What are you telling your customers, clients and readers when you have poorly written products and poorly written pages on your website?

Do you think that it is okay because nobody expects perfection? Do you think that people will understand because English is not your primary language? Do you think that people will still be just as willing to pull out their wallets and pay you for these products? The problems you create for yourself by refusing to correct your "minor" mistakes that "everybody understands" could literally be costing you thousands of dollars or more.

Whether you know it or not, simple corrections to web sites … and more specifically to sales pages, have resulted in increased conversion rates and higher profits for many people. On occasion, these simple (and cheap) corrections have made the difference between a semi-successful sales page and a sales page with absolutely incredible conversion rates.

Years ago, there were no word processors and a "spell checker" was a derogatory term for an editor belittling their years of experience and their vast array of skills. These days, they should make it relatively easy for you to produce quality documents that are not so full of errors that people are forced to translate what you are attempting to say … much less the effect that it has on your overall results and profit margins.

For many people, this is simply a matter of not having the benefit of having English for their primary language. If this is the case, you certainly have a number of sympathetic visitors but guess what … their sympathy is not going to pay all of your bills. If the reader to your website has a difficult time reading the materials that you post, do you think that they are going to believe that your product is any better? Do you believe that they are going to pay you for something that they are afraid that they cannot use simply because you have their sympathy? The answer is not very likely!

Editors are readily available for a very cheap price online and elsewhere. In many cases, you can even discover writers to work with you for a percentage of the sales or of your bottom line product. There is no need to spend thousands of dollars editing your work in order to put out something that will be of even more benefit to your clients and greatly increase your conversion rates. In many cases, if you do find a writer who will work with you, you can save yourself lots of work and earn more money.

Writers may not always be the answer but in many cases, they are more willing and more ready to work with you than an actual editor would be. You also need to use a little bit of caution as well … especially if you are using the freelance sites to find workers and you do not know the person personally. This becomes even more important if English is not your primary language as you may very well miss many of the errors that your "editor" or writer has left in place … unable to even see, much less repair.

Finding an editor can help you to increase your conversion rates but finding a writer to actually work with you from start to finish will greatly increase your chances of success. Either way, whether you have your reader's sympathy or not, your conversion rates, your bottom line and your profits will not increase until you can win their hearts, their minds and get them to trust you and what you have to say enough to pull out their wallets and pay you for it. If you can do that, than you have won the first battle that many people lose when it comes to Internet Marketing.

--
Ward Tipton is a professional writer who personally prefers writing his science fiction but has spent the last five years providing highly specialized and quality online content for his array of clients.
Whether you want to admit to it or not, if you are in business online, you are either going to have to …

•	Start your own company and hire full time employees
•	Outsource
•	Automate

Since many people do not have the financial wherewithal to open their own companies and hire full time personnel to take care of all of their work online, this article will focus on the two options that are left to most people working online. With somewhere around ten billion websites currently listed on Google, the first thing you must realize in regards to Internet Marketing and working online is that you are going to have to do something in order to set yourself apart from the crowd and get people to your website.

Once you have figured that out you are ahead in the game and can begin working on the next step. In order to set yourself apart from the masses, you are going to need to make some serious and concentrated efforts regarding SEO and SEM. While this process may be easier once you have become well established, if you are going that good, you probably will not be wasting time reading articles like this online. For the rest of us, some help is going to be needed while the virtual online empire is under construction.

One of the most important aspects of online and Internet Marketing success is going to come from your link campaign. The links should point back to your site and include the keywords that you want your website to be recognized for … and discovered on the search engine results page when people search for those keywords. Even if you have a relatively low amount of competition, a great deal of work will be necessary just to get your website on the front page of the search engines.

If you want to keep the traffic coming to your website and keep it profitable, not only are you going to have to get your website to the front page of the SERP but you are going to have to continually work to keep it there. You can never forget that your competitors are competing directly against you and will also be doing everything in their power to get their websites on to that same front page … and will knock you off the front page if you allow them the opportunity to do so.

Your link campaign, if strategically placed and played, will provide you with increased "authority" within your niche, increase your page ranking, generate more traffic and help you stay on the valuable real estate on the front page of the SERP. What you also need to realize however, is that staying on that front page is going to require a constant amount of work on your part. This one portion of Internet Marketing alone is a full time job if you take it on yourself … unless you automate it or outsource it.

