Search engine SEO is an essential part of website optimization, involving the formatting of a web page so that search engine algorithms score it highly for the relevant keyword. Each page should be optimized for only one keyword so that the page is listed in as high a position as possible for that keyword.

If you understand how search engines work you will be able to apply your knowledge of search engine SEO to optimize your website and ensure, not only a listing, but a search engine listing worth having. So, exactly how does a search engine such as Google work?

The answer to that is that nobody knows - except some Google employees of course. However, by carrying out certain actions and analyzing the results it is possible to come to certain conclusions as to what Google are looking for and using that information to your advantage. Keep in mind, however, that the number of variables Google is evaluating is believed to reach three figures, so you will only ever scratch the surface, but we know that some of these are given more weighting than others.

Search engine SEO variables come in groups, and your website optimization strategy should take as many of these into account as possible. These groups can be categorized into increasingly narrower sets, the broadest being on-page and off-page optimization. The variables with most weighting are currently believed to be:

1. ON-PAGE WEBSITE OPTIMIZATION

On-page optimization is, as the term suggests, carried out on the web page itself. This can either be on the visible part of the page, or in the underlying source html code. This optimization can be further classified into:

a) The Keywords
Each web page should be optimized for one keyword, and can contain a few sub-keywords for which the page might also be listed. These, however, are less important than they once were in view of Google's latent semantic indexing (LSI) algorithm. That is another subject! The choice of keyword is important, and there is software available (free and not so free) to help you choose the best keyword for your needs. Do not overuse keywords - instead use lots of related text and synonyms to tell the spiders what your page is about.

b) The Title
This 'title' is not visible on the page, but contained within the html 'Title' tag prior to the 'Body' section of the page html. It should contain the keyword, and is the title that appears at the head of the search engine listing for the page.

c) Meta Tags
In search engine SEO, the Meta tags, again contained prior to the visible 'body' section, provide the search engine crawlers or spiders with information about your site. The only tags of use today are:

i. The Description Meta tag. This describes the content of your site and is shown in full or part below the title in your search engine listing. Include your selling point and any toll-free number you might have
ii. The Keyword Meta tag. Not generally used, but who knows - it costs nothing and does no harm.
iii. The Robots Meta tag should be used to block any page from spiders that you don't want visited, in case they dilute the overall site relevance. For example, duplicate sales pages. Use it blank even if you are not blocking anything.

d) Headings
Page and paragraph headings should be in bold text within H (heading) html tags, H1 for page and H2 for paragraph headings. Use keywords because heading tags stress the importance of the text within them, especially if formatted bold.

e) Navigation Links

i. Your navigation is best if made using keyword anchor text and with a small description of the page linked to just below it.
ii. Try to arrange your html so that the spider sees your body text first, followed by the links that will lead it away from your page. Most importance is placed on the first 100 words and the last paragraph, so don't let these words be your navigation links.
iii. Pay attention to your on-site linking strategy. There is a formula you can use to maximize the PageRank points for each or any individual page.

2. OFF-PAGE WEBSITE OPTIMIZATION

Off-page optimization is a massive subject, and would require a separate article to even scratch the surface. It includes techniques such as one-way back links, reciprocal linking, article marketing, directory submissions, interlinking your own sites and blogs, use of social bookmarking sites and social networking, Twitter and so on.

These search engine SEO techniques can in many respects be more important than on-page SEO, and it is not uncommon to see a page with no content but adverts listed at position #1 on Google due solely to the number of other web pages linked to it.

Search engine SEO is an extensive subject, but you can improve your chances of getting a high listing if you take advantage of what is known. Information is available, some of it genuine and some opinion. Make sure you find the former and avoid the latter in your website optimization strategy.

--
These are the basics of search engine SEO.
Most people can use the undernoted tips on article writing and advice on using article content properly. If you have a website, article content is very important to your online success and this is more true now than ever before since many people are shying away from costly methods of website promotion. There are many ways to promote a website and a product or a service, but few are as free as article marketing.

Free? I can hear you protest that article marketing isn't free because it costs money to have the articles written for you, and even more to have them submitted. However, what if you could write them yourself, understood the benefits of article content and knew how submit quickly to the top ten article directories that pass your articles through their network? Not so costly now, is it?

