Unlike Vista, which included a number of new applications and an entirely different look and feel than earlier operating systems, Windows 7 is meant to be fully compatible with all aspects of Vista. Some upgrades do make Windows 7 preferable to both Windows XP and Vista, but some aspects are better in the older versions. The time to boot up and shut down the system as well as the speed at which documents and other files open are much improved in Windows 7. But, tasks like video editing remains just as slow as they do in XP and Vista.

While there are new features that are part of Windows 7, the Microsoft team placed much emphasis on ensuring that users would not have major compatibility issues when making the switch. They seemed to have learned their lesson from the difficulties that arose when people moved from Windows XP to Vista. One of the new features includes advances in handwriting recognition, a huge advantage for those who can write faster than they type. The Control Panel has some new additions as well including a color calibration wizard, troubleshooting, and biometric devices. The Windows Security Center has a new name, the Windows Action Center, which houses both security settings as well as computer maintenance.

The changes that will be most noticeable to the average user are those made to the task bar. The Quick Launch toolbar is no longer, and has been replaced by pinning applications to the task bar. Applications that are `pinned` to the task bar are then easily accessible by buttons that become part of the task bar. The set-up of the new task bar allows for easy re-organization and re-ordering of the items on the bar to suit user preference.

Another very useful new feature is called `Aero Peek`. Hovering the mouse over the Aero Peek button, located on the task bar, immediately renders all open windows transparent so that there is a clear view of the desktop. A simple click on the button automatically minimizes all the open windows and a second click brings them all back.

Consumer reception of Windows 7 has been positive thus far. In the first eight hours that pre-orders were being accepted, demand for Windows 7 surpassed that of the demand for Windows Vista in its first 17 weeks of availability. If that is any indication, Windows 7 is a marked improvement over Vista. Early reviews of the operating system confirm that it is an improvement based on the fewer compatibility problems, the redesigned task bar, and faster start-up.

It is not all good news however, as a major concern about Windows 7 is the hefty price tag. It seems, however, that it is worth the price, especially for those users of Vista, which is known to have some difficulties. Vista users who are upgrading to Windows 7 can install the new system directly on top of Vista, while those who are moving from XP will have to reinstall all of their applications.

Overall, the improvements provided by Windows 7 seem to make it worth the price and potential hassle to upgrade.

--
You can have access to articles about computers in portuguese language from page Computer

Roberto Sedycias works as IT consultant for Polomercantil

Source: http://www.articletrader.com

Taking The World By Storm: Blackberry Storm 2

The original version of the Storm was Blackberry`s answer to the iPhone and was the first Blackberry to have a touch screen. But, unlike the smooth touch screen experience provided by the iPhone and other smart phones, the Storm`s touch screen was not easy to use, there were many software glitches, it was not wi-fi compatible, and trying to type proved very frustrating for most users.

The Storm 2 has a similar look to its predecessor, but that should not fool the user into thinking that it too is not worth considering. The overall user experience with the Storm 2 is significantly better. The software has been majorly improved, it is wi-fi accessible, and the display has been revamped.

The touch screen on the Storm 2 is much more user friendly. Users can now feel a gentle vibration when the screen is touched, but it does also make a clicking sound that cannot be turned off. So trying to discreetly use the phone while in a meeting may not be so easy.

There are several different keyboard layout options so that users can choose their preference. Unlike in the previous version, the QWERTY keyboard is now available in portrait mode, and while it is quite small in this mode, it just takes a little bit of getting used to and then it is easy to use. While the typing experience is still not as smooth as on the iPhone, it is worlds better than on the original Storm.

Because all other Blackberries do not have touch screens and the Storm 2 runs the same Blackberry operating system, users may get the sense that it was not quite designed for a touch screen phone. More clicks than should be necessary often are required and the structure of folders is not particularly intuitive. It is also easy to accidentally click on items.

The speed of the interface and the scrolling features also cannot be compared to the original Storm as they are very significantly improved. Again, scrolling is not as smooth as it is on the iPhone, but it is much more pleasant than on the older Storm. The phone works much more quickly and the web browser loads pages faster and allows for an easier time navigating to different pages. There are still several glitches, however, and clicking on links and managing several open pages at once are still difficult to accomplish.