Unless you only have one page that you are promoting or one item that you are selling, you will not be able to commit all of your time to nothing more than a link campaign. Therefore, your only real options are to either outsource this work or to automate it if you want it to be effective. Both options have good and bad points but your ultimate decision needs to be based upon your personal situation and just what you have to invest in your business.

If you have the money, you may very well be better off outsourcing this part of your Internet Marketing business. If you can do it, you will have the ultimate set it and forget it system in place once you have found a reliable SEO service. Unfortunately, this means that you will have to pay every month but again, if you can afford it, it really is a very small price to pay for a successful business.

For those who are not in a position to toss out a few hundred dollars every month for an SEO service, you can still buy a wide selection of software that will fully … or at least mostly automate many of the tedious tasks normally associated with SEO and SEM and especially in regards to marketing and link campaigns.

While you will still need to use some of your valuable time to set everything up, automation software takes a lot less time than performing all of those tasks manually. Additionally, most of these programs can be purchased for a single, one-time cost of well under one hundred (US) dollars.

If you have the money to invest in your Internet Marketing business and career, invest it and do it wisely and success is almost assured. If you do not have the money to invest, time becomes your most valuable and precious asset and you have to use it wisely in order to succeed online. A good selection of automation software should free up enough of your time that you can still enjoy a comfortable level of success.

--
Ward Tipton is a professional writer who personally prefers writing his science fiction but has spent the last five years providing highly specialized and quality online content for his array of clients.
One of the biggest challenges facing people who work online is not so much involving time management as it is the time that is required to handle tedious and time-consuming tasks such as submitting articles, RSS Feeds, Social Bookmarking and other online sources to directories can easily eat away a full day and cost the average Internet Marketer to lose more money than they will ever gain.

At best, you will not be able to earn enough to make your online Internet Marketing ventures a profitable business and at worst, you will spend so much time for so few results that you are forced back in to the brick and mortar world working for the very same boss who told you that you would fail before you ever began building your virtual online empire.

However, this leads you right back around to the other side of the fence to the common misconception that you can just create some automated blog, kick back, make millions overnight and watch the money roll in while you laze on the beach with your new array of toys and trinkets you bought online. If you honestly do believe that this is going to happen, then you may be well advised not to quit your day job in the first place.

When you want to become involved in the world of Internet Marketing you need to realize that it is a business like any other business. It will take time to build it up and establish your presence online or it will take enough money to pay someone else to establish and build up your online presence. Whichever route you choose, Internet Marketing still remains an online business venture and has to be treated as such.

If you have the financial capacity to begin investing in your online business venture immediately, you are already a step ahead of the game. However, do not be trapped into buying every money making opportunity or e-book offer that you run across thinking every one of them will make you an online millionaire in the wings. Do your research before you invest any money at all in your Internet Marketing business.

One of the wisest things ever written about Internet Marketing was boiled down to "Don't burn it ‘til you earn it!" meaning never invest any money online that you did not earn online. While this may not get your Virtual Online Empire taking off at lightspeed from the get-go, it will prevent you from ending up in the proverbial poor-house attempting to get rich!

Understand from the beginning that it is going to take time to reach thousands of targeted visitors to your website. Invest in small programs that will help you to automate all of the tedious tasks that you would otherwise spend so much time doing. Invest your Internet Marketing time more wisely creating new content for your website, new products for your subscribers.

If you have to, invest in quality freelancers including professional web designers, professional writers and others who may be better suited to handle any tasks that you cannot adequately perform. If you do find yourself in a position where you need professional writing services, I happen to know of a great place to go … but then again, I am also prejudiced.

Remember, Internet Marketing is a business like any other. If you hire cheap labor and slap your products together, it will not take long for your dreams to crumble right alongside your online business venture. Invest wisely in your business, automate what you can and outsource what you cannot. In the end, your results, your success and your profits will show that it was well worth the investment.

--
Ward Tipton is a Professional Writer who has spent the last five years providing highly specialized and quality Professional Writing Services

Source: http://www.articletrader.com

Spelling and Grammar in Online Content

Just how important is spelling and grammar in online content? It is well known that not everybody in the world speaks English as their primary language. It is also well known that while the first fact is true, the vast majority of all websites … and especially websites about Internet Marketing are written in English. Not everybody can be an expert in English but you really should consider the importance of spelling and grammar in your online content.

