It is time to expand your vacation destination horizons. Sure, the Caribbean Islands and Puerto Rico are nice places to visit. But I’d like to challenge you to consider a different vacation destination when you’re planning your next much-needed rest and relaxation break. Ever been to Costa Rica?

I’ve been to lots of vacation destinations throughout my life and I’ve been to Costa Rica. I’ve enjoyed them all (I was, after all, on vacation!) but after all these years, Costa Rica has remained a favorite spot because even though it’s one location, I can have so many different types of vacations when I go. I can vacation on the coast and take in the beach, book a spot in San Jose for a taste of Costa Rica style city-life, or I can venture to the Southern inland regions for quiet getaways among rainforests and some of the best natural park adventures that Costa Rica has to offer. It’s up to me.

I know about all of these things because I’m the curious, explorer type. Unlike most vacationers who tend to stick to the highlights posted in the usual “tourist’s catalogs,” I enjoy the beaten path as well as the less-traveled excursions when I go on vacation. Still, no matter what kind of vacationer you are, I think that you’ll benefit from the list of tourist resources listed on DevelopingParadise.com. There is information available for you no matter what kind of Costa Rica vacation that you want to have. There are links for the sports and adventure excursions, the cultural attractions, things for the family to do, mini trips that couples will enjoy, and more. It’s really the best site to learn about all the things you can do in Costa Rica. Be forewarned though: You will want to do more than one can do during the average one-week vacation; everyone who starts learning about Costa Rica does…so they end up scheduling more than one vacation. (Hence, how I know so much about Costa Rica!)

One other suggestion for you while you’re vacationing in Costa Rica: Take advantage of your surroundings because the Costa Rica real estate is doing quite well and with the U.S. economy the way that it is these days, investing in Costa Rica real estate is something that could make life a little easier. Real estate investors, whether they’re purchasing land, a home ot a business location, are seeing excellent returns on their investments (100% in less than 3 years isn’t uncommon). So, take a day to tour with a land sales or real estate agent/developer in the region you’re vacationing to learn about the investment opportunities that are available. After all, you went to the region because it was a “hot vacation destination” so others will too; if you own land or a home in that area, you’ll be well poised to experience some great returns on your investment.

by David Lovendahl, Developing Paradise S.A.

--
www.DevelopingParadise.comhas some amazing products about Costa Rica such as the Investor’s Blueprint, Special Reports about exotic getaways, DVD’s and CD’s.
Investing In The Costa Rica Real Estate Market For A Second Home

Thinking about building or buying a second home? Well, think beyond the “usual” choices. Arizona, Las Vegas, and Florida are all great places for a second home but Costa Rica is a smarter locale to consider. Why? Because Costa Rica has everything that Arizona, Las Vegas, and Florida have to offer without the high costs associated with building or buying in those locations; Things like scenic landscapes, investment incentives, and potential for beyond exceptional returns on real estate investment. Have I got your attention yet? Thought so.

The scenic Costa Rica real estate available in is extremely diverse. Costa Rica is surrounded by water on two sides so there are, of course, miles and miles of coastline and nearby costal regions that provide ocean views. I’m sure you’ve seen some of those picturesque views on postcards plenty of times. But what you may not know is that Costa Rica land has phenomenal mountain, valley, flat lands, cloud forest and rainforest views too. It’s one of the few places in the world, if not the only one, where you can find these varied landscapes in such close proximity or even have such multiple views from one location.

While I think that we both agree that a great view is the value-added “icing on the cake” of any Costa Rica real estate investment, the foundation of a great investment opportunity on a second home or investment property is the cost-to-profit ratio. Well, with the way things are going in the current Costa Rica real estate market, the numbers are definitely in your favor. Right now, Costa Rica real estate is still extremely inexpensive when compared to real estate in the United States. Home prices and land prices are hovering approximately 70% less than those in North America. To put that in real world terms, real estate that would cost you $300,000 in North America would cost you $90,000 in Costa Rica. That’s music to your ears, right? Well that was just the introductory chord. Now for the symphony…

·How much are your current monthly expenses? $3,000? $4,000? $5,000? Well, the cost of living in Costa Rica is far more affordable in Costa Rica. If you’re able to muster $2,000 (USD) each month for expenses (mortgage, food, utilities, housekeeper, gardener, etc.), you’d be considered the middle-upper class and will live very comfortably in Costa Rica.

·Costa Rica is a short plane ride from the United States if you’re located in the South or West and a bit longer if you’re flying in from the Northeast.

