The Police: Ticket nest
The Police are a three-piece rock band with strong reggae and ska music influences. In the early 1980s, they became one of the most popular groups in the world in the wake of the punk rock phenomenon prominence.

The police music group were considered to be more than a punk rock band. All three members of the band were technically proficient in their performances. Andy Summers used to create dense, interlocking waves of sounds and effects with his precise guitar performance. Stewart Copeland had command on playing polyrhythms. Sting ( http://www.ticketnest.com/concert-tickets/Sting/index.php ), was capable of constructing catchy pop songs with his high, keening voice. With their outstanding performancesthe the Police band certainly demonstrated that the punk spirit could have a future in pop music.

The Police grew considerably more adventurous as their career progressed. They experimented with jazz and various world musics. However, the band kept on increasing their fan base with their mastery of the pop single. Eventually, the band had become the most popular rock & roll band in the world by 1983. The members of the the police band were enjoying the peak of fame at this time. But the band could not stay united. The band broke away in 1984 due to internal tensions. Later, Sting the police was successful in picking up the majority of the band's audience and became an international superstar.

On February 11, 2007, the members of the band were able to reunite after 23 years apart. Their performance at the opening act of the 49th Annual Grammy Awards provide them the opportunity to reunite after such a long period of time. On the very next day of their performance, the band made an important announcement of the police tour in 2007 alongwith their performance at the Live Earth concert in July.

American-born drummer Stewart Copeland founded the band in early 1977. Copeland was anxious to form a new three-piece group and join the burgeoning London punk scene after the demise of his progressive rock band Curved Air. Singer-bassist Sting and guitarist Henry Padovani began rehearsing with Copeland in January 1977. In the following month, they were successful in recording the band?s debut single, "Fall Out"/"Nothing Achieving," The trio toured as a support act for Cherry Vanilla as well as Wayne County & the Electric Chairs in March and April.

The police band, along with The Clash, have the honor of being one f the first mainstream white bands to adopt reggae as a predominant musical form. With reggae-styled material, they were successful in scoring major international hits. Although ska and reggae were already very popular in the United Kingdom, the style was little known in the United States or other countries. Only a handful of reggae songs had enjoyed any significant chart success before the emergence of the Police.

A lucky accident made the bleached blonde hair the trademark of the band. The incident happened just before the release of the first album of the police. Desperate for money, the police band was asked to do a commercial for Wrigley's Spearmint chewing gum on the condition that they dye their hair blonde.

The police band has never announced their break-up officially. However, after the end of Synchronicity tour in March 1984, each band member pursued his own solo career. They reunited again to perform in three concerts for the Amnesty International A Conspiracy of Hope Tour in June 1986. A tense short-lived reunion in the studio produced only subdued re-recordings of "Don't Stand So Close to Me" and "De Do Do Do, De Da Da Da". At this time, Sting had clearly shown his intentions of creating his separate identity without the band.

Sting began working on a jazz-tinged solo project immediately, releasing The Dream of the Blue Turtles in 1985. The album of the police became an international hit and Sting became the superstar. Copeland and Summers demonstrated no inclination to follow their bandmate's path. Copeland recorded the world beat exploration The Rhythmatist in 1985. He also continued to compose scores for film and television. Later, he formed the prog rock band Animal Logic. He continued his art rock and jazz fusion experiments with his solo career.

The Police had been an international fame band. The band was greatly appreciated for their achievements. The police were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on March 10, 2003. As a group, they performed "Roxanne", "Message In a Bottle", and "Every Breath You Take" live tour.

The Police was ranked 70 by Rolling Stone Magazine on their list of the 100 Greatest Artists of All Time in 2004.

For more information about The Police visit: http://www.ticketnest.com/concert-tickets/The-Police/index.php

--
Sara grew up in Kansas and after moving to Carlsbad, CA, relates to Dorothy of the "Wizard of Oz" fame.
A formal democratic People’s Republic has set up a frame work for the politics of North Korea. It functions as a single-party state in practice. North Korea's political system is built upon the principle of centralization. While the constitution asserts human rights and democratic government, most power is within the hands of a ruling elite dominated by Kim Jong-il.

The government is highly controlling and has set severe limits for freedom of expression. Korean Workers' Party (KWP) is the ruling party which allows some slight inner-party democracy. The KWP has been ruling North Korea since its political beginnings in 1948. The Chondoist Chongu Party and the Social Democratic Party, two minor political parties, also have elected officials. Both these parties are legally bound to accept the ruling role of the KWP.

Kim Il-sung was the powerful ruler of North Korea whose reign started from 1948 until his death in July 1994. Kim has the honor of serving both as General Secretary of the KWP and as President of North Korea. He was given the posthumous title of Eternal President, symbolizing that he forever holds the position of President, which is formally vacant.

North Korea has been widely recognized as a Communist state in the Western world, but the government has formally replaced references to Marxism-Leninism in its constitution with the locally developed concept of Juche, or self-reliance.

