Does color play an important role in Feng Shui? This is a very common question my clients ask me most of the time.

The answer to this question has to take into consideration the viewpoint of the practitioner who prescribes it. Some practitioners consider it relevant insofar as their application of Feng Shui is concerned whereas others may think colors as only having a psychological influence on people.
Based on my observation and research, colors do evokes certain moods in people when applied in line with the interior design of the living space. There are certain systems in Feng Shui where colors can be integrated into the applications based on the element of the person. In Chinese Astrology, a person has an inherent element known as life gua which is based on one of the five elements that made up the universe. These elements are wood, fire, earth, metal and water and there are intrinsic colors associated with each of them. Therefore, the choice of colors to use in a living space such as a bedroom can be based on the life kua of the person sleeping in it.

For example if your life gua number is 3 which is associated with the wood element, the best color for the bedroom is green. If your life gua is 9 which is associated with the fire element, the ideal color to use is red. If your life kua is 1 which is associated with the water element, then blue or black is good.

Another simple method of using colors considers the energy of the living space. In Feng Shui, there is a system known as Flying Stars which studies the energy or "qi" affecting nine sectors of a house. Flying Stars are therefore given numerals of 1 - 9. A star can fly into a sector and occupies it for a period of time as long as twenty years. For example, when there is a star of 1 sitting in a bedroom, the right color to use is blue. This is because the star of 1 is of the water element which is associated with blue color. A room can also have a star facing it which may carry the numeral 6. In Chinese metaphysics, metal produces water. Therefore, the room can also be painted with white color as white is associated with metal. Since both colors are in productive elemental relationship, the colors of the room are in harmony with one another and will bring positive vibes to the occupants of the room in terms of health.

There is also a system in Feng Shui known as Eight Mansions House Gua which may allow the Feng Shui practitioner to use colors that considers the interplay between the elements of the wandering star that occupies the bedroom and the element of the sector. You get another color option here.

There are some Feng Shui practitioners who employ Chinese Astrological system such as Ba Zi for recommending suitable colors based on the most favorable element in the natal chart of the residents.

The other school of thought concerns the use of physical items such as trinkets, ornaments and decorative earthenware as energy activators. For these practitioners who are more likely from the new aged school of Feng Shui, the preference for physical items are based on the common belief that these activators represents the elements that they need e.g. wind chime when a metal element is required or a jar of water when the water element is required.

When a practitioner uses colors arbitrarily without considering the various Feng Shui's systems and their subtle impact on the energy of a living space, there may be conflicts. For example, a good color choice based on the Flying Star system may be bad from a Ba Zi perspective and vice versa. The secret is to find a color that blends harmoniously between two systems.

In Feng Shui, colors are not all that potent in enhancing the energy of a living space compared to the surrounding forms, the location of the main door, kitchen and bedrooms, the orientation of the main door, stove and beds.

For more of such articles, free tips, Feng Shui and Astrological Calculations, you can visit also
fengshuibazi.yolasite.com

--
Alvin Yap is the founder and owner of the website fengshuibazi.yolasite.com
which offers horoscope readings based on the Chinese Astrology known as the Four Pillars of Destiny and consultation on the Chinese Metaphysical Science of Feng Shui.
In Chinese Metaphysics, there are many types of systems and formulas. One of them is known as Flying Stars systems of Feng Shui. In this system, there are nine types of stars which are given numeral of 1 - 9. These stars are actually bodies of energy (also known as Qi) that moves within a property. In Feng Shui, a property is divided into nine equal sectors based on compass direction of North, South, East, West, Northeast, Southeast, Northwest and Southwest. The sector without any compass direction is the center. The distribution of Qi over these sectors demarcates the good and bad sectors therein and formed an energy pattern within a property. The energy pattern in a property will change from month to month and year to year as the stars fly from one sector to the other.

In Flying Stars Feng Shui, a property belonged to a period of time based on its facing direction. There are altogether nine periods and each period has 20 years based on the Chinese Solar Calendar. We are currently in period 8 which started in February 2004 and will last until February 2023. In each period, the nine flying stars are categorizes into good and bad stars. The good stars are deemed timely and will bring prosperity to residents of a property whereas the bad ones are considered untimely and become portents of misfortune. For this period, the few good stars are 8, 9 and 1. Star 8 is the current prosperity star whereas star 9 and 1 are future and distant prosperity stars respectively.

