Compiling accurate statistics on the most commonly cited causes of the breakdown of a marriage is virtually impossible - these are the top ten reasons for divorce cited by DivorceGuide.com:

1. Infidelity
It could be argued that infidelity within marriages is a reaction by a spouse to the real breakdown of the marriage, and is not itself the cause. Either way, it is cited as the cause of almost one third of divorces ins the USA (making it the most common reason for divorce). Surveys have shown that adultery occurs in over half of failed marriages. Spouses may be unfaithful consistently during an affair, intermittently, or just once in a one night stand. Common explanations for unfaithfulness include resentment or anger (with the other spouse) and sexual boredom.

2. Communication breakdown
Commonly, couples become unable to communicate in a normal, meaningful fashion. Either spouse's inability to avoid exchanges which invariably result in conflict is representative of a communication breakdown in the marriage. In extreme cases (especially if accompanied by abusive tendencies), a growing inability to deal with any verbal exchanges without conflict could be indicative of a much more serious problem that requires the attention of a mental health professional. More often, however, growing differences between the spouses which may have their roots in other mentioned causes are to blame for communication breakdowns.

3. Physical, psychological, or emotional abuse
Where either spouse is frequently abusive towards children or each other, the other spouse has clear grounds for divorce. Physical abuse includes all types violence (fighting, manhandling, and physical bullying of an individual). Emotional or Psychological and abuse can be as seemingly innocuous as verbal insults, and can range to taunting, humiliation, intimidation, and consistent negative reinforcement.

4. Financial issues
One of the most common reasons for divorce is economic strain or collapse of the family. Every couple has to deal with money at some stage, and when there is not enough to go around, differences in temperament and priorities are brought to a head. Even if there is no debt incurred, disagreements over the allocation of money often be enough to end an already irritated relationship.

5. Boredom
Biologically speaking, humans' preference is to pair for about seven years before changing mates. While well matched couples will, naturally, stay together for much longer than this, and possibly for life, most do not. Some couples will eventually grow distant, disinterested, and eventually bored with each other. Such divorces are often the least bitter of all, and often end amiably enough.

To find out what the other top reasons for divorce are, visit the Divorce Guide

--
Alison is a legal specialist and writer for http://www.divorceguide.com and
http://www.troubledteensinfo.com

Source: http://www.articletrader.com

If you became aware that your child has a MySpace account without your permission there are some steps to take on what to do about it. MySpace.com suggests that you talk to your child to cancel the account if you want the account to be deleted. To do this, try logging on to the site and click on Account settings. Then, select Cancel Account. MySpace will send you an email to the user’s email address to confirm the removal of the account.

If by chance that you did not receive any confirmation email from MySpace.com, it is recommended that you delete all information or content of your child’s profile and then select Remove Profile in the About Me section. This action signals MySpace.com that you have already taking control of your child’s account.

Even though children and teens under 14 are not allowed to join and set up profile pages, it must be always remembered by teens and adults who are 14 and older that they can have fun and enjoy exciting experience assuming that they follow the correct safety precautions. Many parents has opted to monitor their children’s profile pages by creating their own profile pages and monitor in this way rather than removing their child’s account from the site. This action usually works than having them delete their profile pages or getting from them their username and password for two significant reasons. First thing, even if you have removed your child’s account they could still easily sign up for another account. Another thing, if you insist on getting their username and password they could easily change it. While creating your own profile page it allows you to view your child’s approved friends and what they are posting on their profile page.

Lastly, remember to explain to them the safety guidelines to help your child understand how they can stay away from any potential dangers. The guidelines include:

•	Tell and always remind your children not to lie about their age. Take safety precautions such as automatically set the profile private to keep kids safe from any potential dangers.
•	Explain to your children the fact that Myspace.com is public and can be viewed by just anyone and with such they should not be posting private and confidential information like their full name, address and phone number that would make it easier for people to locate them.
•	Remind your children not to post anything that they would feel embarrassed by it in the future.
•	One last thing, always remind them not to trust and believe everything they read because everyone is not who they say they are. Children must be cautious on adding friend requests from strangers and most importantly meeting people in person they meet online.

The time you spent to work and discuss with your children about safety precautions, parents can say that their children will avoid and be protected while still having fun and enjoying social and even educational experience that is available online.

