What could be so powerful, and so healing? A substance you may have in your spice rack . . . sage. And it’s no

accident that its Latin name, salvia, means “to heal.”

There are numerous health benefits from this ‘miracle herb.’ Sage, for example, is a remarkable antioxidant, which

fight destructive free radicals within the bodies’ cells. Scientific researchers have found that the oil of sage

contains antibacterial properties and can be effectively used as antifungal and antiviral agents. These same

studies discovered that sage can calm the nerves, relieve tension headaches, and sharpen the senses.

Want some sage advice? Try adding this herb to your favorite soups, stews, and casseroles. In the June 2003 issue

of Pharmacological Biochemical Behavior, scientists confirmed that that sage can enhance your memory. In this

placebo-controlled, double-blind, crossover study, 45 young adults were given either placebo or a standardized

essential oil extract of sage in doses ranging from 50 to 150 microls. Cognitive tests were then conducted one,

two, three, four, five, and 6 hours afterwards. Those given even the smallest dose of sage had much better recall

than those given the placebo.

Moreover, sage extract is used to treat sore throats, inflammations of the mouth and the gum disease gingivitis.

Some people even chew fresh sage leaves to clean their teeth and strengthen their gums. It’s no surprise, then,

that sage is an ingredient in modern toothpastes.

This is all good news considering that sage is used around the world to stimulate even the blandest cuisine. For

example, a common British use is to cook sage with onion for pork, chicken and turkey stuffing. A popular French

use is for cooking in vegetable soups. The Germans use it to flavor sausage dishes. Ancient China used it for tea

(instead of their traditional tea). And in Western cooking it is widely used as a major ingredient in meat

marinades and to flavor a variety of foods. It is considered one of the most significant culinary herbs in Western

cooking. You may spice up your foods by adding sage to your: tomato sauces; omelets and frittatas; slices of

pizza; baked chicken or fish; or even some plain yogurt.

However, not all sage is created equal. Even through dried herbs and spices like sage are widely available in

supermarkets, you may want to explore some specialty shops to get the highest grade possible.

For top quality, organic sage, simply click on http://www.rawleigh-products.com. Started in the 1800’s, Raweigh

provides forgotten yet effective home remedies, nutritional supplements, and world-class spices. So please visit

this site; it’s the sage thing to do.

--

Vincent Platania represents the Rawleigh Products. W.T.
The Effects of Sterols in Lowering Cholesterol

Plant sterols can be found in many foods you eat, but eating enough of them to get the desired amount of plant sterols to lower your cholesterol can be hard. It is said that it would take some one hundred pounds of fruit and nuts in order to get the 2 grams of sterols needed to effectively lower cholesterol daily.

Plant sterols work by inhibiting cholesterol absorption when the cholesterol reaches the small intestine. Consuming two grams of sterols daily can lower bad cholesterol or LDL levels by at least 10%. Finding a cholesterol sterol drink to help you get the proper amount of effective ingredients can be a great way to get beneficial treatment in your fight against high cholesterol.

The Delivery is another Key Factor

Plant sterols were first introduced into fat soluble foods to make solubility better incorporated with PS esters. It was first found in such products as margarine, low fat milk and yogurt. Researchers now believe that taking plant sterols at a particular time is more important than what they are contained in. The optimal time to consume a cholesterol sterol drink is during mealtimes, with food, rather than snacking or drinking it between meals. Drinking a beverage that contains plant sterols along with your meal instead of sipping on water, milk, juice or soda can be an effective way to deliver the desirable effects.

Though you can still reap benefits of taking plant sterols between meals, blind studies showed that there was a 10% reduction of LDL cholesterol when a sterol drink was added at mealtime and just 7.5% reduction when taken between meals either in a liquid or solid form.

Where Can I Find Sterol Drinks?

