My blog readers know I am always looking for easy ways to make a few bucks here and a few bucks there without doing a ton of work. The PPP revolution is kicking off in February of 2008. It's free to sign up and takes advantage of the switch by advertisers from the Major TV networks to small websites and blogs on the web.

What is PPP? It's "Pay Per Play". Essentially it's a 5-second audio ad that plays as soon as your website or blog is opened by a visitor. Each ad is tied to your content, much like Google Adsense, except the visitor doesn't have to click anything. It is truly auto pilot at its best. In a hurry? See my Author Box below.

I am a former broadcast journalist. I predicted that the TV networks were going to see a drop in viewers with the advent of Cable TV. That was a no-brainer. But, I also predicted that they would lose ad revenue to Cable and to the Internet as more and more homes hooked up to both. Unfortunately for me, I never thought of how to capitalize on the shift that has taken place as I predicted.

In recent years, advertisers have been secretly placing products and ads in Hollywood movies through computer editing. They have gone back through older movies and, by computer editing, inserted products and ads that were not there in the original version of the flick. They are usually in the backround but visible nonetheless.

Now, thanks to some shrewd thinkers, PPP has been developed and major advertisers are signing up in droves. It launches in February of 2008 but, for a limited time, they are signing up website and blog owners right now. The more they can get to sign up, the more they can charge for ad placement, the more money website and blog owners can earn for doing absolutely nothing.

You can bet that slots will fill fast. Several of my webmaster friends signed up the same day I told them about it and they are contacting their email lists as I write this.

There is a concern about annoying website/blog visitors. I placed their "test" file on one of my blogs for a week and got zero negative feedback because the ad only plays for 5 seconds. But, if your particular audience objects, you can simply remove PPP.

They claim (but don't name) that one of the top five search engines has partnered with PPP. This should benefit websites and blogs who are signed up with PPP just as Google Adsense does. Of course, that remains to be seen but, since sign up is free, there is nothing to lose.

PPP works on a bid management system similar to Google Adwords and will compensate publishers just like Google Adsense but with one critical difference - website and blog owners will earn revenue on 100% of their traffic with no clicks necessary! In case you don't know what Adwords is about, it's a program where advertisers bid on keywords that visitors are likely to click on when those keywords are searched or put in an advertisement. Part of the amount they pay, when their ad is clicked, gets paid to the website or blog owner who allows the ad to appear. PPP does exactly the same thing but without the clicks by visitors.

Yours for success.
Jim DeSantis

--
For more details about PPP visit Jim's blog at On Line Tribune.
Have you ever been faced with the task of having to write an email promotion to your list, and then realized that you didn't know what to say or how to say it? Or, how about a blog post that just doesn't express any power of thought?

Editor's Review:
Michael Rasmussen's "Email Promos Exposed" Free Video Series:
"How to Write Killer Email Promos That Get Results!"

I rarely write reviews of free products or software because much of the free stuff is poor in content that is truly helpful. This is an exception. Michael Rasmussen's new video course "Email Promos Exposed" walks you through the actual process of writing in a targeted and clear way, step-by-step. Although the videos are designed for writing email promotions, the video series can teach you a lot about writing in general.

There are more than 8 videos. 8 of them are free. The others are in a complete package which he sells but the freebies are well worth watching even if you don't buy the package.

Here is my review.

Overall Quality.....

I am a retired broadcast journalist so I know an amateur video production when I see one. The first thing you will notice when you play the first video is the stunning production quality. He used Camtasia Studio for the production, the industry standard for creating high-quality screen capture video products. The audio is near studio quality, and the graphics are very professional. It's like a power-point presentation, crisp and clear. Mr. Rasmussen obviously knows what he's doing.

I also liked how he divided the videos up by section, and then again by sub-section. For example, one video is all about writing the Subject line, and then there are different parts of that video that each cover a certain area of crafting a powerful Subject line. This can be used for writing blog post titles that can make net surfers click the link to your blog post.

