I had just come off the squash court the other day after playing a robust and extremely energetic game. I usually play twice a week with my friend. He had just returned after two weeks holiday and it was his first game back for about three weeks.

His energy levels seemed to be somewhat depleted. Was it due to the fact he had been on holiday? I remembered he had quit smoking about four months earlier. When he was smoking I noticed his energy level fell off considerably at about the half hour mark. So I asked him “Have you been smoking on holiday?” The answer as you can probably guess was yes.

You know it is simply amazing the hold that cigarettes can have on people. I remembered going into a corner store once and asking a woman who was serving for a particular magazine. When she answered she sounded like a Dalek. The reason was she had had a tracheotomy (a tube inserted in the windpipe after a bout of cancer) so the sounds of her voice were like a rushing gurgling wind.

What shocked me the most was seeing her later stood outside the store holding a lighted cigarette to the tube at her throat and inhaling the smoke? She’d had cancer and yet in spite of all the suffering she had been through and the wakeup call she had just had still she just couldn’t quit smoking. Smoking is a demon!

Let’s be clear about this smoking habit. It is no small addiction and every one who quits has done themselves and their loved ones an immense favor. If you are looking for an easy way to stop smoking there isn’t one or a stop smoking pill they don’t exist.

If you are truly determined to stop smoking you must realize that you can only break a habit by replacing it with other habits. You cannot and must not think that because you have completed a period of time without cigarettes that you have finally quit smoking. I don’t care if it is six weeks six months or six years you have to realize that “Once a smoker, always a smoker”. If you ever let your guard down you will succumb to the psychological factors that cause you to regress.

Every reformed smoker knows what I am talking about. The thoughts hit you, “I know I can quit now so just one or two at the weekend will be O.K. Sorry it won’t be, you’ll be back on them before you know it. You have to admit to yourself much like an alcoholic you are reformed and if you want to stop smoking it is a lifetime habit. If you treat the process any other way you will more than likely fail.

Yes I will continue to encourage my friend to quit smoking again. And he will probably need some help to make the initial break but beyond that time the psychological battle begins…..and continues.

--
Hal says; find out more tips secrets, and useful information on your health and your heart by signing up for his FREE newsletter at. http://www.thehealthyu.com/

Source: http://www.articletrader.com

You never see it but it lives inside you. It does it's best to serve you from the moment you are born to last minute of your life. It is a muscle that is only the size of your fist and yet it is probably the strongest muscle in your body.

It is your heart muscle.

If you look after it it will look after you. If you abuse it it will kill you! If you manage to live until you are seventy then it will beat for you over two and a half billion times-yes that’s right, amazing isn’t it.

You can help it or you can hinder it. If you are like me you probably never even bothered thinking about it for years. I just took it for granted. After all when you are young you actually believe you are invulnerable. I think we almost believe we will live forever. Life seems to be an unlimited resource and getting old seems so far far away. After all you are just here to have a good time aren’t you? Why should you worry about your heart. There is enough to worry about!

So you abuse your heart by your lifestyle, part of which you are conscious of and part of which you don’t even know about. But you are a normal sort of person and you tend to believe what you read in the papers and what you see and hear on the television.

So when they tell you to leave the butter alone and eat margarine instead as it is better for you. You of course believe and act accordingly. In actual fact one of the the great modern day causes of heart disease is MARGARINE or rather the trans-fats that it contains.

You see when margarine was first invented it was far to ‘runny’ so it had to be thickened up somehow. It was found that heating the vegetable oils caused them to solidify. The name given to this process was ‘hydrogenation’. But these killer fats bind themsleves with other ‘goo’ to your arteries and form plaque.

The more your arteries close the more strain it puts on your heart, the bigger the pressure buildup and the ticking bomb is on count down ………. continued

--
Hal says; find out more tips secrets, and useful information on health and your heart by signing up for his FREE newsletter at. http://www.thehealthyu.com/

Source: http://www.articletrader.com

Following the birth of your lovely child like millions of other families around the world you were the proudest of parents. Also like many others you sought to preserve your very precious memories of your baby photos in photo albums. And it is still probably the best way to preserve those memories.

Now assuming you are an average type of person which I am sure you are, Then you like us will have collected many albums over the years. It is great to get them all out once in a while and sit together and go through them. The memories they bring back to you are really something else.

They say a picture is worth a thousand words but your baby photos are worth a thousand memories. A picture of a loved one has the power to transport you back to a time and a place. My mother speaks of the ‘secret garden’ of her memories. I believe we all have one and quite often a picture can be the gateway into our own gardens, especially our baby photos.