You might even think of investing in software that writes articles for you, or article spinners that create hundreds of articles from just one. That would be a grave error, because Google is wise to these and no matter what they claim, they don't work as they are claimed to. They can have negative results, so you are advised to learn how to write articles naturally and effectively.

Writing articles isn't difficult if you understand a few simple rules, and submitting them is even easier. Get it wrong, though, and you not only waste your time, but could also, lose your reputation. Here are some tips on article writing

An article consists of seven basic parts, each of which will be discussed here, and they can be used in two basic ways: as content for your own website or for distribution to article directories.

1. The Purpose
Why are you writing the article? Is it to provide information? To make money? To show what you know? Generally it will be a combination of each of these, but you must have a purpose, and write with that purpose clearly in your mind.

2. The Keyword
The keyword has to be selected carefully, because it is the basis of the whole article. It must relate to the topic and be likely to be used by people searching for what you are offering, but with as few other sites using it as possible. There are ways of finding such keywords but that is another topic.

3. The Title
The title must contain our keyword, and preferably also a secondary keyword related to the first. It should state clearly the subject of the article, and persuade somebody scanning g down a list of articles to read it.

4. The Opening Paragraph
This is one of the more important of the tips on article writing, yet you will not find it in many lists like this one. The opening paragraph will either retain the reader's interest, and keep them reading or they will leave to find something better.

5. The Article Content
The body of the article is what shows your expertise in your niche or subject, and should be written according your purpose. With articles written for article distribution, and to persuade the reader to click to your website, your purpose is to persuade the reader that you know your subject, and that they would be safe to visit your website for more information - just as I am hopefully doing now.

6. The Author's Resource
This is where you make your final case and offer your link for them click. The link must lead the reader to a page on your site directly related to the article. Don't write an article on dog obedience and lead them to your page on dog breeds. Dog obedience would be appropriate.

7. The Summary
Many article directories request a summary of your article content with which to lead up the published article. This should be a basic précis of the sense of what have written, and not just a copy of your first paragraph.

There is one final aspect of article writing that I have not covered: keyword density and Google's latent semantic indexing (LSI) algorithm. Ignore these at your peril: Google punishes excessive keyword repetition and a lack of vocabulary semantically related to the context in which the article keyword is used.

These tips on article writing can only scratch the surface, but provide a very basic outline of the factors you have to take into consideration when writing article content.

--
These are the important factors and for a free article writing course and gifts visit Article Czarwhere you will be offered more detail and advice on writing article content.

Source: http://www.articletrader.com

Friendster Login Problems and Friendster Proxies

Friendster login problems are common and Friendster proxies are not an uncommon solution. I am sure that many of you reading this have experienced that awful moment when your login has failed, or you can't access the site, and you have tried again with the same result. Here are the three major reasons for this, and what to do overcome the problem.

1. Wrong Friendster Login Used
In today's world when you have dozens or more user names and passwords to remember, it is easy to forget your login, or to confuse one with another. It is stupid to use the same logins for all your password protected websites and pages, and occasionally you get it wrong.

This is the simplest of the login problems to resolve: click on the 'forgot password' link under the login box, and Friendster will email you your password. If you have lost your email address, then you have problems! You will have to re-register with a new email address and then invest in password security software that stores your login details and auto-fills login boxes for you.

2. Breaking Friendster's Terms of Service
I you seriously breach Friendster's Terms of Service, such as any of the list of prohibitions, you can have your subscription cancelled. You could appeal against this if you feel it is an error, but you will generally be unsuccessful. Social networks operate on trust, and any breach of that is unacceptable. Learn the TOS and stick to them - ignorance is no excuse. You will find the TOS in the navigation at the very bottom of each page.

3. Access Denied
Many employers and educational establishments such as schools and universities prevent Friendster access by denying access to the Friendster website. A Friendster login is impossible when the computer you are using identifies Friendster, or a specific IP address, as the target site. However, there is a way to overcome that: by using a Friendster proxy.

FRIENDSTER PROXIES

The way a Friendster proxy works is easiest explained thus:

The computer you are using is A. Friendster is B, with an IP address of IPB. You find a proxy site C with IP address IPC, and access it. Your computer recognizes that you are accessing site C with IP address IPC.