It remains unclear why the original Storm did not come with wi-fi access, but the problem has been corrected with the Storm 2. It also includes built in GPS, always a useful tool. For those who want to use their Storm 2 as an mp3 player, it has headphone jacks and easily syncs with iTunes.

Of course, true to Blackberry`s strong suit, the email capabilities on the Storm 2 are sublime. This phone is a good choice for those who are big fans of the Blackberry operating system, but who also favor the touch screen style of the iPhone.

--
You can have access to articles about cell phone in portuguese language from page Cell_Phone

Roberto Sedycias works as IT consultant for Polomercantil

Source: http://www.articletrader.com

Perfume: Some Things Never Change

Although it is hard to imagine, there was a time when personal hygiene was not what it is today. Lack of electricity and hot water made bathing a luxury that people could not afford to do on a regular basis. Wardrobes were not as extensive as they are today and people wore the same thing for days or weeks on end. Washing machines had yet to be invented, so even when the garments were washed, it was through a rudimentary system that did not result in clothing that smelled `spring fresh`.

Apparently, despite the fact that everyone probably did not smell so fresh and clean, there was still an expectation that women in particular should not smell unpleasant. Different ointments and mixtures of herbs and fragrances were mixed together and used by women to hide any disturbing body odors. Rather than just masking the bad smell, these early stage perfumes actually gave off a nice smell.

Over time, the chemistry behind the creation of perfumes changed and evolved and developed with advances in science. Manufacturing companies began to mass produce perfume in all different scents. As time continued to pass, celebrities and major designers began to commission perfumes named after themselves. The type of perfume worn by women became a particular status symbol.

The belief and expectation that women are meant to smell nice has persisted until today. Without that commonly accepted practice, the perfume industry would not be as booming as it is with new fragrances being introduced constantly. Now, putting on perfume is, for many women, just part of their daily beauty routine. It is often the last step in the process; after the shower and the putting on deodorant and getting dressed and applying make-up. The last thing to do before heading out the door is a spritz of perfume. It is the final touch before the woman is ready to start her day and face the world.

For many women, the act of putting on perfume is not noteworthy. As mentioned, it is just another step in the beauty regimen. But, or those who take a moment to think about why they are putting it on, they may be transported back to a time long ago, a time when women were expected to smell a certain way and to act a certain way. Somehow, although women`s traditional roles have changed over time, the fact that women are expected to smell a certain way has not changed.

The women`s liberation movement and the advent of feminism removed a lot of barriers to women in terms of their role in the world outside the home as well as their role inside the home. It is no longer a given that men go out and earn a living and bring home the food while the women remain at home taking care of the children and preparing the food. It is no longer a given that women must wear stockings and high heels every time they leave the house. In fact, it is quite common to see women dressed casually in yoga pants and a sweatshirt while out and about.

It does seem, however, that no matter what a woman is wearing or no matter what she is doing, she is still trying to meet the expectation of smelling nice.

--
You can have access to articles about perfume in portuguese language from page Perfume

Roberto Sedycias works as IT consultant for Polomercantil

Source: http://www.articletrader.com

Iphone 3GS: Should You Believe The Hype?

A major upgrade made in this new version relates to the speed, which has doubled from the previous version. Whether you want to launch an application, open a web page, or download an attachment from your email, you will not be standing there counting the seconds as you wait.

As the iPhone is meant to be so much more than just a phone, Apple has worked hard to make sure that the other features are outstanding. The video capability is one area amongst many in which Apple has certainly succeeded. Not only does the phone allow you to film high quality video, but there is no need to transfer it to your computer because you can edit it directly on the iPhone itself. If you would rather take still pictures, the iPhone`s camera is easy to use and will produce great quality pictures. You can easily post your videos or still pictures to the web or email them to your contacts.

Speaking of contacts, you do not need to scroll through your list of contacts in order to call someone, but rather you can just use the iPhone`s voice control system and speak a name and automatically call them. The same feature can be used for your music collection; just say the name of a song and it will play. It does not get much simpler than that!

