Since I was the youngest, my chores were always the easier ones: vacuuming, sweeping and mopping. But as I got older, more duties were strapped to my shoulders, and I’ve become one of the best house cleaners you will ever know!

When I talk to my friends and other women about cleaning, I hear a plethora of thoughts on what it’s like cleaning their homes. Most of it is negative. As you can imagine, everyone looks at me like I am from another planet when I tell them that I enjoy cleaning my house.

I mean, what’s nicer than walking into a clean home where you’re not greeted with clutter, dust or dirt? I love coming through the front door and smelling the freshness of fabric softener, the lemony scent of the cleaners for the floors and the fragrant air freshener plug-ins. It’s glorious.

Therefore, let me tell you how you can make cleaning your house not seem like a chore. First of all, don’t let it get too out of control. Have you ever stood in the middle of a room and looked around, and everywhere you looked, there was something that was out of place? Nothing is more frustrating.

In those moments, you wish you were a genie, so you could cross your arms and blink your eyes and everything would be in its place. But, since we can’t do that in real life, as nice as it sounds, the best way to avoid a pile up is to keep everything in order as much as possible.

When trying to take the sting out of cleaning your home, do the hardest and the least fun part first. For me, it’s the kitchen. Nothing makes me happier than having a clean kitchen, but I must admit, it’s my least favorite thing to do when it comes to putting my house together.

For some, the bathrooms may be your least favorite room to clean, so for you, you should start there.

The next bit of advice I’d like to give is to clean your house in a circle. That means if your living room is next to your kitchen and you start in the kitchen, the living room should be the next room you clean.

Also, stay in one room until it’s finished. If you have dirty clothes strolled along the floor of your bedroom, don’t walk back and forth a million times taking them to the laundry room. Just pile them up on the floor and when you leave out of your room to go to the next room, that’s when you can take them and put them in the washroom.

Going in and out of a room without completing it only complicates the situation. Start a room, finish it and move on.

If you keep your home from getting too out of order by encouraging family members to pick up after themselves, you’re work is halfway done. Just act like you have to rotate from room-to-room and you can’t leave one and start another until the one you’re in is clean, then you’ll find that cleaning your house doesn’t have to be a chore.

It has been an amazing experience to love the same person for nearly half of my life! We started dating when I was fifteen, and he was sixteen. When I tell that story, other women think that I’m lucky. They’re intrigued that when I speak about my husband that I do so with a twinkle in my eye.

And everyone always wonders how we’ve managed to stay so deeply and wonderfully in love with one another. The answer is simple: we still do the things we did when we first started dating one another!

My husband still calls me on the phone while I am at work just to see how my day is going. Even though he works from home, he still gets up each morning and drives me thirty miles, just so I can ride in the H.O.V. (high occupancy vehicle) lane and not have to deal with traffic. That means he has to take the same route coming to get me in the evenings.

When he drops me off in the mornings, when I get to my desk, my message waiting light is usually flashing alerting me that someone has left a message. As you can imagine, at least one of them is from my husband saying that he loves me and hopes I have a great day! He calls the night before when I’m not in the same room with him, or as I’m coming up the elevator to get to my office.

So, it should come as no surprise to people why I love my husband so much. It’s because he also loves me!

Marriage is full of compromises and making things fun. It takes an effort from both parties to make it successful.

Here are a few things that will keep your marriage relationship as hot as it was in the beginning.

Make time for one another. Have at least one day a week set aside for you and your spouse, and don’t let anything take that time away from the two of you.

Communicate with your wife or husband. Talking has opened up so many new doors of opportunity in our relationship. A “Good morning.” goes a long way. Good communication is key to making any relationship last, so talk…and then talk some more!

Compromise is also another key to a successful marriage. There is a lot of give and take. Just make sure the giving and taking is equally distributed, and you are sure to have a happy bond with your mate.
Lastly, have fun! Run around the house and act wild and crazy, especially if you have children. Laughing really is good medicine! Stop taking yourselves and your spouses so seriously! Your marriage will keep the fire it had in those earlier years, if you do!

You reach over and hit the snooze button. You settle back in and just as you drift off into that peaceful dreamland, there it goes: bleep, bleep, bleep, bleep.

If you’re like me, you could do this another couple of times before you actually get out of bed. Why we torture ourselves is beyond me, especially considering we know we have to get up. Maybe it wouldn’t be so bad if that annoying thing went off and we were getting up to go to Hawaii. Or, possibly it would not be as irritating if we knew when it sounded, and we got up to call the bank, that we’d find there was a six-figure deposit to our bank account.

Okay, so maybe the alarm clock isn’t such a bad thing. Maybe the reason so many of us hate it is because what it represents in our lives: another day we have to get up and go to a job we hate. Or, if that were not enough, a job that barely pays us enough to keep our heads above water.