Site C offers you a search box into which you type the URL of Friendster. Site C then accesses Friendster and allows you to view it and also to log on to Friendster using your own Friendster login details. You can now view and use your Friendster pages as normal. Computer A is still seeing you as being connected to C IP address IPC, and not Facebook with IPB, so allows the connection to continue.

Such proxies can be used to bypass any block placed on any site from any computer, so Friendster proxies can also be used as MySpace proxies and Facebook proxies. If the proxy site is headed as a specific proxy site, you will likely be able to use for any other social website as long as it offers a search box and not a fixed link. You can connect to any site using the search box, but a fixed link is restricted to the one URL.

Therefore, if you find difficulty with your Friendster login, make sure that the first two reasons above do not apply, and then find a proxy. Your school or college can do nothing about it other than find the proxy site URL and then ban that. Then you find another proxy site - it's great fun!

--
For more information on Friendster login problems and proxy sites visit Pete's site at Friendster Login where you will also find a link to free software that will store and enter your logins automatically.

Source: http://www.articletrader.com

The Causes of Halitosis and Bad Breath Smell

There are several causes of halitosis, and bad breath smell can have several origins including sinus and tonsil infection, diseases of the lungs, kidney and liver, some cancers and a variety of oral problems. Bad teeth, or poor dentistry, rarely cause bad breath unless the teeth are seriously rotting and decomposing, and over 90% of cases of bad breath are caused by bacteria.

The tongue and cheeks contain numerous fissures which are devoid of oxygen, or nearly so, and it is there that the major causes of halitosis reside. The offending creatures are gram negative anaerobic bacteria that thrive in the moist oxygen-free conditions within these fissures. They quietly decompose food that has penetrated the fissures, releasing as they do so obnoxious evil smelling sulfurous gases.

Not only that, but the bacteria and the rotting foods form a white/yellowish fur on your tongue that also adds to the smell. In order to cure halitosis you have to kill these bacteria and remove the fur. Since the bacteria are anaerobic, you can kill them by introducing oxygen to their habitat. This is not easy to do with buccal and lingual fissures, and simple opening your mouth to the air will not suffice.

There are substances that release oxygen, and these can be used in preparations such as toothpastes, mouthwashes and chewing gums. The oxygen is released as the preparations penetrate the tongue and cheeks and kills of the bacteria. To increase their effectiveness, toothpastes should be used with tongue scrapers, both to remove the fur or plaque on the tongue, and to force the oxygenating substances into the fissures. The cheeks should also be brushed with a soft-bristled brush.

It is important that when you find an effective treatment, you continue to use it as a maintenance treatment, or the condition will recur. You will not be aware of this until your partner averts their face when you get too close, or somebody with whom you are conversing takes a few steps back when you speak. Occasional use of a mouth spray, or chewing specially prepared gum is generally enough, once you have successfully removed the bulk of the bacteria.

Keep in mind that the causes of halitosis are not always bacteria, and that just under 10% of cases are for other reasons. If using recommended treatments has no effect then get professional advice since bad breath can be a symptom of a much more serious condition than just a foul smelling by-product of bacterial degradation.

Halitosis is an antisocial condition, and one that you are unaware that you have until you either notice the reaction of others, or somebody tells you. It's like any form of body odor - people, including your friends, will talk about you among themselves but will be too embarrassed to mention it to you.

It's important, then, that you know what causes that bad breath smell, and what the causes of halitosis are, because you will then understand the importance of the remedial treatment, how to follow it properly and why the condition can easily recur if you stop caring for your oral hygiene.

--
If you have bad breath and want more details on the causes of halitosis and how to cure it, then check out Pete's web page Causes of Halitosis for a number of recommended remedies.

Source: http://www.articletrader.com

Download Free Online Movies - the Ethics

It is possible to download free online movies legally, with or without p2p file sharing software. It is not the peer to peer networks that are illegal but the way they are used, and it unfair to blame the tool and not the user.

It is not only downloading free online movies that we are discussing here, but also so-called free music downloads and video game downloads. Here we shall not only be looking at P2P software services and how they are used illegally and the ethics of free online music and movie file sharing, but also how to download movies and music legally.

A. P2P File Sharing Software

Peer to peer file sharing software allows users to connect to specific file formats on the hard drives of other members of the P2P network that are connected to the network at the same time. You can use one of the free open source P2P file sharing networks such as Gnutella directly, though most prefer to do so through a paid membership system that offers some benefits over the raw option, including accelerated music and free movie downloading speeds, enhanced file storage and retrieval, more reliable downloads, absence of dangerous malware, such as adware and spyware, and connection to more sources.