The useful features of the iPhone do not end there. For those who may not have the best sense of direction, the iPhone`s Compass feature is there to help. The application can be used to help orient you to a new city or help you find new things in your own city. No matter where you are, you will never be lost as long as you have your iPhone with you. And, if you should happen to misplace your iPhone, its handy `Find my iPhone` feature will help you locate it. Access the web from any computer and see a map showing you the location of your phone. If it turns out you left it in a taxi or a restaurant or somewhere far away, you can lock it remotely so that no one can access your information or use the phone until you can get to retrieve it.

In addition to the above described unique features of the iPhone, it does also of course do many of the same things that other mobile phones do. It just does many of them better. Take texting, for example. It is sometimes so much easier to just send a quick SMS rather than making a phone call and having to have an entire conversation. The iPhone`s large screen and easy to use keyboard makes it easy to see the whole conversation and easily add to it. You can also include pictures, video or contact information directly into text messages that you send. It is easy to forward conversations as well for the times that you must share the latest business news or gossip.

With each new version of the iPhone, Apple continues to live up to the original hype and provide more for its customers to love.

--
You can have access to articles about cell phone in portuguese language from page Cell_Phone

Roberto Sedycias works as IT consultant for Polomercantil

Source: http://www.articletrader.com

In today`s busy world, people live and work differently than they did mere decades ago. Businesspeople and teenagers alike feel a constant need to be in touch with colleagues and friends. Whether it is keeping up with the stock market or finding out who asked who out on a date, the exchange of information is always flowing and no one wants to be left out of it.

Smart phones provide the solution for people who need to be in touch while they are on the go. The devices generally have phone call capability as well as a built-in organizer/calendar functionality, web browsing ability and email and texting applications. Many smart phones can run word processing and spreadsheet software, allowing a user to have a virtual office literally in the palm of his or her hand.

The options are wide and varied in terms of features and price. A selection of top Smart Phone choices include: Apple iPhone 3GS, Motorola Droid, HTC Touch Pro2, Blackberry Bold 9700 and the Palm Pre. They have some shared features and each has its own unique attributes.

Some see Apple`s iPhone as the ultimate Smart Phone. Many people eagerly anticipated the original version`s entrance to the market and Apple did not disappoint. The 3GS, the newest version, is worth its price tag. It is very slim and lightweight and has an attractive looking touchscreen with large icons. Everything you could need is at your fingertips, from a calendar to your email to a variety of other applications that can be downloaded easily. On the downside, there have been complaints about call quality and access to the 3G network.

The Motorola Droid is a strong competitor to the iPhone, running on Google`s Android platform as opposed to Apple. The Droid has a touch screen as well as a full QWERTY keyboard, which may be easier for some people to use. The Droid is slightly larger and heavier than the iPhone, but it surpasses the iPhone in terms of call quality and picture quality on the screen.

The HTC Touch Pro is larger and heavier than the iPhone and the Droid and is also more expensive. It is more appropriate and useful for the business user as it runs Windows Mobile and comes with conference call management tools. It also has a high-quality and large touch screen as well as a pop-out QWERTY keyboard. Unlike the Droid`s keyboard which some have found unwieldy to use, the HTC Touch Pro`s keyboard manages to have enough space between the keys to make typing very easy. The phone provides excellent call quality and is a great solution for the businessperson on the go.

The Blackberry Bold complements Blackberry`s line of smart phones and adds a little more style to their selection with its sleeker design. Because the keyboard is part of the main body of the phone rather than a pop-out, the screen on the Blackberry Bold is obviously smaller than that of the iPhone, Droid or HTC Touch Pro. It is a question of personal preference, as some people would rather sacrifice the screen size for the convenience of having the keyboard always accessible. While Blackberry users are generally satisfied with the products, the web browser lags behind that of the other smart phones in terms of ease of use.

Finally, there is the Palm Pre, which has been hyped as another major competitor to the iPhone. The Palm Pre is smaller than the iPhone but with a similar look in terms of a simple touch screen. The screen provides a very high quality picture and is easy to navigate. For those that prefer the keyboard experience, there is a QWERTY keyboard that is easily accessible, although small and not so easy to use. Where the Palm Pre stands out over other smart phones is in its multi-tasking capability. It is simple to run several applications at once and easy to switch back and forth among them.