Now let's move onto...THE ACTUAL VIDEOS

Here's a brief summary of each video. Obviously it's impossible to list every single thing here, but I want you to get a feel for what each one covered, and how well it covered it.

(The link to the videos is on my blog - see Author Box below)

VIDEO 1 - INTRODUCTION

This video served as an introduction to the whole course. You get to see a picture of Michael in his every day life, and he establishes his credibility right up front by talking about some of his massive successes online. He even provides proof of credibility by displaying two checks in the amount of $50,000 and $25,000.

Some folks need to see that kind of proof. For me, I only look at the information provided. It doesn't matter to me how much someone has earned. It only matters that I learn the technique, use it, and let the money follow. Honestly, I am not impressed by how much money someone else makes. It's not my money, is it?

VIDEO 2 - BEFORE YOU WRITE THE PROMO

This video talks about some things that other marketers either don't know or want to keep secret. You'll learn things like:

* The mindset you need in order to write a powerful promo

* The different tools you need before you get started

* How to keep your emails laser-focused

* How to create an outline that practically writes the email for you.

This was an excellent video, and did a good job of kicking things off.

VIDEO 3 - THE SUBJECT LINE

I liked this video, because it talked about one of the biggest weaknesses when it comes to writing email promos...the Subject line.

The Subject line is a confusing topic, because nobody is 100% sure what the best tactics are. This video got me to thinking, this stuff could be applied to writing for blogs too.

VIDEO 4 - THE OPENING (this definitely applies to blog post titles, too)

This is where a lot of people miss it when writing their emails. Michael talks about how important it is to create an opening that is conversational, and then reveals techniques and examples on how to do that.

VIDEO 5 - THE BODY COPY (this applies to blogs)

This is one of the "meatiest" portions of the course, because it reveals techniques that are not widely discussed on the forums, blogs, and in most eBooks. He talks about the importance of keeping your body copy tight and relevant, and then reveals how you can do that.

(In a hurry? Go to my blog - see Author Box below)

VIDEO 6 - THE CALL TO ACTION (this could apply to blogs)

This is where a lot of people wimp out in their email promos. They start out strong, but when it comes time to ask the reader to click the link and take action, they don't know what to say. For blog writing, this would be the closing thought of your post and how to make it with "punch". Michael talks about some of his favorite techniques for making that happen.

VIDEO 7 - CREATING AN EFFECTIVE P.S. (maybe for blogs, maybe not.)

Some people say that the P.S. is one of the most important parts of the email, because it is often the one thing that gets people to click the link at the end. In this video, Michael talks about:

* Why you should including a P.S. at the end of your email.

* The 4 different kinds of P.S.'s you can use (this section was a real eye-opener for me).

VIDEO 8 - COMMON MISTAKES PEOPLE MAKE

I loved this video, because it showed me some mistakes that I was making that I wasn't even aware of.

Unless you're a seasoned pro, you're probably guilty of some of the things that Michael talks about in this video as well, and that's why it's so valuable. You can shave years off your learning curve, because now you can avoid some of the costly mistakes that you are bound to make in the learning process. I've been there and done that!

There are more videos in the full package that cover:

- How to create follow up email promotions

- How to write back end email promotions

- Creating affiliate email promotions (the real money maker!)

I've already watched the free videos twice, and plan on watching them again during my writing and my emailing campaigns to make sure that I have the principals, techniques and tactics burned into my mind. I am a newbie at emailing so I will likely buy the package once I am proficient at applying the free techniques. But, if email marketing is already an important part of your business, then you owe it to yourself to check out Michael's new videos, "Email Promos Exposed."

Yours for success.
Jim DeSantis

--
To access Michael's free videos, go to my Internet Marketing blog at <a href="http://on-line-tribune-internet-marketing.blogspot.com>On Line Tribune and look for the review article that contains the link.">

Source: http://www.articletrader.com

New Baby, Blogging, and Motherhood

Blogging with a new baby sounds a little nuts and is likely to be the last thing on your mind but it may just be the relief valve you need.

