So, how many of these affiliate programs should you join to be sure you’ll make enough to feel good about all the extra effort and time you had to put in? The answer is that just one program is enough, if it is the right one.

And how does the right program look like? Well, you name it, they’ve got it: high commissions, free websites customized for your specific audience, tutorials and guides and all kinds of other free resources you may need, terrific creative departments and the most gifted copy writers you’ve ever seen at work.

But does such an affiliate program even exist? And how can you tell if it’s going to be a success for you or not?

This is what you should be looking for when analyzing affiliate programs:

- Online presence in their market niche. This is a really good clue about what you can expect from a company running an affiliate program. If their program is successful and they have gazillions of customers, then they should be all over the web – even more so if we are talking weight loss affiliate programs. In today’s diet-world, profitable companies are really high profile.

- Products they market. I was thinking how many products I know that are backed by independent clinical studies and I couldn’t come up with more than a few, one of which is the green tea (good for everything, but not particularly useful for anything) and another being ma haung (which contains ephedrine, which is similar with amphetamine – if you were not a speed addict before, you have a chance to become one in your quest for a healthier life.)

If you are serious about an affiliate marketing career, you should know all there is to know about the products you market and only join reputable companies which wouldn’t endanger their customers’ lives for the sake of a quick profit.
- “What’s in it for me?” Enough about your prospective customers, now you have to ponder why you should ever bother to choose one company over another. Always think

about you as a partner and a customer of the affiliate company.

What would you like to have them do for you? High commissions are probably among the most important things you can ask for – so find out how high they really pay. And if you can negotiate a better commission based on your performance.

What else can they throw in? Training, if you are a rookie, is a great bonus; free web sites are handy for everybody in this business, new and old alike; other free resources, like tools to analyze your visitors’ behavior, tools to analyze the efficiency of a marketing campaign, etc could also help you get that edge that makes the difference between profit and loss.

Everything that can help you make a nice profit while not spending your own money on developing this business is great! Now that you know what you should be looking for, you’ll find it easier to join the great weight loss affiliate program and make a lot of money on the Internet.

If you think you can sell products better than ideas, then you can go with the free affiliate programs that are always looking for new recruits. Make sure you choose a good program that sells quality goods, pays you a hefty commission on time and gives you a lot of support and a lot of free resources. The best thing is to look for a flexible affiliate marketing program where people are willing to let you use whatever talents you have to make money.

Traditional marketing used to focus on getting yourself one or more free websites and using every legit SEO technique you could think of to rank as high as possible with the search engines. The affiliate marketing program would provide the design services to make your website look special and also the content that’s so important to every marketer.