The choices are limitless when it comes to choosing a Smart Phone. As with most things, it is all about personal preferences and finding the one that has the features that best suit you.

--
You can have access to articles about cell phone in portuguese language from page Cell_Phone

Roberto Sedycias works as IT consultant for Polomercantil

Source: http://www.articletrader.com

Lead Your Own Way

Some people are born with the innate ability to lead and to lead well. Others may have to work harder to find it, but that ability does lie within each individual. It just may take work for some people to find it and bring it out. Born leaders by nature have more self-confidence and higher self-esteem. To bring out leadership qualities in yourself, first you must build confidence in your own abilities.

If you want to take on a leadership role for the first time, it is best to start small. Volunteer to lead a small group on a project at work, for example. Or choose to head a committee at your child's school. Often the first step to becoming a good leader is to get over the fear of being in charge. As the leader, people will look to you for answers. Even if you are not one hundred percent sure of what the answers are, you have to give off a certain amount of confidence in order to gain the trust of the group.

It is best to volunteer to head a project in an area in which you have some experience or expertise. Imagine that your child's school wants to run a used book sale in order to raise money to build a new library. Also imagine that you work at a popular bookstore. You know all about selling books, so chairing this project is a perfect fit for you. Despite the fact that you may not have ever led a committee before, you are still bringing powerful knowledge. Your knowledge in the field should give you confidence that you can best lead this group to raise the funds successfully.

Realizing that you have the skills necessary to lead the group is the first step. Second, is volunteering to lead the group and sharing the information that makes you qualified. Again, exuding confidence is crucial at this point because no one will follow a leader who does not seem to know what he or she is talking about or doing. There is a difference, however, between confidence and arrogance. It is one thing to show that you are confident in your ability to run a successful program but you should still maintain a degree of humbleness. It is perfectly acceptable, and even preferable, to say that you believe you could do a good job leading the project, but that you will require the help of the other committee members and that you will value their input and ideas as well.

A good leader always takes into account the strengths and weaknesses of the committee members and ensures that everyone working on a particular project feels an amount of ownership and accountability for the project. To be an effective leader, you not only need to have the confidence in yourself but also in those on your team. You need to know when to delegate and which jobs you really should do yourself because of your expertise. In the case of the used book sale, you would want to use your bookstore experience to design the lay-out of the sale or possibly to price the books. But you may want to delegate the task of creating flyers and advertising to someone on the committee who has that kind of expertise.

A very important and major component of leadership is delegation and knowing when and to whom to delegate the key tasks. You need to know yourself and your own abilities first in order to do so effectively. In short, you need to know how to lead yourself before you can lead others.

--
You can have access to articles about self help in portuguese language from page Self_Help

Roberto Sedycias works as IT consultant for Polomercantil

Source: http://www.articletrader.com

Ebooks: Which Reader Is Best?

Each ebook reader has its own advantages and disadvantages, and depending on your preferences, there is something for everyone. They key advantage to all readers is that they allow you to easily download books that you can read on the go wherever you may be.

The Amazon Kindle is probably the most well-known of the ebook readers. Amazon has recently introduced the Kindle 2, the newest version of its ebook reader. An attractive feature of the Kindle 2 is its sleek and slim design that allows it to be truly portable. It hardly takes up any room at all in one's purse or briefcase. Another advantage of the Kindle 2 is its ability to connect wirelessly to the Amazon store using Whispersync technology. This technology allows users to download books wherever they are, even if there is no wi-fi connection. With storage capacity of 1500 books, the Kindle will ensure that an avid reader is never without new material. At $259, the Kindle is one of the most reasonably priced ebook readers on the market.

The Sony Reader RPS-700 is more expensive than the Kindle by about $100 and only holds up to 350 titles. Of course, it is not likely that the average reader would really need to store more than that many books at any given time. Also, unlike the Kindle, the Sony Reader must be attached to a computer in order to download additional books, taking away some of the convenience of being able to get new reading material on a whim. This higher priced reader does also have several significantly useful features, including an LED backlight that allows you easily to read your ebooks wherever you are and whatever the lighting.

