Who else wants more people to their web site? If you're blogging, your income requires a constant flow of patrons and attracting as much as available. Now, how do you invite more readers to your site cheaply and quickly? How can you advance your search engine position on your website's most sought topics and get readers to find your site?

An article directory is a great site to demonstrate your wit, comedy, flair, and skill.

The article directory, aka free reprint directory, is a repository of articles that ezine editors may reprint at no expense. The only catch is that each author's name and backlink to their site must remain attached to the article.

Since these are free reprints, how exactly does an article directory serve you? Article directories assist you by drawing traffic to your website. Webmasters reprint one of your articles to add vital content for their existing readers.Visitors to the website then click on your link and are taken back to your site.

As a result, article directories are a win-win situation - you increase your page views, and the editors using your articles increase their page views.

Articles of any size, purpose, or subject matter may be submitted to an article directory. The process is as effortless a mouse click. The article directory displays your name and site with your article, and everyone who downloads the article has to do likewise. You end up with more readers when people read your content at the free reprint directory, and again as your article is used on another web site and read by viewers og that website.

Even if you choose not to publish your articles, have you thought about using some articles written by other bloggers and writers? Article directories hold a vast array of articles about every imaginable subject, quite a few of them are intentionally authored to be keyword dense. Realize that the care with which you lace keywords into your writing will result in increased search engine traffic!

Since using these articles is free, there's zero risk. Most free reprint articles are written by talented bloggers and writers like you. Don't forget that you can of course select only the free reprint articles you feel pass your quality standards.

If you choose to publish articles on a article reprint directory, take advantage of the endless content available, or maybe even a little of both, you are assured an increase in traffic to your website - and best of all, it's free!

--
Daiv Russell does web marketing copywriting for Envision Software.
Do you have one of the multitudes of small businesses which recently started a site that receives no patrons? Perhaps one of the biggest misconceptions about web marketing is that just having a site will bring you people who become clients - however, that just doesn't appear to work out that way. An unfortunate many believe in what I refer to as "Field of Dreams" web marketing, thinking "If you build it, they will come."

Are you curious:

Why does the web appear useful for some businesses, but not others?

How much time does it take for my website begins coming up in Google?

When will [my site] start earning money?

Is my web site even showing up in Google?
Just because you put up a web site, doesn't instantly mean that Google will find your web site. It's easy to check if Google has indexed your web site by searching on Google for "site:mydomain.tld", as an example, "site:Envision-Web-Promotion.com". If your results come back with any listings at all, Google has found and crawled your site. If your search results come back with the notorious "Your search did not match any documents", they've never heard of you – they just don't know that your web site exists at all.

How do I get my web site into Google?
Sure, you can "ask" Google to visit your website, but that will put you in a looooong queue of web sites hoping to get added. The absolutely best choice for getting added quickly is to have a link to your web site – somewhere. Now that someone has linked to your web site, and Google learns about that link, your web site will be in line for fast-indexing.

So what's the best way to get my first link?
There are many ways to do this, very affordably. You can:

Ask a chum to place a link to your web site from theirs,

Post messages in a forum, with your web address in your signature,

Enter a comment on someone's blog and include a link to your web site,

Start your own blog on LiveJournal.com and link to your web site,

Set up an account on a social bookmarking website like Digg and use it to bookmark your web site,

Create a free reprint article and upload it to SearchWarp, EZineArticles, or Free-Reprint-Articles.com

The more often Google checks the place where your link was put, the more quickly Google will find that a page out there linked to you. Some web sites are updated as seldom as once every few months, other places are updated several times every hour. The best tactics to get your site crawled are through social bookmarking services or article marketing.

If you can get to your web site logs, sift through them for hits by something called GoogleBot. This is the program that Google uses to spider around on the web. As soon as you discover that Google has started crawling your web site, it doesn't be long until your site: search starts showing results. But, you've seen only the first of your worries…

Okay, so when will my site start getting traffic?
Now that your web site is listed, why doesn't it come up in search results? If you read through each search engine result, you'll discover that web site is toward the end of results for everything but your company's name. And if that business name is pretty common, you're probably at the of that list, too.

Playing in the Sandbox…
Your web site will remain in a special place that Google refers to as your web site may be very] well linked, appreciated, and built - it just won't wind up on search results until it has aged satisfactorily for Google to believe that your web site is not a spam-site.

How much time your web site hangs out in the sandbox depends on many aspects and Google won't fess up. The important thing to bear in mind is that web marketing is a long-term effort. There aren't any magic pills your web site can take to outsmart Google. Google does its best to ensure that people are given the best search results. Making your web site endure the sandbox is Google's mechanism for meeting surfers needs and retaining their ranking as the best search engine.

--
Daiv Russell does web marketing copywriting for Envision Software.
Hundreds of online marketing consultants concur – One of the major factors to successful online marketing is via writing and distributing articles.

Since you know you must ride the success wave of online marketing using articles, you have to worry about writing articles to attract three, exceptionally different readers with the same article.