What if I told you that you could throw out your alarm clock and never have to wake up to one again, unless you wanted to? Would you believe me? Well, you absolutely should because you absolutely can!

The secret to waking up when you want is to have the time and money to be able to do so. If you were in charge of your own time, you would get out of bed when you were done sleeping, wouldn’t you? Of course you would! Who in their right mind wouldn’t?

If you were in charge of how much money you made, you’d make sure you made enough where all of your bills were paid, you had plenty left over for fun, and you had enough to save and invest. Wouldn’t you? Again, the answer is obvious.

Well, how do you do that you may be asking? The answer is simple. You have to find a way to be in control of both your time and your money. And the best way to do that these days is to own your own business.

If you have a job, someone else determines those two very important factors in your life. They determine not only what time you get up, but what time you go to lunch, how long you have to take a lunch break, and even what time you leave.

If you have a job, someone else determines how much money you make. Which in turn determines how much you get to save, spend and even live off of!

Therefore, letting someone else determine how much time and money you get doesn’t sound very appealing, does it? But, that’s what most Americans do every day. They let someone else determine that financial future.

It’s not what most of us set out to do. No one wakes up one morning and says, “I think I’d like to have someone run my life.” But when we say okay to a job, that’s exactly what we do.

Now, you just have to ask yourself: Do I want to be in control of my destiny, or do I want someone else to be?

As if that were not enough, most of us have to fight traffic getting there, usually an hour’s drive. Then, when we get to work, we have to fight with unruly co-workers or a nagging boss. And to make matters worse, you have to fight the same traffic going in the opposite direction just to get back home.

Maybe it would not be so bad if we didn’t have just a few measly hours to spend with our family. It’s even harder for women. I’ve had to go home after working all day to stand on my feet for another hour or hour and a half and prepare dinner. Sometimes, it’s two hours after I had been home that I got to sit down and actually feel like I’ve gotten the opportunity to relax.

Making dinner, fixing plates, eating and then straightening up afterwards is a job within itself.

After doing all of that, after you’ve helped the kids with their homework, given them baths, tucked them in, all you want to do is collapse into your bed. But, you can’t do that because there’s still one person you haven’t given much attention to, yet. Your spouse.

So, the two of you lie in bed and try to talk and connect on some level, and if you can muster up the strength for a little intimacy, you’re one of the amazing few.

If that sounds like your life, you probably have a J-O-B. You know what J-O-B stands for? Just Over Broke, that’s what! With a job, most Americans are living paycheck-to-paycheck and hating every minute of it.

I know because I was doing the same thing: trading time for money. And, I came to a conclusion that it stinks! Big time!

Looking around at my co-workers, friends and relatives, I saw that they were all doing the same thing I was doing. They were complaining about the same things I was complaining about: not having enough time or money. And, I decided that I wanted to do something different.

So, I started a home-based business. There are several to choose from. The extra income has done so much for our family. We can vacation more. We have been able to give more. And, we’ve even been able to do something calling save! It’s been amazing.

Therefore, if you’re sick and tired of being sick and tired, it’s time you make a change too. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.

I know you aren’t insane. If you continue to do what everyone else is doing: trading time for money, you’re going to keep getting what everyone else is getting: being broke and not having the time to do what is really important to you.

Do your due diligence. Find a home-based business that works well for you. Go to work, and live the life you’ve always imagined!

There are lots of emotions that swirl around an engagement. Don’t let one of them be stress, due to not knowing how you will plan for the big day.

The first thing you need to do is to set a budget for how much you and your beloved want to spend on the blessed event. Once you have set the limit, do everything in your power to stay within the boundary you have determined. This will keep your stress level from skyrocketing in and of itself.

Once you’ve done that, if you want help, now is the time to look for a wedding coordinator. But if you’re like me, you want to be in charge of the most intimate details surrounding your wedding day.

Then, you have to get your wedding party list together. You want to make sure all of the ladies and men who will serve as bridesmaids and groomsmen have ample time to get their finances together to rent or buy tuxes and dresses.

Don’t forget about the parents of the precious little junior bridesmaids, groomsmen, flower girl and ring bearer. You want them to have the finances available for the items they will need to purchase for these little ones, too.

Once you’ve established this, it’s time to select a wedding location and the site for the wedding reception. If you are a member of a church already, if it will hold the number of attendees you expect, that is a good place to start in determining a location.

Shopping for the wedding gown is usually the bride’s favorite part of preparing for her wedding day. To save money, a lot of soon-to-be wives are opting for rental gowns. You can get a designer gown at a rental shop from $75 to $300! Which isn’t a bad expenditure for something most only wear once and for a few hours!

