Unless you have never been to a doctor, you probably already know about the score of 200. We want to hear that our cholesterol is lower than that. That is normal and we understand it. Over 200 is a whole different story.

Let's start with the basics. There are two kinds of cholesterol in every human. The good or HDL cholesterol and the bad or the LDL cholesterol can both be measured by very basic blood test. The averages of these findings are used for your final score. And basically, they are what makes the doctor give you either the good job pat on the back or the stern talking to about how important your health should be taken.

Okay, so here comes the basic math part, be prepared. Total Cholesterol Number (TCN) = Bad Cholesterol (LDL) + Good Cholesterol (HDL) + VLDL. Now isn't that a very simple formula?

Total cholesterol is calculated using this formulas: HDL +LDL+VLDL=Total Cholesterol.

Now you may be asking what is this VLDL number that is in the formula. VLDL is the doctor's abbreviation for the Triglyceride level in your blood. A triglyceride is a fatty acid or fat cell that is in your blood stream. VLDL is the triglyceride level in the bloodstream divided by five. Therefore, you total cholesterol number is the Good Cholesterol number + the Bad Cholesterol Number + the triglyceride level/5.

As you can see, calculating your actual total cholesterol number is not complicated or anything like math used in rocket science or astrophysics. Again, if the total cholesterol number is under 200 then great; if it's over 200, better start following your doctor's advice.

The good news is that while it is hard to detect, high cholesterol is not impossible to find. Severe high cholesterol levels can cause xanthomas, which is when the tendons and joints become bogged down with excessive fat deposits. Other serious symptoms can be enlargement of the spleen and liver.

To discover if the spleen and/or live has become engorged, a doctor usually just has to press down on the region of those organs. This makes the detection of the enlargement very easy. Pancreatitis, which causes horrible pain in your abdomen, can be yet another symptom of extremely high cholesterol levels.

Since it is not very simple to discover the actual symptoms of high cholesterol, it is often left undetected until it has cause a more dangerous physical condition. High blood pressure, diseases of the veins and arteries and heart disease are some extremely serious, life-threatening problems that can arise from unchecked raised cholesterol levels.

High cholesterol can lead to plaque being deposited in the arteries. This can cause blockage of the Coronary artery. This blockage can lead to a decreased supply of oxygen to the heart that can lead to coronary failue or heart attack.

At times, although it is rare, people suffering from lipid disorders may show symptoms of high blood pressure. For those with a family history of these disorders in addition to high blood pressure there may be cholesterol deposits which are abnormal which collect in the skin surrounding the eyes and the eyelid tissues.

Additionally, the deposits of cholesterol can form small lumps that appear to be almost boil-like on the feet and hands. Furthermore, this strange formation of cholesterol build up can give the feet, legs and hands a yellow color that also appears to be in streaks.

Exercise - Might as well get it out of the way. Nothing is more effective at raising good cholesterol levels like jogging or a long walk in the park. The intensity of the exercise is not nearly as important as the duration. 20 - 30 minutes required, just get off the couch and keep moving.

Lose Weight - Nothing is worse than that extra tire you might be carrying around with you; fat actually lowers HDL and increases the cholesterol we don't want. Literally, the worst of both worlds. Need help losing to weight? Please, see Number 1.

Throw out the cigarettes. No excuses this time, just be done. Studies have shown that people who quit smoking show elevation in their healthy cholesterol levels practically immediately.

Here is the hard one for me. Stop eating all of the fried, fatty foods. If you can stop eating them completely, that is this the best. However, even a slight decrease in you consumption of them will help. Start replacing them with as many fresh fruits and vegetables as possible.

Alcohol - Drink Some! Not a lot, mind you. But many studies show that one or two alcoholic drinks per day do help to raise good cholesterol. Drinking too much leads to its own problems; so just enough for medicinal purposes please.

There are many different ways to promote HDL growth and raise good cholesterol; you know most of them already. Just take care of yourself, and be conscious about what you put into your body.