Three targets of article marketing
And now for the three targets of article marketing and how to write great headlines for each:

Readers - In the end, these are the people who will decide that they are attracted to what you do enough to read your article. You need to write a headline that will draw your audience to actually read your article in the first place. You need to attract them to dig further into your article and actually pay attention to your message.

80% of readers will see your headline, but only 20% will dig in to your article. How well your headline is written will decide the reader’s next step.

Readers can come across your headline on social networking sites like Digg and Del.icio.us, as links in an message from a colleague, and in their Google results. If your headline does not appeal to them enough to read your article, you just won’t get readership, even if you have the best message or offering in the world. You could offer the cure for cancer, but with a bad headline no one will want to read about it.

Search Engines - Search engines think that the page title is the primary on-page indicator of the content of the page. Coming in second place is the use of the <h1> heading tag. When your article is published, publishers have a tendency to make either or both the title and H1 tag the same as your article title. Therefore, having words in your article title which are important to those searching for information increase your chances of showing up in search engine results.

You want your keywords in the headline and as near the start as reasonable to still satisfy the other two audiences.

Publishers - One of the keys to article marketing is the how publishers can spread your message like a virus. This is the chief reason article marketing is so powerful. One well-written article can get published on 10,000 places around the web in a couple of weeks.

These are the folks who choose whether or not your article gets published on their site, newsletter, blog, etc. They are a tough combination of both readers and Yahoo and company. They want to understand your article will attract search engine clicks and also make their readers happy. However, if they don’t run across your article since the the poor headline doesn’t come up in their Yahoo results, or the headline fails to suck them in to read your article – you miss out.

It's fairly safe to say that publishers can make or break an article’s success and by pleasing the other two audiences you will get on their good side as well.

Writing Good Headlines for All Three
This article's title was written specially to serve as an example of how to meet the needs these three audiences. As you can see, the first three words of the article headline are Google fodder - they are a blending of two greatly sought phrases, and those words are the very first in the headline.

The first words also tell you what you will learn when you read the article. The last part captivates your attention and sucks you deeper in. It promises something of interest that will provide what you’re hoping to gain or learn about. It causes you to ask yourself, "I’m curious what lesson I can take away from this article…" and so you read on, just as you did.

Armed with this information, you can now write good article headlines that get noticed, get published, and get traffic coming to your site. Get out there, get writing, and cash in.

--
Daiv Russell is a web marketing copywriter with Envision Software.
Transactional Leadership - Motivation Cure-All?

People are motivated by reward and punishment. This was one such consequence of Abraham Maslow's needs hierarchy. Group systems perform best through a clear chain of command. After people have contracted to do a task, a part of the arrangement is that they abandon complete authority to their boss. The chief function of a minion is to do what their boss tells them to do.

Transactional leaders operate by constructing clear algorithms by which they indicate clearly the expectations of subordinates, as well as the rewards received for meeting those expectations. Although punishment is not always explicated, the concept is implicitly understood, and systematic structures for discipline are usually extant.

In transactional leadership, negotiation of the contract defines the relationship. The contract needs to spell out salary and benefits, as well as what claim the company has on the employee and his work.

When an employee is assigned work by an transactional leader, the employee is fully responsible for the work, even if they do not have the competency or resources to do so. The employee is thought to be at fault when things do not work correctly, and must suffer the consequences of their failure. Likewise, success is rewarded.
The transactional leader often uses management by exception, working on the principle that if something is operating to defined (and hence expected) performance then it does not need attention. Exceptions to expectation require praise and reward for exceeding expectation, whilst some kind of corrective action is applied for performance below expectation.

Whereas Transformational Leadership has more of a 'selling' style, Transactional Leadership, once the contract is in place, takes a 'telling' style. Transactional leadership is based in contingency, in that reward or punishment is contingent upon performance.

Though a good amount of research indicates the shortcomings of Transactional Leadership, it remains a popular approach to management for many. In fact, it is clearly toward the management end of the scale of the Leadership vs. Management spectrum.

People are not simply driven by monetary rewards and cannot be assumed to be working examples of ideal rational individuals. Psychological theories that attempt to define and describe motivation and resulting actions are Pavlov's Classical Conditioning and Skinner's Operant Conditioning. These theories were devised using simplistic animal experiments and do not correctly model complex societal and human characteristics.

Using the Behaviorism to sustain Transitional approach proves true in a practical application, which is confirmed through supply and demand in the employment sector in addition to the effects of deeper needs like Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs. However, when the supply of employees isn't enough to meet the needs of demand, then Transactional Leadership is not sufficient; then other approaches prove more effective in the workplace.

--
Daiv Russell is a management and marketing consultant with Envision Web Promotion.
Hiring with Wisdom of Maslow Motivators

Though the Maslow Needs Hierarchy is apparent in several areas of life, in none of these is it more prevalent than in the business world. With the many and varied stages of life that different people are in, there is a much greater concern about the possibility of conflict in business. While the manager of a department may have achieved the stage of self-actualization and has a family, his/her entry level worker may only be at the cusp of securing their first apartment.