--
"John McCann is the Editor for ProfilePitstop.com – the best Myspace Resource Site on the Web.
It is really important to know that it is not necessary to lie about your age just to make your MySpace profile private. Please be aware that lying about the age is against MySpace rules and it means your account is subject to deletion. If you want to have your profile private there are other procedures to do so.

Be aware that others users can still view your basic profile page which means that some information such as gender, age and location will still be available to anyone even if your profile is set to private. But your full profile page containing your more detailed information will only be viewed by the ones you approved as a friend.

To make the full profile page visible to your MySpace friends only, you need to login to your account and select and click on Account Settings. Once you have clicked on Privacy Settings, you now have a number of choices on who you want to see your profile.

For example, you can choose the following:

My Friends Only
Public
Only Users over 18
You may also try other privacy settings like for example, you can have friend request that require either last name or email. Or you can try hiding online from your profile page and maybe choose whether your birthday will shown or not to your friends. For the last option always keep in mind that you can’t change the fact that your age will be shown to all other users from your basic profile page. Keep in mind that with just this bit of information like your name and date of birth anyone could play or put you in danger because this can be used to have your identity be stolen.

There are other privacy selections from the Privacy Settings that includes only your friends can view your blog comments or to choose that no friend requests from bands. Another way is to block the users who are below 18 from communicating with you.

Although you can fully make your profile private, as we discussed earlier, the best way to protect yourself is to always keep in mind the basic safety tips about posting such confidential information on your page. Always remember to make your blog comments private along with your private profile to exercise caution about what you post. Do not write anything that you wouldn’t like other to know like your personal information and make it easier for them to locate you. Lastly, do not post anything that might haunt or embarrass you in the future.

--
"John McCann is the Editor for ProfilePitstop.com – the best Myspace Resource Site on the Web.
It has a list of MySpace members with a link to their page and a link to add them as friends. You may also click the “Add All” at the bottom of the train page and it will add all people at once. This is definitely the fastest way to add many friends to your account.
Whoring…This sounds weird but hard to forget once you’ve heard it! This term is very famous in the MySpace communities. Whoring is a MySpace tool used by many MySpace members and marketers. What they do is that people will agree that they will post each other’s profiles in the bulletin in a certain niche. In this way, it will be seen by all their friends. And when they see good comments on a profile, there will be an “Add Friend” button in the message to give the user a choice to add them to their friend’s list.

Example:

Member A sends out a bulletin message to all his friends saying that Member B is a cool guy and should be added.

Then Member B does the same thing on their bulletin as agreed and then both members will increase their list.

This is a very good way to gain extra friends fast.
Using MySpace groups is another great way to get a targeted people or to know what is popular or what does people need. An important use of the Web or Internet today is that it gives us an up to date data and information on everything, with only click of a button. We can track new products, trends, news or even just a ‘buzz’ right after they appear and with accuracy. With the Internet, anything that is added to it will be accessed 24/24 for a long time.

The best thing about marketing on MySpace is that one do not have to go out and look for niches to target because MySpace has already categories made out for you.

Let’s say a group of 600 people loves vintage fashion and have already created their own MySpace group. Keep in mind that these groups are growing each day since new members joining in. Thus even the small niche groups are worth eyeing on because it might turn out to be the next big thing and is growing exponentially. If you can get into these groups before the hype, you might be a winner.

As this is taking place more often, MySpace member and some groups have realized to forbid ads or links to be placed or dropped in their forums. But never worry; there are still a lot where you can advertise. Just take time to read the rules and regulations before making any posts on the forums.

A best move would be to start your own group. Why is that? This is because if you are the group moderator you will be the ones making the rules. Another reason on becoming a moderator is that other members greatly value your advice, thinking that you are the expert and thus eliminates your possible competitors.

--
"John McCann is the Editor for ProfilePitstop.com – the best Myspace Resource Site on the Web.
Blocking a certain individual can be done by visiting that person’s profile and clicking on Block User, which link can be found beneath the Send Message link. Once done, the now blocked user can no longer communicate with you. The most important thing is that one should be aware that the blocked user can still be able to view your profile but cannot be able to contact you any further.

If you choose that you do not want other MySpace users to view you profile you must set it to private. To do this, click on Account Settings and then click on Privacy Settings to make your profile private which can only be viewed by those people who you have approved to be friends with. In this way it prevents strangers as well as blocked users from seeing your page. Please be aware that when your profile is set to private some of your basic information, which includes gender, location and age, can still be seen by other users.

