Motorcycle seat height is one of the concerns of riders. Thus, it must be chosen with important considerations. ThiThe helmet is a rider’s expression. It is an expression of what kind of rider he is.

There are different styles and designs of helmets available in motorcycle stores these days. Colors range from classic solid colors to domineering neon and luminous colors to promote conspicuity. There are also replicas that look like ‘super bike champ wear’.

Street motorcycle accessories like helmet are matters of personal taste. In that case, aesthetic side is often chosen over anything else. Anyhow, this has contributed why safety is most of the time overlooked. Whatever the case may be rider’s safety must be the topmost priority.

In a study conducted by the NHTSA, DOT National Highway Traffic Safety US Department of Transportation, they have subjected 50 motorcyclists, of varying age and riding experience to a test. They were made to ride along a prescribed test route. Then, they were asked to periodically change lanes and their head to check traffic in the adjacent lane. Afterwards, they were made to change lane in their normal manner. The riders have driven the route three times, full and partial helmet on, and on the third time, without wearing a helmet. The ability to hear surrounding traffic was also altered systematically.

The study found out that helmets are not hindrance to motorcyclist’s ability to hear and observe surrounding traffic. In connection with the hearing tests, no significant difference was found in rider's ability to hear traffic, either between helmet types or between helmet and no helmet.

Hearing ability, on the other hand, was significantly affected by vehicle speed due to increased wind noise. However, for any given speed, helmets did not diminish nor enhance hearing. In connection with the vision tests, it showed that the minimal amount of the lateral vision (field of view) that is sacrificed by wearing a helmet can be made up by turning the head a little further.

Further, the study showed that 19 of the 23 riders who were given the vision tests compensated for helmet use by turning their head a little further before changing lanes. Overall, any negative effect of helmets on rider vision appears to be very minor, especially in comparison to the protection offered by helmets should a crash occur.

Arai, Bell, Icon, AGV, Nolan, Thor, Erex, are some of the trusted motorcycle helmet manufacturers in the world. The helmets they are releasing are tested and approved by Snell and DOT.

Pick the best helmet for your secured journey.
Motorcycle Jacket’s Comfort and Protection

Well, they choose scientifically and practically. There must be comfort and protection not just style, same thing with motorcycle apparel such as jackets. They must also give both comfort and protection.

However, there are some areas that need special attention. Let us discuss them one by one.

1. Material. Motorcycle jackets may either be leather or non-leather. Leather is the most famous material for jackets. However, mesh is now also widely used specially in warm season. Dupont Cordura, a form of nylon with a scale going up to approximately 1000 denier, can also be used.

2. Airing. Air circulation is necessary especially during summer where the heat of the sun can hurt the skin and can also result to a sweaty and uncomfortable ride. Riders can purchase jackets that have ventilation zippers with them. These zippers are usually found under the armpits and other ventilation holes to allow air to circulate.

Be sure that suit integration is applied to the jacket. A Velcro or a zipper at the back can provide considerable comfort. Pockets can also be added - the more, the better.

3. Conspicuity. The third thing that we have to look for is the jacket’s ability to be seen from afar by fellow riders as well as pedestrians. Conspicuity is the primary reason for motorcycle accidents. Failure to see another rider is a fatal flaw. To remedy this, riders must wear jackets with reflective materials or luminous colors. The use of scotelite can also result to a reflective jacket.

4. Waterproof. Finally, you have to consider that waterproof jacket is a must have in riding. Riding knows no weather – be it a sunny or a rainy weather – riders are always on the go. Nothing can stop them, even the harsh weather. However, if a rider rides with a non-waterproof jacket, he will likely be having illness that can preclude him from further enjoying rides.
Keeping the rider’s jacket waterproof is also a way to avoid the feel of being stinky, dirty and less confident.

Caveat emptor. Buyers must also be wary with those materials that easily loose its power of being waterproof.

Keep in mind what Nicholas Cage said in Wild at heart: A good jacket is like ‘your symbol of individuality’. Therefore, your jacket reflects you as a person - your style, comfort and protection.

--
Please visit Motorcycle Parts, Apparel and Accessories site at http://www.motorcyclepartstrade.com for comments and inquiries regarding this article.

Source: http://www.articletrader.com

Motorcycle Tires Q & A

Here are few of the frequently asked questions about tires:

1. Why are new tires better?

First, new tires are better because it is organic and it decomposes. Second because the older the tire gets, the more it is exposed to outgassing. Outgassing makes the tire brittle.

2. What’s the right tire age?

In essence, the principle is the newer the tire the better. However, to make a tire last longer the tire’s age is of lesser importance. But be careful not to buy tires which are over six or seven years old. You will be able to know their date of manufacturing by searching for the three or four-digit number stamped in the tire’s sidewall. For instance, 2101 stands for 21st week of 2001 - which is its manufacturing date.