Any visit to a natural market or health food store will have a supply of plant sterol enriched foods and drinks. When you shop online you will have access to a vast variety of drinks that will be loaded with not only plant sterols but other healthy ingredients that will target lowering your cholesterol naturally. You can find great deals and easily comparison shop when you look to purchase plant sterol drinks on the internet.
One great product is Pulsate Plus. It is a tasty drink that can be sipped along with your healthy meal to help you to lower your cholesterol without any ill effects. Pulsate Plus along with many other natural cholesterol remedies can be found on the internet at prices you can well afford for your good health.

Visit http://www.rawleigh-products.com

--

Vincent Platania represents the a>.

All required data such as Media files, URLs, Player instructions and scheduling are sent from Tycoon Server to the

designated shared LAN folder or FTP Server, depending on the communication method selected. Meanwhile, each Tycoon Player connects independently at a preset connection interval and retrieves

it’s playback data. This is a background process that does not affect the currently played media, enabling network

operators to update their displays at any time. Any web pages or streaming media URLs are sent to the Player as part of their

update and then each Player connects to these data sources individually. This is the only time a Navori Tycoon network operator will require permanent IP

at the Player end otherwise you can upload a year’s worth of media and scheduling and disconnect the Player from your

LAN or the internet.

Another benefit is enhanced security. Since Tycoon Players operate independently and initiate communication with their

respective data source, it is far less likely that someone could hijack the Player and inject undesired media in the

Player’s play lists. In fact, any altered media file will simply be rejected by the Player. The file will be skipped

leaving the remaining content in the play list intact. This preserves the integrity of the Players over time.

--

Véronique Dutoit
Sales President
NAVORI SA
World Trade Center
Avenue Gratta Paille 2
CH-1000 Lausanne
Switzerland
digital signage
The Navori Tycoon digital signage

Source: http://www.articletrader.com

Anyone looking at the number of much-hyped superhero films at the box office could stake the claim comics have never been bigger, but a quick view of comic book history, however, reveals while comics have never soared to higher heights in the movie gross, this fantastic foundation has never been more unstable.

Comic books were an easy fit for 1930’s America. They were cheap, easy to produce, and even easier to sell. With large booms in pulp, radio shows and comic strips, comic books were the next logical step. It was the arrival of Superman in 1938 and Batman roughly a year later that heralded not only the rise of superheroes, but the Golden Age of Comics.

The entry of the United States into World War II didn’t halt comic book reading – if anything it accelerated it, with heroes were throwing down with the likes the Nazis and dictators even before the bombs fell upon Pearl Harbor. Once the war began, comics weren’t just morale boosters – they were part of the war effort like any other industry. Patriotic heroes like Captain America urged the purchase of war bonds, and entire runs of comics were bough from the stands and scrapped for recycling to help overseas troops. Though such sacrifices played their part in the “Greatest Generation”, they would have far-reaching ramifications on the comic industry in later generations – nearly forty years later.

The 1950’s dramatically altered the superhero landscape. Noted psychiatrist Frederic Wertham published “Seduction of the Innocent”, a book which pinned much of society’s ills on comics. He alleged Batman and Robin were homosexuals, and Wonder Woman was not only a lesbian, but also a threat to the woman’s place in the American household. Wertham’s scathing criticism caused comic book sales to plummet. Grisly horror and crime comics like Tales from the Crypt and Vault of Horror were left crippled. The entire incident culminated in a Comics Code Authority that oversaw comic book content, and as a result, comic books for the next decade were largely sanitized.

Visit http://www.classic-comic-books.com

--
Demon Tweak is a rock n' roll anthem mixing everything from Easy Rider to Tall Tales about Hard Driving Heroes.
But comics retained their youthful streak in the 1960’s. During this time of increased counter-culture, Marvel Comics rose to go head-to-head DC’s traditional line-up, emphasizing heroes like Spider-Man and the X-Men, who appealed to young teenage readers as opposed to ideal citizens like Bruce Wayne and Clark Kent. Many experts believed the Silver Age kicked off with the publication of Fantastic Four in 1961 by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby.

