Australia is the biggest island and the smallest continent on the Earth. It received its name due to the Latin "Terra Australis Incognita" – “Southern unknown land”. Australia is the only country occupying the whole continent. Here you can see the super modern metropolises, the driest deserts, the best beaches, coral reefs and much more.
Australian cities differ much from the cities in Europe. They look more like the American ones, but still have their own appearance. There are no ancient attractions; it’s a kingdom of glass, steel, modern buildings and comfortable roads.
Sydney is the largest city in Australia and the administrative centre of the New South Wales province. It is the most developed Australian city, the financial and industrial capital. The original Sydney Opera is not only an architectural sightseeing but the leading country’s stage too. Another Sydney symbol is The Harbour Bridge. The tourist centre in Sydney is Darling Harbour with exhibition centers, shops, restaurants and cafes.
Melbourne is the second biggest city and the centre of Victoria province. It has been always struggling with Sydney for the name of Australian cultural capital. Sydney is famous for its Opera, Melbourne – for its ballet. As one of the sport leading cities in the county Melbourne houses the Australian open (tennis) and one of the stages of Formula-1 Grand Prix. Melbourne is a green city with cozy streets and houses. One of the things Melbourne is associated with is tram. It is a very popular man of transport and on of the city symbols.
The capital of Australia, Canberra is a relatively small city. It’s the city of politicians and bureaucrats, but there is a lot more in Canberra. Historic attractions include Captain Cook Memorial Water Jet; New Parliament House; Old Parliament House; Telstra Tower; St. Christopher's Cathedral; the National Archives of Australia; the National Library of Australia; and Canberra's Royal Australian Mint.
Another significant city in Australia is Adelaide, the capital of South Australia. It is an elegant city beside the Torrens River, between the Adelaide Hills and the Gulf of St Vincent. It is very green city with a lot of gardens and parks.
The main city of the Queensland state, Brisbane, is the perfect place to relax and have a rest. It lies on the coast and has very good beaches.
All the Australian coasts are famous for its beautiful beaches, but the Gold Coast is the most famous one. It is an ideal choice for those who like sun, sand, relaxed lifestyle and surfing. It’s a very comfortable place with good hotels and other accommodation.
This paradise strongly differs from the rough deserts in the middle of the country. This part of the Australia is mainly inhabited by the aborigines. There are no good roads, big cities or any comfort at all. There are farms, sands and mines. This territory has its own charm too, but you should know what to be prepared to.
Australia is separated from the other parts of the world, thus its nature is really unique. The best-known Australian animal is kangaroo. There are also duck-bills and other species you can’t meet anywhere else.

--
If you like to know about how to book hotel in any country of the world, please visit www.allrez.com