I put mothers on a very high pedestal. Even though I am a father and a grandfather, I really have no clue just how tough it is taking care of an infant. I know it's an almost incredible amount of work, and between changing diapers and keeping the nursery squared away it seems unrealistic to imagine that there would be time left over for any mother to blog. However, a growing number of moms are joining the blogosphere to share their experiences during this exciting and challenging time of life. There are a whole range of benefits that mothers can gain from blogging, and the spectrum covers everything from getting through the night to helping distant relatives feel closer, not to mention maintaining your sanity.

What is a blog and why is blogging such a great idea? A blog is nothing more than a daily journal, diary, if you will, of your thoughts and experiences. You write about them, in your own words, and post them online in your blog. Your readers then can comment and start a communication link with you. Best of all, blogging is free.

I run multiple free blogs and can tell you that blogging is a tremendous way to relieve stress and interact with others. It focuses me away from my daily routine and stresses. See my Author Box below for the link to my blog on Family Life to get an idea of what I am talking about. That blog is free on Blogger.com. There are other sources for free blogs but that's getting ahead of ourselves for this article.

For a mom dealing with the hassles and triumphs of a baby, blogging about your motherhood is a great way to blow off some steam or just to share some of the joys of motherhood. Your blogging may even help new mothers get through the trials and tribulations of their first infant.

If your baby often has very erratic sleep patterns that leave you up at odd hours of the night, blogging may just be the best way to fill those hours. Many moms turn to television to help them weather these dawn vigils but, by blogging through the night, moms can turn what feels like a somewhat depressing situation into an actively positive and productive one through blogging.

Another reason why moms often find blogging very satisfying is that it helps them to be a part of a community. For moms who are unable to successfully juggle a full social life with the very tough demands of taking care of a new baby, blogging can be a great way to stave off the isolation that sometimes comes during this stage of life.

A baby requires constant attention, and it can be difficult to attend social gatherings or events when you are responsible for an infant. Luckily, the internet is full of other moms in the same situation, and by chatting with them it is possible to overcome
some of the loneliness that many new mothers are surprised to encounter. If you are a new mother, you can learn from experienced mothers. If you are experienced, you can pass along your wisdom to the new mothers. In that process of exchange you all break the patterns of stress and isolation.

Of course, for a mom with an adorable new baby, blogging can be as much about celebration as it is about necessity. Having a blog about living with a new child can give mothers the chance to reflect on how powerful and warm the sensation of motherhood is, and sometimes sharing the triumphs of this unique time can make them even sweeter.

A blog is a great way to keep friends and family updated with news about your baby's first words or first steps, and with new technology it is easier than ever to make photos and video clips a part of your blog, so you can give far-away relatives the chance to feel much more involved in your child's life. Many email services now have the ability to email videos. You simply load the video onto your computer, attach it electronically, and your relatives get to see your baby is live action.

Blogging, at first, may seem a bit intimidating. Look for someone, a close relative who is computer savvy, to teach you the ins and outs or spend some time online in those wee hours surfing the internet for information about blogging. There is a ton a free tutorials online that will cut your learning curve and soon you can be a blogging whiz!

Jim DeSantis
Proud father and grandfather

--
For more free tips like this go to Jim's Family Life blog at Blogger.com.
1. Eliminate junk food - gawd! This was very hard at first!

Doing your shopping on your own is the easiest way to shop, as children and sometimes spouses are usually the ones requesting junk food. Gotta blame someone, right?

Shopping alone takes some discipline and, once you get the hang of it, will ensure that you only buy foods your body really needs for optimal health.

2. Buy and drink water or milk instead of soft drinks.

You can still enjoy your favorite drinks at a sporting event or night out, although you should cut the number you imbibe. When shopping, stick with the smallest size of that taboo drink, to save money and calories. And, don't buy the diet cola hype.
Read the label for ingredients and look for syrup content. That's where the fat devils are hiding.

