An allergy is an abnormally high sensitivity reaction to an ordinarily harmless substance. The immune system of an allergic person reacts when an allergen is absorbed into their body, treating the substance as a harmful invader, causing the white blood cells to begin producing IgE antibodies which attach themselves to mast cells. When this occurs it causes the body to release histamine, which can cause allergy symptoms -- watery eyes, itching, sneezing or a runny nose.

Contact dermatitis, eczema, and hives can be types of skin allergies.

Chemicals in cosmetics or lotions may also cause skin problems. The symptoms may occur right away, or take a few days to develop. These symptoms include swelling, burning, stinging, itching, and redness. Most of these reactions are caused by skin care products that are used on the face, hands, and body. Other causes include hair care products, including hair dye and permanent solution, and face makeup products.

Eczema may occur for unknown reasons or as a result of exposure to certain plants, foods, animals, nickel, rubber, soap products or dyes. This can produce itchy rashes and weeping blisters. This is a common problem with all jewelry made with nickel as a base metal.

Hives are another kind of skin response. They may occur as a result of changes in body temperature or stress. Hives are small, red, itchy swellings on the skin. They arise quickly and can last up to 48 hours. They appear in clusters which disappear as another cluster develops. Foods like chocolate, nuts, tomatoes, and berries are common causes of hives. Certain drugs such as aspirin, penicillin, and sulfa may cause hives, as well. Some people get hives simply by rubbing or scratching their skin.

No permanent cure exists for skin reactions. It is best to try and avoid the causes. It may help to change to hypoallergenic and fragrance free products. If contact dermatitis, eczema or hives do occur, they can often be treated with over the counter antihistamines such as Benadryl.

--
This article has been published by Awinita Smith whose specialization are in Health related topics and currently writing on Skin Treatment topics for http://www.skintreatmentweb.info.
If you are not happy with the way you look, don’t worry solution is available for this problem. There are different types of cosmetic surgery, with some of the most popular being: breast augmentation, breast reduction, breast lift, tummy tuck, nose surgery, facelift, eyelid surgery, Botox injections, facial implants, ear pinning, hair restoration, laser skin resurfacing, and laser hair removal.

Although these types of surgery can help you to look and feel better, you need to know that there are certain risks involved that come along with each one. Also it is important to consult with your doctor to find the particular procedure and these risks
Those are involved.

The following plastic surgery risks involve complications with anesthesia: abnormal heart rhythm, blood clots, airway obstruction, brain damage, heart attack, stroke, temporary paralysis, and even death. It is important to keep in mind that these plastic surgery risks are rare and there are a number of things that a good anesthesiologist can do to mitigate these plastic surgery risks.

Breast augmentation risks include sensory damage around the operation site, discoloration of the skin, tissue necrosis, asymmetry, infection, formation of scar tissue, and allergic reactions to sedation. Facial plastic surgery, on the other hand, can lead to noticeable tissue damage, unnatural looking features and premature aging.
The dangers of plastic surgery will increase or decrease depending on the type of surgery performed and the individual’s reaction to surgery and anesthesia. One of the most common dangers of plastic surgery that people considering surgery should be aware of is scarring. Most plastic surgeons attempt to hide incision lines in places where they can’t be seen, like under the crease of the breast in breast augmentation plastic surgery, or in the hairline in facial plastic surgery. Most surgeries will still result in permanent scarring, but the scarring is usually hidden from sight.

Some other dangers of plastic surgery are bleeding, infection, and blood clots. Close monitoring of the patient after surgery will allow these complications to be caught early on so they can be promptly treated. A high temperature is a sign of infection, and with the ease of temperature monitoring, it should be checked every few hours. Before you undergo plastic surgery it is important to have blood tests and a physical done to ensure that you are a good candidate for surgery. In addition you should make sure to look into the procedure you are considering and learn about the risks involved so that you can be as prepared inside and out for your transformation.

--
This article has been published by Awinita Smith whose specialization are in Health related topics and currently writing on Skin Treatment topics for http://www.skintreatmentweb.info.
Blepharoplasty - Eyelid Surgery

Eyelid Surgery, or blepharoplasty, is used to remove the fat deposits and loose skin that may form on the lower eyelids with age. Many factors, including heredity and sun damage, accelerate these changes. Younger people also elect to have this procedure done to eliminate puffiness of the eyes from congenital excess fatty tissue. The eyelift surgeries can also be performed by general plastic surgeons with specialization in ocuplasty or ear-nose-throat. Some dermatologists as well general ophthalmologists may also be qualified to carry out this type of surgery.

