As kids, we spent our summer days playing outdoors, visiting our friends, going to ball fields, pools, and parks, running to the store for candy, and going on countless other important missions. The interesting thing is that, most of the time, we got to these places without our parents driving us. Back then, our main conveyances were bikes, trikes, skates, and wagons.
These alternate forms of transportation were crucial to our big plans. Of course, our primary vehicles were our bicycles. They could take us to the parades, the picnics, the ponds, and the pools; but they had their limitations. After all, we needed our equipment as well. If we were playing in the game, we had to take our balls, bats, gloves, and the other trappings of the sport of the day. When we went on picnics, we had to carry our bags and baskets of food, containers for our drinks, and plastic plates, cups, and utensils. When we went swimming, we needed towels, inner tubes, inflatable rings and rafts, and our essential snacks (which, of course, we wouldn’t eat within an hour before going into the water, right?).
Even though many of us had baskets on our bicycles, they simply did not have the capacity for all of the things that we had to carry with us. Beyond all of the necessities that we packed up for our outings, we also had to consider the important finds that we would bring back from these excursions. Where would we put those?
That’s where our wagons came in. Wow. Wagons. When’s the last time you thought about how vital a wagon was when you were a kid? A wagon made everything possible. With a wagon, you could stock up for a picnic, or a trip around the world. If you had to take your little brother along when you wanted to play with your friends, it wasn’t so bad if you could pull him in a wagon. A wagon could hold all of the fish and crawdads that you caught in the creek, as well as the valuable rocks that you found. Furthermore, when a water balloon battle broke out in the neighborhood, you always had the upper hand when you had a whole wagon full of them.
Today, even with all of the high-tech toys that seem to be crowding out the old favorites, the magical wagon still exists; and it’s still just as much fun as it was for us. At CedarStore.com, you’ll find over a dozen fun, colorful wagons that will open up new worlds of adventure to kids.
CedarStore.com has wagons, with up to 1,100 pound load capacities, constructed from powder-coated steel and hardwood, and steel flatbed wagons available in two sizes. There’s even a great trailer wagon that can be hooked up to a bicycle.
Visit CedarStore.com to see their entire line of outdoor products, including scooters, trikes, picnic tables, patio chairs, and lawn games, made just for kids. While you’re there, you can browse one of the largest selections of outdoor and patio furniture available.
There are many good reasons for owning a gazebo. For starters, it’s one of the best and fastest ways to improve your home’s landscape, as it will instantly beautify your backyard or garden. Moreover, there’s also a good chance that a gazebo will increase the value of your property.
Another great thing about a gazebo is that, unlike other, more dubious lawn ornaments, such as gnomes, fake geese, flamingos, deer, and the old lady bending and tending her petaled bloomers, while displaying her polka-dotted ones, you’ll never tire of looking at it. Also unlike those lawn ornaments, a gazebo is not merely a lawn ornament. Even though it packs more picturesque pulchritude per pound than anything you’d purchase purely to please your peepers, a gazebo is as practical as it is pretty, performing a plethora of purposes.
Some people use their gazebos simply for relaxation and meditation, as they read, nap, or enjoy the sounds and scents of their gardens. Others want them for entertainment pavilions, where they can host get-togethers, casual and formal. One of the most popular ways to use a gazebo is to install a hot tub in it, and create a backyard spa. Many folks enjoy turning their gazebos into grand arbors, trellises, or pergolas, by planting ivies, vines, and climbing flowers nearby, and letting them have their way with the gazebo. These “living” gazebos can be absolutely stunning.
There is a growing number of people who go all the way with their gazebos, installing electricity, plumbing, extra doors, windows, solid wood walls, vinyl siding, sealed floors, insulation, fans, and special lighting. With all of these amenities, as gazebo can be used year-round, as a cottage, summerhouse, guesthouse, home office, or anything else that one can imagine.
If you’re ready to get in on the gazebo fun, you’ll be glad to see how easy it is, when you go to GazeboCreations.com. Voted the Internet’s most user friendly and comprehensive gazebo website, it features cedar, treated pine, and vinyl gazebos in several sizes and shapes. At GazeboCreations.com, you can choose one of their pre-designed gazebos, or customize one in a few easy steps. Using their Gazebo Wizard, you can select the material, size, and style of your gazebo, and pick from dozens of options for flooring, roofing, railings, wiring, staining, and much more.