The prior case study depicts the difference between people at different levels of Maslow's pyramid. Someone who is consistently having trouble providing their basic survival and physiological needs is going to be under great stress. Unfortunately, employees under such stress will begin to show it through their poor work performance.

There are three basic needs one must meet in order to provide focus in the workplace; having secured a dwelling, loving family, and sufficient amount of money to provide for the basics. Usually if you have these basic needs you will excel over others without them. This makes it easier to focus during a normal workday.

The best type of employee to hire should be found through a vigorous interview process; those with the most stable life environment are the best workers to have. During the hiring process, recall the Maslow theory that notes the best employees should be in the self-actualization and esteem stages; these people usually focus on others' needs while completing their work tasks.

Workplace competition generates a higher quality of product and promotes employee cohesion. Esteem stage employees make a great fit for your business due to their more competitive need to excel, combined with their need for attention and the respect of their coworkers. Esteem stage employees are better at maintaining excellent interpersonal workplace relationships and can provide your business with quality work.

Workers present in the self-actualization part of a firm are quite productive. Such workers concentrate more on the job in hand. These workers seem to be calm with good conduct and pretty well sure of their worth and are prepared to face the hardships of life. To add to this, workers don't simply stagnate at a particular stage - they may drop back down the ladder. Hence, it's advisable to have only those people who are high up enough in the ladder to impart confidence even when they have occasional backslides.

The Maslow theory has proven useful in many facets of life, but perhaps the business world most importantly. A thorough review of business will find that the more competent, focused, efficient employees on staff, the better the ultimate success of the business. And what better way to secure this success than to hire members of the workforce who embody traits enabled by the top tier of Maslow's pyramid.

--
Daiv Russell is a marketing and management consultant with Envision Web Promotion.
Does Your Landscaping Company Need Magnetic Signage?

If you're in the landscaping business, you’re always looking for more business. Even your best customers change jobs, move, or disappear for a number of reasons. You need to constantly bring on new customers to replace those who leave - even if you're the best landscaping in town. It's simply not enough to do a good job -- you have to find a means for potential customers to know that you have a great landscaping service and how to find you. One of the best ways to attract these vital new customers is to invest in a set of high-quality magnetic vehicle signs.

Give me a moment of your time to learn how magnetic vehicle signs can drive more customers to your door, and picture your landscaping company enjoying the benefits:

1.	Your magnetic truck signs will generate immediate response. You don't need to wait for printing and distribution like with yellow pages or magazine advertising. With a good marketing message, you'll get calls immediately. A number of my clients have received calls from people driving right next to them to see if they could schedule a time for a bid.
You can't get much faster than that! The magnetic signs absolutely do work and they will pay for themselves in no time.

2.	When a next-door neighbor sees your sign, they assume you're worth the risk. Since someone they trust has already hired you, they'll just assume you're worth taking a chance on. Some of my clients have ended up getting asked to come across the street to give an estimate while they're in the middle of delivering an estimate to their neighbor.

3.	Magnetic truck signs are a one time expense. After purchasing your magnetic signage, they're yours forever. Unlike most other advertising, there’s no monthly payment to keep the customers coming in. Simply by doing the driving you already do or keeping your truck parked in a good location, you are putting your name in front of people who are most likely to use your landscaping services.

4.	The signs are easily removed. Today, community associations limit the kind of advertising acceptable while in the neighborhood. Because you can easily take down the magnetic vehicle sign - you solve the problem in an instant. Just take your magnetic sign from your vehicle, and you're good to go.

5.	With eye-catching and appealing magnetic vehicle signs, your business stands out from the competition and have your message noticed. The secret to this is spending enough time planning the layout of your truck signage. You need to work with a sign maker who will partner with you to create an effective marketing message. You are an expert at landscaping, and you need to partner with a magnetic sign maker who is an expert at getting you more business. Request and review a proof before your signs are complete.

6.	Your signs are easy-to-care for and last a long time. Simply follow the instructions your magnetic sign maker provides. Every month or so, the magnetic vehicle signs ought to be removed, washed with a mild detergent, and then air-dried. Some of my clients have had magnetic truck signs for years that look as great as they did when they were made.

7.	This is a excellent, very-affordable, customer-getting tool. Magnetic signage is so much cheaper than nearly every other form of advertising. The cost of a set of magnetic signs will only come to about $80 - that's far cheaper than yellow pages or newspaper advertising.

Think about the possibilities: because magnetic vehicle signs are so cost-effective, if you get help from your friends and family, you could have a fleet of cars all around the city advertising your landscaping company and phone number. That would bring in so much business you might need to expand just to keep up with the demand.

Before dropping your first dollar on magnetic signs for your truck, though, you must know that not all magnetic vehicle sign companies or magnetic vehicle signs are equal. You should read the consumer warning available on http://www.magnetic-signs.info prior to selecting a sign maker. You'll save a great deal of time, cash, and trouble.

--
Daiv Russell is a small business marketing consultant with Envision Web Promotion specializing in small business marketing and internet marketing.
