However, we can prolong the life of the laptop battery considerably through correct operation, proper charging/discharging and correct storage.

Calibrate your laptop battery to optimize its performance
Inside the laptop battery is microprocessor software, which calculates the battery volume during the charging/discharging. Batteries must be calibrated from time to time to ensure correctness of the time and the percentage displayed on the screen. You must implement a complete cycle of charging and discharging the battery at the beginning of using the computer, and repeat this cycle every two or three months. The charging and discharging procedure is as follows:
1. Set the Power Supply option first: Right click on the screen and select Property -> Screen Saver -> Power Supply -> Power Use Scheme -> Portable. In all the subsequent operations such as When Computer and Use Battery, select Never. Under the Alert option, deselect Alert for deficient battery and Alert for serious battery shortage.
2. Disconnect the power adapter and use the battery until the computer is powered off due to exhaustion of the battery.
3. Connect the power adapter until the battery is charged to 100%. Carts are special devices or vehicles intended for transport. Usually making use of about two to four wheels, carts can either be stand alone (machine-operated) or drawn by humans or animals. There are various kinds of draught animals usually used t draw carts. Among them are ponies or horses, water buffaloes, oxen, donkeys, dogs, and goat. Makers of carts are usually called “cartwrights.”

History of carts

In as early as 2000 years BC, carts can already be seen in literature. India’s sacred book, the Rigveda, refers to the equality of men and women as similar to the wheels of a cart.

Human-drawn handcarts have been used throughout the world for several decades. From 1956 to 1960, Mormons of the 19th century travelled across the Unite States by handcarts. In early years, carts were not only used for mere transportation. They also served as a form of judicial punishment, being an important symbol of public humiliation. In Ancient Rome, leaders of conquered nations and groups were usually carried in the triumph of the victorious army leader or general. Condemned criminals were also transported through carts. During the reign of Queen Elizabeth I in England, condemned criminals were subjected to whipping in front of the public while tied to a cart tail.

Types of carts

Carts come in various types, depending on their use, style, and structure. Among the most common and widely used are shopping carts, go carts, golf carts, utility carts, and folding carts.

Shopping carts

Shopping carts are four-wheeled carts specially used for shopping. Particularly used for the transportation of goods within a supermarket’s territory, shopping carts are known in many other terms in various places. In Australia, Britain, and New Zealand, for example, shopping carts are known as trolleys. In New England, United States, they are referred to as shopping carriages or simply carriages. In other regions of the United States and Canada, shopping carts are also called baskets, bascarts, or buggies.

Shopping carts are provided for by supermarkets. Customers are usually allowed to use them up to the check out counter or the cashier. Most supermarkets even allow customers to bring the shopping carts up to the parking lot for easy transport of their purchased goods to their car. The invention of shopping carts is credited to Humpty Dumpty supermarket owner Sylvan Goldman. It is recognized shopping carts were first introduced on June 4, 1937, though it was not until several years later that they grew in popularity.

Go carts

Go carts are more like small vehicles with four wheels, usually used in karting or kart racing. Go carts come in various models, having different designs and speeds. Kart racing is a sport that’s growing in popularity for males and females of different ages.

Golf carts

Golf carts are the official transport vehicles in golf courses. Used to transport both people and golf equipment and accessories, golf carts are usually run with slow to medium speed.

Utility carts

Utility carts are carts used for various purposes such as transportation of various types of goods.

Folding carts

Folding cards are distinct for their foldable feature, which allows them to be transported and stored easily. They are usually found in work environments.

Other types of carts

Drawn by various kinds of animals, carts can also be named after the animal pulling them. Among these types of carts are pony carts, donkey carts, horsecarts and oxcarts. Others are named after what they’re intended to carry. An example is the dogcart, which is intended for transporting hunting dogs. Other types of carts are spring carts, cocking carts, governess carts, rally carts, Whitechapel carts, tax carts, and stolkjaerre.

Financial Brokers

The field of Finance is a very vague concept. It generally refers to the management money depending on the current risks and time, or the interrelation of the three. Almost everyone is affected by the movement of the financial market, which is of course more apparent at these times as the global financial crisis looms. Almost everyone will be transacting their finances in one way or another, and more often than not they will need another party to take care of their finances. The management of your monetary assets and the payment of your bills, as examples, are handled by your bank.

Personal and Business Finances

People usually engage in two types of finances, personal finances and business finances. Personal finance is the finances of individuals or their families. These include their assets and liabilities, their income generating funds, how to secure their finances, and even the matters of inheritance and bequests, among others. Business finance, on the other hand, are the more complicated finances revolving around corporations, from the raising of capital to the management of the profits.

Banks and the Finance World

Banks had been an important part of the financial world. Banks had been traditionally the place where people store their money for security. This money can later earn interest as time goes on. Later on, banks have also been active in lending of loans for entrepreneurs or other individuals. Banks are also the ones that usually provide credit in the form of personal credit cards to their clients. Banks, as mentioned before, also acts as a third party for the payment of bills of their clients for hassle-free transactions. On some countries, banks can even own and control other industrial corporations. There are also banks that deal with insurance services. Generally, banks are the main facilitators of financing. Banks, especially chartered banks, can be considered as financial intermediaries, or financial brokers.

The Middlemen

Financial brokers are people or institutions who act as the middleman between their clients and another party in terms of the financial deals between the two said parties. The two parties can be people or institutions whom the clients of the financial brokers are dealing business with. Financial brokers can even act as middlemen between their clients and the lending institutions who will lend or who loaned money to their clients. Financial brokers can also deal as middlemen in the stock market, where they can act both as financial advisors or stock brokers. Generally, financial brokers are the ones who manage the finances of their clients.

For their services, financial brokers will receive commissions in the form of a brokerage. The brokerage is usually derived from a certain percentage of the amount invested, depending on what the financial brokers and their clients had agreed upon. The commission of financial brokers can also significantly shoot up when they closed a good deal for their clients.

Stocks, Bonds and the Financial Broker

The stock market is either a public or private market company stocks and derivatives are traded. Stock market participants are the buyers, sellers, and the financial brokers who act as intermediaries between the buyers and the sellers. They can be private individual people to large institutions. Before, stock market buying was done individually by the involved people, such as wealthy people buying stocks. There were then of course financial brokers to intermediate for them. However, recently, larger financial institutions, which are usually a group of financial brokers and other finance experts, have been the one doing the buying or selling for their clients, usually on their clients’ instructions or advice. Similarly, financial brokers are also active in the bond market. They serve as the financial advisers or brokers for the debt issuers and the sellers.