Almost every home has a garden, or, at least, a version of one. Sometimes, it’s simply a small patch of daisies growing wild; sometimes, it’s an expensive mix of flowers, trees, plants, and shrubs, carefully selected to create a specific effect, complement the color of the house or, perhaps, to match the garden furniture.
It’s easy to tell, by looking at someone’s garden, whether that person is one who doesn’t care much for yard work, and is satisfied with whatever flora just happens to be there, or somebody who takes great pride in the way her or his yard looks. Some people hire landscape architects to devise elaborate designs for their yards, while others consider it a pleasure to spend hours digging, planting, pruning, watering, and weeding, and seeding their own gardens.
You don’t even have to live in a house to have a nice garden. Many people who live in apartments spend a lot of time and money on gorgeous flowers and plants for their balconies and terraces. It really doesn’t matter whether it’s a trailer, an apartment, a cabin, or a tent; if it has any kind of garden, it usually has garden furniture.
When you think about it, garden furniture really is essential to the scheme of things. After all, your garden is your personal haven, and it would be difficult to enjoy it fully if you had no place to sit down and relax. Furthermore, a garden is also a great place to entertain and socialize, and you sure can’t have your guests standing around with no place to sit, or to set their drinks and snacks. Truly, furnishing your garden is just as important as furnishing your home, and you go about it in much the same way. After all, when you’ve gone to a lot of trouble to orchestrate the flowers and the decorations in your garden, and have created the ideal atmosphere, you want the furniture to support that ambience, as well as reflect your preferences and tastes.
Not too long ago, it was a frustrating challenge trying to achieve the same level of perfection in outdoor furniture as was possible indoors, because the styles and colors available were severely limited. Today, however, all of that has changed, and the possibilities are endless. If you haven’t seen all of the latest in garden furniture, it’s time to visit CedarStore.com.
CedarStore.com has an unbelievable collection of garden furniture, in colors, styles, and designs that are so vast, that the furniture can set the tone for the décor all on its own. With a knockout selection of garden benches, chairs, tables, dining, bar, and bistro sets, swings, end tables, ottomans, lounges, gliders, porch swings, and more, CedarStore.com has everything you need to furnish your garden, porch, deck, patio, or gazebo. You’ll also find an incredible range of materials, from durable, decay-resistant cedar, treated pine, oak, cherry, and teak, to virtually indestructible vinyl, aluminum, and polywood.
CedarStore.com also has design consultants and customer service professionals to assist you with all of your questions. To contact them, call 1-888-293-2339, or e-mail contact@cedarstore.com.

--
Outdoor Furniture | Patio Furniture | Porch Furniture

Source: http://www.articletrader.com

If so, that’s a fantasy that you share with millions of others. Perhaps, the only thing that’s holding you back is the just-as-common fear that you don’t know enough about gazebos to choose one that’s right for your needs, or to find a company that you can trust to deliver a high-quality structure. On top of that, there’s the worry about the kind of service that you’ll get after you make your purchase.
As with any other goal that you have in life, you realize, intellectually, that you shouldn’t let fear stop you; but your gut tells you that, in this case, at least, you have some legitimate concerns.
When you’re out in the sun for some summer fun, whether you’re at the beach, the park, or in your own backyard, it’s easy to forget about protecting yourself from harmful UV rays. Like most of us, when you’re caught up in the joy of doing the things that you dreamt about all through last winter – which will also have to sustain you through the coming winter – you often forget about putting on sunscreen. Even if you don’t remember to stop and buy a bottle of lotion, however, a patio or beach umbrella is a great way to shield yourself from the sun.
Actually, an umbrella should be just as much a required part of your summer gear as your bathing suit, inflatable raft, volleyball and net, picnic table, grill, and shorts. After all, it does so much more than just defend your skin – and that’s doing plenty, by the way. With all of the colors and styles available, an umbrella is just as much a fashion statement as your outdoor furniture, lawn ornaments, and other décor. So, as long as you’re out spending the time shopping for the perfect picnic table, dining set, and patio furniture, it makes a lot of sense to get an umbrella as well.
