Choosing a good domain name is one of most important steps in setting up your online business, but it’s getting harder and harder to find good names that are still available. You could use a domain name with hyphens, but is that really a good idea?

Let’s quickly review what makes a good domain name. A domain name needs to be relevant, easy to remember, keyword optimized, and free from trademark conflicts. It should also be shorter. Although seven characters or less is ideal, you may have to settle for a domain name that’s a little longer.

So you’ve just set up your new barbecue grills business and now you discover that barbecuegrills.com is already taken. Should you consider hyphenating the domain name to barbecue-grills.com or should you go back to the drawing board?

The first choice should always be to take the name without a hyphen. Having established that, there are some exceptions. Let’s look at hyphenated domain names and when they are might be good to use.

Domains with hyphens can sometimes be a good idea if you really want certain words in your domain name but all the domains without hyphens are already taken.

Another reason to use a hyphen is when the words you plan to use are harder to read without the hyphen. The domain hotellamps.com is harder to read than hotel-lamps.com. That is not necessarily a great domain name but it does serve to illustrate the point that some domains are easier to read with a hyphen.

You might also consider using hyphens for search engine optimization. Some people suggest that using hyphens helps the search engines to distinguish your keywords better. This may be a good option for webmasters whose primary goal is to optimize their sites for traffic from natural search engine rankings. The only catch here is that this could change over time since search engines are constantly adjusting their search algorithms.

Incidentally, if you decide not to use hyphens in your domain name, watch out for any unintended double meanings that might be embarrassing. To illustrate this point a couple of fairly suspicious domain names are therapistfinder.com and molestationnursery.com. In case you are wondering the latter was reportedly the domain for the Mole Station Native Nursery based in New South Wales, Australia, although it seems, fortunately, to have moved.

Whatever reason you have for using a hyphen in your domain name, it would be good to remember one thing. Some people will forget the hyphen when they type your domain name. So whenever you invest in promoting your site, some lucky webmaster who owns the un-hyphenated version of your domain is going to get some free traffic, courtesy of your hard work.

As you can see, there are some situations when using a hyphen in your domain name may be a good decision.

--
Daniel Moro has been successfully building online businesses for ten years.
Choosing a good domain name is one of most important steps in setting up your online business. And with more web sites being launched every day, it is certainly not getting any easier to find good domain names that are still available. So what exactly makes a good domain name?

Easy to Remember – Your domain name should be memorable and easy for visitors to recall and type into their browser.

Relevant – Your domain name should be relevant to your business and to the content on your web site.

Short Name – Although domain names can be up to 67 characters, your domain name should be shorter, preferably seven characters or less. Shorter domain names are easier to remember, easier to type and less susceptible to mistakes. Domain names with seven characters or less are harder to come by these days, so you may have to settle for a domain name that is slightly longer.

Top Level Domain
If your business is in the US or if your web site is targeting a global audience then you should use .com as your top-level domain. Generally .net and .org domains are not perceived as being as professional as .com domains. If however you are marketing to a local audience in another country, for example in UK or Australia, then using the local .com domain such as .com.uk or .com.au may make it easier for visitors to recognize that your site is local.

Keyword Optimized – If possible your domain name should contain popular keywords relating to your topic. This will help your site to rank high in the natural rankings of search engines. Use a keyword tool such as Good Keywords to check which keywords are searched more frequently.

Consider Hyphenated Names - If you are having trouble getting the name you want, consider a hyphenated domain name, e.g. barbecue-grills.com. However the downside of this approach is that some people will forget the hyphen when typing your domain name.

How Does it Sound? - If you tell a friend your domain name over the phone, will they easily be able to spell it correctly the first time?

No Trademark Conflicts - Make certain that your domain name is free of legal conflicts due to trademarks belonging to other businesses. Your new site at GoogleSecrets.com might attract a lot of traffic but it will probably attract even more after your court case is in the headlines for breaching Google’s trademark! Stay clear of other companies’ names and trademarks.

A good place to check if a domain name is available is Whois.org. Keep these tips in mind, and you will be well on your way to choosing a good domain name.

--
Daniel Moro has been successfully building online businesses for ten years.
If you are setting up an online business then sooner or later you will wonder whether you should be writing and selling your own e-book. Here are 10 reasons why you should do it.

1. Brand Awareness

When you write your own e-book and publish it online, not only is there the prestige of being able to call yourself a book author, there is also an increase in brand awareness.

