More people are considering going off grid and installing their own solar panels. This is due partly to the recession and also an increased awareness in global warming. Generating power from fossil fuels is a non renewable source of energy which is harmful to the environment and adding to global warming.

Creating your own energy by placing solar panels on your roof is environmentally friendly and can power a range of household electrical goods including washing machines, laptops, tvs and even heating hot water.

Imagine having a bath or shower without worrying about how much electricity you are using.

Depending on your geographical location solar panels can range in effectiveness. During the day photovoltaic cells inside the solar panels store energy from sunlight and of course the more sunshine you get the more electricity you can generate.

If you live in a very sunny region then you may well find that you are producing an excess of solar power. If this happens you can then sell this back to the power company and make a profit. Just imagine that instead of receiving a bill from your power company you actually receive a check instead!

You could spend this money on treats such as a holiday, shopping, redecorating your home, or just saving it for the future.

If you are considering being completely independent of your power company you will need to install a generator for days when there is little or no sun. The number of panels you can install depends on the size of your roof. Also the angle at which they are placed is very important in determining the amount of power you can generate.

Once installed solar panels shouldn't need much maintenance and can last for years.

Buying solar panels can be a very expensive investment and there is a growing trend to make your own. It is possible to buy all the parts you need from a diy store for under $200. Buying a new solar panel alternatively could set you back around $3,000.

If you do decide to buy the panels ready made though they will eventually pay for themselves as you start to use less electricity from your power company.

--

Installing solar panels for the home is a great investment but requires some technical know how. Read reviews on the top 3 products available for download that can help you install a solar power system for as little as $200 using materials available in your local diy store.
There are many very simple ways to prevent global warming that we can all do. Here are just a few ideas that anyone can do.

Recycle your rubbish instead of letting it all go to landfill. It doesn't take a few minutes extra to rinse out glass bottles and jars and then if your council provides you with separate bins for glass and plastic as well as paper and cardboard, then use them. Otherwise take them to a recycle centre.

Sign up for paperless billing for your gas, water and electric bills. Many companies allow you to do this now and it's much more convenient to be able to pay your bills online. It saves on paper and so one tiny little way to help save the rainforest! It may not sound much but over time you will save a lot of paper.

Other simple ways to prevent global warming include buying locally grown produce. Nowadays you can buy any vegetable or fruit at any time of year as they are imported from other countries. Years ago you were limited by the seasons and couldn't for example buy strawberries in the winter or apples in the summer.

By buying locally grown produce helps to support local farmers and cuts back on transportation from other countries. Locally grown fruits and vegetables often taste better as they picked when ripe.

Be conscious of how much energy you are using in your home. Always turn off the tv and don't leave it on standby, replace normal bulbs with energy saving ones, they last a lot longer and don't use as much power. Wait until you have a full load before running your dishwasher or even better wash up by hand.
Turn the heating thermostat down a degree or two and wait until you have a full load before switching on the washing machine.

If you live in a fairly sunny area consider installing solar panels. They don't have to cost a fortune and will save you money on power bills. You will also be saving energy and doing your bit to help slow down climate change.

These simple ideas can save you money as well as helping to prevent global warming.

--
Help prevent global warming and save money by learning how to build your own solar and wind power system using materials bought from your local diy store. You don't need to be a diy expert and can save $1000s in power bills.
A heart rate monitor is a device for measuring your heart rate whilst exercising. It's made up of a band that fits round your chest and a wrist device that looks like a wrist watch. The chest band uses electrodes to measure your heart rate and transmits this information to the wrist device using radio waves.

A heart rate monitor is useful if you suffer from blood pressure or have any heart related problems and want to exercise safely.
It's also good for anyone who wants to monitor their progress as you can control your heart rate by simply adjusting the settings on your exercise machine.

You can monitor your fitness by monitoring your resting heart rate.

Find your resting heart rate by putting on your heart rate monitor and then lie down for about 20 minutes so that you are completely relaxed.
Diabetes and obesity are related with about 9 out of 10 obese people suffering from type 2 diabetes. By 2010 the number of British people diagnosed with type 2 diabetes is set to double and figures are estimated at 3 million.