·The Costa Rican government offers significant tax breaks to people investing in real estate.

·Post-investing taxes are a fraction of those you’d be required to pay on property in the United States.

·Since Costa Rica is quickly becoming a top tourist vacation destination, land prices and real estate values have spiked as much as 300-400% in the last 10 years on some investments.

As you can see, investing in Costa Rica real estate can truly be a worthwhile investment. You’ll have a great second home, you’ll be able to pocket savings left and right, and you’ll even enjoy a nice return on your investment. Tell me: What other kind of investment can you make today that can provide all of that? I’d venture to say, “There isn’t one.”

If you’re wary about buying Costa Rica land for sale because it is a ‘foreign’ land, don’t be. Costa Rica is a nation that’s part of the “Americas” and international relations between the U.S. and Costa Rica are excellent. Additionally, the Costa Rican government is seeking foreign investors. As a result, they’ve put easy to follow procedures in place to make circumventing the potential red tape a breeze. Last but not least, there are international real estate investment veterans (like me!) me who can assist you along the way.

by David Lovendahl, Developing Paradise

--
For less than $12,000/acre www.DevelopingParadise.comhas developed coastal land for sale in Costa Rica, with roads and utilities, and offers FREE Closing.
There is so much to see and do when you visit Costa Rica…once you leave the beach and the city. Surprised? Well, don’t be! Despite what you might have heard, the real attraction in Costa Rica isn’t the nightlife. It’s the wildlife.

Costa Rica is one of the most ecologically diverse nations in the world and that’s not just lip service. It’s fact. Costa Rica is home to more than 10,000 varieties of plants, 1,000+ fish, hundreds of amphibians and reptiles, and tens of thousands of insect species. To get an idea of just how much wildlife there is in Costa Rica, think of it this way: There are approximately 16 unique species within every square kilometer of Costa Rica’s rich land. Some of my favorites include the Sloth, Leatherback Sea Turtle, Vampire Bat, Costa Rican Tapir, and Three-wattled Bellbird. Bet you haven’t heard of any of those, have you? I hadn’t either until I started visiting Costa Rica.

Well, here’s a crash course on Costa Rica’s exotic wildlife:

A Sloth is a species of animal that’s kin to the anteater and armadillo. The two varieties of Sloth that still exist in Costa Rica are the Brown-throated, Three-toed Sloth and the larger Hoffmann’s Two-toed Sloth. Meanwhile, the Leatherback Sea Turtle is the largest species of turtle in the world. Leatherback Sea Turtles can weigh up to 1100 pounds!

The Costa Rican Tapir is a unique site to see because it will remind you of animals that you’re familiar with but you’ll still know that you’re looking at something completely new. The Costa Rican Tapir (aka Baird’s Tapir), if you can imagine it, looks like a cross between a hog and a short-trunk elephant. It’s not actually a cross between the two but that’s what it looks like. Despite their size and girth—Costa Rica Tapirs can weigh as much as 600 pounds—Tapirs are typically gentle creatures. Other types of Tapirs are indigenous to other parts of Central and South America as well as other countries.

Moving on to exotic winged animals that are part of Costa Rica’s wildlife, the Three-wattled Bellbird hides out in Costa Rica’s cloud forests. Sightings, because of the cloud cover, are rare. However, hearing these exotic birds is quite common. If you take a daylight eco-tour to a cloud forest, you’ll know the Three-wattled Bellbird is nearby when you hear the male’s call, which sounds like the high-pitched clang of two pieces of metal hitting one another.

Finally, the Vampire Bat; they’re just what you’d think of when you think of a vampire…except Vampire Bats don’t sleep in coffins. Instead, Vampire Bats live in dark caverns. The Vampire Bats, like vampires often portrayed in movies, do thrive in the night and feed on the blood of mammals. But don’t worry. You’ll be safe if you visit Costa Rica because the mammals the vampire bats feed on tend to be domesticated animals, poultry and cattle.

Where Costa Rica’s exotic animals are found is just as diverse as the type of wildlife. Cloud forests, as I mentioned earlier, as well as rainforests, jungles, wetlands, and natural parks are just some of the nature-rich areas that the wildlife inhabits. In all, there are more than two-dozen unique wildlife habitat regions situated across the country. If you’re planning on visiting Costa Rica anytime soon, the major exotic animal havens are Corcovado National Park, Amistad International Park, Turrialba Volcano National Park, and Las Baulas National Marine Park.

by David Lovendahl, Developing Paradise

--
Paradise Brokers www.paradisebrokers.comis developing paradise™ in Costa Rica as a full service, turnkey real estate, development and property management company.

