Flash cards have long been touted by leading educational researchers as the fastest and easiest way to learn and remember new information. Flash cards give you only the information that you need learn at that exact moment in time, allowing your brain to focus precisely on the card in front of you.

A main reason why study guides and books are ineffective is because there is just too much information being delivered. Research shows that in order for something to be learned effectively and stored in long term memory, you need to develop new short term memories that will eventually consolidate into your long term memory.

Children learn best with flash cards. That is why you see so many companies such as Baby Einstein and Dr. Seuss producing them. But, they can be bent, ripped, chewed on, and lost. And, they are expensive.

Apple's iPhone and iPod Touch are two new mobile devices that support applications such as flash cards. Children and adults alike are able to purchase a flash card application and start learning the material immediately. There are many different flash card decks available depending on the interest of the child. Children can choose from fruits and vegetables to musical instruments to learn about. The iPhone and iPod Touch are portable and the flashcards are affordably priced. Imagine having to purchase these decks at a bookstore. You would easily pay $10 per deck of flashcards. The great thing about the iPhone and iPod Touch applications are that they are updated automatically. At only 99 cents per deck of approximately 40 cards, your child will have a great time learning at a very affordable price.

Next time you’re on a road trip or standing in line with a toddler or young child, hand them your iPhone or iPod Touch and watch them learn something new. The photographs are beautiful and you as the parent get to choose the settings – randomize it for more variety or just let it go in alphabetical order. Turn on or turn off the voice and set the timer for a longer period if desired. Let your child focus on the items that you want them to learn without any other distractions.

--
Phyllis Cheung is a co-founder of Yoller.com – a mobile educational flash card and game company that specializes in mobile device development.
Your wedding. The most important day of your life. Your photographs are what you and your family will have to remember that day. Your wedding photographs get handed down from generation to generation.

When choosing a photographer make sure you go with a trusted professional. Look at several wedding albums, ask to see current stuff and feel free to ask for references.

If you’re looking for a wedding photographer in San Jose, you can also look for one in surrounding areas such as Atherton, Los Gatos and the surrounding Bay Area. Look for a photographer that matches your style, may it be traditional or a fresh, candid photojournalistic approach.

The main difference between traditional and photojournalism is the posing. Traditional photographs are posed with the bridal couple looking at the camera. Photojournalism captures moments as they happen, capturing looks and tender glances, expressions and funny moments before they disappear. People are natural looking and look like themselves. They are not stiff and uncomfortable.

Look for a wedding photographer that recognizes the fact that every bride wants stunning bridal portraits of herself and her groom. Your wedding photographer should create contemporary bridal portraits where the bride and groom are semi posed, in natural, comfortable poses, sitting or lying down. These photos showcase the bride and groom, but they do not look stiff or uncomfortable, but rather like they are having fun together.

Your wedding photographer should like to capture the personalities of the couple and their wedding party. Your photographs can tell a lot about who you are, they can tell the entire story of your day.

Brides today are very aware of current trends in photography. Look for a wedding photographer in San Jose that uses top notch post production skills to deliver elegant photographs in black and white, sepia, chocolate or an edgy cross processed look. Brides typically want 75 % of their pictures in color with the other 25% being black and white or sepia. Brown and white photographs are the current favorite, surpassing black and white. Brides feel it is new. The warm tone of the brown and white give a creamy look to all skin tones and is very flattering.

One last thing, look for a wedding photographer that also specializes in custom one-of-a-kind wedding album design. Albums artfully display their photographs. And also, look for a wedding photographer that truly listens to the couple and delivers a product that far exceeds their expectations.

--
Jeanine Brown has been creating beautiful wedding photographs for over ten years. I have the experience to ensure that you will get the photographs you want. My post production skills give your photographs that “finished” look you desire.
Wedding Photography Defined: Wedding Photographers in Orange County

As a bride, you only have, on average, 15 months to plan your wedding. During this short amount of time, you must become well versed in: traditional wedding photography vs. photojournalistic wedding photography, black and white photography vs. color vs. sepia toned prints, engagement photography, and much more. And, this is only for the photography portion of your wedding. Some may say that, after reception costs, you should spend the most amount on the photographer. Think about it this way...in 30 years, what tangible item will you really have from your wedding but your memories captured on film?

Traditional wedding photography or "classic" style photography has been around the longest and is falling out of favor with brides because it typically comprises of posed shots. Your photographer will usually follow a list of required shots: Bride and Groom, Groom and Dad, Groom and wedding party....you get the idea. Traditioanl photographers usually are quite talented in portraiture. Every detail will be in place and their subjects will look great Body alignment, lighting, dress details, and the background will be perfectly composed.

Wedding photojournalism has been extremely popular in the last few years. It aims to tell the story of the wedding through pictures. A good wedding photojournalist will be able to depict emotion and allow a stranger looking at your pictures to to feel as if they were at your wedding. The problem is, every photographer out there claims to be a wedding photographer specializing in photojournalism. If you are looking for a photojournalist to shoot your wedding, the most important thing to do is to look at their work. Ask yourself if you see and feel the emotion of the day. Ask them how many weddings they've photographed. A true professional has shot hundreds of weddings, not just 20-25. Also, don't expect them to be looking at a list of "required shots." You will want them to be behind the camera capturing all the details of the day. Would you prefer a picture of Aunt Bertha in a conga line or would you want one of her standing there with a forced smile?

Black and white photos, sepia, or color? Black and white photography is timeless and is making a comeback with brides. But, in the end, it really is up to you. With digital photography these days, your photographer can just as easily produce a color, black and white, or sepia toned image for you.

Engagement photography is a way for you to get to know your wedding photographer and a chance to get some great shots of you and your fiance before the big day. Get to know their shooting style and have a great time at a beautiful location of your choice. Engagement photography should be a stress free experience. The most important thing is to make sure that you have fun! It will definitely show in your pictures!

--
Marc Weisberg is an Orange County photographer specializing in wedding and family portraits.

Book Marc from this site and receive a complimentary montage print (a $200 value).
http://www.marcweisberg.com

Source: http://www.articletrader.com