The prices of eye lift are derived from a survey of plastic surgeons that are certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery.

The eye lift typical costs include the surgeon's fee, anesthesia fee, operating room fee, and (where appropriate) the product fee - especially if the recommended lasers are used. When you call a plastic surgeon's office to inquire about price, make sure you get the whole breakdown. Costs in the United States are the same from coast to coast and across the Midwest. The only exception is the New York area, where you are expected to pay about 50% more. This is the typical breakdown for the costs:
Surgeon's fee -- $2000 - 3000
Anesthesiologist's fee -- $700
Operating room (facility) fee -- $900
Laser treatment -- $1300
Total -- $6000 - $7000
When you first visit the surgeon, he or she will discuss the surgery and the expected results of the surgery with you. What you would like to improve in appearance, this is your decision. Next you and the surgeon will discuss your motives for and expectations of the surgery as well and the surgeon will have to make sure that you have realistic expectations.

Most patients who have undergone an eyelift surgery can expect some of the following side-effects:
The area around the eye may be swollen, bruised and very tender in the few weeks after the surgery.
If there are any scars (though there usually aren't) they may be a bit pink and somewhat visible in the first few weeks as well. This will fade as the area recovers.
There may be some problems with vision - blurry vision - and the eye itself may be reddened.

In most cases, after the eyelift surgery there is usually minimal pain and you can control it easily with mild pain reliever medications like Tylenol or Advil. Usually, for the first day, after the surgery the patients is asked to put gauze pads soaked with ice water or to put specifically designed ice packs over the eyes in order to reduce swelling and bruising. They should replace the ice packs every twenty minutes or so while staying awake.

--
This article has been published by Awinita Smith whose specialization are in Health related topics and currently writing on Skin Treatment topics for http://www.skintreatmentweb.info.
Hair Surgery

Because of significant surgical advances with improved results, interest in hair replacement surgery has increased significantly during the past decade. Hair loss affects two out of every three men, and one in five women. Some people begin to lose hair in their twenties. Frequent shampooing, poor circulation, wearing hats or any other personal habits are not factors that cause hair loss. For men, heredity is the major factor in hair loss. For women, hormonal changes, including those that occur in menopause, are mainly responsible for female "pattern changes," which include thinning and loss. Accidents, burns, and disease can also trigger hair loss.

If you are suffering from hair loss the following options are now available to you:
•Hair Replacement Surgery
•Hair Integration Systems
•Non-Surgical Hair Replacement
•Laser Hair Replacement
•Female Hair Replacement
•Hormone Replacement
As you well know hair replacement options come in many different forms. These can range from non-surgical hair replacement techniques like hair systems, laser hair replacement and hair replacement pills.

Then there is the surgical method of hair replacement. This is usually in the form of hair grafts or implants.

Propecia has been heralded as a miracle in the hair replacement industry. Propecia claims that it wills all 90% of men to keep all of the hair that they have and that 66% of men grow some of their hair back after treatment.

A monthly dose of Propecia usually costs around $100, and that is at one pill per day. Spread over the course of a year this is $1,200.

Before deciding on hair replacement surgery, ask your facial plastic surgeon to explain the options available for your particular type of hair loss.

Generally hair replacement surgery is a quick and simple procedure that can be done in a matter of hours and for which the patient is completely awake for. Of course a local anesthetic is used to numb the top of the head so the patent feels no pain as the procedure is being done.
If you are not interested in having major surgery and as for the pills; some people just don't want to take a drug everyday to maintain their hair.
There is a middle road, and that is laser hair replacement. The treatment is a very simple process. A micro-laser probes the hair follicles and stimulates the blood flow in the scalp, thus energizing the hair and allowing your hair to live another day.

Laser hair replacement is also relatively inexpensive. It can cost anywhere between $1,500 and $3,000 a year and requires monthly visits. These visits are painless and they are very short, it's barely an inconvenience in your life.

