Emotional abuse exists and it is happening all around you but you may never even realize it. By its very nature, it is secretive and the next victim could be your sister, best friend, your neighbor, or it could even be you. Emotional abuse is masked with silence, guilt and an instinctive sense of betrayal and the negative side-effects of those who have suffered at the hands of an abusive partner, parent or role-model are huge and can last a lifetime.

Emotional abuse is one of the most unnoticed forms of abuse. Victims of emotional abuse do not bear the signs visible on those who are suffering from physical abuse. When someone says that they are being abused, the first reaction of people is to look for the typical signs present in a physically abusive relationship, such as bruising, cuts, scars or broken bones. In many cases the victim find themselves in a position of having to convince people of the truth, as often they are not believed. This is particularly the case if the abuser is known to the skeptic, as these perpetrators of abuse are often intelligent, charming and outgoing. Also, any kind of abuser is not going to go around wearing a sign saying "Look at me, I'm an Abuser".

Although the scars are not visible, emotional abuse leaves scars that are long lasting and deeply entrenched in the mind and emotions of the victim and these scars can shape future relationships, actions and beliefs and can have a devastating effect on the victim's sense of self-esteem. Victims of emotional abuse may seem introverted, frightened, quiet, withdrawn or they may appear to be confident, brash and an extrovert which is an act designed to fool the outside world so that they can hide the humiliation of the trauma they are experiencing.

Emotional abuse is always present with physical and sexual abuse but it exists in its own right also. The victim often suffers in silence, scared or even embarrassed to mention it to anyone, they may be left wondering what they have done to deserve this barrage of verbal ill treatment or may even wonder whether they misinterpreted the whole conversation and that possibly the verbal attack wasn't meant in such a vindictive way after all.

Many abusers are in fact victims of bullying or have very little confidence and possibly low self-esteem. If abusers have suffered some type of abuse themselves and have learned to eradicate the feelings of helplessness which comes hand in hand with this, it may mean that they have deliberately chosen not to seek help but have decided that it is better to be the one who is dealing the abuse and not being on the receiving end of it.
If only all those people who have suffered or are still suffering from abuse would seek counseling, this continuous chain of torment and pain could be stopped in its tracks once and for all.

--

Lesley Komlos was a victim of Emotional Abuse in her marriage.

Lesley has set out to try and help others who have also been abused emotionally.

For More Information visit:

Emotional Abuse Recovery

Source: http://www.articletrader.com

Many People think that flat abs are a myth, and that they are something that only the elite of fit people can have. Anyone can achieve flat abs, as long as they adopt certain principles in their lives for them to be able to accomplish this.

If you are the sort of person who dislikes exercising excessively, or if you would prefer to be flayed alive than be seen in a gym or doing anything that even vaguely looks like an exercise, then you might find that it's a little harder to get the flat abs that you are desire.

On the other hand, however, if you don't mind the rigors of exercise and if you are okay with perspiration dripping down your face and your muscles aching from abominably because you just had a great day getting down and dirty with your abdominal exercises, then there is definitely hope for you yet.

You will find it easier to get into the groove of exercising and eating a healthy diet in order to get your flat abs, because make no mistake, it will require exercise and you will need to alter your diet to something that is remotely resembling healthy into order to get flat abs.

Having said that, if all you want is to lose that belly fat, and not necessarily to have flat abs, you should be able to considerably cut down on the abdominal exercises that you need to do, but remember this is only if you want to lose the tummy fat, not if you want to achieve gorgeous looking flat abs.

To reach this goal, sorry to say, you will need to exercise and you will need to eat in a healthy way, and this includes the quantity of alcohol you drink on a daily or weekly basis too. Once you have come to terms with all of this of course, you have the option of getting yourself down to your doctor and getting a routine physical done, or you also have the option of just winging things and taking it slowly to begin with. The choice is entirely up to you.