If you want to further protect oneself from any harassment or potential dangers you might get from MySpace, make sure that you follow the safety guidelines listed below.

To begin with, one must always keep in mind that even though you can block users and set your profile to private, MySpace.com is always going to be public. Hence, one must always make sure not to post any information on their page that would make it easier for strangers to contact and locate you.

One must be exercise to be cautious in adding just about every stranger to your friends list because not everyone is honest on whom they really are. They could pretend and lie about their age, gender and also interests. Although one can find it fun to meet and talk with new friends from all over the world, still it is very important to be very cautious about meeting anyone online.

MySpace.com does not support and do not promote harassment and any other inappropriate acts and contents. But because the site is so large it might be difficult for them to police every activity done by its users. But if you know and feel that a user’s acts are not appropriate, please do not falter, report it to MySpace.com right immediately.

Be careful in putting photos and content on your page that can be potentially used against you or embarrass you in the future. There is a trend today that colleges, universities and employers as well to browse sites like MySpace.com as a method of checking on their probable students, applicants and employees.

Lastly, although Myspace.com can be exciting and entertaining for teens and even to adults, always remember that one must follow its rules and do not lie to anyone that you are this old or young even if you are not. By just being honest and following the MySpace.com rules, one can prevent many possible problems and dangers.

--
John McCann is the Editor for ProfilePitstop.com – the best Myspace Resource Site on the Web.
The first step you will do if you are interested is to login to your profile and click on the link that says Music that is located right between Classifieds and Videos near the top of the page. It will then open to Myspace Music page and gives you the chance to browse or find some of your favorite and cool music. There is a search option here that will let you search by band name, band members, as well as by musical influences or even based on ‘sounds like’. You can also do specific searches according to your type of music or just simply look for bands from a specific geographical region or area.

Once you found the music you like just click on that group’s page. You will then see a list of songs. You can view the lyrics or listen to the songs and you can also rate the songs. When you have decided what song to add you will need to click the Add button that will be located next to the song you have chosen. There will be a confirmation box that will pop up asking if you really want to add the song to your page. Just click on Add Song to Profile and the song will be added. That will now play as background music on your page.

Aside from adding music directly from Myspace, there are also other options in doing it. A better way is to add an MP3 player from profilepitstop.com – Where you can choose your own MP3 player graphics, add your favorite tunes and create your play list. If you wish to add a song from your hard drive, you can do so but, you need to upload it first to the web. The MP3 file must be on the web for you to use it on your Myspace profile page or else it will only be available to you if it’s only in your hard drive. You can upload it to your personal website but if you don’t have there are some for free like GeoCities or many other sites. Once you have uploaded the MP3 file just take note of the URL or web address of the file.

After choosing your preferred player you can also change its color that will best match your profile page. Next is to create a play list after you have made the color selection.

To create a play list, simply get the web address of the MP3 files that you want to include. Either the one you have uploaded onto your personal webpages or from other pages. Here’s an example of the web address: http://www.domainname.com/foldername/songtitle.mp3

After knowing the locations of the song just simply copy the web address (CTRL+C) and paste it into one of the MP3 field provided. Then write the title of the song in the title box and click Add to Playlist.

Most likely you will need to right click on the MP3 files and go to properties to get the URL. Note that the correct and working URL must begin with http: and must end with .mp3. Once you are done clicking on Add to Playlist button just click on Go to Next Step. It will then generate the code and just simply copy the code. Next open your MySpace profile page and click on Edit profile then paste the code that you have copied wherever you want the player to appear on your page.

--
John McCann is the Editor for ProfilePitstop.com – the best Myspace Resource Site on the Web.
Are you new to MySpace or having problems getting started? Don’t know what HTML is or couldn’t be bothered learning? Perhaps you’ve made a start but your profile looks like a bomb has hit it? Keep reading - there’s a good chance that you fit into one of these categories:

The Complete MySpace Tard – This person have no idea about how to edit the layout or what HTML is. Someone else opened the browser for you so you could “get onto the internet thingy”. You stumbled through the account creation process and experienced a misplaced sense of accomplishment and satisfaction when you uploaded a photo of yourself to your profile.