To locate a free movie, music track or game to download, you simply enter the name of the movie, track, artist or even genre and you will receive a list of what is currently available on the network, the quality of the reproduction, the file format, and how many sources are currently available online from which to download. The more sources for each track or movie the better. Click on your choice, choose the destination folder and the download starts. It is very easy to use.

You will download free online movies simultaneously from all sources (hard disks or other storage devices) offering your choice of free movie download (or music track or free game). The more there are then generally the shorter the download time.

B. Download Free Online Movies Legally

Free movie downloads (or music or video game downloads) are legal if the movies or entertainment files are not copyrighted. There are many public domain and non-copyrighted files available online that you can find using a simple internet search using your favorite search engine. You can legally download as many such online movies or music tracks as want.

Many new movie-makers that want their work publicized sometimes offer their work copyright-free, as do many people who make home movies. The same is true of new bands and singers that want to build up a fan base before releasing their work commercially, or that want to advertise a new album by offering free music tracks from it. Others might release a beta version of a new game on a P2P file sharing network to get any bugs sorted and also a sense of how well received the idea or concept of the game might be.

In other words, free legal movie downloads, free online music downloads and legal free online games provide a benefit for both the originators and the users of such free entertainment files. The problem lies in the illegal downloading of copyrighted work.

C. Illegal P2P File Sharing

Peer to peer file sharing becomes illegal when the files being shared are under copyright. This applies to all current chart hits and online movie blockbusters, new games and most commercial software that is not open source or in the public domain. Most work produced over the past 50 years is liable to be copyright protected, although much of it is also copyright-free, and can be downloaded. A good rule of thumb is if you are unsure, and then don't download it. Unfortunately most people download free online movies illegally.

A good membership P2P file sharing network should inform you if you are attempting to download free online movies or music that requires a license to download - another advantage of using a paid peer to peer network. It is unfair to condemn the software or the P2P network because of its misuse - the software is not illegal and neither is its use: it is the way that most people use it that is illegal. But should it be?

D The Ethics of P2P File Sharing and Illegal and Legal Movie Downloads

Who are movie and pop stars who openly use drugs, trash hotels and blatantly and publicly break other laws and get away with it to complain when kids break the law by copying one of their tracks or movies? The movie and music industry would be better spending their time putting their own house in order than chasing high school kids and fining their moms for downloading free movies or music tracks.

However, although that is my opinion, there are circumstances where those that download free online movies illegally can damage the entertainment industry. It is the professional movie, music and video game pirates that use P2P file sharing software to download entertainment files and copy them to portable storage devices such as CDs and DVDs by the hundreds of thousands for sale that are causing the real problem, and it is they that should be vigorously pursued, not the kids.

A major problem with this is that a large number of these pros are Asian, and it is not possible to prosecute these people in their own countries. So where does that leave us? Is it ethical to prosecute and give massive fines to people breaching copyright using P2P networks while being unable to touch those causing most of the damage? Is it right to fine a kid for copying a track from an album, who then goes on to purchase that album or even to buy a ticket for the live concert because they liked what they heard or saw?

Many of the whingers owe part of their success to illegal music downloads, because it was partially through these that they came into public prominence. The ethics of P2P free movie downloads and illegal music downloads are not as clear-cut and unarguable as those mooting them might have us believe, although we are not yet in a situation where anything other than legal movie downloads and paid music file sharing can be justified.

P2P file sharing networks are not all bad, however, and in a free world should never be made illegal - only used properly and intelligently by artistes, designers and the public alike. One day we will be able to legally download free online movies and music that has been specifically produced for promotional and testing purposes, and this shall become a common marketing and testing technique for new film and music genres, and new video game ideas.

--
For more information on how to download free online movies legally, and use P2P file sharing networks to legally download music and games, visit Pete's websitesOnline Free Movies

Source: http://www.articletrader.com

The Advantages of Downloading Free Bluetooth Ringtones

Downloading Bluetooth ringtones is very easy, assuming that you have a Bluetooth dongle to enable you to do it. A dongle costs less than $10, and can be used to interface between a PC or laptop and a Bluetooth activated cell phone.