The IRex Digital Reader is priced significantly higher than many other ebook readers and is primarily focused on the business market, rather than on individual consumers who would purchase an ebook reader for personal use. Users of the IRex tend to like its touchscreen which is larger than that of other readers. It also has an easy interface for annotating and highlighting text, a feature that is more useful when it comes to reading business-related texts as opposed to reading a book for pleasure.

The COOL-ER is one of the least expensive ebook readers on the market today, but it serves its purpose well for those who are looking for an easy way to bring their reading material on the go. It weighs even less than the Kindle and is very easy to throw in a bag and bring anywhere, but it is not as easy to use as the Kindle or the Sony. On the positive side, the COOL-ER suits the more style-conscious reader as it comes in a variety of colors.

Finally, the Aztak Easy Reader seems like it may be the Kindle's strongest competitor, although it is more expensive at over $300. It weighs less (although it weighs more than the COOL-ER) and has similar storage capacity and similar user-friendly features and navigation.

In summary, there are plenty of options when it comes to choosing an ebook reader and it should not be too hard to find the right one for you.

--
You can have access to articles about ebooks in portuguese language from page Ebooks

Roberto Sedycias works as IT consultant for Polomercantil

Source: http://www.articletrader.com

Players can experience this game on their platform of choice, as versions of the game are available for the Xbox, Wii and Playstation as well as for a regular PC. As in the first version, the game has excellent graphics that give the user a true-to-life feel. The game menu is based around an RV that the user `drives` around the world, choosing the race locations.

As with most racing games, there are several different modes of play and users can pick their preference. At the core of the game is Career Mode in which players begin as a race car driver who is just starting out and slowly (or quickly) move up the ranks to become a true champion. The progression occurs as races are completed and won. There are prizes to be won along the way, and new tracks and locales open up as a player progresses through the game.

Users can also choose from six levels of difficulty, but choosing a harder level does not necessarily ensure a faster move up the ranks. Eventually, all users will make it so the difficulty level is more a matter of preference and how challenged a user prefers to be.

One of the much-lauded features of DiRT 2 is the large selection of racing venues and locales from which to choose. The graphics are outstanding, making everything look realistic from the tiny villages in remote areas of Morocco to the winding hillsides in China.

Users are also given a choice of cars and the game experience differs based on the type of car chosen, much as a real race track would feel different in a rally car as opposed to a monster truck. The handling of the different types of vehicles differs and the rally cars provide the smoothest ride for users, while the trucks are a little bit more difficult to control.

There are some cool tricks built into the game, which allow users to take some actions that would certainly not happen in a real-life race. For example, the `Flashback` feature allows a user to stop a race in the middle, watch a replay of the last several seconds and then move back to an earlier point in the race. This is a great feature to help users avoid a particular obstacle without having to go back and start the race all over again. A certain number of `flashbacks` are allowed depending on the level of difficulty that the user has chosen for the game.

For those players who prefer to play with friends or as part of a crowd, DiRT 2 allows for playing with others online. Up to seven people can play together as part of the same race allowing for friendly competition among friends.

Overall, the game ranks high in all major categories. The presentation and graphics are of the highest quality. Solid and realistic gameplay is provided and it takes long enough to move through the levels to provide hours of entertainment. The one small downside that users have complained about is that the sound effects are not quite up to par. The car noises are realistic, but the accompanying music is not particularly appealing.

If the sound effects are the one minor downside, you can always turn down the volume and put on your own music and enjoy the rest of the game!

--
You can have access to articles about video game in portuguese language from page Video_Game

Roberto Sedycias works as IT consultant for Polomercantil

Source: http://www.articletrader.com

There are many qualities that make a great yoga video and most people would agree on what they are. Still, some videos don`t pass the test when put through the ringer with yoga fans. Which make it hard to decide what is hot and what is not when you`re looking for top yoga DVDs for beginners.

If you have decided to take up the task of yoga but do not necessarily want to try it in a class with other people around, then you need to know what to look for in a video. And just because you have decided not to do it at a yoga place, doesn`t mean that you should compromise on yoga quality and technique. There are specific things you should look for in top yoga DVDs.

The first thing you should look for is that it offers variety in its program. Does it come with more than one DVD? If not maybe inside there are multiple components to the exercise. You will want to choose one that offers variety in the routine and challenges you to the next level. So that when you are using the DVDs that you can try different things to keep yourself challenged.