Children and even adults need milk or milk products on a daily basis. Milk will also help you feel stronger, provide calcium for
healthy bones and healthy teeth, and you'll sleep better. Calcium has relaxing qualities. Remember the advice - drink a warm glass of milk before bed?

3. Buy fruits in quantity.

When they are in season, buy fruits in quantity and freeze any extras. You can buy several pounds this way, and freeze extras to have them when the fruit goes out of season. Wash the fruit well, remove any spoiled pieces, dry thoroughly, then freeze in plastic zipper bags.

You can even buy apples in season and not freeze them. Just place in a plastic bag in the bottom drawer of the fridge. They will stay fresh for weeks on end. My wife does this and we have fresh apple pies all Winter.

4. Meats and beans are a super health source.

Meats and beans are the best sources for protein. Lean meat is more expensive than meats with a lot of fat but here's a tip: Buy the cheap stuff, fry the meat in a pan with some water in it so the fat floats. I like to season the meat while it's frying. The water floats off the excess seasoning. Then, scoop the meat onto a plate lined several paper towels thick to soak up the grease and you have your own version of low-fat meat.

Canned beans are always a great deal as well, as they give you protein at a great low price. Buy the cheapest store brand too. Likely they were canned by a name brand company anyway.

5. Use beans as a substitute in meals.

You should use beans a substitute for meat frequently. There are several varieties. Prepare them in a crock pot so, when you get home, they are ready to consume.

The USDA recommends eating beans at least 4 times per week. If you experience gas after eating beans you should try washing them, covering them with water, bringing the water to a boil, then draining it off and refilling the pot.

6. Cast your fishing line at the dock or at the market.

If you live in a coastal area or an area where fish abound, make that an integral part of your diet. You can catch them from the
lakes or rivers, saving money in the process but don't overdo it. Mecury, you know? Once a week is good.

7. Peanut butter isn't just for kids.

Peanut butter is great for those on a budget. as it's popular with almost everyone. You can use it for sandwiches instead of eating hot dogs. It does need to be refrigerated. Bigger jars can last you for weeks.

One word of caution. Peanut butter contains some mold. If you are allergic, well, you probably already know it and already know to not overdo it. In Canada, candy bars no longer contain peanuts. Imagine that!

8. Water, water, and more water.

You should fill up with foods that have a high content of water. Watermelon, salads, and even sugar free gelatin are all great examples. Water is nature's elixir and a source of life to the body.

Eating healthy is a lifestyle you will not regret. You can eat healthy for just a few bucks, which makes it perfect for those of us on a
budget.

Now, you know, you really don't need a lot of money to have the lifestyle and health you've always wanted.

Jim DeSantis
Library for Dummy's.com

--
Jim DeSantis is a retired investigative journalist who edits a family of websites dedicated to information to help us cope in today's society.
Am I in a dead-end job?

A blog reader asks:
My brother keeps pushing me to change jobs because he says I am in a dead-end job. He has given me a lot of good reasons to think so. I'm just not sure. Can you help?"
(name witheld)

You certainly could be working a dead-end job if you have held the same position, for years and years. If you had goals when you applied for the job and have yet to see those goals accomplished, it may be a sign of a dead-end job. Your work go unrewarded, beyond the normal pay raises, especially if you have been employed by the same company for years.

Another sign that you may be working a dead-end job is your pay level. Has it been relatively level for a number of years. Today, most employers automatically give all employees pay raises yearly or even quarterly just to keep pace with the cost-of-living. If you have been employed by the same company for an extended period of time with any above cost-of-living raises, you may be working a dead-end job.

Have you asked for a pay raise above the normal raises and have been turned down for no solid reason? If, Yes, you may be in a dead-end job. Look, most employers expect employees to ask for a raise, especially after an extended period of time without a raise; therefore, you may have nothing to lose by asking.