The MySpace Novice - You’ve already set up an account and spent a few hours drafting information about you that only registered sex offenders are going to read. You have managed to get a few pictures of yourself online. You have updated your profile layout and posted your “emo” suicide note for all your new ‘friends’ to read.

The Color-blind who have learnt HTML- You know a little bit about HTML. You have struggled through the horrifying MySpace control panel to do everything listed above. You have created your own layout but for some reason you’ve chosen eye searing colors and a blinking tiled background which means you have to highlight everything in order to read it.

If this sounds familiar then YOU NEED HELP (or shall I say a little guidance). Follow these simple steps to ensure that your MySpace Profile isn’t as embarrassing as your first sexual encounter.

1.	Find a good Free Myspace Layout.
The good news is 90% of all MySpace Profiles look awful so you can easily stand out in the crowd.
Firstly, the content on your page shouldn’t take a backseat to the layout, especially if you want people to be able to read all the stuff that absolutely nobody gives a shit about. You want your friends to be able see the last book you read – you don’t want to give them retinal cancer with your flashing purple background. Luckily it is easy to find a nice looking layout - On Profilepitstop.com Free MySpace Layouts, you can even add the code straight to your page so even special people should be able to do it. Find a Profile that you like, enter your login details and hit upload. Easy.

2.	Create some nice looking text to welcome your visitors.
Nothing says “Hello, look at me I exist” better then some flashy text. With Profilepitstop.com Glitter Text Generator, you can create some unique text to welcome people to your page. Try and use colors that work with your layout and think of something interesting to write. If you can’t think of anything, try spelling your own name. Grab the code, add it the top of the About Me Section and click on update all settings.

3.	Add something funny so people know how funny you are.
A step in creating your profile which is completely optional, but it’s a lot of fun. Use Profilepitstop.com Flashpix Generator to make your own text pictures that you can easily add to your profile. There are a few different options to choose from: tattoo your name on a stomach, create your own fortune cookies or put your favorite poo joke on a Mug of Tea. Copy the Code, put it wherever you want to appear on your profile and you’re done.

4.	Make your own MP3 player.
Most Myspace profiles have auto-playing music that inevitably starts by surprise at maximum volume, and it’s usually music that you could dump into the “truck drivers in love” genre. The default Myspace player also stinks because you only get to put one track on it. Get your mp3 player from Profilepitstop.com MP3 Players. NOTE: If your taste in music stinks, you should probably skip this section.

There are few different choices - The Tape Player is a popular choice. Creating your own Mix Tape has never been easier. Simply use the search engine to find as many tracks as you like, add them to the list. Give your player a name and then you can add the code automatically to any section of your Myspace Profile. Very cool and it’s so simple your pet Labrador could do it.

5.	Time to show off.
Now that you’ve got your profile looking the goods, it’s time to impress your new friends. The best way to do this is grab some funny pictures and post them as comments on other profiles. It’s as simple as grabbing the code, clicking “add comment” and pasting it on your friend’s site. I’m not sure why people are hell bent on pasting funny pics but it seems to be the done thing.

Follow these 5 simple steps (in just under an hour) and your Trojan horse should be complete. You can now add and meet new friends from all over the world who will immediately think that you are much cooler than they are.

--
John McCann is the Editor for ProfilePitstop.com – the best Myspace Resource Site on the Web.

Feeling left out because you’re not quite sure what MySpace is or what all the hype is about? John McCann, from ProfilePitstop.com takes a look at Myspace Phenomena.

For those not tuned in, MySpace is a type of social networking website. It offers an interactive network with content that is submitted by users. The site provides a venue for friends to post personal profiles, photos, blogs, music and videos. There is also an internal e-mail system as well as search engine. While you might not be familiar with the site it is currently ranked by Alexa Internet as the fourth most popular English-language website in the world and the sixth most popular site in any language. In the U.S., Myspace ranks at the third most popular website. As such it has become increasingly popular in both online and pop culture.

Considering the wide success and popularity of the site one might think it had been in operation for a long period of time. Quite the contrary; however. MySpace was founded in July of 2003 by a UC Berkeley alumnus, Tom Anderson as well as a group of programmers. Currently, MySpace is partially owned by Intermix Media whose parent company, News Corporation, is also the parent company of Fox Broadcasting as well as numerous other media enterprises. MySpace is headquartered in Santa Monica, California although the parent company is located in New York City.