Your audience will grow to recognize and trust your name, they will perceive you as more of an expert in your topic, and they will be more likely to purchase something from you in the future.

2. Good Prices

If you believe that electronic books always sell for less than their paper counterparts, think again! E-books are regularly selling for remarkably high prices.

If you don’t believe me, have a browse at the e-book marketplace at ClickBank. In this marketplace alone there are over 10,000 products for sale and many of them are e-books priced between $20 and $50.

3. Low Production Cost

E-books take an investment of time during the development stage, but once they are finished they don’t cost anything to produce. There is no manufacturing process required.

You simply place the file on a web server so that your customers can download it.

4. Low Delivery Cost

E-books are almost free to store and deliver. Have you ever worked in retail? Then you may know what is involved in maintaining a storeroom, making deliveries to customers, handling returns, and keeping track of all the stock.

When you sell e-books you need not worry about all of that. You don’t need any special storage space in your office. You only need a few megabytes on your hardrive. And you don’t have to worry about any product returns!

5. Instant Delivery

E-book delivery is instant and, like production and storage, deliver of e-books costs virtually nothing. Most customers download their e-book from the Internet immediately after completing their payment.

6. High Profit Margins

After reading the reasons given above, you should not be at all surprised to learn that e-books have very high profit margins. Once the e-book is written the only real cost you will have is a small percentage for payment processing fees.

7. Never Run Out of Stock

You will never run out of stock. That is, unless you accidentally delete your final copy of the e-book… in which case you better talk very nicely indeed to one of the customers who already purchased your e-book.

8. Instant Gratification

Customers love to buy products that they can receive immediately and selling e-books is a way of providing this instant gratification. They allow you to provide instant information, instant advice and instant solutions to your readers.

As you can see, e-books are truly a wonderful tool for online businesses. Get started on your own e-book right away.

--
Daniel Moro has been successfully building online businesses for ten years.
Article Marketing - 4 Different Types of Article

Article marketing is a powerful way to build traffic to your web site. Yet many people give up on article marketing after just a few articles because they are become stuck on what to write next.

There are two ways to quickly come up with new articles. One is to brainstorm new topics. The other is to diversify by writing different types of articles. Pick up any of your favorite magazines and you will see that they publish a variety of types of article.

Here are four popular types of article you can write.

The List Article

This is one of the easiest types of article to write and that is one reason why it is among most common types of article published online. A list article lists several related pieces of information. Here are a few examples of a list articles:

"10 Energy Saving Tips for Winter"
"5 Fruits to Boost Your Body’s Resistance"
"Asia’s Top 10 Honeymoon Destinations"
"Natural Remedies for Insomnia"

List articles need to have:

- An introduction.
- The list with a paragraph or two for each item.
- A conclusion.

The 'How To' Article

A "How to" article explains to your reader how to do something. Examples of "How to" articles include:

"How to Drive Traffic to Any Web Site for Free"
"How to Keep Your Tomatoes Alive"
"How to Install a New Hard Drive"
"How to Download Unlimited Music Files Legally"

This type of article is popular because people just love to learn how to do something new.

The Review Article

What is one of the main ways that people find out about which new products to buy, and which to avoid? They read review articles. A review article is the result of someone reviewing a particular product or service and then writing a review about it.

There are several slightly different approaches you can use for review articles but here are the essential items that must be included:
- What does the product promise?
- How well does it deliver on that promise?
- Is it good value and if so, who should buy it?

The Roundup Article

In a roundup article you provide a summary or roundup of information from a variety of sources. It can be a combination of general facts, statements, and opinions. For this type of article a writer will usually interview several experts, then round up the answers, something like this:

“Michael Wetherby, Managing Director at Becketts Consulting, is confident his company will be able to cut three months off the project timeline as a result of using Picadilly’s new software. “There is no doubt that it is going to reduce our development time by fifty percent”, he predicted. But Bill Petersen, at Drone Associates, is not so certain about the software’s efficiency. He explains why…”

So, the next time you are struggling over what you could write next, take a fresh look at these different types of articles. I bet you could write some new types of articles on topics with which you are already familiar. By diversifying the types of articles you write your writing will develop a greater depth and there will be even more demand for your articles.

