Every few months, and more often around the holidays, a family turns up on television, touting the miracle of coupons, and discount coupon codes. They claim to save thousands of dollars every year just by using coupons. We all watch the shows, or read their stories and wonder if its actually possible to save that much money just by using coupons. Is it possible to save thousands by using coupons and discount coupon codes? It is, but only if you know where to look.

Discount coupon codes have been around for years now, and are easy to use. Once you have a discount coupon code, finish your shopping on that store’s website. At the checkout section, you’ll be asked to enter any discount coupon codes you might have. Simply enter the information, and you’re done.

The hard part might be finding the discount coupon codes themselves. You should be wary of any site that offers information for a fee. Some websites claim to have thousands of discount coupon codes available for a low cost, usually $9.99-29.99. Once you submit your credit card information, you’re sent a list of outdated and obsolete information. Even if the site is reputable, if you have to pay to receive discounts, is it really worth it? Instead look for websites that list the information for free.

Current Codes (http://www.currentcodes.com) is an excellent place to find a diverse group of discount coupon codes. Current codes offers thousands of discount coupon codes from some of the largest shopping sites around. The site has some specific discounts that are only valid for a certain amount of time, and many offers that are more general. For instance they list free shipping offers from websites that prominently advertise their free shipping policy on their homepage. Current Codes does have the advantage of showcasing items that the store’s site might not. Old Navy for example carries a few Halloween costumes for children and themed clothes for adults. Those items are not advertised on their site, nor are the easy to find, but Current Codes has them listed. Some items listed on Current Codes were 50% off at the website, but you would only find those deals by looking online. Similar sites include Coupon Mountain (http://www.couponmountain.com) and Fatwallet (http://www.fatwallet.com).

Don’t want to take the time to find a coupon? Secret Online Deals (http://www.secretonlinedeals.com) has discount prices available without a coupon code required. The folks at Secret Online Deals scour Amazon for the best prices available and list them on their site. They also offer a free newsletter with great deals available before they’re offered to the public. Imagine getting discounted prices without needing a coupon.

Discount coupon codes are readily available on the internet, and are easy to use. You should try looking at the websites of your favorite stores, and signing up for their newsletters or email alerts. Some stores such as Old Navy and Fashion Bug, will send advance notice of sales, discount coupon codes, and online only special directly to your in box. You can avoid searching for deals by registering directly with the store, and save some money too.

--
Monica Soberman, America’s Bargain Shopper seeks out the secret online deals that few know exist at major internet retailers such as Amazon.com, Overstock.com and others. These deals are rarely seen by the public but are always highly rated products and savings typically 70% or more. You can see the latest secret deals and be notified first before the public here:

Source: http://www.articletrader.com

Product reviews may be a good place to start when looking at buying products online, but online shopping forums might be a better choice. A shopping forum allows you the chance to post questions about a product and receive honest answers from users. In some cases you may find that the users have already posted information on things you are interested in purchasing. The problem that arises is simply finding the best shopping forums. To take away the guesswork, we’ve compiled a list of the top 5 online shopping forums:

The best online shopping forum for women’s clothes, is The Fashion Spot (http://www.thefashionspot.com/forums). Their shopping forum is divided into several categories and sub-categories, all with a fashion slant. They offer users the chance to post photographs of items they’re looking for, and to get suggestions on where to find it. In some cases you may find something you never even knew you wanted.

Red Flag Deals (http://www.redflagdeals.com) is the best shopping forum for a mixture of great deals. On any given day you might find a posting for a Costco coupon next to a discussion on saving money when buying a new car overseas. There’s rarely any topic considered off limit and the users are extremely friendly. Once a deal expires, it moves into a separate section where users can continue discussing.

Secret Deals Online (http://www.secretonlinedeals.com) is an online forum with a different slant. Instead of users registering and discussing one specific topic, shoppers have the chance to anonymously discuss deals and products. Secret Online Deals posts the best deals available from Amazon, with a short review and link to buy. Users can comment on the listing and give feedback or advice for shoppers considering the item.

Deal of the Day (http://forums.dealoftheday.com) also has an excellent shopping forum. The Deal of the Day website offers several deals every day, ranging from discounted prices to free shipping from select stores. Their shopping forum includes a detailed listing of their deals, along with any expiration dates, and then allows registered users to post on the items. They also allow users to post any deals they might find, items they currently have available, and links to items they’re selling on ebay.

Fat Wallet is another site dedicated to great deals that has its own shopping forum (http://www.fatwallet.com/forums). The Fat Wallet Forum is divided into categories such as travel deals, free items and product reviews. They also include a section for the hot deals of the day and a place for users to discuss previous deals. Users can contribute to existing topics or start their own discussion with what’s on their minds.

There are a host of shopping forums online, and depending on your taste, there’s one for you. You can find shopping forums on clothing, accessories, video games, digital cameras, televisions; nearly everything you can think of. This list isn’t all inclusive, but it does give you a place to start, and shows the top 5 shopping forums on the web.

--
Monica Soberman, America’s Bargain Shopper seeks out the secret online deals that few know exist at major internet retailers such as Amazon.com, Overstock.com and others.