There are two standard blurbs that users can post on MySpace. These standard blurbs include Who I’d Like to Meet and About Me. There is also a Details section on profiles as well as an Interests section. Users can; however, choose whether they want to fill in these sections. Other information contained on profiles include a blog where users can post media, emotion and content. There is also the availability to upload images. Users can choose a default image, which is the image that will be seen on their profile’s main page. This default image will also appear next to their comments and messages.

MySpace is based on a friend’s network theory. A user’s current number of friends on the site will be displayed and there is an option link where one can view all of a user’s friends. Users can choose the number of Top Friends they want to be displayed. Up to 24 Top Friends can be displayed.

There is also a comments section where a user’s friend’s can display comments. These comments are available for all viewers to read; however, the user who created the profile can choose to delete or approve comments before they are posted if they wish. In the event a user’s account is deleted all comments on that profile page will be deleted as well.

One of the features that many users like about MySpace is the ability to modify their own pages. JavaScript is not currently allowed; however, modifications can be made using CSS and HTML/XHTML. Users can also embed music into their profiles as well as flash-based content and videos. If a user does not know HTML, third-party code sites have made it much easier to modify profile pages by generating code that can be easily copied and pasted to the profile page.

Users on MySpace also have the ability to send out bulletins to all their friends on their friends list. This is a very user friendly feature that allows one to quickly update everyone without the need to message each one individually. After ten days the bulletins are deleted. There is also a Groups feature that allows groups of users to share a common message board and page.

In early 2006 MySpace added the option that would allow users to access services provided by the site in different regional versions. Options available include Global, France, Australia, Ireland, Germany, UK, U.S. and Japan. At the current time all versions except Global and Australia are in beta.

While MySpace is extremely popular with teens and young adults there has been a tremendous amount of controversy and even criticism over the site. In the fall of 2006 an article appeared on the gossip blog, Valleywag, alleged in detail that MySpace had originally been designed to serve as a spam delivery system. The article went on to state that MySpace had been intended to exploit Friendster. Other allegations in the article included the claim that Tom Anderson’s status as founder of the site was only a public relations stunt and that in fact, Anderson had originally been hired as a copyeditor.

About the same time, Brad Greenspan (who had at one time served as CEO of Intermix Media, published a report claiming to be the true founder of MySpace and made requests for the SEC and U.S. Senate to look into the acquisition of MySpace by News Corp. According to Greenspan, MySpace should have been valued at $20 billion instead of the $327 million that News Corp. valued it at. Greenspan, who had been the largest individual shareholder of Intermix Media, claimed that Intermix shareholders had been defrauded through the deal made at the time of purchase. Eventually the lawsuit filed by Greenspan challenging the acquisition of MySpace was dismissed.

There have certainly been other issues regarding the site. Some journalists have speculated that the content posted by young users on MySpace could eventually affect their future college and job search efforts. It is quite possible for prospective employers to browse the site and search for candidates they might consider interviewing using information that is readily available on any resume or job application. This leads to the speculation that it might be entirely possible for an otherwise very highly qualified candidate to be overlooked for a job due to questionable content they might have posted on the site. It has also been suggested that current employees might also be putting their own jobs at risk by posting material on blogs that is critical of their employers.

High school and college students may also have cause to be concerned regarding the content they post on MySpace as well. In a largely increasing number it has been reported that more and more colleges are keeping an eye on both prospective enrollees as well as current students by browsing MySpace. High school students who have their hearts set on getting into a particular college may find their chances reduced if a college admissions officer were to review and find questionable content or admissions to questionable behavior on an applicant’s page, such as underage drinking. Likewise, current college students have begun to realize their participation in college activities could be restricted if sponsors happen to review the content posted on their sites and find it to be questionable.