Free ring tones can be found all over the internet, and even some of the better real tones are amazingly inexpensive. Your problem, having found one that you like, is how to get it onto your mobile phone, and how to get it activated once you have it there. That process is much simpler than you might believe. Many people purchase ringtones, and then find difficulty uploading them to their cell phone: don't let that be you. It's not difficult. Here's how.

First you need the dongle, unless your computer already has Bluetooth. An increasing number of new laptops are being launched with Bluetooth included, but if not then you need the dongle. It's nothing more than a device that plugs into you USB port in fact it looks just like a USB memory stick. Its purpose is to interface your computer with another Bluetooth device (i.e. your cell phone).

You will first have to install the dongle using an installation disk. That is just as simple as installing a printer or other device. Once that's been done, you have to activate it, and then switch your mobile phone to the Bluetooth option. You will likely find that somewhere on your 'settings' section, or equivalent. Each different make of cell phone has its own way of naming these things, but you are basically looking for Bluetooth, or the Bluetooth logo (two white triangles in the form of the letter B, on a blue background).

When you find it, activate it, and then find on your computer the downloaded free Bluetooth ringtones that you want to transfer to your cell phone. You can copy that and then use your computer to browse the folders on your mobile: when you do that it will be just like browsing any other folder structure. Once you have found where your ringtones are stored, just copy over those that you want to transfer.

Bluetooth will allow you to do that just as if you were transferring files from one folder or directory in your computer to another. You can either copy and past, as suggested above, or drag and drop the latter being particularly useful if you have two screens, or are using two windows on your computer, one for the PC and the other for your mobile phone.

That's all there is to it! It is as easy as that. The hardest job of the lot will be to get the free Bluetooth ringtones to transfer. In fact they are not really Bluetooth ringtones people only call them that because they use Bluetooth to upload them to their cell phones. They can be any type of ring tone, such as realtones or free MIDI ringtones. However, it doesn't matter what they call if they are free, and there are lots of free offers if you know where to look - and how to transfer them from your PC to your mobile!

--
To find more about free Bluetooth ringtones, and how to get them onto your cell phone, visit Free Bluetooth Ringtones where you will also find some great free ringtone offers.

Source: http://www.articletrader.com

How to Make Money Online Using Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

If really want to know how to make money online, then first get yourself a website. Once you have done that, use search engine optimization, or SEO, to give yourself the best opportunity for your site to be listed high enough on the Google search engine result listings as to provide you with sufficient free advertising to enable you to make money.

Of course, you need a product, but these are easy to find. You can sell somebody else's product under an affiliate program, buy the Private Label Rights to an ebook and change it to be your own, or even create your own. None of these is difficult to do if you know how to do it, and you have many different options as to the type of website you might want to use to make it easier for you.

I am going to skip what should be the topic of other articles, and go straight to SEO, because it is good search engine optimization that will get you a high listing. There are many ways in which you can format both your HTML/CSS and the text on your page to make sure that you get the best possible result given the keyword you are using, and the content of your web page.

Some of these involve optimization with the HEAD section of the source code, that is not seen by the reader but us certainly used by the search engine spiders in their algorithmic calculations of the relevance of your page to the keyword, and others with respect to the contents of the BODY section of your page, that both spiders and readers will see.

Before discussing these, though, let's first discuss keywords and what they actually are. Keywords are the most important part of internet marketing, but many people still do not fully understand what they are. If you want to make money online using search engine optimization, you have to fully understand keywords and their use in SEO.

If you are searching for information online for, say, the history of canal locks, you might use the term 'history of canal locks', or just 'canal locks', or even 'the history of locks'. These terms are keywords, whether they consist of one word or more than one. Let's look at 'the history of locks'. Google first removes what are known as the 'stop' words, such as 'the', 'a', 'of' and 'and'.

It then looks for web pages in their listings that contain all of the individual words left in your keyword, of which in this example there are two - 'history' and 'locks', then those that contain only one. If your web page has been listed, the search engine spiders will have determined the relevance of it to the keyword, and then to the partial keyword. It will then list all the pages it finds containing 'history' and 'locks' according to the calculated relevance to these words.