Based on your wedding location, get in your mind’s eye the décor you want to display for not only your viewing pleasure, but that of your guests. Do you prefer candelabras or beautiful flower arrangements and ribbons. The good news is, it’s your day, and the choice is yours.

If you have enough time, Save The Date cards are fun little reminders that can be sent out before your invitations. Your invitations should go out at least a month in advance. There are so many styles to choose from these days. Remember your theme, and go with that, and you’re sure to make the best decision in selecting them.

Don’t forget the photographer and videographer. Make sure you capture every moment, so you can look back and cherish the day you and your beloved became one.
But whatever you decide to do, just make sure you make your wedding day a day that brings back sweet memories that was enjoyed not only by you, but by everyone in attendance that special day.

And, I have not met a person yet, who has said no to having prosperity in their lives. But, I was perplexed because though everyone I discussed this with wanted prosperity, very few people actually experience it. And, it made me wonder why that was the case.

So, I decided to take a closer look. And in each case, I saw that everyone was pretty much doing the same thing. And when you do the same thing, you tend to get the same results. Everyone I saw was working forty or more hours a week for an employer, trading their time for money.

And in talking to these people, I found out that their parents had, in essence, done the same thing: worked for an employer, trading their time for money. And now that they are approaching, or in some cases, in their retirement years, most still don’t live lives of prosperity. Most seem to live lives of quiet desperation.

Then, it made sense! A nine-to-five, a J-O-B, or whatever you choose to call it, does not make you prosperous, in most cases. Unless you have a professional job, like a doctor or lawyer or high-level executive, chances are, prosperity is not a part of your life. And even if you do have one of the previous named jobs, you’re still trading your time for money.

There is a way to have financial peace and prosperity in your life, and that is to take charge of your life by starting your own business. Business owners are the ones who are millionaires, not the employees who work for the business owners.

You can start your own business, market it online, and have the opportunity to prosperity to run you down for once in your life. It’s not as hard as you may think. There are millions upon millions of online opportunities just waiting for you to grab hold of them!

And no matter what your tendencies are, there is sure to be a home-based opportunity that will mesh with your unique personality and likes.

The thing you need to do for yourself and your family is to continue working full-time for your living. But, work part-time creating prosperity for your life. And when your part-time effort surpasses your full-time effort, you can fire your boss and live the life you have always imagined.

With the way the internet puts us in contact with millions and millions of people, there is no sound reason why you shouldn’t try to build a business for you and your family online.

But what happens when you have a relative move in, who doesn’t want to move out? How do you prepare for this and could it have been avoided?

If you’re experiencing this, I know it’s not an easy situation to go through and rarely is it ever fun.

If you are going to allow a relative to move in with you until they get “back on their feet”, you need to set a few rules.

First and foremost, if you are married or live with someone who shares the financial responsibility of operating a home, be sure to discuss your relative moving in with them. You want to make sure they will be okay with this new houseguest and will be comfortable in the new living arrangement. Even if your relative is the best houseguest there is, their life will be altered having an additional person in the home.

For one, they will have to wear a robe or get fully dressed before leaving out of their bedroom, when they may not have done that before. Or, they may have to go to bed a little earlier or lower the volume on the television at night when this may not have been the case before the guest moved in.

So, do yourself a favor and get their approval and commitment to this before you let another person into your home. After all, you have to continue living with this person after your houseguest is gone.

Secondly, before the relative moves in, set a timeframe of how long they are to stay under your roof. Never allow anyone to move in with you without a definite time for their leaving because if they turn into a person who doesn’t want to leave and you start hounding them about when they intend to find their own place, there is sure to be harsh feelings between the two parties.

After you’ve set the time limit, lay down the rules. If you are used to being in bed by ten o’clock and your houseguest is a night owl and doesn’t go to bed until the wee hours of the morning, make it known that you would like them to be courteous and respect the fact that you turn in early. So, this means no loud television or radios that would disturb the rest of the house.

Also, if you give your houseguest a key, make sure that you get it back when they leave your place.

Most people who come to live with you will be adults. But even though they are adults, they still need to abide by the rules set for your home. Don’t let anyone get sassy with you and tell you that they are adults and don’t have to abide by any rules. That’s not so. Especially not in your home. If they can’t live with the rules you set, they need to find somewhere else to move. It’s that simple.

The goal is not to be a warden, but you do want to have your home respected. The best way to do that is to make sure your houseguest knows that you are trying to help them help themselves.

Having someone move in temporarily can be a huge blessing. But, lay down the rules and set a time limit and it won’t become a cursing.

After all, if you’ve done your part with letting the other person know your expectations, then if they don’t meet them, they’ll only have themselves to blame when you ask them to leave.