In fact, as long as you’re being sensible, the most prudent thing to do is to forgo the long hours, the heat, the crowds, and the traffic, and do your shopping from the comfort of your own home. At AllPicnicTables.com, you’ll find an amazing assortment of Patio, Market, Beach, Traditional, and Commercial Umbrellas, to complement any motif.
These umbrellas can save more than your skin. They can also save a party when the sun gives way to rain. Umbrellas from AllPicnicTables.com can also endure the other elements, including high winds, for years, and never lose their good looks. Available in dozens of colors, and virtually limitless color combinations, as well as several sizes, styles, and shapes, there’s an umbrella to fit every porch, patio, deck, backyard, and gazebo.
Umbrellas from AllPicnicTables.com are available with sturdy wood and aluminum poles and frames, with pulley, crank, push-button, and manual lift, as well as tilt and no-tilt features. Umbrella materials include vinyl and breathable fabrics, offering up to 100% UV protection, which are water-repellent, easy to clean, and mildew-resistant.
AllPicnicTables.com also offers a fantastic variety of picnic, patio, dining, bistro, bar, terrace, and accent tables, in cedar, pine, teak, oak, cherry, aluminum, vinyl, and polywood.
To see the entire selection, visit AllPicnicTables.com.
Garden Bridges Going Up in Popularity

Over the past several years, there has been a trend in this country, wherein millions of people have been leaving their homes to live in the great outdoors. Tired of the confinement that they feel in their houses, they are making the break, and choosing to rough it – sort of. You see, using good old American ingenuity, they’ve found a way to bridge the gap between the hinterlands, and the safety of home and hearth. After spending the day in the wilderness, they simply retreat to the security of the old homestead, and sleep snugly in their own beds.
It’s called outdoor living, a phrase that’s been around for quite awhile, but which has a much different meaning than it had just decades ago. While, back then, it meant merely spending some time sitting out on the porch, or having a cookout on the patio once in awhile, today, for as much of the year as they can get away with, people are virtually living outdoors.
It’s difficult to pinpoint one particular reason for this movement. Perhaps because of the new level of stress that the 21st century has ushered in, people are seeking solace in their own backyards, turning them into veritable outdoor rooms, and furnishing them as comfortably and lavishly as any room in their homes. Comfort is paramount in this equation; and, since there aren’t many things in this world that have as comforting an effect as the sound of a babbling brook, water has become one of the dominant elements in many of these backyard sanctuaries.
No longer solely the province of those lucky enough to have natural sources of water on their properties, today, millions of water gardens, ponds, reflecting pools, fountains, and waterfalls, are being installed by homeowners. With the prevalence of water rising, the popularity of garden bridges is going up as well. In fact, because bridges inspire a feeling of tranquility, and bring picturesque charm to any landscape, people are putting them into their gardens, water or not.
At <a href='http://www.gazebocreations.com>GazeboCreations.com, you’ll find one of the largest selections of beautiful garden and pedestrian trail bridges available, in a variety of materials, such as #1 Select Pine, pressure treated pine, red and white cedar, vinyl, and Dura-Temp.
GazeboCreations.com has a wide range of sizes and styles, including plank, single and double rail, spindle rail, and picket and half-picket rail bridges. For the ultimate in nostalgic enchantment, it also features gorgeous covered bridges, available with or without lattice, which you can customize right on the site. If you want to create a truly astonishing spectacle, you can choose the fantastic Opti-Breeze™ Bridge.
To see the entire selection of garden bridges, as well as gazebos, sheds, cabanas, and other garden structures, visit gazebocreations.com.
In the summertime, we spend a lot of time outdoors, eating meals at our picnic tables, doing yard work, or just lazing around. For many people, summer is the best season of the year; but it can also be the most hazardous.