For more information, contact 1-877 CRLand1, (1 877 275-2631) or in Dominical, Costa Rica call 506 787-0181.
What do you think of when you hear the word “Costa Rica?” If you’re like most, the words / phrases that come to mind most are “Spanish,” “beach,” “clubbing,” and “fun in the sun.” Those are all good things for a place that’s known as a vacation destination but what should also come to mind is “exotic wildlife.”

While Costa Rica does have hundreds of miles of coastline that were seemingly made for fun in the sun as well as beaches along which many nightclubs where Spanish-speaking Costa Ricans work and party, Costa Rica has many more acres of varied terrain that are like no other in the Americas or the world. In fact, the land is so ecologically diverse that Costa Rica’s government has the lands under strict protections. In all, approximately 25% of Costa Rica’s land is protected.

Costa Rica land is comprised of more than a dozen protected animal safe havens as well as dozens of forests and national parks where much of Costa Rica’s wildlife lives. The exotic animals that live in Costa Rica come from all categories of animals. So, what kind of Costa Rica wildlife can you expect to see? Well, have you ever seen a sloth? What about a Scarlet Macaw, an Ocelot, or a Jabiru? No? Perhaps turtles then. You’re probably more familiar with turtles, right? So, have you ever heard of a Leatherback Turtle? Not that either? Actually, I’m not surprised because that’s just the tip of the exotic wildlife living in Costa Rica.

There are literally several hundred varieties of insects, birds, reptiles, and mammals living throughout Costa Rica’s nature reserves…and you probably haven’t heard of any of them, but you can. All you have to do is take a hiatus from the beach and go on an eco-tour. In addition to the thousands of unique animals indigenous to Costa Rica, there is also plenty of exotic plant life. So, by the time you trek through the Costa Rica’s unique lands—the swamps, jungles, rainforests, dry forests, cloud forests, etc.—and spend a few days exploring the beach and nearby cities, you’re sure to have one of the most exciting and exotic vacations that you could ever imagine.

by David Lovendahl, Developing Paradise

--
Paradise Brokers www.paradisebrokers.comis developing paradise™ in Costa Rica as a full service, turnkey real estate, development and property management company.

For more information, contact 1-877 CRLand1, (1 877 275-2631) or in Dominical, Costa Rica call 506 787-0181.
Costa Rica is quite possibly the most vibrant, rich, and beautiful real estate on this earth. The land, though developed in some areas with more and more development emerging every day, is highly protected by the Costa Rica government. Why? Because Costa Rica’s ecosystem is unlike any other in the world; there are thousands of unique animal and plant life species indigenous to the nation.

Just reviewing the different varieties of plant life in Costa Rica could take days, weeks even. At last check, there were about 10,000 species of plant life either speckled throughout Costa Rica or concentrated in one of the many ecological systems of the diverse nation. I mean, a fern is a fern to me—and probably you too—but did you know that there are 800+ species of fern in Costa Rica alone? And Orchids. Did you know that there are 1200 types of those too? Well there are, and all of them can be found in Costa Rica. Kind of puts the riches of Costa Rica plant life in perspective, doesn’t it?

Costa Rica is able to maintain such an array of plant life because of it’s varied climates, which create the many ecological systems that work in harmony across the nation. Costa Rica is literally the one location in the world where you can find cloud forests, rainforests, dry forests, jungles, swamps, mountains, valleys, volcanoes wetlands and mangroves in a concentrated area no larger than the size of Virginia! Traveling across the country is an amazing sight to see and an unforgettable experience. Without a doubt, this combination of Costa Rica’s unique plant life and ever-changing terrain certainly are what provide the nation with it’s many priceless views.

Costa Rica’s incomparable land and plant life has made the nation increasingly popular over the last 10 years; so much so, in fact, that their government now earns more than 50% of the nation’s income from tourism and is currently experiencing a major boom in Costa Rica real estate investment. Though Costa Rican officials are interested in strengthening the nation’s economy by providing more land for development in tourist and non-tourist areas, officials have resisted the temptation to allow all of the nation’s precious real estate to be sold. Instead, they’re resolved to protect it. As a result, more than 25% of the Costa Rica’s land—including, but not limited to all of the ecologically diverse regions—is completely protected.

by David Lovendahl, Developing Paradise

--
www.DevelopingParadise.comprovides the ultimate in FREE information products for everyone who is looking to Costa Rica for fun or investment.
Real estate investment is excellent in all areas of Costa Rica but those who invested in Costa Rica real estate in the past, especially the Northern Pacific coast, are now seeing great returns. Some of those investors have seen ROIs of up to 200% on their investments in less than three years. While it’s expected that Costa Rica’s real estate market will continue to thrive in general, the real estate market on Costa Rica’s Southern Pacific coast is also picking up momentum.