Star 8 is considered very auspicious as it is the ruling star of the period. It brings wealth, financial success, career advancement and prosperity to the residents when it flies into a given sector of a property. For example, star 8 occupies the East sector in the year 2008. A house with the main entrance in the East sector or a room in the East sector will be able to tap into the positive energy of this star and the residents will enjoy good luck in their endeavors.

Star 9 is deemed auspicious as it is the ruling star for the next period which will start from Feb 2023 onwards. This star brings future prosperity to the residents. In year 2008, this star flies into the Southeast sector of a property. A door or room where this star is located will allow the residents therein to enjoy good luck such as long term investments, promotion and business opportunities.

Star 1 is also auspicious as it is the distant ruling star and belonged to period 1 which will start from Feb 2043 onwards. This star brings wisdom, academic luck, recognition and fame. In year 2008, this star flies into the center of a property. A door or room with this star residing in it will be bring scholarly luck for students or those in the literary, artistic or creative fields.

The other useable stars are star 6 and 4. Both stars are deemed to be untimely but nevertheless have their positive qualities when combined with favorable stars of the current period. Star 6 is suitable for power and status whereas star 4 can be used for romance and academic pursuits. Star 6 and star 4 resides in the North and Northeast respectively in year 2008.

For more of such articles and free Feng Shui tips, you can visit
bazidestiny.synthasite.com

--
Alvin Yap is the founder and owner of the website bazidestiny.synthasite.com which offers free horoscope readings based on the Chinese Astrology known as the Four Pillars of Destiny and free consultation on the Chinese Metaphysical Science of Feng Shui.
What is date selection in Chinese Astrology? To answer this question, we need to delve into the philosophy behind the Chinese approach to Date Selection. The Chinese viewpoint of time centers on the concept of Yin and Yang and Time and Space. Time is Yang and Space is Yin. Time is movement and Space is stillness. Time exists as pattern of energies in the universe and it determines the cyclical occurrence of nature in space.

This brings us to date selection which is essentially based on the timeliness of energies. To the Chinese, an activity or endeavor can be chosen based on its timeliness as energy is deemed conducive when it is timely. An activity or endeavor that is carried out at the right time will be fruitful as the energy of the activity is in harmony with the energy of the person carrying out the activity. This is the essence of Chinese date selection. The objective is to carry out an activity at the point when the energies in the universe are auspicious for that particular endeavor. Through the synchronization of these energies, a particular event can commence on a lucky day and time. The Chinese view date selection as a form of divination but with a human touch of luck. The divination aspect has to do with certain planetary or star alignment in the constellation. The human touch concerns actions that we can take to tweak destiny in our favor. We can make choices and time certain decisions to positively influence an outcome and avoid misfortune due to bad timing. By selecting a point in time for an important activity with the most beneficial energy patterns, based on the configuration of stars in the constellation, it represents the quintessential of doing the right thing at the right time.

You can make informed decision and right choices on the path of life based on what is in your natal chart which is also known as the Four Pillars of Destiny or Ba Zi. Your Ba Zi chart is an elemental representation of your destiny. The elements which are dominant in the universe at the moment of birth are represented in the form of the Four Pillars. These elements are fire, earth, metal, water and wood. By understanding the interaction of these elements in your Ba Zi chart, you can determine how best to walk the path that destiny has in store for you. By combining the right course of action to take with the right timing based on date selection, you can personalize a selection of an auspicious date and time to carry out an important activity for a successful outcome.
Feng Shui – The Spirit of Landforms

There are environmental factors that we need to consider when checking a property or site for Feng Shui compliance. The external landforms such as rivers, waterways, roads, lakes, hills, mountains or rises in the land does play an important role in Feng Shui. A property that is aligned with these landforms in the correct location and direction is deemed auspicious and the people living in such a property will enjoy harmony and prosperity. Likewise, a property that is misaligned in relations to these landforms is considered inauspicious and residents will suffer misfortune and bad luck.