--
Daniel Moro has been successfully building online businesses for ten years.
Do Not Go Past Google, Do Not Collect $200

Are you relying too heavily on one Pay-Per-Click advertising network for your affiliate marketing? Some affiliates rely on Google AdWords only, and they are losing out on a great deal of revenue.

Many affiliates get into affiliate marketing after reading one of the popular ebooks on the topic that are sold online. But most of these ebooks concentrate on training people to use Google AdWords. I figure that is because Google has higher traffic volumes and because it is very easy to quickly set up your first affiliate campaigns. Many affiliates never get past AdWords, though, and that is where they are losing out.

You should already know that it’s never a good idea to put all your eggs in one basket. Particularly when that one basket has seen better days. I can assure you that relying heavily on one advertising network, particularly Google AdWords, is not a smart strategy for growing your affiliate marketing business.

For some affiliate products advertising at the other networks will be even more profitable. In fact you should be using all of the three major pay-per-click networks. They are Yahoo Search Marketing, Microsoft Adcenter, and Google Adwords.

Here are five reasons why you should consider using a different Pay-Per-Click advertising network.

Reason One – You Receive No Traffic

Sometimes when you set up a campaign at one of the advertising networks, you don’t receive any traffic. This can happen for a number of reasons. Sometimes you can change something in your campaign to get your ads running, but other times nothing seems to help. So switch advertising network. You could be up and running in no time.

Reason Two – Because of Editorial Policy

Sometimes you cannot get certain ad campaigns to be accepted due to the particular network’s editorial and content policies.

For example, Google has recently been rejecting campaigns that promote sites for music and movie file-sharing. I’ve been trying to run a legitimate campaign for one of the major legal music downloading services, and it’s just taking too much effort to get Google to look closer and recognize that my campaign is legitimate. I have more or less given up and the campaign is now running at Yahoo Search Marketing and MSN Adcenter instead.

Reason Three – For Price of Traffic

Sometimes the price at which you can get traffic on a given keyword phrase will vary widely from one network to another. So if you are not getting traffic at a price you are willing to pay, try switching to another advertising network.

Reason Four – To Replicate Your Campaigns

What do you usually do after you find a successful affiliate product? Do you improve your ads, add more keywords, add more countries, and increase your investment? Well, don’t forget to add more advertising networks.

For every successful affiliate campaign you identify, you should be trying to get it running profitably at all three major Pay-Per-Click networks, if at all possible.

Reason Five – To Test New Products and Retest Old Ones

Too many affiliate marketers are only testing out new affiliate marketing campaigns at Google AdWords. The, if the affiliate product is successful at Google AdWords they might roll out the campaign on the other networks. This strategy is seriously flawed.
The problem with this is that there are so many affiliate marketers using Google AdWords compared with a few years ago. They have pushed up the price of traffic on many of the popular keywords and it is much harder to get low-priced clicks now in many topic areas. An affiliate product that was once very good may no longer be profitable using AdWords because of the rising price of traffic.

And that right there is why many affiliates give up. I recommend that affiliates break out of the habit of only using Google Adwords to test new affiliate products. Try some products first at Yahoo Search Marketing or MSN Adcenter. Remember that traffic may or may not be cheaper than AdWords. That is not critical either way, because you will quickly discover that conversion ratios are different too.

I have given you five reasons to take your advertising dollars and spend them somewhere else. Your affiliate marketing business will be better off if you do.

Perhaps you should go back to some of the affiliate products you tested and threw away at AdWords. You just might identify some affiliate products that are actually profitable using another pay-per-click network.

--
Daniel Moro has been successfully building online businesses for ten years.
Many people dream of working online from home. Is it really a good idea for you? Would you really enjoy it? I have been working online from home for the past four years and I love it. I’d absolutely hate to go back to a regular office job.

Here are seven reasons why working from home online is an excellent idea.

1. The Money

An online business can be a really exciting way to earn a living. The first time you receive a payment for twenty dollars or so, you will probably be very excited. And that’s just the beginning. There are many people working online who are earning thousands and even tens of thousands every month.

So whether you want to earn a little extra spending money, better your last salary, or even try to make a fortune, starting up your own online business working from home could be a good way to achieve your goals.

2. There Is No Commute

Do you hate having to commute to the office every day? Then you’ll love working online. Instead of spending a good portion of your life stuck in rush hour traffic, imagine rising in the morning, reading the newspaper while enjoying your morning coffee, then simply wandering across the room and turning on your computer to start work.

