Have you ever felt that some of those people who didn't join your MLM business might actually be good people? That perhaps if they only knew what you know, they'd beg you to allow them to join? Is there a way to cross that gap?

Also make sure that the course provides solid value no matter what they do. Doing so will make them more willing to join your MLM business.

There will never be a time where prospects don't turn you down after a business presentation. However, with a solid system in place that teaches financial education, you can and will recapture some of these prospects. Often times, these recaptured prospects will end up to be some of the best business builders you recruit.

Pulling out of the driveway about an hour later you join your fellow labors on the commute to work, each of you trading time for money just trying to get by another day. Yet, you can't help but notice the house the house that never seems to join that commute. Not because that person is unemployed, but because he works for himself from home.

Most people, at one point or another, dream about working from home. Most people dream about being their own boss and never waking up to an alarm clock. Sadly, most have come to believe that the freedom of doing what you want, when you want, cannot be obtained without 30-40 years in the office. In today's economy, many wonder if it will be even longer.

Let's make one thing clear, if you believe that you cannot have lifestyle freedom without working 30-40 years, then you're right...for you. However, people break free every day. Step 1: Determine what it is you really want.

Once you've decided what this would do for you, put it into pictures. Find images online and print them out. Hang them on your bathroom mirror, put them in your car, and even put them where you will see them at work.

This cannot be stresses enough. If you cannot remain focused on why you want to work for yourself, you will not maintain the energy to follow through and actually do it.

Step 2: Decide if you want to be in business by yourself, or just for yourself.

If you're working for yourself, you'll be running some type of business. Even if it is contract work for a company, that is still your business.

There are two basic paths you can choose from as you go forward. You can be in business by yourself. In other words, no employees or other business partners. The business lives and dies on your efforts.

For many, this may be a solid option. However, there are two real drawbacks. One draw back is if you get sick or take time off, the business stops. Depending on the timing, this could destroy your business and income. The other problem is you can never leverage yourself. In other words, you can never increase your income beyond what you can personally produce. If Michael Dell was paid based only on the computers he could personally build, he would have a fraction of the money he has today.

The other option, be in business for yourself, means other people are still involved. Let's look at Michael Dell again. Dell has a huge network of people working for him building computers. That leverage allows thousands of computers to be built, and Dell earns money off of each one.

The same model can be followed by you. Many companies are growing and expanding and want to be partnered with you. You can enjoy working with a quality product that has already been created and has a sales system in place. You will also be encouraged to build a network of sales persons so you can get paid on sales that your whole team makes. This model will allow you to work for yourself, full time, in a matter of months.

"Hi Bob."

"Hi John. How was your summer?"

"Great we took an awesome vacation. How about you?"

"We went on vacation too. Where did you go," asked John.

"That's cool. Disney is awesome isn't it," proclaimed Bob.

"Sure."

"That all inclusive vacation you went on had to cost many times what ours did. How did your dad pay for it? What does he do?"

"He works from home."

"What?"

How had this happened? She swore this would never happen to her. Yet, the numbers didn't lie. She was on the verge of a financial collapse.

In the midst of her tears, she considered her options. She went online and read about an MLM home based business. As she learned more, hope started to return. She heard story after story of people who were where she was only a few years ago. Today, they have more money than they ever dreamed.

In the process you see and/or meet person after person who's making a lot of money. Then, in the small print, you read that almost everyone makes nothing. If family and friends know you're looking, they probably remind you of that fact often.

If you're unsure what to do, those numbers can be rather disheartening. You love the idea of making big money like the stories you hear, but you are afraid of being one of the 90% who don't make anything.

Why is it that some succeed in an MLM home based business while most fail miserably?

I've been running an MLM home based business for a while now, and I can tell you there are definite traits that successful people have as well as unsuccessful people. What's more, these are traits under your control. Therefore, if you really do want success in an MLM home based business, you can have it.

The first and most important "secret" is that successful people devote at least 10-15 hours a week to their business over a long period of time. Those who fail, 99% of the time, do not do this. Sometimes they work the 10-15 hours for a week or two before they stop, but most don't even go that far.

If you want success, you must first decide to work your business for 10-15 hours per week minimum. You must also be committed to doing this for no less than 1 year regardless of your MLM income.

In other words, you are prepared from day one to be working even if you've made nothing 9 months into the process. This may sound crazy to you, but this is the commitment successful people make before they ever start. The result? Those people end up making more money than they ever thought possible.

Another "secret" of successful people is they partner with other successful people and commit to training and personal development.

You didn't drive a car on the highway by yourself the first time, did you? You wouldn't fly a plane before going through flight training, would you? Why then would you expect to have success in an MLM home based business without first getting trained? Successful people understand that they must first get trained and continue to improve to have success. Those that fail, almost universally, act as if success should be automatic.

Perhaps what I've mentioned seems like common sense, but I've found that common sense is not so common.

Over the past months we've noticed some sagging and discoloration around the roof panels on the front of our house. Nothing serious we could see, but it did need to be addressed.

I did figure out that it was water damage and I made an attempt to seal the leak around the gutter. Several minutes after I started the work, I realized that this was out of my "scope of practice."

What did I do, I called a professional. What was the result? He knew to look for problems that I never would have thought of. He found them too.

After he completely removed all of the wood from the front part of the roof, he called me out to look at it.

My jaw dropped as I saw how it was all rotten completely through. I'm surprised it was still holding.

