Ok, so you've decided that pursuing hypnotherapy with a qualified psychotherapist is the right decision for you. How do you go about selecting the right professional for the job?

Should you see a hypnotist, a hypnotherapist, a psychotherapist or a psychiatrist? This article will help you decide the right professional to seek out to help with the challenges you face.

Hypnotist
A hypnotist is someone we usually associate with stage performances. They use hypnosis as part of a performance for entertainment purposes. These performers will refer to themselves as being hypnotists and in most cases, they will certainly have the skills, but not the necessary qualifications to use hypnosis for therapy.

Hypnotherapist
A hypnotherapist is a professional who has trained in hypnosis for the purpose of helping others in a clinical setting. Each Country has its own exacting standards for hypnotherapists, but in the UK, there is the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) and the General Hypnotherapy Register (GHR). Ideally, the hypnotherapist you choose should be listed with each, but at the very least, anyone offer services as a hypnotherapist should be certified to the level required. A hypnotherapist will use hypnosis exclusively in their practise. Their training consists of at least 100 hours of study about hypnosis, regression and the intricacies of communication with the mind in its subconscious mode.

Psychotherapist
A psychotherapist may use hypnosis along with psychoanalysis and other forms of communication such as conversation, the written word, artwork, drama, narrative story or therapeutic touch. A psychotherapist is involved in more what is conventionally called counselling. They also have their own association, so when choosing a psychotherapist, they should ideally be a member.

Psychiatrist
A psychiatrist is both a Medical Doctor and a psychologist, which means they deal with mental disorders and can prescribe drugs. They may or may not use hypnosis, counselling or psychotherapy technique in their practise of psychiatry or they may simply have a prescription drug approach to help their patients. If they do use hypnosis, it will more likely be at a very basic level as the training they under take is more likely to be over the course of a weekend than a lengthy course.

We've looked at the different types of professionals out there who can help with you, one final consideration is the amount of experience they have in your particular area of need. Ask these important questions: How long have they been practising? Have they helped a client with a similar problem? How many satisfied clients do they have? What is their specialty?

Once you've identified the exact type of professional you need for your area of concern, you can evaluate the other considerations such as their experience, professional training, success with other clients and membership of professionalassociations. The final thing to ask yourself comes when you walk into the office and meet the person -- do I feel comfortable being around them?

--
Richard Reid is experienced in a variety of disciplines including NLP, EMDR, Integrative Counselling and Hypno-Psychotherapy. He is also a qualified provider of Critical Incident Stress Debriefing and Alternative Dispute Resolution.
Having run a charter company here in Sydney Harbour since 1982, I have assisted thousands of people in that time bring in the New Year watching fireworks on the harbour.

Here is my checklist of the top 5 things you should consider before booking any Sydney Harbour Cruise -- for New Years or any other time.

1. What does the package include? I.e food, drink, music, etc?

This is very important to know from the beginning. On some boats, only beer and wine will be included, spirits will be an extra charge. If you are on a cruise you believe to be fully inclusive, it should be just that.

2. Are there any extra charges?

In some cases, depending on the wharf there may be an additional charge for the use of the wharf. With the busy traffic on Sydney Harbour, time slots are at a premium, so at most, the vessel will have 15 minute to embark and 15 minutes to disembark passengers.

3. Is the vessel safe and clean with a professional crew?

The best way to ensure you are with a safe and reputable company is to ask for feedback from previous companies. Are they positive/favourable? Is the company in good standing in the industry and experienced? Do they have a functioning website and customer service team? Not all cruise companies are created equally.

4. Which wharf will the boat be picking you up from?

This is important to know for arranging transportation to the wharf. With strict wharf time slots, it is imperative everyone arrives on time and knowing the where and how of the pickup point will help with this. If taking taxis, they should be called well in advance or if driving checking to ensure there is sufficient parking is advised.

5. What time will you need to be there?

On NYE especially, this is very important due to the congestion on the roads. If you are on the City/Eastern Suburbs side and need to get to North Sydney for example, it will take a long time to get there.

Same also for after your cruise. If possible, I'd recommend driving to the pickup point and parking nearby as it is very hard to find a taxi after midnight. Most companies will charge for additional time spent at wharves and if someone misses the boat, their only option will be to use a water taxi to transfer.

Paying close attention to my top 5 tips will ensure a memorable and stress free Sydney Harbour Cruise. See you on the Harbour.

