At some point and time your computer will go down. It’s Newton’s law. If it can happen it will. It’s just a matter of time. Before you are in need of computer repair or even if you need to have your computer repaired today here are a few tips to get you the best deal around.

Don’t go to the big box stores. While you may shop Best Buy for the best deal on electronics or computer parts often times the repair services in big box stores will be far higher then a smaller company. With small companies they tend to screen their workers closer and you are far more likely to have someone who knows what they are doing. This and the simple fact that if something goes wrong you have a much higher chances of speaking with the same person again.

Don’t be afraid to call around for prices. Many people call one place and that is it. You should call at least three places and describe your issue to them and get a quote. If the first company sounds like they know what they are doing and offer a price tat you feel is very free then you may not have to call anymore but more often then not you should call around. Also be sure and check if they charge by the service or by the hour. If by the hour then you should always place on spending a little more then the quoted price. Going with a company that charges a flat rate is often better because you get know exactly what it will cost ahead of time and can consider all options.

Something many people out there do not know is you can have your computer repaired on-line. This is almost always the better way to go if it is a problem with a virus or spyware infection or if you computer can boot up just fine. This is because the person working on your computer can remote in and not have to travel to your house and they can work on several systems at once. The price will vary from company to company but places like this Computer Repair shop can remove all viruses and spyware for only 89 bucks. This is not a bad way to go at all. If you have a hardware issue then there is little they can do for you but if it’s software and you want it fixed right now then by far that is a better way to go.

Lastly you can always haggle over price. Many companies are willing to drop a diagnostic fee or other related fees as long as they can still make a good profit off the job. If you have more then one computer and need both of them looked at you can almost always get a good discount. Ask about any specials they may be offering and don’t be shy about asking for a discount direct.

--
For more information on removing spyware check out our Virtumonde site. We also have many guides on removing Vundo you can check out as well.

Source: http://www.articletrader.com

When it comes to removing spyware from your computer it can be very hard. It’s one thing to un-install a program. Anyone can do that, but to remove spyware you may find you need a little help.

One of the first things you can try to do is go out and purchase a good anti-spyware program. Most free clients on the market are good but they can not block the spyware from being installed in the first place. It’s only after you get infected that they go to work. Not having active protection when it comes to spyware is like trying to put a fire out with a squirt gun. It just doesn’t work. Right after you remove one trace another one just downloads and installs on your system. This does not mean there aren’t ways around having to buy a good security suit but you should strongly consider one.

We have found that in many cases doing a simple system restore will remove most spyware and fake security tools. To do this you simply go to the Windows Start button > All Programs > Accessories > System Tool > System restore. Choose a date that was 2 weeks back from when you first noticed you were infected. Then hit the next button.

The nice thing about system restore is you do not loose any recent work from word documents or personal files. Ay program that was installed after the date you selected will be removed. This includes the fake security product and spyware. Your computer will auto reboot during the system restore process. When your computer boots back up , and after you login it will tell you whether it worked or not. If it did not complete then you may need to choose a different date. If it did work then be sure to update your current security suit and run a full scan to remove any left over traces. We have found that this simple tip works wonders and cuts down on the time it takes to remove spyware from your computer.

--
For more information on removing spyware check out our Virtumonde site. We also have a great Computer Repair site you can check out as well.

Source: http://www.articletrader.com

There is no better feeling then ripping into the box of a new PC, at least not for me. You finally retired that old dinosaur and now have a steaming hot new computer with the latest technology and a nice looking LCD monitor. One of the last things on many peoples mind when they go to buy a new computer is how to do a computer to computer transfer of files. I’m sure you want nothing more then to throw that old PC out the door or give it to the kids but before that can happen you need to get all you files and let’s face it your whole life off the system.

When doing a computer to computer transfer of files you have several options. The first thing you need to decide is do you want to transfer over just a few personal files, user accounts, or all of the above with a few of your programs that you lost the disc to. Only once you have decided that can you really choose a method for a computer to computer transfer that suits you best.

Let’s say you don’t want any of your old programs or the user accounts. In this case you can simply burn your data to a DVD or CD and manually place them were you want on you new system. This works best for those who just want a fresh start and who don’t have a ton of files. Burning CD’s and DVD’s is not hard and they are cheap. Just to be sure you got every thing you should hold onto your old computer for a week or so.

If you want your user accounts and custom settings along with your files then you have to use software to do this. The good news is Windows has a built in program called the Easy Transfer Wizard that is 100% free. You got to love that. You have several different methods of transferring the data over to the new system. If you have a network setup then that is the easiest way. If not then an External storage device like a USB hard drive or data transfer cable would be the next choice. Then CD’s and DVD’s. The transfer Wizard is not all that hard to use but do expect it to take a while to do the transfer.