Spider-Man creator Stan Lee did run inadvertently into a stand-off with the Code in 1971, when the Department of Health, Education and Welfare wanted the webslinger to tackle drug use. The Code objected to even an anti-drug issue, but Lee, backed by Marvel publisher Martin Goodman, ran the issue without the Comic Code, whose authority was more or less broken, and continued to diminish in the decades to follow

DC wouldn’t stay out of this naturalistic approach to superheroes for long. Though Marvel made its everymen a virtual trademark for years to come, DC would also release “Hard-Travelling Heroes”, a socially conscious run on Green Arrow/Green Lantern which found the two mystery men fighting racism, corruption and even the drug addiction of Green Arrow’s sidekick, Roy Harper during the early seventies. Leaving Marvel, “Fantastic Four” creator Jack Kirby would also create the compelling space fantasy “The Fourth World” for DC, whose titles laid a similar foundation to “Star Wars”. In addition, DC would also pitch many of their once-campy sidekicks into serious superheroes with “Teen Titans”, which competed directly with Marvel’s juggernaut X-Men in the 1980’s.

Just as there is some disagreement about when the Silver Age began, there is also contention over when it ended. Some argue for a Bronze Age of Comics for the 1970’s and 80’s, while others recognize the Silver Age as still in effect during this period. One thing is for sure though – the start date for the Modern Age, whether proceeded by Bronze or Silver, was thoroughly cemented as 1986 – a year that would revolutionize comic books forever.

Visit http://www.classic-comic-books.com

--
Demon Tweak is a rock n' roll anthem mixing everything from Easy Rider to Tall Tales about Hard Driving Heroes.
Why You Should Spend the Extra Money on Synthetic Oil?

The import tuner scene is the hottest trend on the streets today. These guys know what they want from their cars and are not afraid to spend the money to get it. Like the muscle cars of the ‘60s and ‘70s, the tuners’ roots hail from the hot rods of the prohibition era, where moonshiners first modified their cars in hopes of outrunning the police. Even back then, the original “street racers” knew how important it was to keep their engines well lubed.

Technology has come a long way since the days of moonshiners. Cars now have very tight tolerances and produce much more horsepower. The oil has improved quite a bit, too. The latest in lubrication technology is synthetic oil. Synthetic oils are designed to perform under high stress, high heat, and close-tolerance applications. If you tried using the same oil that was used by the moonshiners’ hot rods, your car would perform below expectations. Why use old technology oil for high-technology cars? I can’t think of a reason, considering all of the benefits of using a synthetic.

A tuner’s engine is designed to run at high rpm’s and provide maximum power with small displacement. Synthetic oil is designed to achieve maximum protection under all operating conditions. The appearance and dominance of the tuner in today’s street scene is only a hint of where the sport is heading. The days of bigger engines and more fuel are fading away, and we are venturing into an era where the fuel economy of a vehicle is just as important as the power it produces. Is this coming together for you? Are you seeing a point to this yet? Just like leaded gasoline, conventional oils are fading away, too. Conventional oils do a good job of lubricating your engine, but unlike a synthetic, they do not perform the same under extremes. Conventional oil thins as it gets hot, thickens as it cools, and boils off creating sludge and oil loss, and it doesn’t protect as long as a synthetic would.

A tuner enthusiast knows how precise his engine has to be to perform at its best. He knows that he gets better power at higher rpm’s. He knows that if he wants his engine, the heart of his machine, to last, it needs the best protection available. Synthetic is the only logical choice in a machine like this. A synthetic may cost more than your conventional oil, but in that cost is a savings as well. While a synthetic might cost twice as much as a conventional, it also protects longer, better, and improves fuel economy as well.

I know what you are thinking, a “tuner” represents a small portion of the market, and most of these guys probably do their own work. That doesn’t matter; the tuners use the same types of engines as normal cars. They might have some modifications, and they are put under extra stress, but they are essentially the same compact cars that the rest of America drives daily. Why would an oil that has so many great benefits for a tuner not be helpful to the average car? That’s like saying the vitamins that top athletes take would have no benefit for you. Great oil is great oil, no matter what the application is. If a synthetic will help a tuner get better gas mileage, better oil life, and increased engine longevity, the benefits would be even greater for the car that isn’t exposed to the demands that a tuner is expected to meet. Making a presence in the tuner market can only have positive outcomes. All great performance advancements in the automotive industry were discovered and perfected on the racetrack, and then they migrated to the street. Synthetic lubricants have proven themselves to perform for the cars that demand the best. Performance on the track equals performance on the street.