Would you allow an auto repairman to work on your car after he described such technical issues as "fixing the thingy there" or talking to you about "doo-hickers" and "thingamabobs"? The fact is that if you are going to allow someone to work on your car, you want them to know a carburetor from distributor and you want to know what they are working on and without a bunch of generic talk or worse yet … gobbledy-gook involved in the discussion.

In all likelihood, you would probably leave running and never go back. It may be that they are the greatest mechanic in the world but you would never know that because they could not establish your trust. How many sales pages have you seen where you were almost compelled to buy something that sounded really good but had second thoughts?

I personally know of one very admirable product that is nearly complete in every sense of the word and it really is an awesome product. The sales page is long, involved, detailed and laid out in all the right ways according to the copywriting gurus but conversion rates still hover somewhere around one to two percent. Why is that? Well it could be because it is an expensive product but somehow I doubt that is the case.

It happens to be a very in-depth and informative informational product for Internet Marketing that leads you by the hand from start to finish where you can get enough going to at least get started creating your virtual online empire. While it is actually an incredible product and you would definitely be interested if you saw it, most people will never actually see it.

The fact remains that when somebody is going to "plunk down" their hard-earned cash for an informational product, they want information. "Well Duh!" you say. Still, how are you ever going to trust someone to provide you with valuable and timely information that will actually help you if they can not even get a sales page up without a massive number of errors?

Are you going to trust them or are you going to run … whether consciously or not, because you are just not convinced that they know what they are talking about? Nearly everybody is judgmental to a degree. If a fat, smelly, homeless looking person cut in front of you in the line you would be much more likely to get upset than you would if an extremely attractive person graciously intervened and thanked you for your kindness, beguiling you with their charm and good looks.

Facts are facts and no amount of discussion can change reality. The same principles hold true in website copy. If your website is full of errors that could have easily been avoided, it is costing you more than just a little lost ad revenue. How important is spelling and grammar in online content? Do you want your readers coming back from more or running away without even giving you a chance?

--
Ward Tipton is a Professional Writer who has spent the last five years providing highly specialized and quality Professional Writing Services

Source: http://www.articletrader.com

Financial Factors

One of the leading causes of stress is financial in nature. No matter how much money you may have, it never seems to be enough. Ask anyone who has ever inherited a large portion of money or even lottery winners. In fact, many winners of the lottery are often plagued by new and unforeseen financial woes that they never even took into consideration when buying that one-dollar ticket with their morning coffee. Winning all that money is supposed to alleviate financial difficulties, not create more though. So how is any of that possible?

It is understood that not many “average” people win the lottery or inherit large sums of money. Still, those that do will still be greatly disappointed when they discover the newfound problems that they have in their lives. The problems may stem from burning through the money too quickly or every distant cousin they have ever met (and some they have never even met once) now coming to them with open arms and expectations of being financially rewarded just for showing up. The fact remains that almost everybody has financial difficulties and needs to learn how to deal with them in order to get rid of the excessive stress in their lives due to financial concerns.

So how is it possible to get past the financial difficulties that plague almost everyone and to get rid of the additional stress that is associated with financial matters? It is not by any means impossible but it will take work on your part and a certain level of commitment. Remember in the first paragraph when you read, “no matter how much money you have, it will never be enough?” I heard you agreeing with that comment. While that may be a slight overstatement, most people would still agree that it is true.

How did you learn to live with the deductions when they began making deductions for your insurance or your 401K? Anyone who has ever had their paycheck “attached” for past due accounts will be forced to begrudgingly admit that they survived the experience? How did they do this if it is so difficult? In the case of a paycheck that has been attached, the wages were removed before they ever got their paycheck. I doubt that anyone would willingly accept this as a viable solution to his or her financial problems. It would certainly not reduce stress on a more personal level.

What they did was they learned to make sacrifices. But sacrifice indicates something that they did not willingly give up, so how can that help relieve financial pressure or stress? What type of items did they sacrifice? Well, in that case they probably sacrificed much more than they thought they could and almost certainly more than they wanted to. Now it is not recommended that you go to such extremes but there are two very valid and reasonable points you should look at here.

No matter how much money you have, it will never be enough so you have to learn to make adjustments in your spending. There are always places where you can cut your cost of living and find better ways to utilize your disposable discretionary income. Once you have figured those two issues out and accepted them as truths in your life, you can begin not only recovering financially but investing in your future and that will remove a lot of unnecessary stress from your life.