3. What are size and pressure?

Run the bike in the recommended tire pressure. It is so simple. You just have to stick to the manufacturers guidelines. That is the safest and the best thing that you can do. Nevertheless, you can have some deviations depending on your desired performance. Moreover, you have to check tire pressure regularly.

4. What will I do in case of a flat tire?

Motorcycle tires swerve from more directions. Unlike car tires, motorcycle tire has only the other tire to prevent it from falling. Thus, the best thing to do in case of a flat tire is to replace it and not just plug it.

5. When is there a need for replacement?

It depends. Front tires may still shot even when there is still ample rubber. In fact, they may still look good even if they have gone through considerable heat cycles. They can also cup or scallop when already having uneven surface. This is the best time to replace them.

6. When to buy a tire?

Buying tires must be made at reputable motorcycle stores. These stores have already established their names and services. You can also order online. But this remedy is a gamble because it will not guarantee that you will be getting newly manufactured tires. When you buy tires personally, you have the opportunity to choose the freshest tire in the store. You also have the chance to compare prices and quality.

--
Please visit Motorcycle Parts OEM site at http://www.motorcyclepartsbin.com/list/OEM-Motorcycle-Parts.html for comments and inquiries regarding this article.

Source: http://www.articletrader.com

We can greatly appreciate the enormous benefit of motorcycle brakes the moment we are faced with our most nerve-racking and supposed-to-be dreadful ride. This is the reason why we have to maintain it well.

We must be certain that it will not keep us hanging whenever we need it. It can turn out to be our last feasible resort – no second chances because what we can be battling in the situation is our loved one’s life or our very life.

Every part of the brakes must be carefully examined so as to prevent troublesome incidents in the future. We also have to consider the brakes’ good wear characteristics, kind – whether OEM or that of an aftermarket motorcycle parts, its price and of course its function and performance.

According to the expert, the best motorcycle brake is that of an OEM. That is true. However, there are aftermarket motorcycle brakes that are equal to the OEM’s quality but of lesser price. When you know you have a better option, why will you settle for less? Why not grab the chance to own the best?

The common motorcycle brake pad design depends upon the disparaging process of dragging the pad against the disc to create the heat or friction in order for the bike to stop. For the braking fluid not to boil or denigrate, heat must be dissipated. Thus, the pad has to have a lot of ‘fill’ material for heat dissipation and the friction portion of the pad chemistry must be very severe. This will reduce the amount of actual friction-producing material. Nonetheless, this may lead to short rotor life, noise, brake "dusting" degradation, and reduced effectiveness of the pad itself.

There are other manufacturers that undertake on a totally different principle in creating bike’s friction. The brake pad material is adequately heated to embed into the brake disk. This material transfer from brake pad to disk continues as long as the pad is in use.

Cushioning effect will become apparent as the embedded material gets thicker with use. This effect dampens the tendency for the friction material to seize the rotor. This system is called the carbon brake system.

Bear in mind that an excellent motorcycle brake has a good bite, dissipates heat well, and is durable. These qualities must be your basis in choosing your brakes. This is the neutral ground where we decide what brakes to use.

--
Please visit Aftermarket Motorcycle Parts site at http://www.aftermarketmotorcyclepartsnow.com/AftermarketMotorcycleParts.html for comments and inquiries regarding this article.

Source: http://www.articletrader.com

When to Buy…

This is a difficult question. But to boot, we are the ones who will decide when shopping for motorcycle parts. Thus, we must know how to choose cleverly. We have to do it after evaluating each of the possibilities available.

The rule of thumb though is: if you are looking for a replacement or improvement part, first you consider the availability of the motorcycle parts. Second consideration is your budget. Finally, you can consider other aspects about the purchase.

Some riders are confused and perplexed in deciding whether to buy OEM or aftermarket motorcycle parts. First, we have to know the difference between the two.

Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) parts do not necessarily mean Original Manufacturer (OM) parts. Riders might have noticed that many motorcycle manufacturers do not manufacture every part of their motorcycle. They usually have the motorcycle parts designed and manufactured by other independent companies. However, these motorcycle manufacturers install them in their machines or put them in their own packaging to be sold as OEM motorcycle parts.

Aftermarket motorcycle parts on the other hand, are replacement parts that can perform as well as OEM parts. In addition, they can be of equal, higher or lesser quality with OEM parts. They are produced by companies other than the original manufacturer.