A property is categorized under three cycles and nine periods based on Feng Shui San Yuan formula. There are the upper cycle, middle cycle and lower cycle. Each cycle governs three periods and each period last for twenty years. Therefore, a cycle will run for 60 years before the next cycle takes over.

The current period is known as Period Eight which started in Feb 2004 and will expire in Feb 2023. In this period, there are certain compass directions a property should comply with based on the Indirect/Direct Spirit Feng Shui Formula as follows:-

Indirect Spirits – Southwest, East, Southeast and North

Direct Spirits – Northeast, West, Northwest and South

The formula specifies that a property should have its front facing the Indirect Spirit and its rear facing the Direct Spirit. The Indirect Spirit is a compass direction for the location of water in the vicinity whereas the Direct Spirit is a compass direction for location of hills and mountains in the distance.

For instance, if the front of a property is facing a lake or river in the Southwest and has its rear looking towards a mountain in the Northeast, it is said to comply with the Indirect/Direct Spirit Formula. The property can tap into the auspicious energies which bring health, relationship and money luck to the residents. On the other hand, a property which faces a mountain in front with its rear end pointing towards a lake is said to violate the Indirect/Direct Spirit Formula. Residents will not enjoy good luck and tend to face obstacles and challenges in their life.

This is only one of the fundamental factors in Feng Shui with regards to landforms. It is a matter of Yin and Yang. Yang relates to the Indirect Spirit and Yin the Direct Spirit. Ideally, a property should face Yang and sits Yin. Yang is the side of the property where there is most noise, activity and brightness whereas Yin is the side of the property where there is peace, stillness and dimness. Likewise, water is Yang and mountain is Yin. When water and mountain are at their correct compass directions in relations to a property based on the Indirect/Direct Spirit formula, Yin and Yang is said to be in balance.

Apart from the above formula, there are other Feng Shui formulas which relates to the interior of a property, namely Flying Stars and Eight Mansion, to name the more popular ones. These Feng Shui formulas allow residents to map out the energy distribution within a property based on the facing direction (Flying Stars) and sitting direction (Eight Mansion) respectively. It is equally important that a person’s date and time of birth be taken into consideration so that the energy of the property is correctly aligned with the resident’s energy or life force. In Chinese Astrology known as Four Pillars of Destiny, a property with good Feng Shui can help to enhance or mitigate the effects of any positive or negative luck cycles a person is going through in order to live a happy and successful life.

For more free articles on Feng Shui and Chinese Astrology, please visit
proactive-qi.com

--
Alvin Yap is the founder and owner of the website proactive-qi.com which offers free horoscope readings based on the Chinese Astrology known as the Four Pillars of Destiny and free consultation on the Chinese Metaphysical Science of Feng Shui.
Chinese Astrology - How Much Does Happiness Weigh?

Our purpose in life is to seek happiness. This is the ultimate aim of all people. No matter what our goals, dreams or visions, they all lead to the same destination – happiness! We may seek more money, better career, good health, pleasurable time, meaningful relationship and other finer things in life. All these aspirations come with a price.

In Chinese astrology or Ba Zi, the price can come in the form of destruction, clash, harm or punishment between the metaphysical elements in our natal chart. The question is “Are we prepared to pay the price and sacrifice a part of ourselves in order to attain happiness?” Some of us are lucky to be born with a silver spoon and live a gilded life but most of us have to make ends meet by sheer hard work. Whether we were born rich or started life at a disadvantaged, happiness is not delivered to us on a silver platter. We need to look for it. Finding happiness and keeping it is a real challenge as our journey through life is full of twist and turns. The road ahead can be rocky, long and winding. There are times when we meet with obstacles, stumble and fall, hurt ourselves and lost our directions along the way. The journey of life can inflict extreme physical, mental and psychological pain on us and it can be so unbearable that we begin to question whether the end justifies itself. In Chinese
astrology or Ba Zi, the pain that we endured is reflected by the 7 Killings star which bring extreme stress and pressure.