Visit http://www.synthetic-motor-oils.com

--
Author Vincent Platania represents the Amsoil.
Source of the World's Best Synthetic Lubricants - Motor Oil and Filters
Visit http://www.synthetic-motor-oils.com

Source: http://www.articletrader.com

Preparing Your Car For Winter Driving

Maintaining your car is important, no matter what time of year it is. Many people do not realize how much stress that the cold winter weather can put on your car’s drivetrain. There are three main areas cold weather affects your vehicle. Your lubrication system, battery, and cooling system are the areas most affected. In order to prepare for the cold winter, be sure and check these areas and make sure you aren’t going to be stranded in a snowstorm on the side of the road.

Battery
Yes, your battery. Your battery operates at its best right above room temperature. As winter creeps in, the performance of your battery decreases, up to 90% in the worst weather. You want to test your battery and make sure it still has most of its rated cranking power. The older a battery gets, the less capacity it has to build up and sustain a charge, and the cold weather does not help.

Motor Oil
Checking your motor oil should be part of your gas fill-up. You should also regularly change your oil. Oil’s only purpose in your engine is to lubricate and cool moving parts, minimizing wear and tear. In cold weather, oil can get thick, so thick that it doesn’t circulate properly. This poor circulation can lead to added stress and damage for the internal parts of your engine, a reduction in power, and reduced gas mileage. Consider those factors when choosing which motor oil is best for you.

In extremely cold weather, the performance needed from your lubricant is only offered with synthetic oil. Synthetic oil offers protection from the dangers of the cold because it retains its ability to flow at temperatures as low as -70 degrees. The benefits are seen in the summertime as well, since it retains its viscosity in higher temperatures. In cold weather, your battery is already performing below capacity. Your thick oil working against the weak battery is an invitation for disaster.

Cooling System
Every driver should know what an important role their vehicle’s cooling system plays. Comprised of the radiator, thermostat, pump, the car’s heater, and a bunch of hoses, it keeps your car running at normal operating temperatures. Most people think that the cooling system’s only job is to keep the car from overheating. Not true. The cooling system also has the responsibility of getting the engine to normal operating temperatures as quickly as possible.

The cooling system is comprised of mostly water; and in temperatures below 32 degrees Fahrenheit, water freezes. When water freezes, it expands, causing cracked hoses, damaged pumps, even cracking the engine block is possible. It isn’t hard to check how your antifreeze is performing. The tester doesn’t cost very much, and they are easy to use and read. If your cooling system’s freezing point isn’t lower than the expected temperatures for your area, it is recommended that you add quality antifreeze to your system. Quality is important, because antifreeze is also the lubricant of your cooling system. Low-quality antifreeze may protect against freezing, but it may not lube your cooling system’s parts, causing premature corrosion and failure.

Traditional antifreeze is an ethylene-glycol-based product. EG antifreeze has been growing less and less favorable, due to its potential environmental hazards, as well as it being deadly when pets or children drink the sweet liquid. Yes, ethylene glycol antifreeze has a sweet taste, not much different than your favorite powdered beverage, only adding to its dangers.

As a result, an antifreeze has been developed that uses propylene glycol. Propylene glycol is considered safe to the environment, as well as to animals and children in case of accidental ingestion. Propylene glycol also tastes foul, almost eliminating the chances of accidental ingestion. AMSOIL has a new propylene-glycol-based antifreeze that is compatible with both propylene and ethylene glycol, so a system flush is not required to use this safe product in your car, no matter what your current cooling system contains.