3. Your Favorite Working Environment

One of the nicest things about working at home is you get to choose your own working environment. After all, your workspace is where you’ll be spending a lot of your time, so shouldn’t it be a workspace designed especially with you in mind? The desk of your dreams. A comfortable chair that your former office colleagues would kill for. Your favorite music at the flick off a switch.

. Flexible Hours of Work

When you are working online, you can choose to work whatever hours you like. Do you prefer to sleep late and then work through into the evening, or would you rather start at six o’clock in the morning and have all your work finished by two or three o’clock in the afternoon? It’s up to you when you work and how many hours you work. But don’t be fooled. Running your own business takes a lot of hours and the people making fortunes online usually work long hours, at least during their first two to three years while they are still building up the business.

Working flexible hours can really improve your quality of life because you will be able to spend more time with your family and friends. Never again will you have to miss an important family event.

5. Low Startup Costs

Starting up an online business is inexpensive compared to starting up a traditional business. You don’t need to rent office space. You don’t need office furniture for half a dozen people. In fact, you don’t need those half a dozen people either. There’ll be no salaries to pay, no labor insurance to worry about.

With many online businesses you can get started with just a computer and an internet connection.

6. Pride of Achievement

I like it when people ask me what I do. I enjoy telling them that I have my own online business. In nearly every case, they are envious and tell me how nice it must be to be able to work from home and earn a living online.

When you tell people that you have your own online business I am sure you will be filled with a sense of pride at what you have accomplished.

7. An Investment for Your Future

When you are build an online business, always remember that you are building something for your future. Whether your business growth is fast or slow, remember it is a business which has a true value. One day you might decide to sell it and I am sure you have heard of online businesses selling for hundreds of thousands of dollars and even more. Or you might prefer to keep it and let it become a source of additional income during your retirement years.

That’s seven great reasons to work online from home. There are certainly many more good reasons, but perhaps these seven will inspire you to start an online business of your own.

--
Daniel Moro has been successfully building online businesses for ten years.
Your Ebook Internet Marketing Strategy - 7 Vital Components

Do not underestimate the importance of having a good ebook internet marketing strategy. It will make or break your success in terms of the number of copies your ebook sells, and the revenue and profit you ultimately receive from sales of your ebook.

With that in mind, here are eight vital components for your ebook internet marketing strategy.

1. Set up a Web Site

The first and most important weapon in your ebook marketing arsenal must be a web site containing a sales page for the ebook. This needs to be a page dedicated to information about your ebook only. It is even better if you set up a dedicated domain name and site for the ebook. Now that web hosting packages are available for just a few dollars a month, and you can get a package allowing unlimited sites in one package, I strongly recommend giving your ebook its very own site.

Your sales page should be well-designed and contain plenty of information about your ebook. This information should include features and benefits to the readers, and of course, testimonials from your satisfied customers. And if you expect to have credibility with potential customers, your sales page needs to be free of little errors.

2. Build Your Own Mailing List

If you don’t already have a mailing list and your own newsletter, start one. You may already have heard that, on average, people need to see a marketing message seven times before they will take action and place an order. A newsletter is a great way to keep your message in front of your audience on a regular basis, and at the same time you will be building up their trust in you as they get to know you and the quality of your information.

You might send out a regular newsletter - for example monthly or weekly - or you can set up autoresponders to automatically send messages at specific intervals. An autoresponder can send a given message at a specified number of days after the subscriber signed up to your mailing list.

3. Sell Your Ebook Through ClickBank

Why use ClickBank? There are several reasons why I recommend that you consider selling your ebook through ClickBank.

First, ClickBank is a very experienced partner to have when selling an ebook. That’s what they specialize in. There are already 10,000 publishers and authors selling information products using their system. But there is something even more important than the number of publishers. It’s the number of affiliates. ClickBank have an army of 100,000 affiliates ready to ‘jump on your bandwagon’ and start promoting your hot new ebook.

Second, ClickBank has a neat payment processing system. If you use ClickBank you will not need to set up an expensive merchant account with your bank in order to accept credit cards online. Setting up a publisher account with ClickBank costs just $50 or so.

Finally, ClickBank works neatly in conjunction with your own web site and newsletter. You simply add the special links given to you by ClickBank into your newsletter and web site, and whenever anyone clicks through your order link, they will be taken to a professional order form where they can pay using their credit card or PayPal.