Not everybody is created equal. At least it is not in the physical, mental and psychological dimensions. Different people have different threshold of pain or comfort zone. Some are weak and some are strong. Some are risk takers and some are risk averse. Most of us are in between. We just need to look for a comfortable level where pain and pleasure is at an optimum balance. Imagine a weighing scale with two pans and a balance where pleasure and pain weigh equally. Any excess on either side will tip the balance. The trick is to maintain a comfortable balance with neither too much pleasure nor pain. This is what we should do to maintain a comfortable balance in our lives. Our lives are like a weighing scale on which
happiness is weighed between pleasure and pain. Our goal in life is therefore to seek an optimum balance within our own comfort zone. This is happiness created out of keeping a comfortable balance in our lives.

“So are we able to pay for the price of happiness?”

We only pay for what we can afford because the price of happiness is relative. It defers from people to people. Some may pay a little to enjoy its value whereas some may pay more for the same return. A poor man can be as happy as a rich man within one’s own comfort zone. In other words, happiness is status blind! It is using what we are born with, living within our means and hopefully, happiness will “see” us.

In Chinese Astrology, a person is born with innate characteristics and abilities that are elemental in nature. The elements are metaphysically represented by wood, fire, earth, metal and water. These elements are believed to be cosmic energies that radiate from the stars in the constellations and that they give birth to all living things on earth. We are infused with the energies of the five elements based on the configuration of the stars at the precise hour of our birth. Whether we are destined to live a life full of pleasure or pain depends on the elemental equilibrium in our natal chart. The secret to happiness is keeping a comfortable
balance of the elements within us. This is the essence of Chinese astrology!

For a free reading of your destiny based on Chinese Astrology, you can visit
proactive-qi.com

--
Alvin Yap is the founder and owner of the website proactive-qi.com which offers free horoscope readings based on the Chinese Astrology known as the Four Pillars of Destiny and free consultation on the Chinese Metaphysical Science of Feng Shui.
According to Chinese culture, every lunar Chinese New Year ushers in the God of Wealth who is prayed upon to bring prosperity and monetary rewards to residents celebrating its arrival at their door steps on the eve of Chinese New Year. Prayers and offerings were made to the God of Wealth with an assortment of vegetables, meats and beverages hoping that the ritual will bestow upon the faithful good tidings for the coming year. This cultural practice gains significance in Chinese custom and tradition during the olden days when Feng Shui found its way into the life of the peasants and rural folks in ancient China. Feng Shui is an ancient Chinese Art of Geomancy which studies the movement of energy in the form of wind and water. This art originated with the Chinese scholars over 3,000 years ago and was mostly used by the emperors and intellectuals to amass wealth and power. However, the common folks had inadvertently associated the art with the religious practice of praying to a deity or god, rather than tapping into a body of energy known to the Chinese as Qi. This ritual slowly took root among the masses and later turned into a mythical and religious fascination with the God of Wealth. Thus was born the practice of praying to and receiving the God of Wealth on the eve of Chinese New Year. Fire crackers will be released at the end of the prayer session to welcome his arrival with joy and merriment.

The God of Wealth is no legend at all. In Feng Shui, the body of energy renews itself every year and change directions and locations within a dwelling. This body of energy is influenced by the planetary movement in the constellation and it wax and wane over time, day, month and year. This body of energy or auxiliary star is given a name based on its auspiciousness or misfortune such as the Star of Wealth (a.k.a God of Wealth), Star of Death, Star of Happiness, Star of Nobility etc. It is this Star of Wealth that the Chinese equate it with the God of Wealth and look forward to for an auspicious start to the year. The trick is to tap into the energy of this auspicious star in its right direction and location when it arrives on the eve of Chinese New Year. The Lunar Chinese New Year for 2008 starts on February 7th and the Star of Wealth comes from the West direction and settles in the west sector of a dwelling. Unfortunately, the Star of Death happens to be located in the same sector this year. As such, it is not advisable to receive the God of Wealth this year.

However, there are other auspicious stars such as the Star of Nobility which resides in the Northwest and the Star of Happiness in the South. Try tapping into these stars in their respective locations for better luck. Timing of tapping into these stars is also crucial. The correct time is at the Rat hour of 11.00 pm – 1.00 am or to be precise at 12.30 am on February 7th, 2008. How do you tap into these stars? You can let off fire crackers, play loud music or simply make some noise and be there at the right hour to activate the stars!