This is where your search engine optimization comes into effect: you have to persuade the search engines that your web page is more relevant to the search term, or keyword, than any other, and your success, or lack of it, will be reflected in your search engine position. Hence the importance of SEO.

You can emphasize that importance by including the keywords in your TITLE tag, that only search engine spiders will see, and also in H1 heading tags that readers will see. You can use the keyword in strategic positions, such as in your first 100 characters and in the final paragraph, and also restrict its use to no more than twice in your first 500 characters, and no more than around 4 or 5 times in a 400 word article. Some believe even that to be too many these days.

You also have to use language and vocabulary that allows the spiders to determine that your web page is about canal locks and not security locks, since the title 'the History of Locks' does not offer that distinction. That is where Google's latent semantic indexing (LSI) algorithm comes into play.

There are many other ways in which you can make money online using search engine optimization on your web pages, and once you have learned and applied these in your internet marketing campaigns you will have a better chance than most of getting your web page listed high in the Google listings, and those of the other search engines, and so getting you lots of free advertising that is critical to your success

Once you have perfected your SEO, you should use Article Marketing to secure your success.

--
For full details on how to use search engine optimization to make money online, check out SEOcious where you will find full details how Pete does it very successfully on more than just Google.

Source: http://www.articletrader.com

In today’s advanced world, technology has changed the way that people communicate and interact. Information technology, in particular, can be credited with much of the advancement in communication. The internet and the World Wide Web have enabled people from different parts of the world to communicate and interact in an engaging way.

Online dating sites have emerged as one of the most popular applications of the internet for interaction. In these online dating sites, people from all over the world meet and interact with each other in an engaging manner and at real time. Online dating sites have many applications that have made users to be hooked to them. For instance, there are chat applications that enable members registered to the site to chat one on one.

There are also applications for uploading photos, filling out a profile, posting comments and messages among others. Online dating sites have grown in popularity over the last few years and at present attract huge followings from people from all walks of life all across the world.

Many online dating sites have restrictions on registration and do not provide the much needed fun and interactions that online daters require. However, we now have exciting online dating sites that have considered what online daters have been missing in others.

In a good dating site, registered members should have a basket of fun choices to choose from in delivery and receiving of communication from other members. The first excitement should be in the registration itself. Unlike most other sites, the best sites should be completely free to register. Yes, absolutely FREE. Moreover, all members should be entitled to full use of the applications provided for them. When you register, you can start using the many exciting options available to enable you, not only to get into contact with people you might like, but also to do so in a fun way with no commitment whatsoever until you get to know them better.

The applications should be advanced, fun and easy to use with very cool interfaces. One of the most fun applications you will definitely fall in love with is the Chat Live application, used by an increasing number of online dating sites, which enables you to chat with other people in real time. If you simply want to chat with random users, you can do that using the Chat Live feature. You can chat with other members that are online at the same time as you are, get to know them and even plan a date or a future chat.

That way you don't have to wait for several days for your matching partners to reply to your messages; you just chat with them live immediately. Of course, they can refuse to chat with you, but that is also your option with others in which you are not too interested. However, many long and lasting relationships start between people that had no initial attraction for each other!

A good site should have a search engine that enables you to customise your searches for potential matches. This is very helpful since you get to filter your searches and receive the most compatible users and thus increase your chances of finding real love over the internet. You also fill your profile which is used to find you when other users wish to contact you.

There should be a picture and video upload application that is easy to use to allow members to upload as many pictures as they wish to the site. You can get your nice pictures and videos on the site and increase your chances of getting many contacts. This is a very desirable feature in a dating site, and if you get such a feature offered that is easy to use, then you know that you have found a good online dating site. Its simplicity makes uploading of pictures and videos a very easy task. Now everyone can upload their photos and videos without having to go through complicated and cumbersome processes.

Finally, a good online dating site should allow you to email those you meet, send winks or nudges and the like, and really be able to use the site as a social networking form of website: even to the extent of having a wall, such as Facebook has its Funwall. How about a Lovewall?

There is no doubt that an online dating site with these features would be a winner, so keep your eyes open. You never know . . .

--
Such an online dating site might sound like a great idea, and if you want to visit one with all of these features free of charge, visit Loopy Love and enjoy the Lovewall while throwing love bombs at those that attract you on the best fun dating site online. Free to join the fun. Fabulous!