Whenever one of ClickBank’s affiliates refers a visitor who goes on to make a purchase, ClickBank automatically tracks which affiliate referred the visitor and pays their commission.

4. Article Marketing

Article marketing involves writing articles and making them available for webmasters and editors to publish. The greatest exposure usually comes from listing the articles at article directories such as EzineArticles and IdeaMarketers. This allows anyone to publish the article without any fee to you, the author, provided they include your 'Author Resource Box' at the end of the article.

To promote an ebook successfully using article marketing you should write articles on topics closely related your ebook. Your author's resource box should be a small paragraph or two about you including a direct link to the web page for your ebook.

Besides being a good way to generate traffic, article marketing is a great technique for increasing your brand awareness. As people read your articles at various web sites they will begin to recognize you as an expert in your topic.

5. Pay Per Click Advertising

Pay Per Click (PPC) advertising is one of the quickest ways to drive traffic to your ebook’s sales page. It is certainly not the cheapest source of traffic, but it is probably the most effective technique to guarantee a large quantity of traffic, fast.

With Pay Per Click advertising you bid the maximum price that you are willing to pay for each visitor that clicks on your listing and comes through to your site. The more you bid, the more likely your listing will show. Many webmasters obtain traffic for $0.05 to $0.15 per click.
One good thing about PPC advertising is that unlike other forms of advertising, you only pay for visitors who actually click through your link and visit your site. Compare that to traditional advertising where you pay a set price for the ad regardless of whether you receive any response.

6. Regular Advertising

Regular classified advertising is a form of advertising which is particularly common in newspapers and magazines. Many online ezines and email newsletters offer classified advertising spots. Advertising in these can be one of the best sources of targeted traffic, since you have the ability to select those newsletters with an audience that most closely resembles your own target audience.

If you know the email newsletter or mailing list is a very good match, consider sending a solo mailing. A solo mailing is a special mailing sent to all the subscribers containing only your message promoting your ebook. It will cost more than regular advertising within a newsletter, but you’ll get a much higher response rate.
And don't dismiss offline classified advertising. It is possible to run a classified advertisement in an offline publication such as a newspaper or carefully targeted magazine and get an excellent response of people checking out your ebook.

7. Profit Sharing

Consider approaching other web site owners and offering to allow them to sell your ebook directly from their web site. You should arrange in advance how the profit will be shared. I usually ask the other web site owner to pay me fifty percent of the revenue from my ebook sales. The web site owner usually loves it because they will have a new ebook to promote, and after they pay their own payment processing fees, they should still be able to keep 40 to 50 percent of the revenue.

There you have it.
I bet you have already seen some of the latest marketing campaigns for ebooks that promise to expose a massive loophole that enables you to get free Google ads. Well, don’t reach for your credit card just yet. I’ll tell you why. I’m about to expose a ‘loophole in the loophole’. And then I’ll reveal to you something even better.

Are you ready? Here goes, then. Some of these new ebooks promise to expose a loophole that will give you free Google ads. Then, the technique they reveal is not really a loophole at all. And it’s not really free ads either. Rather, they show you how to earn a bit of revenue from the visitors sent from your Google ads, and they explain that this revenue covers the cost of the ads so you are getting them effectively ‘for free’. Neat, maybe. A loophole? Definitely not. And is it really original? Hardly.

You only have to do a search on the phrase “AdSense Arbitrage” to see many other examples of people recuperating pay-per-click advertising costs. Various techniques have been around for some time. Google has cracked down on webmasters using arbitrage, however, and closed down a bunch of their AdSense accounts.

So much for loopholes. If there really was an amazing loophole that Google might have missed, they’d probably be buying their own copy of the ebook today and closing the loophole tomorrow. So instead of spending your hard-earned dollars on ebooks touting questionable techniques, you would be far better to put some time into employing some proven mainstream techniques of traffic building.

I promised you something even better than the so-called free ads. Now, to be better I suggest that it will need to be absolutely free, easy to get started, and able to drive large amounts of traffic to your web site.

Article marketing is a technique that meets all of these criteria. ‘Ah-ha’, I hear you cry, “That’s not such an original concept”. Well, guess what? You don’t necessarily need something original when you can use a technique that has been proven, time and time again, and is still working well today. Let’s examine how well it meets the criteria above.

Is it Easy to Get Started in Article Marketing?