We’re always reading articles and hearing news stories telling us about summer’s perils, and advising us of the best ways to stay safe, in the sun, in the water, and while handling fireworks. There are also warnings about precautions we should take with food, especially at picnics, when things may be left outside for longer periods of time; but some unpleasant possibilities get less press.
Many of us, when grilling or barbecuing meat, smoke it, to enhance the flavor. Several kinds of woods can be used, and each has its own, distinct flavor and characteristics. While hickory, mesquite, and oak, are some of the most popular ones, there are a lot more that can add delicious tastes to meat; but, using the wrong types of woods can do a lot worse than to simply ruin good meat.
One danger is that there are many kinds of trees that contain toxins, which can survive the cooking process. Wood from a conifer, such as pine, fir, spruce, redwood, cedar, or cypress, should never be used for smoking, as it can cause people to get very sick.
Another potential problem comes from used wood that has been treated with chemicals, because whatever is on or in the wood will get onto and into the meat as you smoke it. Therefore, you should not use scrap wood, because you can never be sure what kind of wood it is, what it was used for (it could have been part of an old outhouse!), or whether or not it has been treated with chemicals. Wood that has been stained or painted may contain chemicals, or, if the paint is very old, lead. Other questionable sources include furniture manufacturers, who often treat their wood with chemicals, and wood from old pallets, which could have been treated, or exposed to heaven-knows-what (and you probably don’t want to know!). You should also avoid old wood with mold or fungus on it, as it can, at the very least, give your meat a horrible taste.
On the bright side, if you’re looking for a great source of superior wood, all you have to do is to go to AllPicnicTables.com. While you can’t use their wood to smoke meats, it is of such superior quality that you could eat off it; in fact, that’s the exact purpose of it.
AllPicnicTables.com has a fantastic collection of tables that are crafted from cedar, pine, oak, teak, and cherry. These decay-resistant picnic tables, available in all sizes and shapes, including rectangular, round, hexagonal, and octagonal, are durable, decay-resistant, and designed to last for decades.
At AllPicnicTables.com, you’ll also find colorful tables, benches, and chairs, made from thermo-plastic coated steel, polywood, vinyl, and aluminum, which are nearly indestructible.
To see the entire selection of beautiful, long-lasting picnic tables, visit AllPicnicTables.com.
Summertime has an amazing effect on people. No one knows exactly why, but perhaps it’s the progression of our moods, in relation to the seasons. Although some of us love the cold weather, most people feel oppressed and restricted by the severity of winter. Then, the spring, with its promise of warmer weather, renews our hope and our spirits. So, by the time that summer arrives, we’re bursting at the seams to go out and conquer the world. At the end of a day’s adventures, however, one of the most important rituals of summer is coming home and relaxing on our comfortable porch furniture.
Whether it’s a swing, glider, rocker, or an Adirondack chair, our favorite piece of porch furniture holds a magnetic charm that keeps us coming back, day after day. It’s a part of our summer that’s just as important as anything else we’re planning to do, including taking a vacation. In fact, no matter how luxurious the resort where we’re staying, or how long we’ve looked forward to going there, odds are that each of us will miss sitting in our favorite chair while we’re away. Furthermore, it will probably be one of the first things that we head for when we get home.
The best part is that, these days, with the increasing number of enclosed porches, patios, and gazebos, instead of having just a season or two to enjoy our porch furniture, we can use it all year long. This has created a new attitude toward outdoor furniture, which, instead of simply being a part of our summer, is a part of our homes, and, in many cases, central to the décor. In fact, it’s evolving in many ways.
Besides being used throughout the year, and being incorporated into the motif (or, perhaps, because of that), porch furniture is now available in many revolutionary styles and colors. There are also several new materials, as well as improvements in the old ones.
If you’re not familiar with all of the current choices, all you have to do is to visit CedarStore.com. From conventional to contemporary, their selection of porch swings, chairs, gliders, garden benches, ottomans, coffee tables, end tables, picnic tables, and dining, bar, and bistro sets, is astonishing.
The wide range of materials is quite impressive as well.
As is the case with many words in our language, the etymology of the word, barbecue, is a bit murky. While its origin may not matter to the thousands of people who think of it as simply being a huge outdoor feast eaten at a picnic table, to true barbecue aficionados, it means the world.