There have also been numerous concerns regarding child safety issues on MySpace as well. Although the minimum age to register on MySpace is 14, it is certainly possible for a child younger than 14 to simply lie about their age and register an account anyway. Parents who discover their under-14 child has an account on MySpace can request the account to be removed. User’s who are under 16 will have their profile pages automatically set to private while users who are 16 and older can choose whether they want to restrict their profiles. Users are warned not to post any persona information on the site that could allow others to locate them and to be cautious regarding who they approve to be their friend on the site. MySpace has also taken steps to ensure the privacy and protection of minor users. One such step was enacted in June 2006 when MySpace entered a change so that users whose profile age is over 18 cannot add users to their friend list who are 14 and 15 unless they know that user’s full name as well as e-mail address. After highly publicized news reports of some teenagers being sexually assaulted by pedophiles they met on MySpace, the site announced they were taking new measures to protect their minor users through the implementation of tools that would prevent known pedophiles from the U.S. from creating profiles on MySpace.

Still, the controversies over MySpace have led many schools, libraries and other public places to restrict or ban usage of the site. This has not deterred many users; however, as literally dozens of proxy sites have popped up all over the Internet making it possible for users to surf MySpace on the proxy site without being detected by firewalls meant to keep them off the site.

Despite the controversy regarding the site there is no doubt that MySpace is continuing to grow in popularity. Reports indicate that the membership of the site has bloomed to approximately 40 million members. For today’s youth, sites like MySpace offer a unique forum for communication much like any other generation has seen. While most adults continue to use phone calls and face to face meetings as a way to stay in touch and interact socially teens and young adults are becoming far more ambidextrous in terms of socializing online and offline.

In a world that is practically bombarded with multi-media choices, teens and young adults appear to have no difficulty accessing and using multiple forms of media at the same time. A large majority of tunes are quite comfortable watching their favorite television programs while at the same time rocking to tunes on their iPods as well as surfing the Internet simultaneously. This generation appears to have taken multitasking to a whole new level.

--
Bio/Author Box: John McCann is the Editor of ProfilePitstop.com – the best Myspace Resource Site on the Web.
There is no denying that MySpace is a fantastic marketing tool. We have all heard the rags to riches stories of Arctic Monkeys or Sandi Thom who got launched to stardom via a growing network of Internet friends.

Although there is now a debate on whether Sandi Thom is a self-made internet superstar or simply the next in a long tradition of rock'n'roll swindles.

MySpace allows you to track trends, test and promote products at a click of your mouse. MySpace is a money making machine which belongs to Fox and, as its owner the media mogul Rupert Murdoch put it, it is "a place for datamining and research".

Q magazine made an interesting experiment by inventing a spoof indie band "with no talent whatsoever". In 4 weeks, the band had a devoted fanbase, to the extent that they got offered a gig by the guy who discovered Oasis and The Libertines.

MySpace is indeed one of the most effective ways to build hype, whether the act is actually good or disastrous! As the case of Paris Hilton demonstrates, you don't even need music to be a pop star, just the right publicity! So yes, MySpace is just another tool to manipulate the music listening public.

On the other hand, the fact is that even talented groups often need some way to grab an audience's initial interest. And eventually, artists built up only by hype will disappear.

Do you still hear of Vanilla Ice, once pushed up as the first great white rapper? Guess he wasn't! MySpace is still a wonderful way for unsigned small bands to expose their music and hopefully talent to an audience of millions. They can actually promote themselves to the mainstream without having to "sell out".

Use your common sense and don't always believe the hype, on MySpace or in the real world. It is sometimes useful to remember that all the data you put on your page can be used for market research. Basically, all they care about is the demographic you fall into and what trends they can find by comparing the millions of other people in the same demographic. It's pretty easy not to give up sensitive information.

If you put something on there specific enough to raise a red flag or attract the attention of the authorities, it's your own fault! It's really up to you to put how much or how little information as you want!

MySpace is a good way to keep in touch with friends at times when an actual visit or phone call isn't possible, exchanging pictures, letting them know how you're doing on a regular basis. It doesn't replace actual contacts but you can't phone all your friends all the time and MySpace makes it so easy to get news from friends by subscribing to their blogs or through bulletins. And reciprocally, you can use bulletins or blogs to share your moods and last news.

Then again, some kids out there obviously make a point of having as many friends as they can, which hopefully helps them to feel less insecure.

Social networking can turn out to be an infectious habit. Is the reason you have a personal MySpace page because everyone else has one? What's the point of having hundreds of fake friends whom you will never get to meet for real? Unless they are your only friends, which might be a sign that you're spending too much time in front of your computer.

--
Hope is a freelance web writer and technology expert who has writes about everything from radar detectors, health topics to internet and online gaming.