Yes. Article marketing involves writing articles and making them available for webmasters and editors to publish. You submit your articles at article directories such as EzineArticles and IdeaMarketers and this allows anyone to publish your article without any fee to you, the author, provided they include your 'Author Resource Box' including your link at the end of the article.

To get closely targeted visitors using article marketing you should write articles on topics closely related to your web site.

You can get started right now. It takes just a few minutes to sign up for an author account at EzineArticles.com and IdeaMarketers.com .

Is Article Marketing Completely Free?

Yes. Article marketing is free. It will only cost you some time. It takes time to write articles and it takes time to submit them to article directories, but apart from that investment of your time, it is absolutely free.

If you want to save your time it will be worthwhile to invest in some article submitting software that will automate sending articles to multiple article directories. But that is entirely optional and I suggest you try doing it manually first o check that article marketing suits you.

Can Article Marketing Drive Large Amounts of Traffic to Your Site?

Absolutely. Here’s a real example. A couple of weeks ago I submitted a particular article to a bunch of article directories. I deliberately chose a precise phrase for the title which returned zero results at Google, so I could measure accurately what happened. Less than two weeks later there are over 700 web page results at Google, referencing my article title. And traffic has begun to flow in to my site from those web pages.

Another example, this time from an article marketer I know. She recently conducted an article marketing experiment, submitting a new article to 25 article directories every day for a month. Her web site revenue doubled within four weeks.

Article marketing might not be mysterious. It’s definitely not a big secret. But it does work. If you are looking for a way to drive large amounts of traffic to your web site at no cost, that is it.

--
Daniel Moro has been successfully building online businesses for ten years.
Many people dream of firing the boss and starting their own internet business, working online from home. Is it really such a good idea? Absolutely, and I should know, because I have been working online from home for the past four years.

Here are seven reasons why starting your own internet business is an excellent idea.

1. Low Start Up Costs

2. Good Profit Margins

Most online businesses have high profit margins due to the low direct cost of sales.

For example, take an internet business selling ebooks. The cost of stocking and delivering the ebooks is almost zero. Web hosting and a good mailing list management solution will cost around twenty to thirty dollars every month. And then you must pay a fairly small percentage of sales revenue for payment processing fees.

An ebook selling business can usually make a profit of 50-75% on each ebook if selling or referring other author’s ebooks and as high as 90% profit selling your own ebooks or other information products that you write. Other online businesses experience similar profit margins.

3. Simplified Customer Service

If you’ve ever had to face angry customers across the counter of a retail store, then you’ll appreciate the advantage of dealing with customers through the Internet.

Many potential problems can be avoided by simply providing clear and detailed information and a good frequently asked questions section. Any remaining issues can be dealt with via web forms and email.

So the few angry customers you might, and probably will, eventually encounter will not be right in your face. You will have time to gather your thoughts and check into the situation before you respond. And in the event you need to arrange any refunds on information products, you’re not really out of pocket for anything except perhaps a little of your time.

4. Global Market

An online business is also a great idea because of the size of the marketplace. It’s world-wide. Your internet business can easily target customers in almost every country if you choose to. With more and more people around the world getting ‘online’ that’s an enormous market for your business.

5. Work from home

Do you hate having to commute to the office every day? Then you’ll love working online. Instead of spending a good portion of your life stuck in rush hour traffic, imagine rising in the morning, reading the newspaper while enjoying your morning coffee, then simply wandering across the room and turning on your computer to start work.

6. Flexible Hours

7. Quick to Start

The seventh reason why working online with an internet business is a great idea is that you can start up very quickly. For some simple online business models such as article marketing and affiliate marketing you can actually be up and running and earning your first online payments within a couple of days.

Admittedly, some larger online business ventures will take months of planning and preparation, but most people getting started in online business will start out with one of the simpler, more proven, internet business strategies mentioned above.

That’s seven great reasons to start your own internet business. There are certainly many more good reasons, but perhaps these seven will inspire you to start an online business of your own.

--
Daniel Moro has been successfully building online businesses for ten years.
I confess I became a Keyword Elite customer by accident. You see, I really wanted to get in on the initial intake of Google Cash Detective customers. Unfortunately I was busy at the time of its launch, and by the time I visited the order page I was informed that Google Cash Detective had sold out.

I was furious. I had waited weeks for the launch, counting down every day. But what was truly terrifying was my knowledge that the new Google Cash Detective customers would soon be monitoring and stealing my profitable AdWords campaigns.