Source: http://www.articletrader.com

Argentina is the second biggest country on the continent and one of the most powerful. Argentina is considered to be the most European country in Latin America. It has attracted a lot of emigrants during the XXth century, which changed country a lot.
European influence is strongly felt in its culture, architecture and life style, but the Argentineans managed to keep its unique identity. It’s especially obvious in Argentine’s literature. The names of Jorge Luis Borges, Julio Cortazar and other Argentinean authors have become the symbols of Latin America “magic realism”.
Argentina has less ancient Indian attractions than, for example, Peru or Bolivia, but there is still a lot to see.
The capital city of Argentina, Buenos Aires is a cosmopolitan city, having always been the gates to the country. From the observation windows on the top you can enjoy a beautiful panorama of Buenos Aires.
The Colon Theatre in Buenos Aires is one of the most important lyrical theatres in the world.
Argentina has some popular resorts – the most famous one is Mar del Plata. The resort lies on the Atlantic Coast at approximately 400 km south of Buenos Aires. Mar del Plata disposes the best beaches in South America. The nature is really beautiful there – the combination of dunes and cliffs make an unusual dramatic impression.
One of the most outstanding natural attractions in Argentina is Iguazu Falls. The waterfall is situated in two countries – Argentina and Brazil and not far from Paraguay border. This waterfall is the result of a volcanic eruption and is taller than the famous Niagara Falls and twice as wide. The water falls from the cliff about 2.5 miles long and makes some 275 individual cascades and waterfalls. The surrounding jungle is also popular place among tourists. In Iguazu National Park one can enjoy a variety of animals and birds, and the beautiful greenery.
Another natural wonder in Argentina is Patagonia, occupying the significant part of the south of the country.
Having been the capital of the United States only for a year, New York is often called one of the world’s capitals. The significant part of international business, finance, commerce, fashion, cinema and so on and so far is concentrated there.
New York City has a nickname “the big apple”. There are several legends connected to the term, all they have in common only that the term appeared in 1920-30. The first legend says that during the Great depression well-to-do families had to make ends-meet by selling apples. The second refers to jazz musicians. They said 'There are many apples on the success tree, but when you pick New York City, you pick the Big Apple.' There is an opinion that the nickname came from the 'The Big Apple” club in New York. The other legend says that the nickname was invented by the sportswriter John Fitzgerald, who named his column about NYC's racetracks "Around the Big Apple".
New York City is located on the Atlantic coast of the United States, at the mouth of the Hudson River. The area of the modern New York began to be settled by the Europeans in the XVI century. Since the beginning of the XIX century New York has been the largest city in the United States. New York is a cosmopolitan city, where the emigrants make up the big part of its 8 million population.
New York City consists of five boroughs. They are Brooklyn, Bronx, Queens, Staten Island and Manhattan.
The most prestigious and renowned borough is Manhattan. It’s an island where the best theaters, cinemas and shops are located. One of the biggest attractions in Manhattan is Central Park - an oasis of green in the middle of New York City. Here you can escape from the city noise, relax and enjoy nature. Manhattan is also filled up the highest skyscrapers with the offices of the leading international corporations. However Manhattan isn’t only that chic. Harlem – one of the most dangerous city districts is also there. Many think that there’s nothing more in New York, than Manhattan, but other four boroughs are also worth seeing.
Brooklyn occupies the western part of the Long Island and the largest in population of all the five boroughs. Brooklyn is famous for its Botanic Garden, Brooklyn Bridge and Brighton Beach. Brighton Beach is one of the largest Russian communities in the United States.
The largest in area of New York City's five boroughs, Queens is more suburban in spirit. Like Brooklyn it is situated in the western part of the Long Island. Among the attractions in Queens are the New York Hall of Science and the Queens Zoo.
The Bronx is the only one borough that is part of mainland New York. The Harlem River separates The Bronx from the island of Manhattan. The Bronx's attractions include Yankee Stadium, home of the New York Yankees baseball club of the American League; the Bronx Zoo, Bronx High School of Science, Walton High School, Morris Park, the New York Botanical Garden.
Staten Island is the least populated of the five boroughs and the most geographically separated. You can there by ferry from Manhattan.
New York is magnetic city attracting a lot of tourists and emigrants every year.

--
If you like to know about how to book hotel in any country of the world, please visit www.allrez.com

Source: http://www.articletrader.com

This ancient city, now the capital of Italy, is also Mecca for all Catholics and one of the most popular tourist destinations in Italy. Its nickname, “the eternal city” emphasizes its long history and the important role Rome has always played in major European events.
Modern Rome with its population of about 4 millions is the biggest Italian city and the centre of the Lazio province.
Roman history began about 3000 years ago, when, according to some myths and legends, Rome was founded by two brothers – Romul and Rem. This legend has a sad end – Romul killed his brother and gave the city his own name. Since that time began the rise of the Roman Empire, which has reached its peak about 2 centuries B.C. The significant part of the attractions in the city is has to do with this period – several centuries before Christ birth and several centuries after it. However the roman art of that time represent a copy of the art in ancient Greece. The gods and their images are the same, only the names have changed.
But still, there are a lot of outstanding and unique objects and monuments.
The main symbol of the Roman glory is Coliseum. Today we would call it the central stadium. It has witnessed a countless number of the gladiators’ fights and the deaths of the first Christians (though the latter it’s not a historically proofed fact). Coliseum wasn’t restores. Its ruins mean much more…
Another Ancient Rome landmark is Roman Forum. It was commercial and political centre of the city, where the main historical events took place. Today it’s a museum under the sky.
Pantheon – a temple, devoted to all Roman gods is also an outstanding monument of the Roman art. It was built abou 125 A.D.
Constantine Arch of the IV century A.D. is the most famous triumphal arch and it is in rather good condition. It’s one of the latest symbols of the roman power.
The biggest and the most powerful pagan city, Rome later became one of the most important Christian centers as well. Vatican, the residence of the Pope, is located inside Roman borders, but it’s the state, though the smallest one in the world. Holy place for all Catholics, Vatican receives a lot of religious travelers from all over the world. The centre of the state is St Peters Basilica, which is the largest church in the world.
Renaissance epoch is also strongly connected with Rome. Greatest artists, architects and sculptors of that time lived and worked here. They left a lot of masterpieces, which we still can enjoy.
The Sistine Chapel in Vatican – is the leading historic, artistic and religious monument of the Renaissance was built 1475 and1483. It’s the Pope’s chapel and a place where the new Pope is being elected. Due to the beautiful frescos of Michelangelo it is also a very popular museum.
Trevi Fountain was created in XVIII century on demand of the Pope Clement XII. It’s richly decorated and represents the statue of Ocean on the big shell, which is a chariot.
Piazza di Spagna began to develop in XVIII century and later become one of the city’s most popular places. Spanish Steps – a long staircase, connecting the square with the Trinita' dei Monti church.