Whichever the stars you tapped, these are only auxiliary stars meaning, the effect only last for the day in question and not the entire year. Notwithstanding, it is always better to start the year with the blessing of the veritable God of Wealth for a want of optimisms and mirth.
In Chinese astrology, there are 12 zodiac signs which are represented symbolically by 12 animal signs. These animal signs take their turn to govern a given year based on the Chinese solar calendar or Sixty Jia Zi system. Each animal sign has typical characteristic associated with the year of birth based on the five elements of wood, fire, earth, metal and water. Each year, one of the elements and animal signs will rule the year. The animal sign that rules the year is also given the peculiar name of Grand Duke Jupiter which is associated with the celestial bodies. In 2008, it is rule by the Grand Duke Rat and the ruling element is earth. When you combine the rat and the earth, it becomes the year of the earth rat.

Based on Chinese metaphysics or Feng Shui, a house is divided into nine grids within which there are eight sectors or directions - the center, four primary sectors/directions and four secondary sectors/directions. The four primary sectors/directions are North, South, East and West whereas the four secondary sectors/directions are NW, SE, NE and SW. The center of the house is not included in the compass directions. In 2008, the inauspicious energies known as Five Yellow, Year Breaker and Three Killings occupy the south sector. Five Yellow brings major illnesses and obstacles whereas Three Killing comprises the triple combo of negative energies associated with disaster, robbery (financial losses) and accidents. The Year Breaker is the animal sign which is opposite in direction to the Grand Duke Jupiter.
Every year, the Grand Duke Jupiter will move into a different sector in the house and the palace in which it occupies for the year will be afflicted with negative energies. These negative energies will in turn afflict the resident who resides in the sector concerned. This affliction will manifest in unlucky outcomes for the resident such as accidents, financial losses and illnesses. In order to avoid the ill effects of such affliction, the resident should keep the place undisturbed and there should not be any knocking of the wall, digging of the ground or activities that create noises and vibrations. Best of all, move away from the south sector.

In the year of the Earth Rat (2008), the Grand Duke Jupiter flies into the North sector of a house and its direction is north. If you were born in the year of the Rat, you are said to be offending the Grand Duke Jupiter of the year. What it means is that the energy in you or qi (the energy you were infused with at time of birth based on Chinese Astrology) is tuned in the same direction with the energy of the year and such an alignment of energy creates negative outcomes for the person. You will face with many setbacks and obstacles in the year relating to wealth, health and relationship. In order to avoid such bad luck, all residents in the property should not sit or sleep facing North direction, especially the resident with the animal sign of Rat. If you were born in the year of the Horse, you are said to be clashing with the Grand Duke Jupiter of the year. In other words, your energy or qi is tuned in the opposite direction against the energy of the year because the Horse manifests itself as the Year Breaker and it occupies the south sector. This will also have negative effects on you and the year ahead will be likewise stressful and problematic. The other animal signs that conflict with the Grand Duke Jupiter of the year are Goat (harmful clash) and Rabbit (destructive clash).

On the contrary, the Grand Duke Jupiter of the year can also bring positive outcome for residents who were born in the year of the Ox, Monkey and Dragon. To put it in an astrological perspective, the energy of the year combines with your energy or qi. It means that there is certain compatibility or affinity in the relationship between the Rat, the Ox, the Monkey and the Dragon. If you are one of these animal signs, the year ahead is auspicious and you will have success when it comes to people, relationship, health and wealth. However, a person will need to undertake an actual analysis of his or her natal chart in order to unravel what destiny really has in store for him or her, not only for this year but the years ahead.

This article only shows you one of the basic applications of the amazing vast fields of Chinese Astrology known as Four Pillars of Destiny.
What is a habit? A habit can be defined as something we repeatedly do until it becomes our behavior. It is the interrelationship of knowledge, skill and desire. Whether the habit is positive or negative depends on what it can do for us.