--
This article has been published by Awinita Smith whose specialization are in Health related topics and currently writing on Skin Treatment topics for http://www.skintreatmentweb.info.
If you need to make a change to improve your personality, look and your confidence, there is an answer: Cosmetic plastic surgery.

But you find yourself wondering, “What is plastic surgery?” By definition plastic surgery is any surgical procedure that deals with the reconstruction or improvement of a body part to enhance the shape and appearance of that part of the body.

Whether you are considering facial plastic surgery, breast augmentation, breast reduction or rhinoplasty it is important to make sure that you completely understand the intricacies of the procedure you are interested in before you make your decision. It is important to remember that although plastic surgery usually has more to do with your appearance than function of your body, it is still major surgery and shouldn't be taken lightly.

The great thing about plastic surgery is that benefits can be both physical and emotional, both external and internal.

The effect of plastic surgery depends on the person and the procedure. Most plastic surgery requires that the patient be given general anesthetic so most people wake up after surgery feeling groggy and or nauseous. Some people wake up in pain and others have sore throats and are extremely thirsty, it varies. Usually it takes two or three hours to recover from the effects of anesthetic.

The risks of plastic surgery will differ depending on the individual and the procedure they opt for.

Scarring is one of the most common risks that people considering plastic surgery should be aware of. Most surgeons will try to hide incision lines in places where they aren't noticeable, like under the crease of the breast in breast augmentation plastic surgery and in the hairline in facial plastic surgery, but most surgeries will still result in permanent scarring.

Bleeding, infection and hematomas are possible after surgery, but if these complications are caught early on they can usually be treated.

Before you undergo plastic surgery it is important to have blood tests and a physical done to ensure that you are a good candidate for surgery.
Breast augmentation is one of the most popular plastic surgery procedures in the United States Known within the medical world as augmentation mammoplasty; breast augmentation refers to a surgical procedure in which the size and shape of a person's breast tissue are enhanced through the implementation of breast implants.

There are many reasons behind breast surgery. One may want to correct disproportionate look of the body or may be having problems with breast.

Breast augmentation surgery will not improve nipple asymmetry, move your breasts closer together, lift droopy breasts, or remove stretch marks.

There is no clear-cut answer to how much breast augmentation costs. Breast augmentation costs will vary from city to city depending on the availability of board certified plastic surgeons that perform this treatment.

Breast aesthetics are important to all women. In order to have breasts which fit your body size and shape, you may consider a breast augmentation, breast lift, or breast reduction.

Breast reduction is an operative procedure in which breast tissue and excess breast skin are removed. The removal of breast tissue results in a smaller breast. Removal of excess skin results in a breast that is higher on the chest wall and more aesthetic. This is an important component of this operation, because it allows the breast to be restored to a youthful appearance and shape. If excess skin were not removed, the breast would actually look worse following breast reduction than before surgery.

The only drawback to removing excess skin is that it necessarily causes scars. Fortunately, the scars can be limited to areas that are hidden when you are wearing a bra - they are located around the nipple, below the nipple, and along the crease beneath the breast. The scars fade after surgery, but it can take years for them to do so.

Many men strive to develop their pectoral muscles for a look of bulk and projection. Some men work out extensively and are still unable to develop the pectoral muscles that they hope to achieve. Fortunately for them, it is possible to enlarge the appearance of their chest muscles (pectoralis muscles, "pec" muscles, or simply "pecs") by placing solid silicone implants.

--
This article has been published by Awinita Smith whose specialization are in Health related topics and currently writing on Skin Treatment topics for http://www.skintreatmentweb.info.
The skin is essentially the largest organ in the body and performs many vital roles as both a barrier and a regulating influence between the outside world and the controlled environment within the body.

Skin type differs between individuals; sensitive skin is skin that stings easily, especially during or just after cleansing. Oily skin attracts dirt and bacteria and may lead to acne and pimples. Normal skin also needs regular regime for health.

Water alone as a cleanser is not quite enough: removing dirt and grease that sticks to the skin forms a major aspect of cleansing. Use of soaps in skincare will dry the skin and lead to itchiness. Lemon (Citrus Limon) and honey (Meldespumatum) are alternatives to soap as lemon removes grime and oil while honey has antibacterial, antiseptic properties and prevents scar formation.