--
Michael Davies is Managing Director of Flagship Charters, a Sydney based cruise and charter company.
So it’s your best mate’s Buck’s party and it’s your responsibility to throw him a night he’ll never forget… a worthy send off from singledom. Chances are you’ve never organized a Buck’s night before and it can be more than a little stressful.

There are a number of “musts” required depending on the age and maturity levels of those involved, especially if you want to avoid clichés such as having the Buck parade around in a $5 charity shop wedding dress, tying him to a lamp post at 4am, or shaving one eyebrow whilst he’s passed out.

It’s also likely you’ll be juggling the old, the new and the ugly friends, the soon to be father of the bride, the under age brother and the embarrassing ‘got drunk too fast’ uncle, so you’ll need somewhere delightfully tacky to suit all types, yet unrefined enough for a Buck to feel like he let his hair down on his last night of freedom.

Next, there has to be sport. And beer. And food. And girls.

The ideal watering hole for a Buck’s party offers girls, girls and more gorgeous girls, non-stop sports action on big TV screens, ice cold beer, hearty food like burgers, steaks, ribs and chicken wings in large portions served by and need we say again… gorgeous girls.

This place should also have sports memorabilia as well as photos of sport stars spanning back over twenty years scattered around the restaurant to add to the ambience. Throw in the odd real life sports star dining there as well and you’ve got the makings of a very memorable night indeed.

So after sport, beer, food and girls comes the all important ‘Embarrassment for the Buck’.

Chances are you won’t want to ruin your friendship forever, so you’ll need a better way to maximize the embarrassment factor you can reveal during your best man’s speech without permanently raising the ire of his bride to be or family.

Thankfully, having the Buck stand on a chair surrounded by a group of cheerleader girls dressed in tight white singlets, orange running shorts, thick pantyhose and white sketchers singing about their disappointment of his upcoming marriage is surely more than embarrassing enough….

The fact this allows the best man to walk the fine line of fulfilling his duties without losing a best mate in the process is just a bonus.

If you want to arrange a Buck’s party that will be sure to impress but not offend then we know the perfect venue. Conveniently located, with a fun atmosphere, plenty of sports action, ice cold beer and great food… it’s a way of life and it’s the key to planning the perfect Bucks party.

--
Julia Bayley is Marketing Manager for Hooters Restaurants Australia & New Zealand.
An introduction to Adult Stem Cells

I'm sure you've already heard about Stem Cells. Maybe you saw a news story or a read a news article or saw the Presidential address. They are the most widely publicized scientific discovery today and with good reason. How about Embryonic Stem Cells? They have created a great deal of controversy and with good reason. The lure of what Embryonic Stem Cells can do for our health has led to ethical issues surrounding such things as embryo harvesting. One thing remains, Stem Cells represent the future of Health and Wellness as we know it. And they are here to stay.

So what are they?

Stem Cells are master cells, meaning that they can generate many, if not all, of the different tissues of the body. They are with us our entire lives and are released naturally from the bone marrow, but like everything else, the process behind their release slows down with age. When there aren't as many stem cells in the blood stream, the body can't repair and renew itself as it once did. These master cells are still contained in the bone marrow in the millions, just not being released as they should.

As this natural release occurs we need to concern ourselves with finding ways to reverse it. The good news is there are 4 things we can do.

Exercise - as we already know, regular exercise is vital to good health
Proper breathing - deep breathing oxygenates the blood and tissues
Good Nutrition - we need nutrients to nourish and water to flush toxins from our cells
Stem cell enhancers - a new product category set to become what antioxidants are today

Stem Cells are the only known source for rebuilding the body and renewing health by restoring lost or degraded cells. They have already been used to help treat things such as Leukemia, AIDS, Alzheimer's Disease and multiple sclerosis.

They have been used to form new cartilage, grow new corneas to restore sight to the blind, as treatments for stroke victims, and several groups are using adult stem cells with patients to repair damage after heart attacks.

Early clinical trials have also shown initial success in patient treatments for Parkinson’s disease and spinal cord injury. And, the first FDA-approved trial to treat juvenile diabetes in human patients is ready to begin at Harvard Medical School, using adult stem cells. In short, they are the building blocks of life itself.

Adult versus Embryonic Stem Cells.