Also consider this - If you do exemplary work in your current position you may be too valuable to the company in your present position to be promoted. So ask for that raise if you believe this is the case.

If any of these apply, speak to your supervisor or supervisors about your concerns. This may involve asking for an increase in pay or asking for a promotion, should any positions be available. Remember, though, be careful what you ask for. Do not ask for an outrageous raise in pay. Before you ask for a promotion, be sure you really want more responsibility.

Whatever you do, do not let this idea of a dead-end job negatively impact your work product. Be sure to continue to present a positive attitude in front of your supervisors, volunteer to work late or cover someone else’s shift in an emergency and so forth. You need to be a model employee, someone the company needs to keep happy, someone who is a great asset to the company. Keep in mind that your company is in business to make a profit. That profit provides you, and others, with jobs. The more you help increase profits, the more valuable you are to the company.

It may surprise you to know that many times supervisors mistakenly believe that workers are currently satisfied with their jobs because they have not been told otherwise. You need to be upfront and ask them for more and assure them that you are capable of handling more.

The last option you have, when looking to rid yourself of a dead-end job, is seeking employment elsewhere. If you have a family to support or bills that must be paid, you may only want to use seeking employment elsewhere as a last resort, but it is still a step that you may want to examine.

Your brother may be seeing something you are not but remain objective, not emotional, as you examine your situation.

Free advice is cheap for the one giving it and can be disastrous for the one acting on it!

Jim DeSantis
Library for Dummy's.com

--
Jim DeSantis is a retired investigative journalist who edits a family of websites dedicated to information to help us cope in today's society.
It's a challenge for us and the doctor to find out the cause of those frustrating tummy aches. Sometimes the pain requires some common sense. Other times it can be an emergency. The causes can be related to food, infections, poisoning, insect bites, and the list goes on.

Bacteria and viruses are infections that should conern you most. Gastroenteritis and stomach flu are some of the examples of infections that can cause stomach aches. Gastroenteritis is the inflammation and irritation of stomach and the gastrointestinal passage. Stomach pain due to viral infections usually go away quickly, but bacterial infections demand antibiotics. In both the cases, some children recover quickly. If recovery includes diarrhea, your child should be given plenty of fluids to avoid dehydration.

Food related stomach aches can be caused because of food poisoning, gas production, excess food ingestion and food allergies. Problems caused by food poisoning can be extreme or minor depending on the source of the poisoning. The national news gives us plenty of information, some scary, some helpful that we must wade through for what fits our situation at the moment.

Symptoms of food poisoning are vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal cramps, and nausea. Usually these symptoms surface within two days of consumption of contaminated food. Depending on the severity - chill, fever, bloody stools, or damage to the nervous system can follow. Any suspicion of food poisoning should be dealt with immediately by a call to your family doctor or a visit to a hospital emergency room.

Hundreds of diseases are known to be transmitted via food. Food can be poisoned because of toxic agents or infective agents. Infective agents are parasites, bacteria, and viruses. Toxic agents are uncooked food, exotic foods, and poisonous mushrooms, for example. Food can get contaminated because of handling by unclean workers at the local restaurant, too. Remember the recent meat and lettuce stories?

Going out to eat is another area of possible contamination. You should check your local Health Agency to determine the record of any establishment you want to visit for the first time, especially if it is newly opened.

Particular foods can cause tummy irritation, such as diary products which can expose lactose intolerance for the first time. If your child is allergic to food or drinks containing dairy products, swallowing even a small amount can cause vomiting, nausea, diarrhea, cramping, and skin rash. These items are harmless for most of us but for our little ones thet can cause, allergic reactions known as hypersensitivity reaction. Sometimes the symptoms can be life threatening and are known as anaphylactic shock or anaphylaxis. Again, call your doctor or visit an emergency room immediately.