It seems fitting that there is so much disagreement about where the word comes from, since the definition of what constitutes a proper barbecue has been hotly debated for generations. Regional differences in opinion on everything from the meat that’s being barbecued, to the wood used for smoking it, and the sauces used to season it, have made it, literally, a bone of contention (hey, maybe that’s where that expression originated – but that’s another article!).
Although many theories have been advanced, from the plausible to the preposterous, it is generally accepted that the word, barbecue, is derived from the West Indian word, barbacoa, which is a raised platform or framework for supporting meat, as it is slow-cooked over hot coals. It is speculated that the colonists adopted this method of slow-roasting meat, and that barbacoa became barbecue in the vernacular of the early settlers.
While the natives, who were first observed using the barbacoa, often cooked venison and whole turkeys, in the South, where many claim that the barbecue, as we know it, originated, pork became the staple of the spit. It’s easy to understand how this happened, because, in the “barbecue belt” states, which include Louisiana, Missouri, Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina, pigs were a ubiquitous source of food. Pigs were also low-maintenance, as they could roam free to forage for their own food, effectively fattening themselves up for their own slaughters, which were festive occasions, wherein entire communities were invited to share in the food and celebrations. This is believed to be the way that the traditional Southern barbecue originated.
Since then, all of the ingredients of the barbecue, including rubs, sauces, woods used for smoking the meat, the types of meat, and everything else involved in its preparation, have varied, not only from state to state, but from region to region.
When it comes to enjoying the feast, however, everyone knows that you can’t have a decent barbecue without a beautiful, durable picnic table; and there’s no argument about where to find the best one. AllPicnicTables.com has one of the widest selections of picnic tables available anywhere.
Most of us love having cookouts and eating at our picnic tables. That’s no surprise. What’s interesting is that many people enjoy cooking the food more than eating it. There’s something about the ritual of the preparation, which begins even before the cooking begins, that sparks a sense of camaraderie and cooperation among those in attendance, especially when they consider themselves master grillers or barbecuers.
Well, it’s true, what they say about too many cooks; and if it were only broth that they were spoiling, it wouldn’t be a huge tragedy. However, when you’re having a barbecue, whether you’re cooking a chicken, ribs, a pork shoulder, or anything else, it’s the main attraction. It’s the thing that has had your guests’ mouths watering for days, and if you ruin it, you’re going to disappoint a whole lot of people. So, when it’s your show, make sure that you take charge of the smoker, and don’t let anyone make you feel like a tyrant about it.
BUT – and this is a biggie – if you are not an experienced barbecuer, don’t try to do it yourself. In fact, unless you have a friend who’s an expert, and willing to take charge of the whole process for you, you’d better take some time to practice before you even think about inviting people over. It’s more difficult than it looks, and even a few small missteps can devastate a perfectly good cut of meat.
First, realize that it’s no sin to be a beginner, and that it takes more than a chef’s hat and an apron with a hilarious saying on it to make you an expert. Remember, just as barbecuing is a slow process, so is becoming proficient at it. One of the biggest mistakes made by beginners is being over-eager. Many times, they go out and get a smoker, then invite people over for the next weekend – or, worse, the next day. Don’t do that. Get to know your smoker, by starting small, and experimenting – this is important – on yourself! Start off with something simple, inexpensive, and hard to ruin, like a chicken or a pork picnic roast, and cook only one at a time, until you have done a few successfully.
Indeed, there’s much to be learned about barbecuing, and it takes someone who really knows what he or she is doing. When it comes to picnic tables, however, all you need to know, you’ll find at AllPicnicTables.com.
Besides having one of the largest selections of picnic tables available anywhere, AllPicnicTables.com is packed with information to help you choose the one that’s right for you. You’ll find out all about the different materials, which include cedar, pine, oak, teak, cherry, thermo-plastic coated steel, polywood, vinyl, and aluminum, that are used for constructing the picnic tables, the benefits of each, and how to maintain them. You can even learn the history of the picnic, and where the word originated.
AllPicnicTables.com is a fun site, dedicated to the ultimate enjoyment of outdoor living.