Source: http://www.articletrader.com

We all know what the lottery mentality is, but how does it apply in article writing? Quite a lot in fact!

You know the thing:

If I keep buying tickets then eventually I must win . . .

When I win the lottery . . .

It's going to me soon . . .

Somebody has to win it . . .

Living on a hope and a prayer, and all the time spending more and more money chasing a dream. One day it will be their turn to become a millionaire. Well do you know what? It never is! The odds of winning Powerball is around 1 in 146 million and even the much smaller UK lottery is 1 in 14 million. So it's probably true to say that it will never happen to you. If it does, sue me!

So what has this to do with article marketing and writing articles? It should be obvious: people keep thinking that their day will come, when they will make money online. Eventually they will come across the magic formula that will finally work for them.

Well, I have some news for you: you have as much chance of that happening as winning the lottery unless you get off your butt and work for it. This applies equally in the specialty of article marketing as it does in the broader arena of internet marketing in general.

However, the lottery mentality does have some sort of result in terms of article writing as opposed to article marketing in general. If you keep on writing articles in the hope that eventually they you might make your fortune from them, then you might well be right. You have a much better chance of that happening than of winning the lottery, that's for sure. So how is that?

Let's have a look at some of the things you might achieve when you write articles:

- You generate content that others might copy to their websites.

- You provide information that might persuade people to click to your site find out more.

- You spread your name as author around and eventually perhaps get recognized.

- You get links back from any directories or websites that publish your articles.

- You get exposure on Google whenever a directory article is listed.

Now, if you have the lottery mentality that if you keep doing it you must win sometime, then with articles you very well could. Why? Because unlike lottery tickets, articles work for you all the time: week after week, month after month and year after year.

Keep buying a lottery ticket and you have only the same chance of millions to one each week with each individual ticket - in other words zilch! Keep writing articles and their power increases with each week. They don't expire the day after you wrote them, but continue to increase in their effectiveness.

Imagine if every lottery you bought was still active, and that each gave you more of a chance of winning the older it got! That's what articles do: all you have to do is to write them. Just like your lottery tickets - get through as many as you can in as fast a time as possible, and you will multiply your chances of online success.

So don't just sit back and wait for it to be your turn: do something about it, get writing and make that lottery mentality work for you in article writing: the best way yet to get free advertising for your website.

But there's a problem there, isn’t there? How to do it. There are bad ways, good ways and the best ways to write articles. Each may not be same to every person, and so a course on how to actually write the things wouldn't help too much. However, there are tricks and tips that you can use in your writing, and there are ways to get your articles not only distributed by all the directories you submit them to, but also read.

That's the important word: 'read'. There are ways to get your articles read, and here is just one simple tip:

Many people have short attention spans while others want a good read since they believe that the longer the article the more they will learn. You are the latter. However, in order to cater for the other 50% that prefer shorter articles, I have also submitted a 500 word non duplicate version of this 832 word article to all of the same directories. And why not? Submission is free and the writing only takes 15 minutes.

That's foresight, and one way of getting your article read by as many people as possible. There are more tips like this, but also some very fundamental principles that many never hear about, let alone learn. These are what you have to find out and learn in addition to getting that lottery ticket mentality in seeking success with articles.

--
Writing articles is one means of attaining high search engine rankings, and you should visit SEOcious to find out how to avoid the Lottery Mentality, and succeed through skill.
SEO Web Design Secrets: Search Engine Optimization Tips for Beginners

SEO web design is a skill that can be learned, though most search engine optimization for beginners courses dwell too much on linking strategy as opposed to web site design per se. There are many ways for most normal people to get an improved search engine ranking, and secure a high search engine listing, and while linking is important, good on-site SEO is also necessary.

Although it might not seem like it, getting a good listing on Google or any of the other search engines is not as difficult as many like to claim. There are rules to follow, and if you play the game properly then the outcome should be in your favour. The tips provided in this article are not really secrets as such; although many people offer to divulge marvelous secrets to you, all they are giving you is stuff that people have been using for years.

So you won't get any secrets here. I have nothing hidden away that I don't want anybody to know, and if I had I wouldn't tell you about it! Would you? If you had some secrets that were so valuable that they were making you money, would you give them away free in an article like this one? Of course you wouldn't!