--
For booking a hotel in any part of the world, please, go to www.hotelsrates.net

Source: http://www.articletrader.com

When the winter begins the thousands and thousands of tourists rush to the Alps – the highest European mountain system with the most prestigious mountain resorts. The Alps occupy the part of Italy, France, Switzerland, Austria, Germany and the former Yugoslavia. The choice of a particular country can depend on the language spoken there, the attractions (except mountains) you can see there and the price.
Mountains are a kind of addiction – once having tasted, you will ask for more and more again. Here you can receive an enormous level of adrenaline and try all the extreme sports available – alpine skiing, luge, bobsleigh, snowboard and other winter sports.
So, let’s compare the Alps in the different countries.
Austrian Alps is Innsbruck, Kitzbuhel, Zell am See and St Anton. The most developed area is Lech in Tirol, called “the cradle of the mountain sport”. High above Lech lies Oberlech – real alpine paradise with great routes, discos, bars and shops. Innsbruck, the capital of Tirol is situated 575 meters above the sea level, but the mountains surrounding it are some 2000 meters higher. It guarantees an outstanding view from any point of the city. Kitzbuhel is one of the most beautiful and prestigious resorts. The resort is good for snowboard fans – special complex Snowboard Paradise is located on the slope.
Zell am See boasts the wide range of the ski routs of various difficulty. It is one of the most popular resorts in Austria, due to its democracy and variety of attractions. One of the oldest resort - St Anton has a century history and is considered to be one of the most important points in Alps.
German Alps begins on the Southern part f Bavaria. It occupies less significant part than in Austria but there are some attractive resorts too. The highest-lying village in Alps Oberstdorf has become one of the popular ski resorts. Oberstdorf is close to the Austrian Tirol. It is not only a resort; it is a popular place for holding up winter sports championships too. Garmisch-Partenkirchen is among the best Alpine resorts and is also a popular place for winter sports competitions. Here I should mention, that the Germans are the best fans in winter sports ever. The stages of the different winter sports World Cups in Germany attract much more visitors then in any other country. Biathlon, ski jumping and cross-country skiing are extremely popular there.
Though it may sound strange, Italy can be called “the most Alpine country of the world”. Italian Alps stretches for more than a thousand kilometers and the highest Alpine peak – Montblanc is located in Italy. Italian popular resorts Madonna di Campiglio, Val di Fiemme and Cortina d'Ampezzo are the world leading alpine skiing centers.
France is famous for its winter resorts too. They are mostly known for the high level of service, the most fashionable hotels and, of course, mountains. There are no other places on the earth like Courchevel. It has become a symbol of the luxury and prestige. It’s the place to show off. Those, who just want to ski, should better choose some other resort. Chamonix is more democratic, but still very cozy and renowned.
Switzerland is the last in our list of Alpine countries. Its resorts are considered to be rather expensive, but there are some affordable places too. The most prestigious resorts are Zermatt, Saint Moritz, and Davos. They are an ideal choice for the most demanding travelers with its chic boutiques, the best hotels and the magnificent mountain routes. Davos is also the home for the annual economic summit, visited by the world-leaders. The cheaper resorts are Grindelwald and Gstaad.
As you can see the choice of resorts in Alps is really enormous, but why to choose? You can visit all of them and then decide which one you prefer.

--
If you like to know about how to book hotel in any country of the world, please visit www.allrez.com

Source: http://www.articletrader.com

Hitchhiking is a way of traveling when you are short of money or just want to experience an adventure you will never get when traveling with comfort. Both these causes lead to one result – you come on the road and try to catch a car.
Some hitchhikers know the exact point where they want to turn out to be, but some never know where and when their trip will finish.
Some piece of advice before you begin your trip.

1)	If you know your destination point, you’d better to think over your route not to find yourself far away from the desired city.
2)	Be extra careful, because the hitchhiking is always a risk. Take you mobile and try to be in touch with your friends or relatives (if connection allows, of course).
3)	Be careful with your money – don’t store all them in one place.
4)	Don’t take too much luggage – you’ll be tired very soon.
5)	Take all you may need – if your route passes far from the cities you may have no chance to by all the necessary things.
6)	When you travel alone the risk increases twice – so, may be it’s better to have a fellow traveler. There are a lot clubs and communities of hitchhikers (for example, in Internet) where you not only can find a fellow traveler but also receive a useful advise.