Cabinet
Chairman of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly / de facto head of state - Kim Yong-nam
Premier - Pak Pong-ju
Foreign Minister - Paek Nam-sun
Vice Foreign Minister - Kim Kye Gwan
Vice Foreign Minister - Choe Su-hon
Minister of State Construction Control - Pae Tal-jun

President of the Central Bank of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea - Kim Wan Su
Minister of Public Security -
Deputy Director - Paek Hak-rim
Minister of People's Armed Forces - Kim Il Chol

Legislative branch
According to the constitution, the highest organ of state power is the legislative Supreme People's Assembly (SPA). It has 687 members, who are elected every five years. The Assembly usually holds only two meetings annually, each lasting a few days. A standing committee, known as the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly and elected by the Assembly, performs legislative functions when the Assembly is not in session. The Assembly officially chooses between, compromises upon, and ratifies the political positions on subjects put forward by the three represented parties. The president of the Supreme People's Assembly is Kim Yong Nam. SPA has been regarded as a rubberstamp body by almost all outside sources.
Elections in North Korea are non-competitive.

Legal system
Constitution of North Korea's fifth and current constitution was written in September 1998, replacing the one previously adopted in 1972. The former constitution had last been amended in 1992. Under the constitution, North Korea has an unusual legal system based upon German civil law and influenced by Japanese legal theory. Criminal penalties can be stiff, although one of the basic functions of the system is to uphold the power of the regime. North Korea is renowned for its poor human rights situation and regularly detains thousands of dissidents without trial or benefit of legal advice. The judicial system is theoretically held accountable to the Supreme People's Assembly.

Political developments
North Korean politics have been dominated by its foreign relations with South Korea for most of its history. During the Cold War, North Korea aligned with the Soviet Union and the People's Republic of China. The North Korean government invested heavily in its military. Actually, It had ambitions of developing the capability to reunify Korea by force if possible and also preparing to repel any attack by traditional enemies South Korea, Japan, or the United States.

There was shift in the policy of North Korea towards the end of the Cold War when their relations were loosened with the Soviet Union. North Korea developed an ideology, Juche, based upon a high degree of economic independence and the mobilization of all the resources of the nation to defend against foreign powers seen as a threat to the country's sovereignty.

North Korean efforts to improve relations with South Korea in order to increase trade and to receive development assistance have not achieved desired success. On the other hand, North Korea's determination to develop nuclear weapons and ballistic missiles has prevented relations with Japan or the United States from improving.

At present, there is no evidence of significant internal threats to the current government. However, widespread starvation, increased emigration through China, and new sources of information about the outside world for ordinary North Koreans are the important factors pointing to an imminent collapse of the regime, but North Korea has remained stable in spite of more than a decade of such predictions.

For more information about korea government visit: http://korea.ixs.net/general-info/korea-government/index.aspx

--
Heidi Grumm hosts http://events.ixs.net and expresses her passion for events through writing and discussion.
The traditional culture of Korea is historically shared by North Korea and South Korea Nevertheless, the current political separation of the north and the south of the peninsula results in some regional variance in the Korean culture. The different aspects of Korean culture, society, and customs can be observed by taking an in-depth look into Life in Korea.

Oriental Astrology : Oriental astrology assigns twelve animals according to the year of ones birth. It is opposite to Western astrology which goes by the month of ones birth. Koreans have firm belief that ones animal determines ones personality and fate. This religion was introduced to Korea by the travelers around the fourth century A.D. Since that time, Buddhism has greatly influenced Korean society, culture, and the arts.

Traditional Alcohol : Korea has created unique alcohols using rice malt.

Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) : The Demilitarized Zone (DMZ), the symbol of the ideological dispute between North and South Korea and poignant reminder of the Korean War (1950-53), winds 155 miles across the Korean Peninsula. It has roots in Buddhist and folk music. However, the style has changed through the years and evolved in different ways. Samulnori is the name of the traditional musical group. This group has great contributions in reviving interest in Korean traditional arts.

Traditional Patterns and Symbols : Korean people traditionally adapted to and found meaning in the order of nature. They have created beautiful and diverse patterns in order to teach the hidden meanings of nature to their children. They also want their children to believe nature as law and order in their daily lives. These patterns can be found in every aspect of Korean life, from the Taegeuk in the national flag to the animal designs on chopsticks in restaurants. Many symbols are similar to the Chinese characters for luck, fortune, longevity, and fertility.

Traditional Tools and Utensils : Many Korean traditional tools and utensils look very similar to those found in other agricultural societies: stone mills for grinding grains into powder, weaving looms for making clothes, and measuring tools for dispensing agricultural products. Korea also has many tools and utensils made from bamboo and straw.

Kimchi- Most people think Kimchi as Korea’s firey hot and red food .Kimchi has many nutrients.
Most of you must have heard about alternative medicine, ever wondered, what is alternative medicine? Well to define the term I would say that this is the phrase used to determine diverse methods of medicine besides the conventional ways. Alternative medicine comprises on a vast assortment of medical practices, these practices also includes European or Western practices plus also involve latest advances to medicine. In addition to alternative medicine the term of complementary medicine is also used. Complimentary medicine is actually a fusion of both conventional and alternative (http://www.nature-be.com/Alternative.php ) medicine.