Poisoning can also be due to overdose of medicines which, do I need to say it, you should keep in a secure place away from your children. The same is true for non-food stuffs like common household chemicals. Keep them safely locked away. Inexpensive drawer and door latches can be purchased almost anywhere, even online.

Insect bites, such as spider bites and wasp stings, can also lead to pain in the abdomen due to an allergic reaction. It can be accompanied with muscle cramps, weakness, nausea, tremor, vomiting and can cause dizziness, fainting, respiratory problems, and chest pain, increases in heart rate and blood pressure level. These are all dangerous warning flags that should be heeded.

In very rare cases, especially among children, tummy pain can be a sign of appendicitis. If this happens, your child will have a higher rate of complications and should be immediately rushed to the hospital. The pain starts slowly in the abdomen, specifically near the belly button. The pain shifts slowly to the right side of the lower abdomen within a time period spanning twenty four hours. Clear symptoms are abdominal pain, vomiting, nausea, fever and loss of appetite.

Diabetes can also be a reason for acute tummy pain. Small children usually curl up, cry, or quietly express pain through facial expressions. Your child may be reluctant to talk about the pain, but you should press to get a clear explanation of the problem. Along with close monitoring of the symptoms, studying the location of pain, pain duration, nature of vomiting, and urinary problems will help you decide the next course of action. Your pediatrician should be consulted and they may refer to a gastroenterologist just to be on the safe side.

Help your child to relax during an episode. You should keep calm, too! Caressing your child and speaking to them in a soothing voice are a big help towards easing the pain until professional intervention is reached.

Above all, you need to keep your wits about you as you handle the situation. Don't panic. Panic wastes valuable time, clouds your judgement and, most of all, frightens your little loved one.

Jim DeSantis
Proud Grandfather

--
Jim DeSantis is a retired investigative journalist who edits a family of websites dedicated to information to help us cope in today's society.
It looks like fun! Your child posting crazy videos or family videos online can be dangerous to your child and to the safety of your family.

There is a good chance your child is using using the internet to either watch, download, or post videos. In the past few years, a lot of focus as been placed on internet safety. Many parents, as well as teachers, politicians, and police officers, are concerned because predators are luring children online through the latest video posting craze online. Until recently, much of this focus has been placed on the monitoring of online chat rooms and social networking sites. However, as a parent, you should also be concerned with online video websites.

Online video websites, such as YouTube or Google Video, are known as websites that allow internet users to view the videos that are hosted on the site. Many sites allow free video viewing. What many parents are unaware of is that internet users can also make, upload, and share their own videos. As a parent, you will want to know whether or not your child is doing this.

Your child makes online videos, so what? Is that what you are thinking? Many parents feel that way. You are likely unaware of the types of videos that can be found online. You Tube and Google Video has strict guidelines that prohibit videos that have pornographic or hate-based or offensive content but there are many more such sites that have almost no such restrictions or very little restrictions at best.

A major danger to your child or your family is if your child is using video websites as if they were dating websites. Is your teenager one of them?

One of the first things that you should do is talk to your child about online video websites. You may not want to alert them to these websites and there is a good chance that they already know about them but they may not realize the danger they are putting themselves and family members in. Ask your child whether or not they have made their own online videos. If they have, you need to determine what the content of those videos are and where they were hosted.

As you know, when it comes to getting information from your child, especially teenagers, there is a good chance that you may get an inaccurate response. They want their privacy and guard it with a vengance.

If you know that your child is making use of online video websites, you may be able to find their video or videos on your own. This can be done by visiting popular video websites, such as Google Video or YouTube, and performing a search. You may want to try searching for your child’s name, the town in which you reside in, or any screen names that they may have used. If your child has posted an online video, there is a good chance that you will be able to find it.