Want proof? Well, even the Costa Rican government believes that there’s potential for major investment opportunities on Costa Rica’s Southern Pacific coast. They’ve already built a state-of-the-art, 80,000 sq. ft. medical center to service the region and more big things are in the works; two of them that will certainly boost the value of land on the Southern Pacific coast of Costa Rica are the new international airport and the extension of the Costanera Highway. The highway will finally connect the North Pacific coast with the Southern Pacific coast and the airport, well that will do away with the 3.5-hour drive from the Juan Santamaria International Airport in San Jose to Costa Rica’s Southern Pacific coast. Both projects will have an immense impact on the Southern Pacific region because they will bring something that the area has never really had before…easy accessibility!

The fact that Costa Rica’s government is pouring money into the Southern Pacific coast isn’t the only reason why the South Pacific region is a quickly becoming a white-hot real estate market. The incentives the government is offering to foreign investors—low property taxes, full property ownership, extremely affordable pricing, etc.—is also sparking interest in the Southern Pacific coast of Costa Rica. Additionally, those looking to invest in Costa Rica real estate find that the area provides more options that the other regions of Costa Rica. The Southern Pacific coast of Costa Rica is still a somewhat remote area (though there are paved roads, access to utilities, and people already living in the area) so it is less developed and thus less crowded than other parts of Costa Rica.

Perhaps the greatest factor that gives the Southern Pacific coast real estate its sizzle its varied terrain. There are ocean, mountain, and valley views available, all within miles of each other. Some of the developed Southern Pacific coast real estate also has rainforests, which is a big plus since Costa Rica’s exotic ecological features are what attract many foreigners to the nation. Those four factors, coupled with all of the government improvements, signify that there is mucho dinero to be made—for the country and those that invest in Costa Rica real estate.

by Dave Lovendahl, Developing Paradise TM

--
www.DevelopingParadise.com has amazing FREE products For You about Costa Rica investments, vacations and retirement?
Retiring In Paradise, Not Florida!

Times have changed. In the 1970s, Florida was the standard retirement relocation destination. This was because most retirees wanted was to live somewhere with decent weather that would make their bones feel better or help their breathing so they could live out their lives in serenity. Then, in the early 1990s, Phoenix and cities around Las Vegas surfaced as alternative, more hip retirement locations. The dream for most of those retirees was to simply live somewhere with ‘arthritis and lung-friendly weather’ that provided activities beyond shuffleboard and Bingo to keep them busy.

Retirees sure didn’t want much back in those days, did they?

Today, retirees are quite different. They’re retiring younger, so serenity is the last thing they want. Ask anyone approaching retirement age and most will say, “Serenity is for my 85 year-old parents! I’ve worked all of my life and now I want to enjoy it.” Instead of serenity, the retirees of the 21st century want warm weather, proximity to medical care, and access to action—golfing, boating, fishing, swimming, nature trails, etc. Then to top it all off, they don’t want to just “get by” in retirement and have to penny pinch for the last 35 or 40 years of their life. They don’t want to wither away, fearful of whether they’ll have enough money in five years. They want to live carefree and enjoy life! That means that the typical retirement locations are out. Florida, Las Vegas, Phoenix, etc. aren’t top choices because the cost of building, renting, or purchasing real estate is too high and the cost of living in those areas just isn’t affordable for most people living on a fixed income. In fact, the cost of living is too high across most of America for the limited monthly income that the average American has to live off of in retirement. Those factors combined have made retirees and pre-retirees seek our alternative retirement locations. Know where they’re headed? Costa Rica.

Does that sound odd to you? …the fact that retirees are considering moving to another country just to retire? Well, get used to it because with all that Costa Rica has to offer for retirees, it just might become the rule for North American retirees rather than the exception. Here’s a look at the top five reasons why retirees are relocating to Costa Rica:

Low Cost Of Living – Retirees can live off of as little of $1,200 each month but with a monthly income of $2,000 per month, they can make mortgage payments, enjoy leisure activities, and even have a maid and/or gardener on hand.