Then the next thing on you agenda is that you need to find an abdominal exercise program that will suit your physical fitness level as well as your goals. If you want flat abs, then you certainly won't have to do as many exercises as you would if you wanted six pack abs. And when this is all sorted out, you can then set about the mission of acquiring your flat abs today, without any more delay.

--
Lesley Knowles Author of several articles.
For more information go to http://www.firm-abs-secret.com

Source: http://www.articletrader.com

Contrary to popular belief, sit ups are an effective form of exercise, and as such, are one of the very best things that you could do for yourself. Although lots of people will say to you that there are superior abdominal exercises that you might do, it can't be denied that the sit up is right up there with the finest of them when it comes to working your abdominal muscles to get toned flat abs, or when you want to get the definition known as a "six pack".

Sit ups will not give you an added benefit unless they are properly executed. This is probably the reason that sit ups have earned a bad reputation. If sit ups are not executed with the right technique and form, then you will only be doing sit ups for the sake of doing sit ups. Proper execution is therefore, essential to the efficiency of sit ups as an abdominal firming exercise.

An additional, thing that you will want to learn about sit ups, is that no matter how excellent they are to use in your workout, sit ups performed badly can result in injuries to the neck, back and shoulder area predominantly. However, this is only if you do not perform the sit ups properly. This is also why it is a good idea for you to get suitable guidance and coaching on the proper way to do sit ups before you truly embark on a course of action which involves your doing any exercises sit ups in particular.

It is important that when you are doing any form of exercise sit ups included; that you make sure that you are doing exercise which is appropriate for your own individual level of fitness. Without this precaution, you may be over taxing yourself, which can in and of itself result in an injury.

Prior to embarking on a course of exercise, the best thing that you can do is to either seek advice from a doctor about what you should and shouldn't do, or go in for a routine physical checkup so that you can know where you stand on the scale of things.

Lastly it is important to realize that starting an exercise program should not be undertaken lightly. You can do it on your own and you can be trained how to do all of these exercises on your own, although unless you know how to do them correctly, using the accurate form and technique, you will find that you are simply not getting as much advantage from your exercises, sit ups included, as you would if you were executing it the way it was designed to be. This is the reason why it's always good if you can first of all get correct training on how to go about things, from a professional who knows what they're doing.

--
Lesley Knowles Author of several articles.

For more information go to http://www.firm-abs-secret.com

Source: http://www.articletrader.com

Love Handles - How to Get Rid of Them Forever!

What is the origin of the term love handles?
It is term that is used when describing the flabby bits of flesh on the hips and the sides of the abdomen. The term has been used to refer to them affectionately as handles for a lover to hold on to. The anatomical name for this part of the body is the "obliques". Unfortunately, 'love handles' have become an increasing problem for many people, particularly men. It is really a pleasant way of referring to what are, essentially, fatty deposits.
This particular area of the body can sometimes be ignored when it comes to tackling an exercise regime. For many people, it doesn't seem to matter how many abdominal exercises they do, the 'love handles' never seem to disappear! Many companies use this as an effective marketing gimmick to get people to buy fancy gadgets or machines. Yet body builders have been getting great results for along time without the use of these types of fancy gadgets. Attempts at spot toning are unlikely to succeed as it is about looking at all of the body and the metabolism required to burn off the fat.
So what is the solution? It seems that everyone already knows the sorts of things to do, and are still looking for a quick fix or an easy answer. It does seem that some methods are easier than others. Look for methods or programs that teach how to exercise the whole body and that include exercise which target the obliques, and don't just include the standard abdominal exercises which don't seem to help this part of your body much at all. Look for methods or programs which give advice about diet and water intake. Then take it!

--
Lesley Knowles Author of several articles.

For more information go to http://www.firm-abs-secret.com

Source: http://www.articletrader.com

Most people have heard of the term six pack abs, and also of ripped, cut, and tight abs. There is also something referred to as washboard abs, or even firm and toned abs. But have you ever heard of eight pack abs? No? Well, most people haven't. Although many people are familiar with the expression "six pack abs", for the most part people aren't as familiar with eight pack abs.