So here are my not-so-secret tips on getting a good listing in Google and improving your search engine ranking. You likely know a fair bit about meta tags, and have been informed that most are not used by search engines. Well let me tell you something. If you 'Google' Article Services you will finds my website right at the top in the #1 position for that keyword. Check the description that Google provides right under the title: that is exactly as it is in the 'Description' tag that I have on the site. So don't let anybody tell you that Google don't use the Description tag, because they do. So do Ask and MSN (now Live Search), and Yahoo also uses it, but not the whole thing exactly as written.

The Keyword tag is another matter. Google aren't interested in what you tell them the keywords are: they decide the relevance of the page themselves from the text and Alt tags on the page. Google no longer need keyword repetition to understand what you are writing about: they have the LSI algorithm now, that will determine the meaning of your page from the character strings it contains. The algorithm is programmed to calculate a relevance factor from the vocabulary you use in relation to the rest of the vocabulary on the page. However, back to SEO web design, and some search engine optimization tips for beginners.

In addition to the Description meta tag, the HTML tags you should use are:

1. The Keywords meta tag. Although little used it only takes a second to put in, and does no harm. There is evidence that some search engines might use it. The rest of the meta tags are pointless.

2. The TITLE tag. This is the title of your web page, and should contain the primary keyword for the page. Each page should be written round one primary keyword that relates to the subject of your website or niche.

For example, if your niche is costume jewelry, the primary keyword for your home page would be 'costume jewelry'. You could then have a number of 'silos' with a main page title each. The title of one main silo page could be 'simulated diamonds' and the first page title of that silo could be 'garnets'. All of these are the primary keywords for their respective pages. Another silo could be 'colored gem stones', with that as the primary keyword for the main silo page, and that for your first sub-page in that silo could be 'citrine'. And so on.

Each page must have one primary keyword, and it should be included in the Title tag for that page. The Title tag does not appear in the body of the article, but in the HTML between the two HEAD tags in your html.

3. The H tag. These are heading tags, with H1 being the most important. The heading for each main section in your page should be contained within H1 tags, and many pages have only the one set of such tags. Subheadings, containing secondary keywords, should be contained within H2 tags, and so on. Thus, in the example above, the heading or your garnets silo could be could be 'Garnets in Costume Jewelry' in H1 tags.

After an introduction to garnets, you could then have an H2 heading containing 'The Source of Garnets: Where Garnets Come From', then another passage of text headed 'How Garnets are Cut for Costume Jewelry', again held in H2 tags.

4. The ALT attribute. Use 'Alt = ' within the Img tags of your images and graphics. This lets the search engines know what the graphic is about: search engines do not read graphics, and the Alt attribute offers you the chance to use your graphics meaningfully with respect to SEO web design.

TEXT FORMATTING

That's all you have to worry about regarding the HTML tags. You text formatting can be used to emphasize to search engines what the important text on your page is. Thus, if you use bold text, underscoring or italics, they indicate the important words and phrases. Thus, use the and html tags in your heading.

WRITE NATURALLY

Don't worry too much about your keyword density (KD), other than having to much. Too high a KD could harm you if Google thinks you are making unnecessary use of them. Write naturally for human readers, and not robots. If your text reads well and makes it clear what the subject of the passage is about, then you will be fine. In my writing I ignore the concept of KD altogether. I use my keywords as indicated above, and also in the first and last 100 characters on the page (or at least in the last paragraph somewhere).

Good SEO web design is not keyword fixated, but contains good contextually related vocabulary that the LSI algorithm can use to target the relevance of the page to the search term being used by somebody using the search engine to find information. That's all a keyword is: a term used by somebody looking for information. If you cannot work without a target KD, then I would go for a max of 1 not 3%)

None of these are web design secrets, and I doubt if there are any such secrets left any more. I suppose the only thing even approaching a secret here is that my description meta tag is copied exactly by Google in the listing for my #1 placed website. That allows you to determine how Google users see the description of your site in the listing.

I have several more SEO web design tips to offer, but these will be the subject of another article. In the meantime if you implement these search engine optimization tips for beginners, then you should soon see an improvement in your website's search engine ranking.

--

If you want more SEO web design tips, you will find Part 2 of this article with more search engine optimization tips for beginners on Seocious Tips 2 along with a free gift for everybody from me, Pete Nisbet of SEOcious.

Source: http://www.articletrader.com
