Whenever body and mind are united, it’s like money in the bank for future stress times. Let me explain. Right now, are you aware of your toes, elbows, breath, temperature, etc? If you can include this background awareness as you read these words, you are present in your body. That is, your mental awareness includes the physical body, as well as your surroundings. You are conscious. You are awake to every emotion, sensation, and are thus present with whatever is present with you. You are free of stress.

It’s easy to be present with yourself, a flower, someone else. Not so easy to stay present. But here’s the good news. The longer you are aware, as a “watcher” of what you are saying and feeling, you not only are in the present moment, but your immune system is strengthened. You are also protected from the separation thoughts, the pro and con opinions of others’ force fields.

What a boon! As far as I know, there is no scientific proof of this. As always, you will need to prove it for yourself, by remembering, frequently, that you are a silent Presence in a breathing body. Then notice the decrease in illnesses. That’s all the proof you need!

What Are We Missing?

If I held up a white piece of paper with a large black dot in the center and asked you, “What is this?” Chances are you’d say, “A black dot.” You’d be right, but only half right. The other half, going unnoticed of course, is the white paper. This is just a simple example of how our culture focuses on form, images, material objects, things that are manifest; but ignores the unmanifest. In this way, we miss fifty percent of life.

Without space there would be no form. The nothingness between objects is delineated because space is there. Every object or person has come from space, or nothing. It is surrounded by nothing and within it is nothing. There is a lot of space within us and between stars, or atoms themselves.

Space is a doorway to enter the present moment. Think about it. What happens when you withdraw your attention away from things, objects, or events and place it on space, or emptiness, or nothing? Becoming aware of the space surrounding and infusing all things brings us to Presence.

In this present moment, our awareness is filled with Presence, or the energy field of Love. Whenever we are fully present, our immune system functions perfectly, toward better health.

May Peace and Love and Oneness awaken in every man, woman, and child on earth. May there be peace on earth.

Are you thinking of getting married? Or know someone who is? The unusual variety of select places that abound around the meadows, forests -- yes, even in the snow on the mountain itself makes McCloud, Dunsmuir, Mt. Shasta City, and Weed the very best place. An example was a wedding on the upper snowy slopes on New Year’s Day, with bright blue sky, the bride and groom, two witnesses, the Reverend, and a boom box playing Pacabel Cannon.

In choosing the sacred ceremony, the bride and groom may add or subtract verses of choice. Both meet with me for about an hour sometime before the wedding day. A profound experience is usually felt by participants who can honestly tell each other truths about their relationship.

There are many beautiful spots to choose from. Mt. Shasta Resort is a favorite, for both outdoor and indoor weddings. Here is one of the best views of the mountain for your background. Often our Bed & Breakfasts are set up for weddings. Then there are lakes (I've done a ceremony on a raft on Castle Lake) and, of course, the mountain itself has infinite nooks, hideaways, brooks and meadows.

If there is one or more children who will join with a new parent coming into the family, A Joining Ceremony is held for all, before the wedding itself, thus giving the newcomers a welcoming that perhaps could save hours of family therapy later.

The fee for all this? Whatever gratuity you choose, knowing that you are investing in your marriage…it all comes back to you! Delight in the splendor of Mt. Shasta, as well as in the many exciting adventures you will share together; not as one, but as the pillars of a temple stand apart, supporting the roof together, so shall you.

Thousands of us are awakening to discover it for ourselves. This powerful knowledge, when applied, is enough to transform our planet into the peace on earth we all say that we want. It even transforms my life--and yours, too.

It's simple. Too simple, some will say. Yet, in all its simplicity, it is difficult to comprehend intellectually, and far more difficult to BECOME this secret every day. At first, as with any new idea, the automatic response is, "That's nonsense." As we begin to practice this secret we begin to hope it is so. This is followed by an attitude of "Let's see if it can be done." Then it IS done. “Why wasn't this done long ago?”

Here's the key concept, developed in my own words:

There is only one God--one Energy Field, one Great Spirit, Allah, Power for Good, in all creation. This Power is Love, which delights in individualizing Itself in many forms, the most diverse, the better. We can use this Power. My on-going thoughts and attitudes produce my environment.

All ancient wisdoms taught that God is All There Is, in different words. In every religion, God, or Love, expresses Truth. In all religions, philosophies--yes, even science--this One offers Himself/Herself/Itself in different ways. There is no separation between all the religions! There can be no separation between races, nations and neighborhoods, for Energy, or God, does not separate, cannot divide. God creates by uniting.

As I realize this more each day, I continue to expand my circle of love to include more and more people and ideas, no matter how weird or destructive. "He closed his circle to keep me out, but I expand my circle to bring him in," is an old, true quote. We have an assignment, folks. We are here to create heaven on earth, wherever we are in our daily lives.

There is no separation. We are all made of "star stuff." We are all One. Why not give unity consciousness a chance and get about our business?