Adult Stem Cells is the term given to stem cells after birth which means babies have adult stem cells in their bodies. Embryonic stem cells are simply those from embryos -- undifferentiated, or not developed into a specific cell types. Research has shown that embryonic stem cells can develop genetic abnormalities. This is not the case with our own adult stem cells.

For this reason, researchers such as Kursad Turksen in his book 'Adult Stem Cells' offer the following wisdom: “Adult stem cell biology is at the forefront of the emerging field of regenerative medicine, offering a source of cells to generate tissues that lack some of the ethical and political impediments inherent in embryonic, fetal, and cloned cells.”

The biggest advantage of using adult stem cells is that the body's own stem cells can be used, effectively removing the problems of immune rejection or abnormalities.

Adult stem cell science is real.

Adult stem cell research offers the best and clinically proven treatments for a whole host of human diseases and conditions and is helping people overcome these health challenges as you read this article. There are currently over 700 FDA approved clinical trials going on in the United States using adult stem cells but none for embryonic stem cells which is why the future of regenerative health and wellness looks great with Adult stem cells.

--
Matt Canham runs http://adult-stem-cells.info, a site dedicated to informing people about how increasing the number of adult stem cells circulating in the blood stream can help maintain optimal health.

Source: http://www.articletrader.com

Search engine optimization is the process of maximizing the ranking of you site in search engine listings. The most important factors to consider to achieve a high ranking are: the keywords you use, your title, your description, the text of your site, and the links others provide to your site.

To begin selecting keywords, consider what words and phrases the people you are trying to reach will be searching on. When placing keywords in your keyword tag, it is best to use phases rather than single words. Almost all single words are in very widespread use, thus will not tend to produce high rankings. Keyword phrases can be better tailored to your business. Also, since phrase searches produce fewer results, people are more likely to search on them. It is also a good idea to produce a list of keyword phrases for every page of your site. If you must include difficult to spell words, it is a good idea to include some common misspellings of these words as well.

The title is just as important, if not more important, than your keywords. Most search engines place the highest level of importance on the words found in the title when calculating the ranking. You should place your most important keyword phrases first in your title, as some search engines limit the number of characters you can use. Make your title a readable sentence, as this is the first text that will appear for your listing on the results page. One thing you should avoid doing is simply listing keywords. This could be regarded by the search engine as keyword spamming, and may lower your search ranking, or even get your listing removed from the site. As with keywords, it is a good idea to give each page a unique title.

In your description you should once again make use of your best keyword phrases. In this case, you can use more of them, since search engines will give you typically around 1024 characters for the description, while they will give you only around 50 to 80 for the title. Again, place your keywords as close to the beginning of your description as makes sense.

In the text of your site you should make use of, yes, you've guessed it, your keyword phrases. Also include any text you have used in other tags, such as meta tags, alt tags, and headings. Having a lot of content helps as well. A minimum of 200 words per page is recommended. Having many pages of content also increases your rankings.

Having many other sites link to you is another good way to increase your search rankings. Both the links themselves and the increase traffic which results will help. Also, having bloggers link to your site is a good idea.

Although these practices will boost your rankings, there are certain design elements that can interfere with your search rankings. These include frames, dynamic URLs, Flash, using image maps for navigation, and using javascripts for navigation. Also, there are certain practices that search engines regard as spamming, and these practices will get you permanently removed from the site. These include using keywords in your meta tags that do not relate to the content of your page, using multiple instances of the same tag, and listing keywords in the text of your site.

This is just the briefest introduction to search engine optimization.
6 Key Areas For evaluating Short Term Loans

Short terms loans are great in times of crisis, when a business needs capital fast, for growth, for purchasing plant and equipment and/or stock and to assist with a short term cash flow issues. The real key is to find a lender with top marks in these 6 key areas.

1. Speed

For any business, time is money. Perhaps the most important aspect of a short term loan is the speed at which the money can be lent. Not all lenders are able to advance much needed funds as soon as possible. In my mind, 5-6 working days from 1st call to money advanced should be the norm and in some cases capital can be advanced in as little as 24 hours.

2. Approval time

Approval time is of the utmost importance. Do you want to wait 48 hours for an answer or do you want to be approved in less than 15 minutes? Approval speed allows the lender to provide urgently needed funds so you as the business owner can put them to good use.

3. Money available

A lender with millions of dollars available to lend, can guarantee this approval speed. A higher capital base ensures a minimum loan size of $25,000, so most client needs can be met.