With mounting research and inventions in medicine field the use of alternative medicine is accelerating worldwide and particularly in Western nations. Whereas Eastern part of the world is concerned, some variety of alternative medicine has been excited and practiced for many centuries. May be the reason of the popularity of this trend in West is because of the development of medical education among people plus the excessive amount of travel to various regions. Now there is far better literature available on this subject and medical societies specializing in different forms of alternative medicine are accessible.

These are some known forms of alternate medicine are:

1. Acupuncture.
2. Homeopathy.
3. Naturopathic medicine.
4. Osteopathy.

Acupuncture: is a primeval skill that had its roots in the Orient. This treatment includes manipulating and injecting needles into particular spots in the body. It is supposed that by doing this health and create well-being is restored. Different forms of acupuncture are taught globally. There are several forms of acupuncture which are taught worldwide. Acupuncture is the most popular type of alternative medicine.

Homeopathy: in this method the immune system of body is stimulated to support the healing system. This practice accomplishes the equilibrium or homeostasis of the whole body.

Naturopathic medicine: this is a unique practice that stimulates the body's own healing system. This treatment includes numerous forms of alternative medicine. This form of medication can be called natural therapy plus can include dietary supplements, exercise and different foods.

Osteopathy: this was initially a method based on the manipulation of the joints. Even today it is used for chronic back pain. Normally this method is used along with other forms of alternative medicine.

My suggestion is that for the treatment of serious illness and acute diseases it is essential to consult your physician before making any decisions. Your physician may use some type of alternative medicine united with conventional medicine, particularly when just the conventional medicine is not showing very effective results for a chronic condition. Regardless of the lack of credibility agreed about it by MD.s, some alternative medicine can work wonders. But of course it will all depend on your particular sickness plus your own body's functionality that alternative medicine can function well for you.

For more information about Alternative Medicine visit: http://www.nature-be.com/alternative-medicine.php

--
Jacques Bayle hails from Alsace, and belongs to a family of natural healers.
Dunkin Donuts Arena: IXS

The Dunkin' Donuts Center is an indoor arena located in Providence, Rhode Island, USA.It was built in 1972. The Arena actually built as a place for the emerging Providence College men's basketball program and the high demand for tickets to their games in Alumni Hall, as well as for the then-Providence Reds, who played in the nearly fifty-year old Rhode Island Auditorium. Initially, it was known as the Providence Civic Center. Later on, a naming rights deal was reached with Dunkin' Donuts in June 2001. The Providence Bruins of the American Hockey League and the Providence College Friars men's basketball team are the current tenants of this wonderful arena.

The Dunkin Donuts Center has become a very important sports place in the USA.It has been the site of many collegiate tournaments, including the inaugural 1980 Big East Conference men's basketball tournament; several ECAC basketball tournaments; NCAA basketball tournament first- and second-round games in 1976, 1979, 1980, 1981, 1989, and 1996; the 1978 and 1985 basketball regionals; the inaugural 1985 Hockey East Tournament (won by the home team); and the 1995 and 2000 NCAA Frozen Four ice hockey championships.
The University of Rhode Island has also played home basketball games at Dunkin' Donuts Center. On some special occasions, the PC women's basketball team has played "home" games in the arena, most notably for games against URI or UConn, where demand for tickets would be enough to warrant an arena larger than the 2,620-seat Alumni Hall.

The Dunkin’ Donuts Center attracts a vast audience of patrons from all over Southeastern New England. The Arena partners with a wide variety of companies and organizations seeking to interact with audiences.

The New England Steamrollers of the Arena Football League called the arena home in 1988. The Providence Reds hockey team played there for five years starting in 1972. The venue has long been a regular stop on WWE tours. It was the site of WWF King of the Ring tournaments five times and hosted the 1994 Royal Rumble. In 1999 the Dunkin' Donuts Center was home to the WWE Backlash Pay-Per-View event. In 2005 this venue hosted WWE Armageddon on December 18, 2005 presented by SmackDown! and Xbox 360. A number of other professional sporting events (such as the Harlem Globetrotters), as well as rock, pop, and opera concerts have occurred there as well.

The Rhode Island Convention Center Authority purchased the building from the City of Providence for dollar28.5 million in December of 2005,. A major reconstruction is underway which will also include an expansion of the arena seating capacity. The Authority will spend dollar62 million on the renovation of the "Dunk" to transform the facility into a state-of-the-art arena. Two major elements of the construction include an expanded lobby and an enclosed pedestrian bridge between the Convention Center and the Dunkin’ Donuts Center.

For more information about Dunkin Donuts Arena visit: http://venues.ixs.net/venues/Dunkin-Donuts-Arena/index.aspx

--
Heidi Grumm hosts http://events.ixs.net and expresses her passion for events through writing and discussion.