In Chinese Astrology, a person is given a set of natal pillars which comprises the 5 metaphysical elements of the universe. These elements are wood, fire, earth, metal and water. Our existences on earth are governed by these elements. By the interaction of these elements in a productive, conquering or exhaustive cycle, our destiny takes root. Our characteristics, attributes, and behaviors are brought about by many of these elemental interplays within our natal chart. One aspect of destiny that we can change is our habit which invariably influences our behavior. This is where an analysis of our natal chart based on the 5 elements can help us decipher which habit will determine our behavior and ultimately our destiny.

In the context of self improvement, one management guru that stands out is Dr. Stephen R. Covey. His well researched and documented study on human behavior resulted in the publication of the highly acclaimed book “The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People”. In short, the book teaches us how to live a productive and fulfilling life. Using Chinese Astrology, we can analyze how these habits are influenced by the elements in our natal chart.

Habit 1

We always have choices in our lives. What we make of ourselves depend on the choices we made. Whether we live from hand to mouth or live off the fat of the land is ultimately up to us. In Chinese Astrology, this habit has to do with our self element, the element that exhausts self and the element that self conquers. If your self element is wood, then the element that exhausts self is fire and the element that self conquers is earth.

Habit 2

We should have goals in our lives. Goals give us direction and take us where we want to go. It is being proactive in controlling our destiny. In Chinese Astrology, this habit has to do with the element that produces self. If your self element is fire, then the element that produces self is wood.

Habit 3

We should have a plan to achieve our goals. A plan will help to take us to our destination. We need to be disciplined and to prioritize which actions come first and which to take in order to get there fastest. In Chinese Astrology, this habit has to do with the element that conquers self and the element that exhausts self. If your self element is earth, then the element that conquers self is wood and the element that exhausts self is metal.

Habit 4

We should seek cooperation that is mutually beneficial. By having such interaction with one another, everybody wins and no one is made to be a loser. In this way, an agreement will last the test of time since everybody is satisfied and will stay committed. In Chinese Astrology, this habit has to do with our self element, the element that produces self and the element that conquers self. If your self element is metal, then the element that produces self is earth and the element that conquers self is fire.

Habit 5

We should listen more and speak less in order to really understand people. By seeking to understand others first allows us to see things from their perspective and pave the way for us to be understood in return. This makes us influential. In Chinese Astrology, this habit has to do with our self element, the element that produces self and the element that conquers self. If your self element is water, then the element that produces self is metal and the element that conquers self is earth.

Habit 6

We should accept and respect differences in people. By leveraging on the strengths of other people and compensate for their weaknesses, we can forge synergy in a team. Synergy is about using creativity to build strengths in diversity so that collectively, we achieve more than if we go it alone. In Chinese Astrology, this habit has to do with our self element, the element that produces self and the element that exhausts self. If your self element is wood, then the element that produces self is water and the element that exhausts self is fire.

Habit 7

We should strive to maintain a balance in our lives - physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. By having balance in these four areas, we feel energized and empowered to live life to the full. It is the culmination in our journey to be a highly effective person.

So are you in your element?
Feng Shui is an ancient Chinese art of metaphysics in which energy from the mountains and rivers are tapped for the denizen’s physical and mental well being, a sort of living in harmony with the environment. When this energy (also known as qi to the Chinese) is carried by the wind and settles at the boundary of water, the residents of a property nearby enjoy the benefits of its presence which is invigorating and rejuvenating to the mind and body.

But how do we tap into this positive energy? Please visit proactive-qi.com/Fengshui.html

Ideally, a property should be located where qi gathers. In other words, mountains and rivers should be in the vicinity of your property. Mountain ranges are a vital source of life-supporting qi. Rivers, lakes or any water catchment area on the other hand is a good collector of qi. Hence, the preferred location of a property should be near the mountains and water.

In Feng Shui, the ideal location of a property is one that is surrounded by mountains at the back (known as Black Tortoise), on the left (known as Green Dragon) and on the right (known as White Tiger). Ideally, the mountains at the back should be higher than the mountains on either side of the property and by extension, the mountain on the left should be slightly higher than the one on the right. In front of the property, there should be a hill or rise in the land (known as Red Phoenix). With such a location, the property is able to tap into the abundant qi and at the same time, insulated and protected against strong wind and harsh weather.

