Chembra peak is one of the most thrilling place in Wayanad, is located 14 kms west of Kalpetta on the way to Ooty road. Located amidst panoramic surroundings, the peak is at an altitude of 2100 meters above sea level. You can access meppady hills and chembra peak from kalpetta. You will hit Meppady village after a short drive where you can get your necessary permits, ask for directions to just confirm and proceed. Start early, since the trek up and back will take six hours or more.
At 2100 meters Chembra stands taller than the next biggest peak Mullayangiri, the tallest in Karnataka.

This lake is named hrudaya sarass (hrudaya means heart and sarass means lake). This lake which awaits you at the top of the peak never dries up even in very dry summer.
