The alarm pulls me away from the romantic dinner I was having with Tom Cruise and the aroma of fresh-perked coffee spurs my sleepy body to tumble out of bed and into the shower. I pull on my robe and traipse downstairs to the kitchen to begin another day at the office. I pour my coffee and sit down to read the newspaper.

A year ago I would have been dashing around frantically ironing blouses and skirts, flinging clothes through the air like a madwoman and sending my cat running for cover, trying to find something compatible, pulling on nylons only to discover runs and snags in them and searching desperately through my closets for matching shoes and handbags. Not any more. I finally got smart, bought coordinating outfits with accessories to match and organized my business attire so that I didn’t have to rush around at the last minute.

Now, I not only have a nice wardrobe for work but also a few formal dresses and shoes for those special occasions. How did I go from being a completely disheveled crazy person to becoming neat, prepared and organized? Simple, last year I made myself a New Year’s resolution that I would clean my closets and update my wardrobe with chic, new styles that I could mix-and-match and which could be easily maintained. I made a plan and I stuck to it.

The most difficult part was cleaning out my closets but I hired a consultant and together we spent an entire afternoon making piles of clothing, shoes and accessories. We laughed. We cried. We hugged and finally we succeeded in reducing my inventory to a comfortable amount that I could then work with. It also freed up precious closet space for my new additions. What I didn’t have to dispose of was donated to a local women’s shelter.

Then I figured out a budget to allow for enough money each month to purchase new business attire. I decided to try shopping online and found a wonderful, vast selection of plus size clothing shops online that catered to the full-figured woman. I began to select items that would complement each other in brands, styles and colors.

One month I would dedicate to dresses and skirts, followed by blouses, tops and sweaters. The next month would be shoes, hosiery and undergarments, then on to jackets, blazers and coats. I did this each month and my wardrobe has now grown to include a fabulous collection of fashionable and flattering clothing that I absolutely adore!

I finish my coffee, rinse out my cup, leisurely get dressed, feed the cat and go to work.

--
Feel the need to pull your own plus size clothing wardrobe together?
Today’s tie is a descendent of the European cravat which was a long strip of cloth worn about the neck. A starched, white ruff was then attached to keep the jacket or doublet from becoming marred or stained as well as functioning as a napkin or bib as the need arose. Ties are used now as a fashion statement or as part of a uniform.

We’ve all seen comical situations occur with men and their ties. For instance, when the news camera catches a man walking across the street during a storm and his tie is blowing frantically around his head. Without a doubt, there are also dangers lurking with tie-wearers which need to be taken into consideration, such as when the tie gets caught in machinery. To avoid such circumstances, several smart devices have been invented that enables the tie to be attached to the dress shirt underneath, thereby holding it in place.

The following list gives the names and descriptions of each of these devices:

TIE BAR: Much like the shape and function of a paperclip, this is an elongated strip of metal used to slide across the tie, attaching it to the shirt. Tie bars, also known as tie slides can be found in plain or decorative patterns.

TIE CHAIN: Usually made from gold or silver, and resembling a hanger with a loop to attach to a button with a chain hanging down from either end. The tie is slipped through the loop, hiding the bar and revealing the chain in front.

TIE CLIP: Two or three strips of material joined together by a spring-loaded mechanism which is clipped across the tie and shirt, holding them together. Also known as a tie clasp, they come in a variety of materials, lengths and shapes. Many have decorative engravings, logos or gemstones attached.

TIE STRAP: A relatively new accessory which is slipped through the back of the tie through the label loop then buttoning it above and below. They are usually made of cloth or plastic.

TIE TACK: Also known as a tie pin, this utensil resembles a studded earring with a chain attached to a long, cylindrical piece of metal or weight. The pin is detached from its base and placed through the material of the tie and then reattached to the base. The weight is then slid through a buttonhole, which keeps the tie in place.

It’s a matter of preference which instrument each person uses but one thing to remember with tie pins is that they tend to damage the silk tie cloth when piercing them. When shopping for tie clips, be sure to choose the correct widths and materials to complement your tie collection.

--
Looking for an assortment of men's tie clips and accessories?
We all want to look our best, whether we're short and slim or tall and heavier. If you find shopping for fashionable plus size clothing a painful experience, here are a few tips I've collected that will help us look our best.

Pants

Choose pants that are long enough for you. If your pants are too short, it visually cuts the length of your legs. The longer your legs look, the slimmer they'll appear.

Also choose pants that fit you well, not too tight or clingy. Fabrics that are too thin tend to cling to your legs and reveal bumps we'd rather keep out of sight.

Choose pants that are either boot cut, wider legged or flared at the bottom. The boot cut is slimming, while the wider cuts also add a slimming effect by keeping a visual straight line from our hips to our ankles. The worst choice would be a tight, tapered pant leg bottom as this enhances the width of your hips and thighs.

Capri pants are very slimming as well if they're the right length. Choose a style where the bottom of the pant ends a few inches above your ankles but below the widest part of your calves.

Skirts

Choose skirts that rest just above your knees. A mid-calf skirt cuts the length of your legs and draws eyes to the thickest part of your lower legs.

Again, proper fit is key here. Something too tight will visually enhance and draw attention to bulges that we'd rather not publicize. Also look for skirts that fit below the waistline if you have a thick waist.

Bras

A well fitted bra is a must for every woman. Not only to give support and comfort, but a too tight bra can pop out those back rolls like nobody's business!

If your cup size is not too large, consider trying a sports bra for a comfier fit that has adequate support. No wires here ladies!

Colors

Choose darker colors for areas you don't want the eyes to focus on and brighter colors for places you want to accentuate. Darker colors such as black and navy are very slimming and should be in every woman's closet.

Dressing from head to toe in one color is also very slimming as it makes a person look taller. Matching your pantyhose to the color of your shoes and skirts helps achieve this look.

Patterns

Stay away from large patterns and look for vertical stripes - thin is best. Thin stripes help give the illusion of length. Adding length helps give the illusion of a longer body, which helps you look thinner. Small, delicate prints can also be very flattering.

Fit

If your clothing is too tight, it accentuates and magnifies all flaws. If our clothing is too loose and baggy, we think we're hiding our size but the opposite actually happens: we magnify our size.

So many tips to keep in mind when shopping for new clothes! But the key points to remember are proper fit and visually lengthening fashions. We have so many options now in plus size fashions that we can find exactly what works best for our body types.

--
Treat yourself to a new wardrobe and save money at the same time with plus size clothes coupons and bargains found at http://www.plussizegoodies.com.

Source: http://www.articletrader.com