Preparing For Winter Conditions
Even if you have checked all of the above systems and made sure they are in the best possible shape with the highest quality of fluids and parts, situations still happen. It is always smart to be prepared for a winter emergency. Carry extra items that you might need to survive in case you get stranded in extreme weather. A blanket, extra food, and water can be a lifesaver if you get caught broke down in a storm. Even a shovel and sand can be useful if you need to dig yourself out of the snow or throw sand down to get traction on ice. Jumper cables might help you get a jump a lot faster if your temperature-beaten battery needs a boost. You also want to make sure you carry chains or use snow tires. By being properly prepared and following all of the above-mentioned guidelines, this winter season should be your safest and most enjoyable so far.

Visit http://www.synthetic-motor-oils.com

--
Author Vincent Platania represents the Amsoil.
Source of the World's Best Synthetic Lubricants - Motor Oil and Filters
Visit http://www.synthetic-motor-oils.com

Source: http://www.articletrader.com

Americans love their cars. The fascination with the automobile started with the very first models and continued to grow as people learned to modify their cars to increase performance. Style and performance is the main category on which cars are judged today, originating from the days of prohibition, where moonshiners would modify their cars to outrun the cops, to competing against each other later. Racing is part of America’s culture.

Today’s hot trend is the “import tuner.” The “tuner” is the modern-day version of the muscle car, except the muscle car was based on pure power. The import tuner car is a beautiful, fast car that is built to perform in a variety of ways. They handle great. They look great. They have awesome sound systems, fast, and expensive. Experts estimate that the average tuner car has about $15,000 worth of modifications invested into it. Not all of that money is sunk into the engine, like in the days of old, though. It is usually divided evenly between looks, sound, and performance. There is a lot of money invested in today’s performance vehicles, and lubrication is important to the life of those vehicles.

People normally assume that when they see a tuner, it is a regular car with a fancy paint job and loud stereo. That isn’t normally the case, actually. A study done by SEMA shows that the tuner crowd usually focuses on the performance of the vehicle before concentrating on the looks and sound. That means there are a lot of cars that look “normal” that are actually works in progress. This is just a hint of how important performance is to these people.

Like the Camaro and Mustang of the '60s, Honda and Nissan dominate the market today. That doesn’t mean that only Hondas or Nissans can be tuner cars. Other popular models include Chevrolet’s Cavalier, Mitsubishi’s Lancer, Mazda’s RX-7, and Toyota’s Supra. Actually, the list practically never ends. People will modify and race any car, and in the tuner world, any compact car can become a show-stopper.

When most people see a Honda, they think it is just your average, everyday car. An enthusiast sees that same car and understands the potential it has with aftermarket upgrades to style and performance. The aftermarket tuner industry is a multi-billion- dollar-a-year business. There are companies that make performance flywheels, turbo-chargers, exhaust systems, and cams, just to get an idea. Tuners know what performance they want from the components in their cars, and they aren’t scared to spend the money to obtain it.

This niche has exploded in recent years, and it shows no sign of stopping. These tuner vehicles need top performance from their lubricants. It is understandable to assume that these guys are probably do-it-yourselfers and change their oil on the weekend in the driveway, but that isn’t always the case. A lot of these guys actually don’t want to bother with the trouble of changing and then disposing of the oil. Making an effort to market to this crowd gives you an enormous opportunity to sell synthetic oils to them. These guys know what performance means to their car, and if you can teach them about the superior performance given by synthetic blends, it is a for-sure sale. Monthly, there are over 20,000 articles published about the steady and rapid increase in fuel costs. It has replaced “the weather” as a topic of conversation. What makes this topic more interesting is the variety of subjects that are also intertwined within. As prices may be rising in certain parts of the country, in others, they remain steady or may even drop a little. Next time you are in a discussion about this, you can throw in the fact that if you compared it to other things, it really isn’t expensive at all! You can also add that your fuel bill is even lower because of the benefits of synthetic lubricants that you use in your own vehicle. Less friction means better fuel economy, and studies have proven that a synthetic lubricant lubricates far better and lasts longer than its petroleum-based cousin.

Visit Every day on the nightly news, there is a story about the rising gas prices.