--
Ward Tipton has been an author and editor for over twenty years.
Many great writers got their start by keeping personal diaries or journals. No matter what you call them, they are a very valid contribution to your skills and ability as a writer. What many people fail to understand is the full range of benefits involved with keeping such personal observations regarding simple matters of their life. While the author may disregard these events as casual or par for the life, at some point in time, they may very well provide the backbone for the next great novel or in some instances, the next top-selling autobiography.

Writers, by their very nature, are involved with many different aspects of the world around them. A good writer can place the reader at the scene and paint incredible pictures with their words that allow the people to experience the scene almost as if they were right there when it happened. Keeping a daily record of those events can make it much easier to recreate the moments when it is time to record them for posterity.

Imagine the literary loss to the world had Thoreau never taken notes about his observations? Would you consider a walk through the woods to be anything worthy of historical retrospection? Whether you do or not, there may be small key points that relate to the world in a way you could not even have imagined at the time that are only brought to light under the reflection of lessons learned long after the original moment passed. Those moments would be forever lost to history had someone not taken the time to record their simple, mundane or even perhaps seemingly boring thoughts for a look back later in time.

Imagine the fate of the literary world had Hemingway retreated even further into himself and never made any effort at all to communicate his view of the world. Where would we be without his classics teaching of us the constant struggle within each and every one of us. The ability that he had to express the desire to go on living despite the futility of life around us, the strike of fate which hits us all so deeply on so many levels, was an incredible gift and one that should rightfully be shared with the world.

No matter how insignificant the events of a day may seem at its passing, it could contain minute details that will only be visible at a later point in time. Recording the major occurrences of a day will often help the reader to put together all of the little things that happened as well. Those small details often add up to a moment of greatness that can be shared and enjoyed by others as well.

While you may or may not be the writer that creates the next best-seller or wins the next Pulitzer, you could still make valuable contributions to the world. Are you ready to deny the world all of the benefits of what you have to offer? Keeping something so simple as a daily journal or diary may seem almost like an exercise in futility to you at the moment, but it could in fact, provide the key that opens up the next great adventure, either for you personally or for the world as a whole.

To paraphrase an old saying; “Thar’s gold in them thar words!” Make sure that you write them down and give the world a chance to shine some light on them.

--
Ward Tipton has been an author and editor for over twenty years.
Writing On Spec

Many writers want to have a solid and viable market before they even consider putting the pen to the paper, much less actually creating a literary masterpiece. A lot of other writers however, are not quite so particular. Many of these writers will work on “spec” or speculation. While both arenas have their good points and bad points, we will look strictly at writing on “spec” in this article.

It is called writing on speculation for a reason. You are writing and hoping to get your work published and paid for it. This can be both a really good thing and a really bad thing all at the same time. The benefits and the detriments both exist much as they do anywhere else. The difference here will be in how you deal with them as a writer.

Writing on spec allows the writer to write about literally anything and everything that interests them. This often results in much better writing because the writer is more comfortable and more relaxed with the subject matter. Often times the writing will be in regards to a particular subject and a viable solution to a common problem within that subject. Other pieces written on speculation include informative articles as well as articles of general interest about a particular subject matter or topic.

The biggest problem with writing on speculation is that the author never knows for certain whether or not they will ever actually be able to sell the pieces that they write. While this may seem to be an absolute negative to many potential authors, for others it is not necessarily a bad thing. While ultimately, everybody who is writing would like to be paid for his or her work; this same work can serve other purposes as well.

If the article does not sell, it can often be used on a personal web page or even as a part of the writer’s portfolio and writing samples. While no money was made on the original writing, it could still lead to other opportunities that do allow the writer to get paid for their work. So while they do not actually make money on the article that was originally written strictly on speculation, it did open up doors and opportunities that allowed them to earn money in the long run.

If you are one of the many people who write simply out of some unspoken love for the beauty of the written word, writing on speculation may be one of the quickest and easiest ways for you to break into the world of writing. While there is certainly no guarantee that you will be paid each and every time you put the pen to paper, you will stand a lot better chance of getting published than someone who never even tries.

Even more, the experience that you gain as you go along will also be reflected in your writing and your passion and dedication to the written word will probably never be brought into question. Throw in a few tear-sheets with that and you will be well on your way if not to fame and fortune, at least to a viable career as a professional writers.

--
Ward Tipton has been an author and editor for over twenty years.
Writing is about writing so people say. However, throughout history, people have made many claims and history has shown repeatedly how easy it is for people in general to be misled, misguided and misinformed. In the case of writers, it is often the very ones writing the words that are misinforming those who wish to impart their knowledge with the power of the written word.