One of the problems that you can have with so many photo albums is that as you turn the pages you leave behind the memories of the last page and then move on to the next. So you can tend to lose the sense of the ‘whole’ but there is a way which you can capture the overview of your baby photos and your memories every once in a while. This is how you can do it.

My partner had a birthday recently and we decided to have a party. One of the things we did was to get out all our old photograph albums including the loose ones and of course your baby photos. I got hold of three large pieces of card one metre wide and two metre’s long. I punched holes along the top of the card and then threaded a piece of string through the holes leaving plenty spare at either end. Then I put sticky tape down the joins of each piece of card. The result was one very large ‘white board’ which we strung up between two adjacent doorways in the kitchen.

We then selected from all our photo albums all the photos we wanted to put up on our collage. We were careful to mark the back of each picture with a letter coding for the album it came from and a number which represented its place in a particular album. My partner had grouped all the baby photos together and then organized the rest according to a theme.

For instance when we got married, when we lived in another country, musical pictures etc (I play the guitar) and others. In the centre we had our baby photos as a centre piece. We fixed each photo in place with double sided tape or you can use blue-tac. We then had a brilliant collage of photos showing an overview of a part of our lives with the baby photos as a centre piece. Additionally we added captions to the groups, some normal some humorous.

Needless to say our party went down a treat. The collage of photos was a major talking point. Many of our friends were included in the pictures so they just loved seeing themselves and their kids too. So remember if a picture is worth a thousand words your baby photos and are worth a thousand memories.

--
http://www.yourbabyadvice.com For more great tips about your baby photos, baby room décor or baby shower decorations visit our website http://www.yourbabyadvice.com where you will also find more ideas tips and information for your baby.

Source: http://www.articletrader.com

What The Doctors Aren't Telling You About Your Health - Obesity

The doctors and the cardiologists that I was referred to during my experience could not correlate my chest pains to heart disease.

They did give it a label though (as they like to) they called it “Ischemic heart condition” which in essence means a partial arterial blockage. But then I would think 85% of the country’s population is currently experiencing the same condition.

After six months the medical profession needed ’closure’. They were all agreed I should continue with the ‘insurance’. In doctor speak that meant ‘keep on taking your current cocktail of drugs’. My decision to break with the establishment and take responsibility for my own health was a difficult one-but I did it and two and a half years later I am thankful.

My research into all aspects of health and well being intensified and I discovered a number of profound truths about our human body. How it functions, what it needs, what goes wrong and in many cases why. But more importantly the kind of environment it needs to ‘heal itself’.

Today I am going to focus on one of the most important factors in the development of heart disease; it is obesity. It is a key factor that I cannot stress enough.

Excess fat increases the strain on the heart and contributes to high blood pressure and high blood cholesterol. Fatty deposits stick to artery walls, they solidify and become plaque. Over time the artery continues to narrow and become choked or a piece of plaque breaks away and gets trapped in the heart-HEART ATTACK!

So you need to lose weight but how much? And how should you go about losing it? Let me point out a couple of things. Don’t focus on WEIGHT focus on FAT. Comparing yourself against another person’s weight is the wrong kind of focus. The only way to tell if you are overweight or fat is to determine YOUR ideal BODY MASS.

Just let me say that you should never try to lose weight to the point of getting rid of all your excess fat. Your body needs some fat in order to survive and if you try to eliminate all fat your liver will produce fat as it needs a place to store impurities until it can get rid of them through your blood.

So don’t go over the top in losing all your fat-that’s the first little secret.

You should have also realized by now just what fat is and how the body uses fat. Yes that’s right. It’s the body’s storage system for toxins and impurities. So if you are considerably overweight just think about the additional baggage of toxins and poisons you are carry around with you daily! Do you really want to hang on to all that poison? That’s the second little secret.

There is a very simple but very useful indicator that you can use to determine whether or not you are at risk of heart disease from being over fat. Quite simply it’s your waist measurement. If you are a man and your waist measurement is above 40 inches or a woman above 35 inches your tummy fat is telling you are probably in the high risk category for heart disease. You need to lose weight!

In my next letter I’ll teach you the secrets of ‘Transitioning’ a process that will help you to change your diet effectively and permanently. Until then be well!