Now for a possible hang up. If you actually want to transfer over any programs then you will have to go out and purchase software to do this. If you have the software disks you can always just re-install the programs or re-buy them if they are really old versions.

--
For more information on Data Transfers check out our file transfer software
page. If you want step by step guides for the easy transfer wizard then head on over to our How to Transfer Files
website. We are here to help so come check us out.

Source: http://www.articletrader.com

Find out Why Virtumonde is so Hard to Remove

If you have become infected with Virtumonde then you will need to go out and purchase software to remove this threat. You can always attempt manual removal but after a few hours you will find it is just not possible. There are several reasons for this. The first is every time you remove one of this programs registry keys or files it will just re-copy another in it’s place. That or you will not be able to remove it because it is active on the system. Even if you isolate all the Virtumonde files and manage to remove them they will just populate right back because if your infected with this strain then you have several other programs that go out and just download it again.

Only by having protection can you remove this threat. With that said you do have several options. You can always call a personal tech to come out and remove the spyware and viruses for you. The cost will vary and if you want it done that day or the next you will have to pay extra at most places. Another option is to have your computer repaired online. This tends to work well for many people and is a little cheaper in price. Some companies that do PC repair online are http://www.onlinecomputerrepair.org. There are several companies out there so feel free and shop around. You can also haul your computer into a shop to have this strain removed. Normal turn around is a few days for most shops but cheaper then having a personal tech come out. It’s still better to have your PC repaired online but if you want to support a local company then that is the better route to go down.

The last option you have is to purchase software to remove this threat. When doing so you will need to do a little research on whatever product you select to make sure it will remove Virtumonde for you. The purpose of this article is not to promote software so we will not give out titles but can say Norton, Trend Mirco and Mcafee which are some of the most popular suits out there have proven worth less against this threat. They can often times block the install and pop-ups but fail to fully remove this threat.

--
For more information on this you can check out our dedicated Virtumonde Removal.

Source: http://www.articletrader.com

If there is one trojan you never want to be infected with it’s Virtumonde. This bad boy has been around for close to three years now and every time it mutates it gets worse. It’s known mostly as rouge spyware that gets installed on the users system with out their knowledge. If you are infected with this then you also have several other spyware programs installed on your computer. Take extra care with this infection. If you have it you need to remove it at once before your system goes fully down.

The Virtumonde Trojan gets installed on systems mostly through a fake video codec. This is often called the Zlob.downloader media codec or some thing similar. It happens like this. You visit a site and someone posted a comment with a link to the latest top story or funny video. Your on this site all the time so you think nothing wrong with following the link. Now your are asked to install this video codec to watch the video clip. You install it and now you just fell for the trap. You are now infected and Zlob does it’s magic and downloads Virtumonde and all kinds of fake anti-spyware software.

The good news if your looking for Virtumonde trojan removal is there are places out there that focus just on that one horrific strain. Places like Virtumonde have several guides on how to remove this threat and also offer free help to those that ask on their blog. Some clear signs you have this are tons of pop-ups, your home page is highjacked and you keep getting re-directed to fake anti-virus software pages. If this sounds like you then take action this minute to remove this trojan before your computer goes down for good.

It is not an easy strain to remove. I know many of you have dealt with spyware and trojans before but I have yet to find any one free software package to remove this threat. A combination of several all together can and will remove it but that will take ton’s of man hours for the scans. There are some great paid for software out there that will remove this threat and you really should consider buying an anti-spyware client. The reason is two fold. You need to remove the current spyware on your system and at the same time you need protection in the future so this does not happen again. Whatever you currently have is not enough because you got infected.

--
If you need an expert to removal this threat for you then check out our Computer Repair site.
Are Home Teeth Whitening Kits any Good

Many people wonder about buying the in home do it your self teeth whitening kits but the honest truth is they have no idea what they are doing. The procedure is not the hard part. The hard part is getting the kit and getting the right one.

If you have the cash then go ahead and go to a teeth whitening place and get it done there. When you go this route you have to make at least two trips. One for the custom mold and a second for the first whitening treatment. Many times you end you having to go 2 to three times to get your teeth that pearly white shine. Not always but many times expect at least two treatments. At 200 for the mold and 400 a pop for each and every treatment you get you can see why it ads up so fast. If you want the absolute best results you will have to pay that top dollar and have a pro do it for you.