The latter are usually resorted to if used as replacement parts or if you want to customize your bike. What are the things that you must consider before purchasing the same? First, make sure that your guarantee period is over. There are states that render your guarantee void if you have an aftermarket motorcycle part installed by an unauthorized mechanic. Based on my observations, high performance parts and devices such as carbon fiber, titanium, aerospace aluminum parts and gizmos, can be had as aftermarket motorcycle parts. Another valuable observation I got was that equivalent aftermarket Suzuki motorcycle parts are cheaper than OEM parts. In addition, they can slash down the price to 70% compared to OEM price.

When you are buying aftermarket motorcycle parts, be sure you are getting at least the same quality as that of its OEM counterparts. You can do this by probing up to date reviews about brands and performance. You can find some in the Internet. Moreover, you can consult your trusted mechanics and seasoned riders.

--
Please visit Aftermarket Motorcycle Parts site at http://www.aftermarketmotorcyclepartsnow.com/AftermarketMotorcycleParts.html for comments and inquiries regarding this article.

Source: http://www.articletrader.com

Do you always search for the right words? Well, you can do something about it by improving your printing vocabulary and speak the lingo.

To help you begin, here are the critical terms in both prepress and printer:

Prepress terms:

Bleed - the amount of spare space necessary when ink runs of the page edge.

Finished size – refers to the final size of the print item after it has been folded, trimmed and ready for distribution.

Line Screen – refers to the number of rows of dots per inch.

Lineup – includes all images that must line up together once the piece is folded or collated.
Paper is produced by compressing fibers from wood pulp. The word ‘paper’ came from papyrus, a writing material of ancient Egypt. Said material is woven from papyrus plants.

The direction of the paper’s grain plays a significant role in your printing project. The proper use of the paper direction will ensure the quality of your printing job. It will also ensure the resilience and artistic side of your project. To bring out the best in your printing job, you must be able to determine which part of the paper is printable and in what direction.

Grain direction comes in two types, the grain long and the short grain. The first type refers to the grain direction of the paper that runs in same direction as the longest border. Short grain, on the other hand, refers to the grain direction of the paper that runs in same direction as the shortest border.

In deciding which grain direction to use, consider the type of printing product. When using full color digital printing, use the grain long direction to reduce stretching of paper during the printing process. It will also augment the visual effect of colors.

Grain direction is also vital when it comes to finishing processes. Printing processes such as scoring and folding need to use the suitable grain direction in order to have a durable product. Scoring and folding paper against the grain will strengthen your printing end products.

Printed items such as business cards, postcards, posters, letterheads, stickers and the likes will be enhanced by printing in the long grain. This is because long grain gives stability. It will preclude them from dripping or buckling.

When it comes to labels, cd/dvd covers, pocket folders and other printed items that use heavy ink coverage, short grain must be used. This is because short grain makes folding and scoring smooth. It also reduces the chance of cracking of the items due to the heavy ink.

Now you know what grain direction redounds to your greatest advantage. Seize the opportunity because that will lead you to having quality printed materials. Believe me, it can make a difference!

--
Please visit Digital Printing Company site at http://www.digitalprintingcompany.com/ for comments and inquiries regarding this article.

Source: http://www.articletrader.com

If I am a postcard, I will certainly take pride for being an institution in the field of communication…

I have existed and survived for decades and decades now. Though there has been several medium swarming in the community, my value cannot be understated.

At first, I was used as a medium to carry simple notes and keep relatives and friends connected. I can break distance, run a mile, swim across oceans and fly underneath the horizon to give your dear ones timely message and the usual hi’s and hello’s.

As years pass by, I was a bit depressed by the fact that I almost was forgotten by the people who once adored me. They shifted to the modern means made available for them. This fact made me sad. I was there longing for the attention to return by all means.

To my delight, the discovery of incorporating pictures and images gave me my most wanted return to the limelight. With the innovation, I looked stunning and entertaining. Landscape, seascape, still life – name it, I got them in my face. Funny, inspirational, satirical, enthralling…whoa! I can handle them all!

Nowadays, I still am embracing the limelight. Savvy businessmen and marketers are using me for improved purposes like advertising and promotions. I was instantly converted into a multi-purpose work of art.

To keep my aficionados, I would like to advice them several things about postcard printing and mailing. This is my way of thanking them…

First, do repeat postcard mailing. One big shot is not enough. Hence, continuous boost is indispensable.

Second, choose not according to price but quality. The best price does not entail the best catch. Ask around to form a good choice of postcard printing and mailing services.

Third, in doing marketing through postcards, better not have them enclosed in envelopes. Making them readily open can make your message more accessible to more.

Fourth, promote singly. In one postcard design, promote only one product or service. This is to avoid vagueness and confusion. This will also encourage retention.

Finally, using me in your marketing strategy can be the be-all and end-all marketing tool.