Whether or not you find an online video that your child has made, it is important that you emphasis the safety of your whole family when talking with your child. It is perfectly okay, as long as you agree, for your child to view online videos or make their own, but they need to be aware of the consequences. It is important to let your child know how to stay safe online, especially when making their own videos to share with other internet users. Let them know it is unwise to include personal information about themselves, such as their full name, their telephone number, and their address. Be sure to emphasize the fact that online video websites are viewed by millions of people. This means that their video will likely get watched by people who they don’t even know. This can put your entire family at risk. Strangers can find out where you live.

If you are concerned with the way that your child is or may be using an online video website, you may want to take action. That action could involve having the websites blocked or just monitoring them. You have the responsibility to decide what is or isn’t right for your children and your family unit.

On the plus side, a number of fun and educational videos can also be obtained online. If you plan on monitoring your child’s use of online video websites, you are encouraged to take a look the sites with them. In fact, you may find enjoyable entertainment that you weren’t expecting to find.

Jim DeSantis
jdanswers-ebooks.com

--
Jim DeSantis is a retired investigative journalist who edits a family of websites dedicated to information to help families cope in today's society.
Let's be honest. This whole idea of having a full head of hair, that somehow bald is bad, is fueled largely by vanity. There are simple, low-cost, dietary solutions to attack hair loss, but, you do know that it's a good idea to consult a healthcare professional before you make any drastic changes in your diet, right? You do not want to create or exacerbate health problems just for the sake of a full head of hair.

Let me begin with 3 cases examining cases that focus on attitudes about hair loss.

A friend of mine has spent $25,000.00 and many months having hair plugs inserted into his forehead area. I do not want to seem unkind, but, at first it looked like a forest missing some trees. Eventually, they made it fuller and fuller, but, to me, it still looks fake. I do not tell him that, of course.

I have another friend who is bald as a cue ball. He has a full wig. It looks pretty good on him actually. Without it he looks like Howie Mandel (Deal or No deal?). He has a little bit of real hair so he has to shave his head so the wig fits properly. It's made of human hair and cost him about $500.00.

I have a cousin who is thinning too. Jimmy is a real character. He says he doesn't have friends, he has aquaintances because friends are too much work! His answer to his thinning hair? Jimmy says" Who am I going to impress? I'm married!".

That's three ways of attacking the problem from the expensive to the comical. Well, here are some simple and cost effective alternatives to try before you go the money route taken by my first two friends. I'll deal with cousin Jimmy in a minute.

There a number of different specific hair vitamins and minerals that can play a major role in helping you have a healthy head of hair. If you are not getting sufficient hair vitamins, the deficiencies can lead to thinning hair or even total baldness in the most severe cases. The fact is that the state of your hair could be reflecting the overall condition of your body. Extra hair vitamins are likely to be needed if you are generally unwell or are undernourished. Your hair will show damage and may even stop growing.

Some of the most important hair vitamins that you may need to have healthy hair include B6, biotin, inositol and folic acid. A good balanced diet is the absolute best way to protect the health of your hair. Failing that, the second best way to ensure that you get enough of these essential hair vitamins is to take vitamin supplements. It is not just hair vitamins that are necessary for healthy hair. There are a number of minerals that are essential as well, including magnesium, sulphur, silica and zinc.

The most essential hair vitamin is Vitamin A and the best form of this is beta-carotene. This is because Vitamin A can be toxic if consumed in large quantities. Beta-carotene has no such problems and is converted easily by your body into vitamin A to promote healthy hair. Of course, vitamin A is not just a hair vitamin, it is also needed for a number of other functions including normal growth of bones, skin, nails and the protective sheath surrounding nerve fibres.

Protein is another essential hair vitamin. This is because hair itself is essentially protein. The amount of this hair vitamin that you consume in your diet can affect the hair directly. If a lot of protein is included in your diet then this hair vitamin will lead to improved hair growth and a far fuller head of hair. However, a person who has a diet that is lacking in this hair vitamin will suffer from thinning hair and slow hair growth.

There are many ways to get protein. Meat and eggs are good sources. You can also purchase protein supplements. Always be watchful of what you add to your body however. You do not want the cure to be worse than the disease!