It would be even better if the metaphorical Dragon and Tiger extend and protect the property like the embracing arm of a lover. In this formation, the mountains will not only bring qi but also serve to protect it from being blown away by the wind.

If the property is located on a flatter terrain, there should be some undulation or contours in the land as this indicates the presence of smaller hills which are also sources of qi. In the absence of such formations, a property should face an area of water in front.

If a property is located in the town or urban setting, buildings can serve as mountains. Even though they are not a good source of qi, they nevertheless help to conserve qi in the area by protecting it from strong winds.

If there are no rivers near a property, roadways can serve as rivers. Even though they do not accumulate qi like waters do, roadways can still assist in dispersing or conserving qi when the property is located within its embracing arm (concave side) as oppose to its convex side. A property should ideally have roads on all four sides to allow even flow of qi.

In Feng Shui, it is believed that certain places or man made objects emit negative energy or Sha qi which adversely affect the health of residents dwelling in the property.

When choosing a property or a house, we should avoid locations which are too close to:
•	Places of worships, cemetery (Yin energy)
•	T-junctions, Y-junctions, lamp posts (heart piercing energy)
•	Pylons, power stations, electric poles (high tension energy)
•	Oxidation ponds, monsoon drains (cutting feet energy)

People staying in such a property, especially when these adjacent buildings, structures or objects directly faces the main door, will not have peace of mind, financial success and good health.

All of us face challenges in life. Feng Shui offers a way out for a dweller to live in harmony with the environment where vibrant qi thrives. By tapping into its life-giving energy, qi helps to support our endeavor in the areas of wealth, health and relationships.

--
Alvin Yap is the founder and owner of the website proactive-qi.com which offers free horoscope readings based on the Chinese Astrology known as the Four Pillars of Destiny and free consultation on the Chinese Metaphysical Science of Feng Shui.
In ancient time, the Chinese had discovered to their amazement that the universe is made up of energy fields known to them as “Qi”. They believed that the Sun, Moon, Earth and other planets in the Solar System radiate cosmic energy which is constantly changing over time depending on the relative positions of the planets.

The discovery had led to the creation of the Chinese calendar which is based on the movement of this cosmic energy. The Chinese charted this cosmic energy into 22 energy pillars known as the Ten Heavenly Stems and Twelve Earthy Branches (equivalent to Twelve Zodiac signs). From these combinations of heavenly stems and earthly branches, the Chinese Solar Calendar (Hsia) is derived which is quite similar to the western Gregorian calendar as it is also based on the earth’s orbit around the sun. However, instead of starting the year on the 1st of January, the Chinese Solar Calendar begins the year on the 1st day of Spring which falls on or around the 4th Feb. This calendar is also used in the practice of Feng Shui and Chinese Astrology known as the Four Pillars of Destiny. You can get a free reading of your destiny at proactive-qi.com/Destiny.html

Based on a person’s date and time of birth, the influence of this cosmic energy on the newborn is said to chart the destiny and characteristics of that particular person.

So how does the Chinese Solar Calendar determine whether a day is good or bad?

It is the days when the Zodiac sign of the year clashes with the Zodiac sign of the day.

The twelve Zodiac signs and their clashes are as follows:-

Rat clashes with Horse
Ox clashes with Goat
Tiger clashes with Monkey
Rabbit clashes with Rooster
Dragon clashes with Dog
Snake clashes with Pig

For instance, in the year of the Pig (solar year 2007), the Pig clashes with the Snake of the day. Therefore, a person who is born in the year of the Pig will have a bad day on the day of the Snake. Therefore, any Snake days in 2007 is called a Year Breaker day and it is deemed inauspicious.

There is also the Month Breaker day. This happens when the Zodiac of the month clashes with the Zodiac of the day. For example, in the month of the Dog (9th solar month), the Dog clashes with the Dragon of the day. Therefore, any Dragon days in the 9th solar month is a Month Breaker day and it is considered inauspicious.

This is just one quick and simple way in a complicated system of date selection used in Chinese Astrology.

--
Alvin Yap is the founder and owner of the website proactive-qi.com
which offers free horoscope readings based on the Chinese Astrology known as the Four Pillars of Destiny and free consultation on the Chinese Metaphysical Science of Feng Shui.