It was time for emergency measures. I decided to check whether there were any other software applications with similar capabilities. And I found several references to Brad Callen’s Keyword Elite software.

Imagine my surprise when I discovered that Keyword Elite might do almost everything I had been expecting from Google Cash Detective. And Keyword Elite has a price tag of just $176 so I was pleasantly surprised. Just a day earlier I had been ready to pay $497 for GC Detective.

I wanted to check whether this software lived up to its claims before purchasing it. I noticed that Brad Callen has a series of videos available on his sales page. You can basically "look over his shoulder" as he uses every single part of the software. I watched them all and that settled my final reservations. I was convinced, so I grabbed my credit card and purchased my own copy of Keyword Elite.

The software was downloadable immediately and I had it installed on my computer within a few minutes. Learning to use it was a breeze, especially after watching the videos. Now let’s look at what I discovered.

Keyword Elite is basically organized into five parts or 'projects'. Here is what each project will do.

Project One: Creating Huge Keyword Lists

Can you really generate keyword lists of more than 10,000 keywords in just minutes? I typed in “dog training” and within a few minutes I had a list of 2,000 words. Far less than 10,000 but my internet speed is quite slow and Keyword Elite was still working away. I decided to leave it running in the background while I did some other work. When I came back to look it was up to 19,776 words and still climbing.

That was good enough for me. I don’t care about the three minutes – I just wanted to be sure it could generate huge lists much more quickly than the days it would take me to do it manually.

I was pleased to discover that Keyword Elite had intelligently added words such as ‘dog behavior issues’ which were related but didn’t contain all of my original words.

Now what do I do with twenty thousand words? For a start I can filter out phrases containing certain words. And I can add on any word before or after every phrase. I can also add brackets in case I want to use the keywords in Google AdWords. And I can send all my selected keywords to Project Two.

Project Two: Analyzing Your Pay Per Click Competition

This project is for people using pay per click advertising to drive traffic to their web sites. For any keyword you can see the number of monthly searches and web page results, you can see both the R/S and the KEI - which I particularly like – and you can see an estimate of the required bids to obtain positions 1 to 3 at Google AdWords. You can also see at a glance how many ads are running at Google and Yahoo.

Clicking on any keyword reveals a list of the URLs being advertised right now.

Project Three: Automatically Creating Web Pages Designed for AdSense

This project is for webmasters who create web pages for AdSense. At the push of a button the software quickly goes out and fetches articles that match your selected keywords, and then automatically makes a web page according to your preferred page template. Your AdSense code is already inserted in the page code.

Whatever timing issues I had with Project 1, this project easily makes up for. Earlier today I created 20 web pages based on some carefully selected high-paying keywords… in four minutes. That was only 12 seconds for each page!

I was a little disappointed that not all of the articles were as well-written as I’d like but I’ll go through them and probably throw a few away, keeping only the ones I like.

Project Four. Analyzing the Top Ranked Web Sites in Your Niche

I’ve been using page ranking tools for years, and this is the first time I’ve found one with all the information I want in one simple report.

I simply type in a keyword phrase and a URL, Keyword Elite can fetch the top ranking web URLs for that keyword phrase. The report then shows me the Page Rank, the number of words on the page, the number of times the keyword is repeated, and the keyword. I can also see how often the keyword appears in the title, links, alt text, meta tags, bold text, and H1 heading tags.

At a glance I know what my higher-ranking competitors are doing better than me.

Project Five. Spying on Your Competitors' Profitable Ads.

I already saw who else was advertising on my selected keywords in Project Two. Now I can keep track of their campaigns. I set up a project here using their URL and the keyword. Keyword Elite runs and checks their ads every day so I soon learn how frequently and how long they've been advertising, and which position they're in.

I can now make a fair judgment whether their advertising campaign was profitable and take appropriate steps. For example I could copy their campaign, run something similar, or look for ways to do even better than they are, for example by writing better advertising copy or a better landing page.

At least I can get my revenge on those Google Cash Detective customers now! In conclusion, I have to say that I am truly impressed with Keyword Elite. It does so much more than most other keyword tools and costs considerably less. It has certainly been good value for money for me. I have saved several weeks’ worth of time already!

--
If you want to compare some popular keyword tools, I recommend http://KWtools.Top10-Reviewed.com Daniel Moro has been successfully building online businesses for ten years.