Warm Weather – The tropical conditions in Costa Rica are ideal for those who have cold-weather or breathing sensitive medical conditions.

Proximity To The U.S. – Getting home to see children and grandchildren is easy for retirees. Flights are readily available in and out of Costa Rica to a myriad of U.S. locations; retirees can be back in the U.S. or their family in the U.S. can be in Costa Rica in a matter of hours if the need arose.

Exceptional Real Estate Opportunities – Real estate, on average, is 50% (or more) cheaper in Costa Rica compared to equivalent investments in North America, allowing retirees to downsize their mortgage payments without downsizing their lifestyle.

Costa Rica Real Estate Is An Excellent Investment For Padding Retirement Savings – Between the tourists and the retirees flocking to Costa Rica, the value of real estate is steadily growing. Many Costa Rica real estate investments appreciate at 5 to 10 times the rate of appreciation of property in even the hottest of U.S. locations; Some investors have completely recouped their initial investment in 2 years, and then continued on to collect the significant profits of appreciation on their investment.

Admittedly, deciding to move out of the country is a big decision. It’s not for everybody so I’m going to close out with this advice:

If you’re planning on retiring but aren’t certain about living abroad to do so, now’s the time to buy in the States. It’s a buyer’s market since the real estate industry is experiencing a downturn and you might find an exceptional deal. If, however, retiring in Costa Rica sounds like something that would interest you, look into it! Do the necessary research, much of which can be found through a compilation of resources on the Developing Paradise website, or by simply surfing the Internet, and then weigh your options…without others whispering in your ear!
Remember: It’s your retirement and you have to foot the bill for it, not your friends or family. So, if living in Costa Rica sounds good to you, seriously consider learning more.

by David Lovendahl, Developing Paradise

--
www.DevelopingParadise.comprovides the ultimate in FREE information products for everyone who is looking to Costa Rica for fun or investment.
New Opportunities Springing Up In Costa Rica Real Estate!

I’ve been traveling to and from Costa Rica for the last 20 years. When I first heard about the real estate opportunities, I can’t say that I jumped on them right away. Instead, I did my own research then I sprang into action. It’s been a profitable move for me as the whispers of yesteryear about Costa Rica land purchase opportunities are now more like a dull roar. More and more people are discovering the opportunities and as a current investor in Costa Rica real estate, that means that my property is going to appreciate even more. For you, the dull roar means that there’s still time for you to do your own research into Costa Rica…and to buy, if you like what you learn.

I bought Costa Rica real estate a few years back in Guanacaste. That’s the northern Pacific coast of Costa Rica, which is extremely popular for tourists. So far, I’ve been very pleased with how my property has grown in value. However, I have noticed that there’s buzz floating among Costa Rica real estate insiders that, while the northern Pacific coast will continue to appreciate, other equally profitable real estate investment opportunities are popping up along the southern Pacific coast as well. Since I am the Developing Paradise S.A. “Costa Rica Information Specialist,” I couldn’t wait to find out more about the new real estate trends in Costa Rica. So, to find out what the story behind the buzz was, I contacted a few companies involved in that area of the country. (Companies known to be “in the know” about everything dealing with the Costa Rica real estate market!) Here’s what I found out:

1. A new, state-of-the art medical facility has been built in the southern Pacific coast of Costa Rica.

2. There are several residential developments already in the works for the region, which has sparked other real estate activity in the area as well.

3. The Costa Rican government is investing approximately $100 million dollars in Costa Rica’s southern pacific region.

4. It’s been confirmed that some of those monies will be used for road improvements in that area. In fact, one of the projects is the expansion of a major coastal highway that will ultimately connect the northern and southern Pacific coastal regions.

5. And the biggest news of all: A large chunk of the funds will be used to build Costa Rica’s third international airport.

As an avid real estate investor, all of that was music to my ears. It should be to your ears too if you’re looking for a profitable real estate investment. After all, anytime there’s improvement in an area, property values go up and the owners of property in that area make money. Big money! So, there you have it. The complete buzz on the latest developments in the Costa Rica real estate market.
The experts say that the key to making money is to invest without using your own money. It’s a nice notion but I haven’t come across too many people in my lifetime who have put their hand with $500,000 in it and said, “Here, do what you want,” without some thick strings being attached. (If you have, please invite me to meet all of your friends!) Banking on the fact that your experiences are like mine, I suggest that you do the next best thing: Pool your money and find an investment that has the best potential to pay you back the fastest with the highest returns. For me, and thousands of other investors today, that investment is Costa Rica real estate.