The next thing you might want to consider is if the video offers varying ways to do the yoga moves. Are there easy and more challenging steps in the sequences? And does the video offer alternate poses and pose adjustments? Those may be things you will find important when you are doing your routine. Another key element in a great video is doing the yoga teachers demonstrate everything they are talking about. Do they show how it is done step by step and slowly, do they put it in words and have it written for extra clarification. The clearer a DVD is, the more likely you will be able to follow it and do it properly.

If you are doing poses in the wrong way, you could injure your body, or simply be doing poses that have little effect. And the last thing to consider is that yoga videos even when there for beginners are still challenging. Most yoga users are already somewhat fit and have some knowledge of exercise. They will be tricky, but not impossible. Just be prepared to go into the video knowing that and you won`t be disappointed. Think of it as a challenge that you can do! Just combine yoga with another exercise to build up on endurance.

Some top yoga DVDs for beginners to mention are `Power Yoga - Total Body Workout with Rodney Yee`, this video provides detoxifying heat to promote inner strength and stamina. Another video is called `Yoga Express - 4 Short Yoga Workouts` this video is great for people new to yoga because the sessions are short and rewarding. `Yoga Journal - Step by Step Session` with Natasha Rizopoules, is a great video because it claims to be for all levels and that it contains variety to keep boredom away.

When you do finally find a video you like on yoga, remember to keep at it. You might find it frustrating or find it hard to get motivated, but just try and fit it into your routine and give yourself time. With practice the poses will become easier and you will notice yourself whipping into shape.

--
You can have access to articles about health in portuguese language from page Health

Roberto Sedycias works as IT consultant for Polomercantil

Source: http://www.articletrader.com

Motivation involves strong mind power. It is believed that anything can be achieved using the tools of the mind! This involves using positive thinking and will power to motivate you toward a goal. In your lifetime you will you have many goals to aspire and challenges to overcome, it is important to make sure that you keep motivated in order to live life to its fullest!

There are some key tips to follow when you`re trying to get motivated. And these guidelines vary, which means that some might work for you and others will not. It is important to find out what skills you can use and which ones to not bother with, so that you can begin your climb toward achieving the motivation that you want!

Positive thinking is one of the key elements to getting motivated. This tool can be used in every situation. It is common when faced with a problem or challenge to think negatively about it. Usually it is the first thing that pops into the head, which makes it hard to think about it in a positive light. However, when you are faced with a concern, immediately find a positive about it. And it can be something minute, but just find it and focus on it. For example; someone who loses a job will obviously immediately focus on the negative impact; possible loss of house, car, lifestyle. Those are horrible thoughts that if left focused on, could over take your thinking and create a spin of negative thoughts and feelings. A way to detour the negative thinking is to replace the bad thoughts with good ones.

Positive thoughts that could out way the negative ones in this situation would be; find a better job, use all resources, find yourself (quick so you can get back to looking for a job!), think about what you actually want to do! Some people when they lose a job will begin to think about what it is in life that they really want. Perhaps they have been in the same field for ten years or more, it may be just the thing to plan on returning to school or changing fields. Even if lifestyle changes have to be made to accommodate your new career, such as moving into an apartment or with relatives, your family will know that you are doing it for the long term and no one will judge you. Positive thinking can be used in all aspects of life, just replace a negative with a positive.

To get motivated toward something you want to do, keep it small at first. Many people for example when they are trying to diet will try to do it all at once. This unrealistic plan can lead to failure. If small steps are initially taken such as cutting out the chocolate for a week and then leaving out the junk food for another week, the small steps might just add up to the ultimate goal of weight loss. Small successes are important to keeping yourself motivated.

It is also not a bad idea to give yourself rewards for staying motivated. Kids get rewards all the time, but what about adults? And why is it wrong to reward ourselves? If you have worked out all week and feel great about it, why not buy something for yourself as a treat? Or even have that cupcake you have been eyeing at the bakery? Rewards are a great way to keep you happy!

Motivation can be achieved and conquered...it`s all in the way you think and feel about it!

--
You can have access to articles about self help in portuguese language from page Self_Help

Roberto Sedycias works as IT consultant for Polomercantil

Source: http://www.articletrader.com