Writing on the internet is the same as writing in other places with some very notable exceptions. Writing on the internet is directed at a market that wants instant gratification and very often does not want to spend an excessive amount of time or energy researching or even reading. While this may seem to be a contradiction, it really is not.

Unlike the rapidly declining print media, physical space restrictions are not a problem on the internet or anywhere on the World Wide Web for that matter. While some people make dire predictions of an overpopulated and greatly hindered cyber realm, this phenomenon stands about as much chance of becoming a reality as discovering hidden ice fields within an active volcano. It is not going to happen and that is just a reality.

However, while physical requirements are not a consideration, length and word counts are very important. The actual length of the article or post on a web page can make all of the difference in the world between keeping people on your site; generating return traffic and watching your site die quickly and painfully before your very eyes. If the article is too long, people will not stay around long enough to read the entire piece. If the article is too short, people will not be able to absorb enough information since it is not included in the piece and again, you will lose a reader and possibly a potential customer as well.

Ideally, the articles or posts should be somewhere in the neighborhood of five-hundred words. This is not an exact figure and until the day comes when people begin ordering books by the number of pages or words, it will never become an exact number. Still, statistically at least, this has been shown to be the optimal length for content that will be housed on the World Wide Web. It is long enough to impart the knowledge that people are looking for without overwhelming them with too much knowledge or taking up too much of their time.

Time actually seems to be more of a key when writing on the internet than the actual information. From the time that someone enters your web page, you will have roughly seven seconds to get their attention and make their decision as to whether to stay or leave. If you bombard them with nothing but ceaseless and never-ending paragraphs with no breaks and no distractions, they will probably leave. Likewise, if you bombard their senses with nonstop advertisements and very little information, they will still leave just as quickly.

Writing on the internet requires striking a very fine balance between information and distractions. Either one becomes ineffective without the other and too much of either one will destroy the whole page setup. Provide your readers with a soothing mix with enough information and very little extemporaneous information and you will strike the balance that should bring you great success in your online writing career.

--
Ward Tipton has been an author and editor for over twenty years.
How many times have you sat and stared at a blank page trying to think about something to write about and working in vain to come up with a new and exciting topic? While brainstorming can be a great method for overcoming this, it can still be difficult to get started with. Brainstorming after all, is exactly the same thing isn’t it? Brainstorming is nothing more than sitting there trying to make something out of nothing.

Rather than trying to think about something in particular, try sitting there thinking about nothing for a moment. Make sure your keyboard is handy or that you have a pen and paper because the results will surprise you. Take a sip of your coffee, bourbon, soda or other beverage of choice, put the cup down, pick up the pen, sit back and close your eyes.

Now, think about absolutely nothing. Nothing, by the very fact that it has a definition, is in and of itself an oxymoron of sorts. Still, most people find it very difficult, if not virtually impossible to actually think about nothing. It is much the same as if I tell you to sit there and not to think about Disney world. The overall effect is actually the same. By trying not to think about something, you will inevitably begin thinking about something.

For example, using a timely classic, you may try to picture an empty chalkboard. Okay, let’s say you do exactly that. What thoughts does it bring to your mind? Maybe it causes you to think about your days in school. What did you like about school? What did you hate about school? What fundamental changes happened while you were in school? What caused those changes to occur? What was the direct result of those changes? What were the indirect consequences of those changes? How did they affect the people around you?

Unless you are very focused and heavily involved in meditation, it will be almost impossible for you to actually concentrate on nothing. Even most of those people who are involved in meditation will focus on something while they are meditating. As you try to clear your mind, you may notice random thoughts flying past. Whether they seem to be aimed directly at you or avoiding you may depend on your personal circumstances but the thoughts will be there regardless.

What you do with those thoughts is going to be strictly up to you but try focusing on only one at first. If you think about it some, it should lead you to the next thought in line and so on until you have a complete list of thoughts in front of you. Look at the thoughts that you have considered important enough to write down. Look at them as a path to an end and see where each thought leads you.

Once you figure out where they go, you will see the destinations opening up before you. At this point, it will become possible to begin breaking them down even more and seeing which ones are relevant to your current subject matter. Pick the one that is a close match first and move on from there. Writer’s block may be an obstacle but it is not a barrier that cannot be overcome. Often times the best solution is not thinking about it at all.

--
Ward Tipton has been an author and editor for over twenty years.