Does this mean the Home whitening kits are junk?

No it does not. In fact many kits you buy online use the same companies to make the custom mold for you and they use the same solution gel to whiten teeth as well. For a little more info on this check out our Best Teeth Whitening site. The biggest difference is the strength of the product. When you select the gel to buy you need to make sure it will be strong enough to whiten your teeth. You don’t have to over do it as kits normally come with several gel tubes so you can whiten your teeth multiple times. If you have never whitened your teeth before then do expect to use at least 2 applications over the first week. From there every 6 months or so is more then good enough for most people.

If you already own your own mold then all you need to order is the gel. If you do not have a mold then don’t worry about it as most kits will include one. They send it to you in the mail with full instructions. All you really do is bite down on it and send it back to them in the ready envelope. Then in about a week you get your kit with your very own custom mold and you are all set to go.

--
For more information and great tips on getting that beautiful smile check out our Teeth Whitening site.
Tranfering programs from XP to Vista

If you are looking at just transferring files from XP to Vista or from your old computer to your new computer you have many different options. One of which is the free easy data transfer tool built into Windows XP and Vista. This easy data transfer tool is not hard to use and does transfer over files and user settings. You can always just manually do the data transfer as well but if you go that route you will not be able to transfer over the user settings from your old system to the new. The overall cost to use the easy data transfer wizard depends on what method you use to transfer over the files. If your using a network then you have no additional costs. If you use a CD or an external media device then you have the cost of the CD’s or the USB hard drive.

But How do I transfer over programs to my new Computer

The Windows easy transfer wizard will not transfer over programs. If you want to transfer over your old data you will need to purchase software to do this. This type of software is not all too expensive. Most people can purchase this for a round 59 bucks. You may also want to get an easy transfer cable as well if you do not have a network or USB hard drive to back the data onto. With the easy data transfer cable you can just sync the two computers together using the data transfer software and in a few clicks the transfer will start. The time it takes will vary widely on how much data you have. It may take 20 minutes or even 3 hours if you have a ton of music and pictures. To sum it up here there is no free way to transfer programs from one computer to another.

There are some important things to consider when transferring over programs. For instance if you have XP and are moving to Vista then you will want to make sure the programs you are moving will work with Vista. Most printers need to updated software to work with Vista. Office programs will work just fine and most anti-irus program will as well. You should always check first. If you do not check you can always just uninstall the program if it does not work.

--
To learn what programs work best for transferring over programs check out our Data Transfer Software page.
What You Need to Know to Keep Your Computer Safe

At some point you are going to need your computer repaired. Hardware and software issues will always happen at some point. I’m sure you already new this but almost half of all computer repairs are actually the end users fault. That’s right it’s your fault. Close to half if not more of all computer repair jobs have to do with removing spyware or viruses from computers. If the person had protection in the first place they would not have to pay a few hundred bucks to get it repaired.

I already have Anti-Virus so I’m good

This is 100% false. In fact many people out there think that just because they have anti-virus software installed they are protected. End users need at least three things to be protected while on-line. If you are missing just one of them your system is at risk. Those three must haves are a good firewall a good anti-virus client and a lastly spyware protection. If you don’t have all three then at some point and time you will be infected with something.

The sad truth is most people out there want to save a buck. They go out and download a free anti-virus client and call it quits. I’m not knocking free software but there is not one free anti-virus client that can match the protection of most paid software. Yes they do work but for many you do not get live protection, it’s only after you are infected that the software kicks in and removes the threat. By that time it may be too late. Another misconception is not having to re-purchase your software. Every year you have to pay to re-new your client software. If not then you are leaving yourself open to all the latest threats.

For the most part people do have an anti-virus client installed and by default in XP and Vista you have a firewall. While the Vista firewall is decent the XP one is really lacking and you should not really on it. The one thing most people skip out on is spyware protection. Spyware is more prevalent on the net nowadays then viruses are. The reason is simple. Spyware is where these crocks can make a ton more money. Rather then just crashing your system, why not have a thousand pop-ups and push fake anti-virus software onto people? That’s why spyware has taken over as the leading threat online.

What can I do about It.?

This one is simple. Go out and pay the 3o bucks for an anti-spyware program. If you need virus protection and a firewall then add anther 20 bucks onto that and you’re good to go. It’s a very wise investment and the next time your co-worker complains about being infected you will be glad you did.

--
For a listing of the spyware software we use visit our Spyware Removal Software site. If you are already infected and need advanced help then head over to our computer repair site and we will get you taken care of.

Source: http://www.articletrader.com