Costa Rica real estate has been on the rise for the last 15 years. No, that’s an understatement. Real estate values in Costa Rica have skyrocketed over the last 15 years. Many of the real estate investors who bought Costa Rica land or invested in various Costa Rica real estate properties during the 1990s and early 2000s made all of their initial investment back within the first two years (or less.) And today, many of those investments are worth 300% of the initial investment.

A bulk of the wealth that Costa Rica real estate investors are enjoying is due to the thriving tourist market. The Northern Pacific coast has become a tourist mecca over the years, making those who’ve built hotels or resorts and vacation rental homes have made obscene amounts of money. Meanwhile, people who invested in other regions are welcoming more modest returns, which are still greater than almost any equivalent investments made in the North America. The point is: No other current real estate investment can compare to real estate investment returns in Costa Rica. I’ve seen this firsthand through my company Developing Paradise S.A., which provides the necessary information to ‘get the ball rolling’ to invest, retire or just vacation in Costa Rica. Based on the amount of other companies having similar functions, this attests to the strength of the Costa Rica real estate market also.

I should mention that when buying real estate in a foreign country, you do have to be careful. Do not try to cut corners and do not try to everything on your own. Though the Costa Rican government has put measures into place to simplify the process, the way real estate transactions in Costa Rica are executed is a bit different from how they’re done in the U.S. Therefore it’s imperative that you work with a reputable company. Now, you can (and should) perform independent research so that you can corroborate what the experts are telling you with your own findings. To find the most comprehensive collection of investor resources for Costa Rica real estate, the first place to look is the web. There are a number of resources out there available that you can waft through to find the information you need. Or, you can take the easier, more direct route and just contact me. I can provide you with at least several dozen web links that will be excellent, unbiased resources where you can find the information you’re looking for.

by David Lovendahl, Developing Paradise S.A.

--
Developing Paradise S.A. has FREE amazing and informative products for Investors, Tourists, and Retirees wanting to discover Paradise in Costa Rica.
It never fails. When I meet someone who has read any of the articles that I’ve written about Costa Rica, the number one question is: “Why are you always raving about Costa Rica real estate? That’s usually followed up by: “What does Costa Rica have that other places don’t have?” or “It just seems like it wouldn’t be a good idea to invest in real estate in a foreign country.” The questions surprise me every time…but not because of what you’d think.

I’m never surprised that the questions are asked but rather at the fact that people still feel the need to ask the question. Though I’m a huge proponent of Costa Rica, I’m not the only person who knows about the great real estate opportunities there. I’m certainly not the only one who has made significant profits from investing in Costa Rica land either. Still, when I come across a person with a question or comment like that above, I just tell them the truth. I say, “I do it because right now, in this first decade of the 21st century, there is no better, safer place to invest money.” You know what they say next? “Tell me more!” Here’s how I explain it to them…

Costa Rica has a lot of undeveloped land. About one quarter of it is protected to maintain the nation’s unique biodiversity but much of the land is earmarked for development purposes. Demand for land is strong, and steadily growing, but it doesn’t outweigh the supply YET. Therefore, prices for Costa Rica land lots are low. Inevitably, the person I’m speaking with asks, “How low?”

I usually give them an example. For instance, what comes to mind right now is a community in the southern Pacific of Costa Rica that I’ve heard about. There, an investor can purchase a half-acre to 1.25 acres of golf course or waterfront land for under $80,000. Add a four bedroom, three and half bathroom house to the mix and they could spend less than $200,000 for both. Property in any other similar location—Hawaii, Jamaica, the Bahamas, Mexico, etc.—would cost two to three times that much. Next, I tell them that property taxes one quarter of one percent of the value of the property, and then they’re really interested. (For those who aren’t math wizards, that’s about $250 for every $100,000!) After that, I give them my top financial reason for investing in Costa Rica real estate: The fact that returns of 100% or more in the first two years of ownership are common!

Once people learn about all of the financial perks of investing in Costa Rica real estate, they understand why I rave about Costa Rica and why investing in a foreign country is a good idea. It makes financial sense and millions of cents. The thing is, that conversation leads to a whole new conversation. It usually begins with, “Can you help me ________,” but I don’t mind. Makes me feel good to help others get on the path to financial freedom and knowing what it feels like to own a piece of paradise.

by David Lovendahl, Developing Paradise TM

--
Paradise Brokers www.ParadiseBrokers.net is developing paradise in Costa Rica as a full service real estate investment, development and management company.