--
Hal says; find out more tips secrets, and useful information on health and your heart by signing up for his FREE newsletter at. http://www.thehealthyu.com/

Source: http://www.articletrader.com

It took me two weeks to start smoking and twenty five years to quit!

I tried every method under the sun. I graduated every course available with honors and went right back to it as soon as the course was over. I was your proverbial lifetime smoker.

If any one could never give up it was me. I enjoyed some of the smoking some of the time but over the years came to hate the need to always have a cigarette to hand.

It would strike fear in my heart if I thought I was going to run out.

And it's funny but you start to associate almost every situation with a cigarette. As a reward, as a tension reliever, when your excited, when your depressed. Some bright spark once said "The three finest things in life are a drink before and a smoke after" I knew what he was talking about.

Look it's absolutely no use telling a smoker of all the dangers of smoking, they know. They don't need you to tell them that.

They have known it for all the years that they have been smoking. Their problem is not being educated about the dangers of smoking. No! Their problem is how they are going to quit. As Mark Twain once said "Quitting smoking is easy I've done it a thousand times".

Every smoker I know has tried many times to give up and failed.

I have never met one smoker who has said to me. I am perfectly happy with smoking, I love it. It is the best thing I have ever did. No! Most smokers have tried to give up and the only thing they have given-up is trying to give up smoking!

If you want to quit smoking you have to understand just what it is that you are dealing with and approach it in the right manner.

Cigarettes are one of the most addictive and destructive drugs known to man. Cigarette smoking has not only been put on a par with Crack Cocaine it has actually been proved it is more addictive than Crack Cocaine. Yes! Let that sink in! More addictive than Crack!

More to follow ...

--
Hal says; find out more tips secrets, and useful information on health and your heart by signing up for his FREE newsletter at. http://www.thehealthyu.com/

Source: http://www.articletrader.com

You know when you think about it your child is the most beautiful creature that ever walked the earth.

The bond that is in our hearts for our children is so strong it is easy for us to believe they can do no wrong. And of course when they begin to grow and interact with other children quite often that concept is tested.

However for the moment let us appreciate that our children are very very special indeed. When we think about our little girl our little beauty we want to dress her in the prettiest most beautiful of dresses we can find. So we will go to great lengths to find the best baby girl dresses that exist.

Now not only do the dresses need to be as near perfect as possible but they also need to show off your lovely daughter in the very best light possible. Sourcing your baby girl dresses is a job you need to do but it is also a job that you can delight in doing.

When we look for the best baby girl dresses I believe our shopping search should be value based. Let me explain. I believe most of us are quite prepared to spend that little bit more of our hard earned money if we believe we are getting good or appropriate value for the purchase price. In other words we have to believe it is worth while to spend that little bit more otherwise we won’t. But additionally we need to bear in mind who we are buying for. It’s not for ourselves it is for our beautiful pride and joy.

It is a good idea to keep in mind that children grow up so fast. You can end up spending a great deal on your little treasure only to find out that she has grown out of the clothing in a very short period of time. In my opinion it is best to set a budget that you can afford. With money set aside you won’t feel bad about spending.

So where is the best place to shop for your baby girl dresses and where can you get the best value for our money?

Personally I think the best place to start your search is on the Internet and I’ll tell you why. The reason is simple it is so easy to identify a whole range of products and makes fashions and fads, they are all out there.

I wouldn’t be too concerned about price at present. Just trawl the internet and identify what it is that you like in particular. The internet takes all the hassle out of searching. You don’t have to drag the family round the shops and you can do it in the comfort of your own home.

Once you have identified the best baby girl dresses then you can begin your search to find the best price and quality. Visit your local shops it is quite surprising what you will find there. If you have done your research right you will all ready know how much you should be paying for those products and therefore will be able to spot a bargain when you see one.

If you can’t find a better price in your local shops then go back on line and order those special baby girl dresses over the internet and show that lovely young lady off to your family and friends.

--
http:// yourbabyadvice.com For more great tips ideas and information on Baby Girl Dresses and of course lots of Your Baby Advice visit our website below. http://www.yourbabyadvice.com

Source: http://www.articletrader.com

How To Get The Best Baby Advice Possible

You know if there is one thing that people are really good at it is giving advice. In every field in every walk of life there are people who are quite happy to point out that you are going in the wrong direction and then point you in the right direction.

When it comes to your baby advice it really is quite hard to make your own mind up from all the advice you are given.

So who do you listen to?

Sometimes one of the worst groups of people for giving advice can be parents. Now I know what you are going to say, that they mean well and only have the best intentions at heart. But they can be misguided. I’m sure they sincerely believe that because they are older than you they are expected to have all the answers.