There are several ways to keep your expenditures low. No matter how many pennies you pinch or corners you cut, though, be prepared to spend a hefty sum. By setting aside some extra time before actual building begins to wisely plan everything out, you will save a bundle.

So, you may be planning to start that new garage in September. If that is your goal, then start shopping in April. The earlier you do your beginning shopping the better decisions you will make. Being sure that you have enough time to look into all options concerning supplies, will be a great money saver.

Consider using utility grade materials for the garage. In particular studs will save you money here. Lumber yards often reduce the price on studs that may not be the prettiest in the yard. Plywood is often available with blows (areas where the ply may not have been completely glued together) which costs much less. When nailed into place, the plywood becomes just as strong as the more expensive plywood. Studs will be covered, so who cares if they are not pretty.

Lastly use the time you have to shop around. Sometimes you will find temporary shortages in your area cause a substantial price increase. You have the advantage of time, wait and see if prices drop. See if the big box home improvement centers are being competitive in price with the local lumber yards. Ask about price matching. See if a local store will give you a price break if you buy everything you need from that store to build the garage.

Preparation and little leg work can help you save hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars on garage construction costs; therefore, don't wait until the last minute. Start clearing out a space for your stockpile now.

As soon as you awake if you have those dreams in your mind still grab the paper and write it out. This will allow your mind to still have the dream fresh and hopefully you will be able to be very detailed in the comments that you put down about the dream.

Many dreams have some things in common, or many people dream about certain subjects a lot. In that case these dreams and the theme are known more as a common dream. Subjects that fall under this category are dreams that involve flying, being naked, falling and teeth.

While these dreams are very interesting it will be another theme that we will look at today. Something that may affect many people, possibly you even. Maybe you dream about death a lot, and wonder why you keep dreaming that a loved one has died.

It's said that this shows you may lack a quality that the loved one has. One that you don't think you can live without and one that you want to have.

But if it's your own death that is in your dreams, you may feel more spiritual. A part of transitioning has happened in your life. Making you more relaxed.

Some people may never really remember a dream, or not very often. Or you remember little parts of a dream and it seems like the wildest thing you could ever have imagined.

As a writer I get many ideas from those dreams that I remember, in fact I love having those fantastic and weird dreams. All the better to create a horror novel with!

But just because you dream of something bad, it doesn't mean you are going to awake and do it. It's hard to say what people dream of, we are not the same, and so all dreams are different. But with dream interpretation they like to put everyone into one way of thought.

How can that work though? Since each person has different ways that they have been raised, and different sets of priorities. Not only that but not everyone has the same desires, so dreams will be different. A poor person may constantly dream of wealth, just because they want money, it's a desire.

Speaking of desires, Sigmund Freud probably had the most interesting dream interpretations. He felt that ever dream a person had been based on a repressed feeling of some sort of sexual thought. But it is also well known that Freud loved to use Cocaine, now could that have made his thoughts always be focused on sex? Perhaps, but let's not take anything away from a very brilliant man, and perhaps the Father of Modern Psychology.

However, if you look back in history the thoughts of what dreams mean have changed. As society changes and technology advances people dream about different things.

In fact I would hate to think that everyone is the same. It's not the case, and although finding out what a dream might have meant is a lot of fun, it's not the end of the world if you have done something bad in a dream.

So instead of worrying that you dreamt of killing your husband last night, enjoy the fact that in your dream you got rid of some of your aggression. Enjoy life and remember that dreams are just that dreams. They may mean something, but it's really hard to classify everyone's dreams into one meaning.

If you were born under the Ox symbol, then you are stable and fortunate. You may also be preserving. Typically, the Ox is a person that comes from a strong character and is tolerant. When decided upon how to accomplish a goal, they do not have any fears.

Believe it or not, the humans that are Ox (Zodiac) are known for being strong. The truth is, they do not let anyone get in their way. In fact, when they make up their mind and have their mind set on something, it is rare that they will change it. If you try to change their mind, then we wish you luck.