4. No ongoing payments

Not having to make any ongoing payments is a major benefit to the client. Loans where all interest and charges are capitalised into the loan and repaid on the repayment date makes cash management much easier.

5. Exit it strategy

The sad fact is some short term lenders readily give clients money with the intention and hope that you will default. That way, they can charge extra fees and go after the collateral on the loan. An ideal short term lender is one who is part of the exit strategy and does whatever they can to support the client. Not having to worry about finance saves time and allows the client to focus on what's best for the business.

6. Legal fees

In the world of Corporate finance, legal fees are often seen as another way to maximise profit by charging 10s of thousands of dollars. There are some lenders who understand that a satisfied client is a long term client and as such keep legal fees to a bare minimum. This is the kind of lender you should be looking for.

As you can see there are a number of very important factors when it comes to evaluating a short term loan. The main purpose of the loan in the first place is to help with the development of your business, so any lender you choose should have this consideration at the top of their list. They are in business to help you, not the other way around.

--
Lucas McEntee is the CEO of Quest Corporate Services, an Australian company specialising in insolvency, business loans, factoring, corporate restructuring and more.
Are you chronically dehydrated?

For many of us, when we hear the term dehydration, we immediately think of a man staggering in the desert, or an athlete having just finished a gruelling event. We are correct in a sense, however these are both examples of acute dehydration.

You may be surprised to learn there is a far more widespread form — chronic dehydration — that we should all be concerned with.

So how do you know if you are chronically dehydrated? Again, many people have the belief that when they require fluids they will feel thirsty. Not so. By the time the mouth is dry and you feel thirsty, the body is well and truly dehydrated. You may also be surprised to know that a dry mouth is a sign of acute dehydration. You have gone beyond chronically dehydrated by that point.

The body is a smart system though, and before you reach the point of dry mouth, the body will give signs as it begins the process of redistributing the available water. When the body is in a state of chronic dehydration, then fatigue/energy loss, constipation, digestive disorders, high and low blood pressure, stomach ulcers, respiratory troubles, acid/alkaline imbalance, excess weight and obesity, eczema, cholesterol, urinary infections, rheumatism and premature aging will take place. I can (and will) write an article on each of these problems, but they are all caused by being chronically dehydrated. Any way you look at it, having to go to the bathroom more than once a day is a small price to pay for feeling great and being healthy.

The human body consists of 70% water, the brain consists of 80% water, the blood consists of 90% water. Let’s face it, we rely on water as the basis of our existence — not soda, or juice or coffee, tea and beer. We need to ingest water in its purest form, free from any chemicals in order for our cells to remain hydrated and our body systems functioning as they should.

How much water do you need? The best way to calculate your daily water intake is to take half your weight in pounds and convert it to ounces. If you weigh 160 lbs and work in an office, then 80 oz of water throughout the day is what you need to be drinking. If you are working strenuously outdoors in a hot climate, then you would need more. It should seem like you are constantly going to the bathroom and your urine should be clear. This is how you know you are properly hydrated. Every night you sweat as you sleep, so you need to repeat the same process every day of every month of every year you are on the planet.

We know that a 1% loss of total body weight in water will result in a 10% loss in physical ability. When you consider at a temperature of 82 fa, water loss is 3 liters an hour, or more than 4% of total body weight, that means we can expect a 40% loss in physical ability. If you are working in that temperature, it increases. I don’t know about you, but there are a lot of places I’ve lived that get to 100. In such warm environments, you need even more water to stay hydrated. For your physical and mental well being, it certainly pays to consider both the quality and quantity of the water you drink.

Are you hungry or thirsty?

If we need water, we can either ingest liquid or we can ingest food with water content. Our bodies will settle for either, but it is usually the food we go for instead of the liquid. Yes, in many cases, we mistake hunger for thirst, eating as much food as we need in order to get the water our body requires. The result of this is added stored fat — assuming the foods consumed are processed or take away as most busy people are inclined to eat. And the more you eat — you guessed it — the more water you need to digest and eliminate waste from your body.

Our bodies are made of water and without it, we are lucky to survive 3 days. Despite this, so many of us live our lives with uncomfortable medical problems such as constipation, simply because we don’t drink enough water. Einstein once said, “insanity is doing the same things over and over expecting different results.” So, do it. Drink more water. Hydrate your cells. They will be happy and you will also be happy as a result.