If they don’t come up with the answers then their kids will think that they are stupid. Now my mother (bless her) just happens to be an expert in everything from brain surgery to quantum mechanics including your baby advice and she is always very willing to share her knowledge and advice with you whether you need it or not.

I think that as she is getting older she has lost that special place of being needed and she is trying her hardest to find another niche (poor lass).

But I do wish parents would begin to understand that they can’t fix everything and they definitely don’t have all the answers.

Now that I have got that off my chest I have to say that in a lot of cases what they say does make sense. And I have found that as they get older (in most cases) they start to realize what they are doing and slowly, very slowly they begin to listen (unless you my mum of course).

So when looking for your baby advice who should you listen to?

The best way of working to my mind is to take it all into the grey matter. Sift it through carefully. Throw out what is useless and retain what makes sense. Yes remember that word-sense or call it common sense is always paramount.

So think about who you might want to ask about your baby advice. Speak to a trusted friend, a girlfriend that is also a mother and reasonably close to you in years that way her experiences will not be so far away from yours that she can’t remember her experiences properly.

Another good idea is also to include a professional or two like a doctor or a nurse. Both of these would be especially good for your baby advice.

You should also remember that every persons experience does not fit everyone else’s. We are all different so like I said earlier take it all in and then sort it all out.

You will also get a wide range of good solid baby advice off the Internet. There are many sites out there (including mine) that will teach you good tips and ideas and just plain old common sense.

So spread a wide net. Haul it all in. Have a good think and whatever you do don’t phone my Mum because you will be on the line a VERY LONG TIME.

--
http:// yourbabyadvice.com For more great tips ideas and information, and of course lots of Your Baby Advice visit our website below. http://www.yourbabyadvice.com

Source: http://www.articletrader.com

The medical profession eh! What would we do without them? Medicine and Healthcare today is simply amazing! What can be seen with the micron microscope, what can be reached in the body with wires and cameras, what can be cut out, medicated, killed or neutralized by drugs; mans knowledge knows no limits!

All that knowledge and yet! Consider this: Do you think that the medical profession treats the causes of illness or merely the symptoms. In their growing knowledge have they not lost the plot? Do you not think that they spend their time killing alligators when the original objective was to drain the swamp! If you have an illness don’t they just give you a pill? Was it not Hippocrates the father of medicine that said, "Let food be thy medicine” not drugs!

Don’t get me wrong please, please, please, if I get knocked down in a road accident, or get shot on the battlefield modern day medicine can do amazing things. What I am talking about has become a long lost ‘secret’ to being really healthy-GOOD FOOD. Do you think it is possible to cure most diseases through a good food diet? I do. This is a question we will explore in our journey toward good health.

The doctors and the cardiologists that I was referred to during my experience in the ‘LOOP’ could not correlate my chest pains to heart disease. They all agreed I should continue taking the wonderful cocktail of drugs they had prescribed to keep me alive. My decision to break with the establishment was difficult but I did it. After a couple of fights with the doctor and some fearful feelings and symptoms I came off the beta blockers and the other junk I was taking.

The big question was what next? What do I do now?

Actually I had a good idea of what to do. I had researched intensively and decided there were three things I could do that would collectively promote good health. Exercise, change my eating habits and introduce a supplement to take with my food.

Exercise for me was not a problem I just started playing squash and soccer again. I must admit the doctors had got me spooked. Every little twitch or pain I had, seemed in my mind to be the onset of a heart attack and it took a few weeks to get that mindset out of my head. I don’t know what will work for you as far as exercise but remember I had been playing for years so for me it was just a continuation.

I did change my eating habits. I discovered the main evils in certain so called healthy foods. As I dropped these off I also dropped the pounds off. It just happened! I didn’t aim for it. It was just the result of getting rid of all that crap! I lost 17 pounds in about 2 months and then my weight settled down and my fitness improved.

It actually affected my squash game for several weeks I think because my movement and balance were affected by my weight change. But I was leaner, faster and healthier.

You’ll notice the title of the article ‘transitioning’. What I am saying here is quite simple you cannot change from one lifestyle to another 100% and expect to keep it up. You won’t do it. And if your body has got used to living with all that crap for so many years to take it all away will cause at least some rebellion.

‘Transitioning’ is doing it slowly, sensibly. I believe in the 80/20 rule ‘pick the few that will affect the many’. I haven’t talked about the supplements I took. They were magic-believe me! If you want to find out what they were then read my newsletter.