He then showed me why it happened. When the house was built just a few years ago, the builders failed to install a protective piece of aluminum that would keep the water away. The rear of the house had it and that portion is fine. However, the front did not and my once beautiful house is now a major eye sore in the neighborhood.

What does this have to do with you starting an MLM home based business?

Well, most people who want to start an MLM home based business look for the wrong things when getting started. Typically, they are most interested in the products and/or compensation plan.

Don't get me wrong, those are important. However, they are not what you should be looking for when getting started. Instead, you need to find successful people who have a systematic and duplicatable training system. In other words, you should be looking for competent help.

You see, most people start an MLM home based business having no business or marketing experience. That's okay. In fact, that's one of the things I love about this industry. People can grow and develop new skills. People from any walk of life have the opportunity for success.

That said, without proper training and systems, there is no hope of having success in an MLM home based business regardless of the products or compensation plan.

You can have the greatest product in the world, but if you don't know how to market it, you'll get nowhere.

Seek out people that have experience. People that have success. People that have a complete and duplicatable training and marketing system. When you find that, you have found the MLM home based business you are looking for.

You know the characters. Both are always day dreaming about a better life. A life free from work. A life free from debt. A life enjoyed with family.

Both go after their dreams, but in different ways.

Shortly after graduating college, the Workaholic was offered his "dream job." Nine to five with holidays off and two weeks vacation every year. The pay wasn't all that much to start, but there were miles above him on the corporate ladder. All he had to do was climb and a better life waited with each step.

The Loser took a similar job at a different company. The hours were a little different, eight to four. Other than that, you couldn't really tell the difference without reading the company name outside the office.

Day after day, they both climbed the ladder. Then, after a couple years, they both realized they were working 10 hours a day instead of 8.

The Workaholic pressed on. "If I only suck it up a few more years, I'll be at the top with the life I want for my family," said the Workaholic.

The Loser took another approach. He stopped climbing. Instead, he spent his evenings building a home based business.

When the Workaholic saw what the Loser was doing, he scorned him. "Those things never work! You're throwing your money away! You'll never amount to anything!" said the Workaholic.

The Loser was indeed hurt by those comments, but he pressed on. You see, at this point, the Workaholic was making more money than the Loser; but the Workaholic was also spending all his time at work.

A little while later, the Loser and his wife were at a school play. All the parents were there. Well, almost all of them.

The Loser found the Workaholic's wife and daughter. "Where is the Workaholic?" asked the Loser.

"Oh...he had to work...it's okay, I have a video tape for him. He said he thinks he'll be able to watch it sometime next week," said the Workaholic's wife. "How's that home based business thing of yours going?"

"Oh, it's okay. The Workaholic and I make about the same amount of money now."

"That's nice, but it must be hard to lose that money every time you take a week off, right?"

"I don't lose it. I get paid even if I don't work."

"Well, enjoy it while it lasts. My husband is working for a solid income and pension. In the end, those home business things never work, Loser."

The years went by and the differences kept getting larger and larger.

The Loser retired young...very young. In fact, his children were not yet in high school when he retired.

The Loser also had more money coming in than almost everyone in the town. The Loser was able to spend as much time with his family as he wanted, and enjoy life on his own terms.

The Loser was the primary contributor to multiple charities that he supported. Throughout town, he was know and the most generous man to ever live in Anytown.

The Workaholic kept climbing. He missed his children growing up. He wasn't there when they had school performances. He wasn't there when they had birthday parties. He almost missed their graduation.

Every step of the way he was promised a better life, so he kept climbing. Yet, every step made him more a slave to his job.

Even when he was overloaded and spending over 12 hours a day at the office, he couldn't stop. If he did, he'd be fired. Then what would he do?

Sadly, the pension he was promised never came. The economy took a down turn, or so he was told. The few years of financial security he had sacrificed his life for ended up an illusion.

It wouldn't matter much. The Workaholic had pushed himself so hard that he had only a short time left. When he realized his life was ending, all he could think about was how he never really knew his family. He missed all the important events in his children's lives.

Where I live, we're not at $5 per gallon yet, but we're not too far from it either. Just the sight of the cost for a gallon of gas is enough to make someone want to vomit.

Why are oil prices so high? Well, it's because of the economy or we don't drill enough or big oil is gouging the prices or this, that, or the other.

Look, here's the bottom line. Why are gas prices so high? The correct answer is, "Who cares!" At this point the only question you should be asking yourself is, "What am I going to do about it?"

You have no control over the daily price of oil. However, you do have control over how much money you make.

True, your boss may have you on a set salary, but this is America. You can choose to increase your income via other means than your job. You can choose to make more money by working from home.

The advantage of working from home is quite simple. You make more money without being dependent on a job or a boss who will set your salary. You set your own hours allowing you to decide when you make more money and when you don't.

Of course, the greatest advantage of making more money from home is that it costs you no money for gas. If you find a part time job, you are going to lose a lot of that money to other expenses like $5 per gallon gas. If you make more money from home, your commute is a 10 second walk to your computer.

True, you still need to market and advertise and who knows what else. Again, you have the edge here.

How many places on earth can you reach with the internet? All of them.

How much does it cost to reach someone thousands of miles away on the internet? Nothing.

If you spend no money reaching people and no money driving to a place or work or business, how much of the money you bring in do you get to keep? All of it.

So, again, it really doesn't matter why oil prices are so high. All that really matters, for you, is what you are going to do about it. You can stay on your current course and drown as oil prices go up. Or you can make more money from home and compensate for oil prices that you cannot control.