--
Matt Canham runs http://kangen-water.ws a site dedicated to information about staying alkaline, hydrated and ultimately free from disease.

Source: http://www.articletrader.com

Fisherman’s Wharf San Francisco: A Short Tour

Nearly 16 million people visit San Francisco each year, and more of those people visit Fisherman’s Wharf than any other area of the city. Indeed, as many as 3,000 people per hour walk through the intersection of Jefferson and Powell during the peak season. What makes Fisherman’s Wharf so appealing? Read on to learn more about the Wharf’s main attractions.

History

Fisherman’s Wharf began in the 19th century as the home of the San Francisco fishing fleet. At one time there were as many as 500 fishing boats, which were coming and going all day long. The Italians and the Chinese were the main rivals in the fishing industry, but due to the high degree of discrimination against the Chinese, the Italians were able to dominate the business. The area between Taylor and Jones Street is now known as the Italian Harbor, and many of the restaurants, such as Scoma’s, Tarantino’s, Alioto’s, and others, are named after their Italian founders.

Pier 39

Pier 39 is the highlight of Fisherman’s Wharf. Pier 39 attractions include 110 shops, 13 restaurants, the Aquarium of the Bay, and the California sea lions. The sea lions are there throughout most of the year. They only leave during their mating season, which takes place over about three weeks from early to late July. Also, if you need to catch a taxi, the Wharf’s main taxi stand is in front of Pier 39’s main entrance.

Alcatraz

At present, the Blue and Gold Fleet is the exclusive operator of Alcatraz ferries. All Alcatraz ferries leave from Pier 41. During the summer months, tickets are often sold out as much as a week in advance, so you should purchase your Alcatraz tickets before you arrive in San Francisco.

Boudin Bakery

The Boudin Bakery flagship restaurant is a huge two-story building which houses a demonstration bakery, a restaurant, and a small café. Throughout much of its history, Boudin was secretive about its bread making process. Now, you can watch the bakers at work through the 30-foot window in front of the bakery. Watch as they make bread sculptures of every kind of sea creature imaginable. If you would like to learn even more, Boudin provides guided tours until 5 PM every day. Bistro Boudin on the second floor has outdoor balcony seating, a big-screen TV, and a collection of historical pictures of San Francisco.

Seafood Restaurants

The restaurant industry began in Fisherman’s Wharf in 1916 when Castagnola’s became the first restaurant licensed by the city to sell seafood on the street. Many of the restaurants began as chowder stands serving the fishing fleet. Today, the largest concentration of seafood restaurants on the Wharf is at the end of Taylor Street, next to the Italian Harbor. The best-known Wharf restaurant, Scoma’s, is the busiest restaurant in the entire city. They have their own fishing boat, and they do their own preparation, so you can be sure the fish is fresh. Their specialty is blackened swordfish, which is seasonal. They don’t accept reservations, and it is not uncommon to wait 45 minutes for a table at dinner time during the peak season.

The Cannery

The Cannery was the first building built on Fisherman’s Wharf after the 1906 earthquake. Originally it was a peach canning plant for Del Monte, the largest peach canning plant in the world at that time. After falling into disrepair for many years, the Cannery was bought in 1963 by Leonard V. Martin, a San Francisco lawyer, who reinforced the exterior of the building and completely redesigned the interior to accommodate the shopping complex that is there today. There are no chain stores in the Cannery; each store is one of a kind. The building next to the Cannery, the Haslett Warehouse, originally served as the warehouse for the Cannery, and as living quarters for some of the Cannery workers. The building now houses the Argonaut Hotel.

Ghirardelli Square

The first building built on what is now Ghirardelli Square was the Woolen Mill, which housed the Pioneer Woolen Mill. After the Chinese Exclusion Act of 1882, the owner of the woolen mill had to fire his Chinese workers, and he went out of business. Ghirardelli and his sons bought the building in 1892 and moved their chocolate factory to it. The other buildings of Ghirardelli Square were built over the next thirty years as the chocolate factory expanded. In the 1950’s the factory moved across the bay to San Leandro. The owners, wanting to preserve these historic buildings, converted the square into a shopping complex, the first shopping complex built on Fisherman’s Wharf, which was completed in 1964.

As you can see, there are many things to do at Fisherman’s Wharf.
