Your estate will pass in accordance with the Administration of Estates Act 1925 if you die without making a will.

If you die without making a will, your partner and children do not automatically receive everything in your estate and in fact the courts decide where your assets are distributed, this also includes personal savings. There is a strict order under the Act which determines who gets what so it is imperative that you write a will so you know that you family recieve everything that you wish for them to do so.

There are many excuses used for putting off making a will and these can include:
"I'll get round to it later"
"Making a will is depressing"
"I'll leave it to the kids to sort out after I'm gone"
"I'm not worth anything anyway so what's the point in me making a will, i have nothing to pass on"

It is a sad fact that many families are torn apart from disputes which arise as a result of the deceased person not making a will, forcing the dependents to argue, haggle or 'imagine' what their wishes may have been. By simply taking 10 minutes to make a will this can be avoided.

Making a will isn't all about the financial aspects as making a will involves even more important aspects.

Making a will need not be expensive or time consuming and making a will online is a simple and convenient approach which will suit a growing number of people who lead busy lives and would prefer to make a will in the comfort of their own homes. You don't need to visit a Will writer or solicitor anymore, there are many online, solicitor backed companies that offer this service.

For those who consider making a will to be a depressing task, it is far preferable to make a will while you are fit and healthy and enjoy the rest of your life with peace of mind. Otherwise you could find a family dispute after you have gone to determine who gets what.

I have a blog which highlights the importance of Will writing and covers the reasons as to why one should write a Will. It was stated that over 70% of the UK population do not have a Will, therefore i set out to create a source of information online to assist those that do not have a Will and point the reasons as to why you should write a Will.
