In this article we will be talking about ways to improve your kids school Photos. After all its a once a year chance to get your kids to shine in front of the camera! As the years go by they will chart the change from toddler to youngster to teenager, cherish then and share them as great Photo Gifts.

1, Hair: Yes I know its a basic one but in my experience it gets overlooked so many times. You usually get a week or 2 notice so if it needs a cut, drag them kicking and screaming to get it done, however let them have some say in how its cut so they dont feel shy/embarressed/plain unatractive when it comes to the big day. On the day make sure they have a comb or a brush in there bag and remind them NOT TO SHARE IT! (i dont have to tell you why do i?)

2, Teeth: My kids school pics from they early school years are some of the most charming photos I have of them and a lot of that is to do with ther childlike 'gappy' smiles, dont let your kids cover up there toothy smile it adds that cuteness factor. Oh and do i need to mention brushing.....?

3. Clothes: Not much choice here uniforms or certain colours are the usual at most schools. Make sure they have a nice clean shirt or top, free from todays breakfast/dog drool/baby matter, if you are ultra organised pack a spare top for them in there bag that day and hope that they might change ito it and get the buttons right... If your kids do go to a school that allows casual or free choice for clothing, try and stay away from bright colours or flashy designs, after all this is a photo of your kids, not there clothes.

4. Practice: Now this ones not for every one, but if you can get your kids interested why not try having some fun? Try taking some photos of them in their uniform in a formal way, let them pull some silly faces in exchange for some with a nice smile, so they can see what they will look like with there new haircut/smile/shirt/ect with digital cameras these day it wont cost you anything and could make fun change to slumping in front of the telly one evening. It will also give your kids a little boost so they done feel that its 'all new' when they actually get to the front of the que at school.

5. Listen: The photographer will have done this many, many times before, so he or she will know what they are doing. The only thing your kids need to do is listen and do as they say, so just gently remind them on the day to keep there ears open and listen to what the person taking the photo wants them to do.

6. The biggest point to remember is just let it be a fun experience for your kids, if they are enjoying it then it will show on there smily faces.