Diabetes and obesity are responsible for increased risks of heart disease, high blood pressure and strokes. Lack of exercise, poor diet and overeating are major factors of type 2 diabetes. A sensible healthy diet and exercise plan could make a big difference as just a small weight loss can mean a reduction in diabetes medication, a lower risk of heart disease and blood pressure.

The type of diet recommended for type 2 diabetics is one that's low in fat, high in fibre and low in GI foods. Wholemeal brown bread, brown rice and whole grains are examples of low GI foods. GI stands for glycaemic index and determines the rate at which carbohydrates are absorbed into the blood stream.

High GI foods cause a rapid rise in blood sugar levels resulting in fluctuations in blood sugar levels and insulin. Low GI foods are absorbed slowly and stabilise the blood sugar levels. This will make you feel more satisfied and less likely to snack between meals.

Fibre helps to delay the absorption of sugars and helps you to feel full quicker. Eat plenty of fresh vegetables and fruit as well as beans and pulses.

Drink at least 2 litres of water a day as this will not only rid your body of toxins but also make you feel full. Often thirst is confused with hunger.

Byetta is a diabetes drug which is injected before breakfast and evening meals and has been shown to not only stabilise blood sugar levels but also causes weight loss.

Byetta is good news for anyone who is diabetic and obese. It works by making the rate at which the stomach empties slow down and also produces a sense of fullness.

It's advised for people to inject byetta about an hour before eating so that it gives it chance for the fullness sensation to take effect therefore encouraging you to eat smaller portions at meal times.

--

Kathy Joyce publishes informative articles on weight loss and nutrition
Visit <a href=http://www.weightlossdietitngtips.com

Source: http://www.articletrader.com

Poor diet and nutrition is a major cause of the increase in conditions such as
heart disease, diabetes and strokes. In today's fast paced life lack of time means
that many people don't get regular healthy meals. A lunchtime meeting at the office
may mean 5 minutes to quickly down a sandwich while checking emails. Late home
from work, children to take care of and a million other distractions dinner may
mean take always or easy pre prepared food from the supermarket.

Obesity has become more common with about 2 in 5 adults being overweight and
about 1 in 5 adults diagnosed as being obese in the UK. Poor diet and nutrition
as well as exercise has a large part to play in this and people are advised
to eat at least 5 portions of fruit and veg a day.

A healthy diet rich in plenty of fruit and vegetables is great providing you
with essential fibre and nutrients, however just how many vitamins and minerals
are you getting from your diet?

Each day your body needs 60 minerals, 15 vitamins and 12 essential amino
acids. Without these the body is susceptible to a whole range of illnesses.

A hundred years ago eating an apple was a great way to get your daily dose
of vitamin C, but today eating an apple bought from your local supermarket may
be almost completely devoid of any vitamins.

The level of nutrients in our food has gradually decreased over the years and
is 50 less iron than 50 years ago,and
runner beans that used to contain large amounts of sodium hardly have a trace
of it today. Sodium is vital for muscle and nerve tissue.

Chemicals are also added to our food. Fertilizers and pesticides are used in
farming, and fruit is often sprayed with chemicals to help ripening after they
have been picked.

Taking a good quality vitamin and nutritional supplement is the only way to
ensure that you are meeting your nutritional daily requirements.

The health shops and supermarkets are stacked full of different vitamin tablets,
but which one do you choose? Do you know what vitamin or trace mineral you're
deficient in? You don't!

The best type of vitamin and nutritional supplement to take is a multi vitamin
one, to ensure that you are getting all the required vitamins and minerals.
Vitamins in tablet form are very hard to digest and only about 20-98% is absorbed into
the body this way. Liquid vitamin supplements are also three to five times more
concentrated than vitamin pills and this leads to higher bio-activity and greater
therapeutic benefits.

--

Kathy Joyce publishes informative articles on weight loss and nutrition.

Visit Weightlossdietingtips.com

Source: http://www.articletrader.com