--
Hal says; find out more tips secrets, and useful information on your health and your heart by signing up for his FREE newsletter at. http://www.thehealthyu.com/

Source: http://www.articletrader.com

What The Doctors Aren't Telling You about Cholesterol and Plaque? Part-2

What you should be doing is changing your eating habits and your lifestyle; doing something about getting rid of that plaque in your system not taking a STATIN...

What exactly is arterial plaque? It's a yellow, swollen area in the middle muscular layer and the lining of your artery. This lining is formed when lipid (fat or fat-like material and other nasty stuff listed below) is built up in the area.

It eventually causes thickening of the artery walls, narrowing of the arteries and stops the flow of blood and oxygen to your heart muscle, brain, and body extremities.

If you want a technical explanation this plaque is a mixture of triglycerides, collagen, phospholipids, fibrin, cholesterol, nucopolysaccharides, heavy metals, foreign proteins, muscle tissue, and other matter which all bonds together with calcium and solidifies.
This mixture is what blocks the artery. I might add that if it isn’t stopped or reversed it will eventually completely block the artery and we all know the result-HEART ATTACK

So what the doctors aren’t telling you is that contrary to popular belief, Cholesterol is only one of the components of arterial plaque.

Additionally lack of oxygen to your heart muscle can cause chest pain. This pain is called Angina. Now if you were for some reason to have a blood clot break free and travel around your arteries what do you think the effect will be when that clot encounters a narrowing in a heart artery? The clot will become wedged in the narrow area causing a blockage and stopping the blood flow, which then results in a sudden heart attack or stroke.

Take care... the heart is nothing to fool with because it will not stand for any mistreatment, and that's exactly what you are doing when you don't take care of your arteries. Your arteries are the only source of oxygen and nutrients that your heart has.

As your arteries clog with plaque, and they do, and they will put your heart at risk. The more plaque, the greater the risk to your heart, and you don't even know what's going on because you can't feel it!

The only way you will tell is if you get an Angina attack or like me something else triggers a trip to the doctors and you get stuck in the loop.

--
Clark says; find out more tips secrets, and useful information on health and your heart by signing up for his FREE newsletter at. http://www.thehealthyu.com/

Source: http://www.articletrader.com

There I was checking at my neighbour’s house after hearing his home alarm system ringing on my way home from work. The cops had arrived to find me standing over a long heavy duty screw-driver that had obviously been the tool used for the attempted break-in.

It certainly looked like I was implicated and I’m sure that’s how the cop saw it. I was clearly in the frame (no pun intended). How was I going to explain this?

Well fortunately for me I didn’t need to do a lot of explaining because right behind the policeman by I’d say ten seconds walked my neighbour John. Thank God! Boy was I glad to see him.

At that point I explained my presence John confirmed my identity the cop did his bit made out his report and was about to leave. John said to him I don’t know what good these this home alarms system is I have just been visited by a burglar.

Then the cop in his wisdom replied; well he didn’t get in did he? And you didn’t lose anything did you? And at least you know you have friends looking out for you now, and if you hadn’t had an alarm going off I wouldn’t be here and you can bet I’ll be watching this area in the future, so count your blessings.

John just looked at me and said I guess that says it all really-c’mon in Bill and have a coffee, and we did.

You see the point of this is all though John had a burglar visit his house and nobody seemed to take notice actually lots of people did. There was me, there was the cop. I found out later that two other neighbours had called it in and at least three other people had called each other and discussed what they should do.

We also need to understand that just because you have a home alarm system it doesn’t mean you are not going to get a visit from a burglar. But what it does mean is that your chances of avoiding loss and an unpleasant experience are greatly reduced by having a home alarm system installed and in good working order.

There is no foolproof system but you greatly improve your chances of not being burgled or the burglar taking off when he hears the alarm or even walking by your house when he sees your home alarm system and so he chooses your neighbours house instead of yours.

Modern home alarm systems are easy to install or have installed. They are relatively inexpensive. They give you confidence when leaving your home for a spell. And you can always upgrade them if you have a little more money to spend in the future.

You can shop around in the high street or find plenty of sellers on the internet. The choice is up to you. Give your self the peace of mind you deserve and get your self a home alarm system

--
Clark says; find out more tips secrets, and useful information on all your ALARM needs. http://www.alarmtips.com

Clark is an Internet Marketer by trade.