So how do you acheive eight pack abs? The identical method that you would go about getting six pack abs, naturally. The only distinction here is that you are now aware of the prospect of getting eight pack abs, and that you can work your way towards this objective. Without this information of course you might never be able to define that added abs pack, but now that you know, well, the rest as they say, is history, true?

But if you've never had a six pack, let alone contemplated having eight pack abs, how would you go about getting them? Yes, the same way as for a six pack, but what can you do to first start the process then to make sure that you keep the momentum going and get to your aim without becoming excessively side tracked.

Well, first of all, you should preferably take a good long hard look at your diet and cut out those foods and things which are not only bad for you, but which you know are certainly harmful to you! Starting here, is the best idea and you could do no better than to go out and get yourself a healthy eating book to help you out in your activities aimed at getting eight pack abs.

After checking your diet, you can then progress onto the next step of discovering the right fitness program for yourself. You can do this on your own, or you can consult with a personal fitness trainer or some such professional to help you out. This is probably more efficient than trying to go it alone and you will find that you are getting a superior overall fitness plan than if you were to do it without professional help.

Lastly, when everything else is organized and you know that you have everything in place, and that you are physically fit and able to carry through with your plans, you have only to begin on your course of exercise to get your eight pack abs. It's as simple and as complex that.

--
For more information go to www.Firm-Abs-Secret.com

Source: http://www.articletrader.com

Summertime can be the ideal season to take your dog to the beach to enjoy the summer sunshine. This can be a great holiday time, as long you take the necessary precautions to ensure your dog is safe and comfortable on the beach and in the sun.

The most frequently asked questions about having holiday fun in the sun or at the beach with your dog are:
Will my dog be able to swim?
Not necessarily. Contrary to popular belief, there are certain types of dogs who will find it difficult, if not impossible to swim. There are some breeds with a combination of large weighty body’s and little legs that find it very difficult. Also, some dogs seem to have developed a fear of water that may preclude them from enjoying a holiday swim at the beach. Remember that even dogs that are good beach swimmers, do get worn-out and need to rest periodically. If taking a puppy to the beach, make sure that you introduce him to the water slowly and carefully so that you can teach your dog to enjoy your holidays at the beach.

Is the Water OK for my dog to drink?
At ocean beaches, it is not good for your dog to drink the water. Illness would result from your dog drinking the salty sea water. It is important to bring provisions of fresh water for both you and your dog to drink. Rinsing your dog with fresh water after swimming and playing in the sand is a good idea too, it can avoid skin complaints and harm to your dog’s coat.

Can my dog get sun burnt?
It is possible for dogs to get sun burnt. Dogs with short or white fur and also those with pink looking skin are the most likely to suffer from sun burn. To ensure a pain free holiday for both you and your dog, it is a good idea to take similar precautions with your dog as you would with your own skin. Applying sunblock to areas with little or no hair such as their ears is a good idea. Limiting exposure to the sun is also a good preventive measure.

Is it OK to let my dog off his leash and roam freely on the Beach?
There certainly are specific “dog beaches”, where it is perfectly ok to let your dogs run free on the beach. However most beaches require that you keep your dogs on their leads at all times. This is common sense really; it makes for a safer environment for both the people and the dogs holidaying on the beach.

Strategies for making sure that both you and your dog enjoy your summer beach holiday in comfort and safety include:

*Watch out for heat stroke symptoms in your dog, such as fast panting, drooling and unsteadiness on their feet.

*Be aware of the heat of the sand, hot sand could be quite painful for your dog’s feet too!

*Always supervise your dog while on the beach.

*Be aware of your surroundings, particularly with regards to things lying around on the beach such as fish hooks or dead fish or sea life which could be toxic to your pet.

--
Visit

Pet travel guide to get your free copy of "

The Essential Pet Travel Guide". Pet travel guide -

a comprehensive guide of pet friendly

accommodation, articles and great pet resources.
www.

PetTravelGuide.com.au

Source: http://www.articletrader.com