What attracts people in hitchhiking is the feeling of freedom and the opportunity to have the real adventure. It’s a challenge in some way and some people like to accept it. Some hitchhikers like to have a chance to meet new people and to make friends.
Of course, sometimes such meetings are not exiting at all – the boring drivers desiring to describe you their whole lives is the least of the problems. Everybody knows the proverb – don’t talk to the strangers. It has sense because some of them are really dangerous. If you are locked up in a car with such a person, the best thing is to use your gas spray can and to clear out of the car. So, don’t forget to include your aerosol in list of the necessary things.
Although the hitchhiking is supposed to be free of charge, be ready to pay sometimes. May be the only driver going in your direction will not intend to pick up you for free.
Speaking about the best routs for hitchhiking – it’s Europe and the United States. The reason? The highways are better, the traffic is intensive and you surely get to the point in a short time. And, again, no borders, no extra visa, no problems with the customs. It’s all true, but if you want the real challenge you can go to some wild part of Asia or Africa. It will be difficult to catch a car (just because they are not widespread there) and if don’t know the language it will be hard to explain what you want. However when you reach your destination you will feel yourself a hero, or at least, a brave traveler seeking for the unknown places.
As for where to stay for the night – the real hitchhiker tries not to stay in the hotels of even in campings. He or she would prefer to stay on the nature or the house of the local inhabitant.
Now the hitchhiking has become some kind of sport – and there are some competitions in this field. The aim is to achieve some point in the shortest time and not to pay for it. On TV there are even some shows, devoting to hitchhiking. Its popularity increases. Why? The suggestion is that people are fed up with their comfortable lives and like to feel the adrenaline and to participate in an adventure. As far as the West concerned, it’s true, but as it was said in the beginning, some choose this way of traveling just because they have no money.

--
For booking a hotel in any part of the world, please, go to www.bb72.com

Source: http://www.articletrader.com

The largest country on the Earth, Russia stretches from the Eastern Europe borders to the Pacific Ocean. It’s impossible to learn such a big country in one single trip, but there are some points on the Russian map you surely shouldn’t miss when visiting this country.
At first, of course, its capital – Moscow. With its population over 10 millions, Moscow is one of the largest metropolises on the planet and it’s growing even bigger. A city with an ancient history, having celebrated its 850th anniversary not so long ago, Moscow keeps a lot of testimonies of the Russian historical events. In the centre of the capital there is the famous Red Square with the Kremlin, which has been destroyed and rebuilt several times during the centuries of its existence. Red Square is a symbol of Moscow and a lot of the important events were happened here. Red Square also houses mausoleum where one the Russian leaders – Lenin – is buried. Now the square has become not only a tourist attraction but also the popular ground for the concerts.
Nearby the Red Square there is located the building of the Russian Parliament – Duma and the world-famous Bolshoy Theatre. Moscow also has a lot of parks where you can enjoy plesant walks. Izmailovo, Colomenskoe, Tzaritzino, Sokolniki – are just some of them. Some decades ago Moscow was a typical Soviet city where was impossible to buy something. Now shopping is not a problem in Moscow, here you can find the boutiques of the leading designers, but usually prices are higher than in Europe.
The other Russian city, which attracts a lot of tourists and really worth visiting – is its former capital Saint Petersburg. The city, which was built in 1703 on the marsh, for more than two centuries was the empire capital. Now it’s the second largest city in Russia and is considered to be its cultural capital. Due to the huge amount of the channels Saint Petersburg received the nickname of the “Northern Venice”. It’s beautiful city with a lot of architectural monuments ad the city centre there the city government is saving the historic buildings so, that the centre looks like in XIXth century. The best time to visit this city is June – a period of the so-called white nights when the sun never sets down.
The other popular tourist attractions in Russia lay within the “Golden Ring”. It’s a group of the ancient cities famous for its churches, architecture and the glorious history. They are situated not far from each other and usually are show during one tour lasting for approximately 4-6 days. Vladimir, Yaroslavl, Kostroma, Tver are just some of them.
Another tour, allowing to know Russia better is a cruise along Volga. There is possibility to visit ancient Russian cities such as Samara, Kazan, Saratov, Nizhniy Novgorod, Volgograd and other cities on the Volga banks. Cruise can start from Moscow or Petersburg and usually takes about 20 days.
All the above-mentioned destinations lay in the European part of Russia, but its Asian part also has what to show. For example, the lake Baikal is still considered to be the clearest lake on the earth. Siberia and the Far East have less cultural attractions than the European part, but the nature there is really magnificent and unique. So, these places are perfect for eco-tourism.
All this is just a short description of what is worth seeing in Russia, but the list is not complete, so come there and make your own discoveries!

--
For booking a hotel in any part of the world, please, go to www.hotelsrates.net

Source: http://www.articletrader.com