Of course, it is not just hair vitamins and minerals that are needed to ensure that a person has healthy, strong hair. There are a number of researchers who have found that there are direct links between the overall health of a person and the condition of their hair.

If a person is under a lot of stress or suffers from a lack of sleep then their hair is also likely to suffer and it is likely that their diet will not provide enough hair vitamins to counter these effects. Smoking is also a factor as it restricts blood flow to hair follicles and causes hair to die and fall out.

Vitamin and mineral supplements for hair health just might be the solution to your weak and damaged hair. They are a relatively cheap alternative worth trying before you have that forest planted on your head.

As for my cousin Jimmy, I wonder if he will still be cracking jokes when most of his hair falls out?

Yours for Success in Life!
Jim DeSantis

P.S. - Please forward this article to someone who may benefit from it.

--
Health problems stressing you?
"Performers Should Shut Up!"

The Dixie Chicks, featured on the Grammy's 2007, are still getting the cold shoulder from conservative Southern Radio for mouthing a political opinion. Actually it was a personal attack on President Bush. They still haven't learned.

Martin Sheen (remember his duct taped mouth?) has been relegated into the shadows. He appears in the new movie - The Departed - but you only see him for 2 seconds in the commercials for the flick and he is not mentioned in a starring role. Director Martin Scorsese has hidden Sheen in the shadows. Does he hope that conservatives will be tricked into spending their money on the movie, or buy or rent the DVD?

I could go on about the financial backlash each of these people is feeling and how they should not be penalized for exercising free speech but that is not the issue here.

Actor Richard Widmark said it best. When asked about politics he said - "Performers should perform and then shut up". I believe that he understood his obligation to not use his position and popularity as a pulpit to express his political views. I believe that he understood that he could easily sway the opinions of gullible star-struck fans towards a political position that he favored or decried. Richard Widmark performed and then kept his mouth shut about politics.

As a former working journalist, paid by my station and network, I delivered the news and "shut up" about my personal political views. No one knew whether I was Republican, Democrat, Independent. I voted in nearly every election and I had friends in the political parties because I reported the news and "shut up". All politicians got equal time on every issue. My job was to give them a pulpit because each was recognized as a political expert.

Those of you of my generation will remember Walter Cronkite. He was called - "The Most Trusted Man in America". Why? He earned that designation because no one knew his politics. He never tilted a story, hiding his political opinion, as is the practice among many TV anchors today. He stepped out of his neutral role only once. He went to Viet Nam and saw the carnage for himself and spoke out against the war. It was done in a way that was thoughtful and fact-based. It was not a shoot-from-the-lip opinion.

Actors and musicians are hardly recognized as having the credibility of a Walter Cronkite. They perform and entertain for a living. Yes, they have a political opinion. Most of us do. But, expert opinion? I think not. Just because Mainstream Media gives them a bully pulpit does not validate their opinion in the slightest. In fact, it should make you question the motives of Media. Why would they put these people on-air and in print? Why not give my plumber or garbage man the same visibility? Their opinion is just as valid isn't it?

Where do I personally stand on this? I will make this admission - I do not pay to view, own, rent, or listen to any performer who publicly states a political opinion, regardless of that opinion. I really don't care about their opinion. I only care about their misuse of their position and my wife and I have decided we will not support them with our money. If their name is mentioned in the credits of a film or on a CD cover - sorry.

Now, I am not proposing a blacklist. Far from it. I don't like blacklisting in any form. I don't like boycotts or protest marches either. I believe in changing things through the political system through the power of the ballot box and the power of money.

If you agree with the performers, you have every right to spend your money to support them. If you do not agree with them, you have every right to reject them.

For me - performers should perform and then shut up.

Jim DeSantis

--
You can learn to write hard hitting articles like this one. This link will take you to Jim's Self Help Resources where you will find a wealth of information from writing articles fast to writing your novel or ebook!

Source: http://www.articletrader.com
