What is Sore Feet - Foot Pain: Sore feet is a very common problem that effects millions accross the planet Earth, making simple things such as standing, walking, running, or working, almost a nightmare, because of the pain and discomfort involved.

What causes Sore Feet - Foot Pain: The most frequent cause of heel or arch pain is plantar fasciitis. This is inflammation of the plantar fascia, the tissue that runs along the bottom of the foot. A symptom is sharp pain in the arch when getting up in the morning or after prolonged inactivity. Wearing shoes with little arch or heel support, too much physical activity, going barefoot and being overweight all can contribute to the condition. People with flat feet or with very high arches that flatten when they stand up are at higher risk for foot pain problems.

Sore Feet - Foot Pain - Symptoms: Foot pain can start after you have stood for a long time, or while walking or working. My feet got so bad that they ached day and night. At work I got to the point where I could hardly walk, and when I rested they continued aching for a long time. The pain got so severe it threatened my job, my family activities and almost everything that I enjoyed doing. The first symptoms are often what feels like a burning or hot foot, this often occurs before developing into a foot pain problem.

Sore Feet - Foot Pain - Treatment: The first step in treating foot pain is usualy to take a trip to the local store and buy some inserts, like Doctor Shoals. If you foot pain continues, visit a podiatrist. The podiatrist may give you a shot of 'cortizone' in the foot to stop the pain, or he/she may recommend that you have custom 'orthotic inserts' made. There are numerous creams and rub's you can also try, but I never had any real relief with them, it seemed they warmed or heated the skin or made my feet smell good, but the creams etc never penetrated the skin or made it's way to the inflamed areas. Also, you may be placed on medication to relieve the pain if it's severe.

Sore Feet - Foot Pain - Prevention: Treat your feet good and they will probably be good to you. Buy and wear shoes that are not only comfortable but ones that have arch support and cushioning. If the shoes are hard to walk on or provide little cushioning, buy some inserts like Doctor Shoals. The biggest factor I found in my battle with foot pain is weight. If you are overweight you are asking for foot pain.

Sore Feet - Foot Pain: My Personal Story and solutions - I have worked at the same job site since 1978, and my job requires constant walking and standing all day, and the floors are hard where I work, just tile over concrete. My feet started aching over time, at first I hardly noticed it. I would finish my day at work, and notice my feet were kinda sore. Over the next year or so, by the end of the day my feet were aching bad by the end of the work day. I started looking around for different types of shoes and sneakers, and started buying inserts. The new shoes and inserts worked fine for a few months or so, then the pain started coming back, and got much worse.

I made an appointment to see a local podiatrist. The first thing my podiatrist did was take some xrays of my feet, what came back was not pretty. She showed me where my feet had large areas that showed up very white on the film. She said all of this was areas that were inflammed and painful, and she was right, by this time I could barely walk.

The next thing my podiatrist did was measure my feet and made plaster casts. From these castings she ordered special inserts for my shoes 'orthotic inserts'. These were not cheap, this was almost 10 years ago, and they costed around $300 for the pair. A couple weeks later my orthopedic inserts arrived, they were hard and were made out of fiberglass. They didn't bend or flex any, but were molded to fit the shape of my feet. After a few days of walking in them my feet felt wonderful, all of my foot pain went away. I was living again with no foot pain for a couple years, when suddenly my pain started returning with a vengance.

I was wearing my orthotic inserts, wearing good shoes, wearing doctor shoals under my custom inserts and my feet were aching more and more. In time I could hardly walk, my job performance and lifestyle started going downhill fast. When I got home from work, all I wanted to do was sit, and even them my feet ached badly for hours. By this time my weight had ballooned to over 300 pounds. I went on a diet and in a years time, I had lost slightly over 100 pounds. My foot pain completely left, and to this day, almost 3 years later, I still have none. So I know from personal experience, watch your weight, that is probably the biggest factor in causing foot pain problems.

There is a website that provides cures, facts and other great information on Sore Feet - Foot Pain and numerous medical conditions, the website is called: All About Health, and can be found at this url:

http://www.rb59.com/medical-health-info

By Robert W.
Just six miles west of Cody, Wyoming, is the Buffalo Bill Dam. It is the perfect place to stop off if you are on your way to the Yellowstone National Park as it is just past the tunnels. The park opened in May 1993 as a rest area and visitor center and was converted into the Buffalo Bill Dam Park.

The exhibits and displays are enjoyable and interesting and they will certainly provide some historical information worth knowing. The park is just a few minutes away from the Buffalo Bill Historical Center that is home of the Buffalo Bill Museum, the Cody Firearms Museum, the Whitney Gallery of Western Art, The Plains Indian Museum, and also the Draper Museum of Natural History.

Most people don't make Buffalo Bill Dam their target for a vacation; however it is a great place to visit when you are already in the area to go to Yellowstone National Park. There are a lot of great places like that which are close to another vacation destination but since they aren't as popular they don't get as much attention. So, next time you are on vacation consider what's around you other than the place you are visiting because you just might notice that you have been missing out on a lot!

The Buffalo Bill Dam in Wyoming is open Monday through Saturday from 8 am until 6 pm and Sunday 10 am until 6 pm the months of May and September and during the months of June, July, and August it is open Monday through Friday 8 am until 8 pm, Saturday 8 am until 6 pm and Sunday 10 am until 6 pm.

Pretty much any time you are driving through the tunnels on your way to or home from Yellowstone national Park you can take a break to see what Buffalo Bill Dam has to offer. If not, you can always come back another day. It won't take too much time and it is certainly not out of the way, but it is worth checking out when you are in this part of Wyoming .

There is a website that has great information on USA Vacations and Unique Travel Spots Listed State By State and Season, the website is called: Seasonal Vacation Spots, and can be found at this url:

http://www.seasonalvacationspots.com

By Robert W.
A visit to Wallowa Lake Tramway in Oregon is an experience you will never forget. That's because the views are incredible and the ascent is so amazing that you will always have this memory guarded in your mind's eye. In 1970 the gondola ride opened in Wallowa County and it became the attraction that was most popular. Since then tourists who ride the tram up the 3700 feet to Mt. Howard's summit report back that it is an experience of a lifetime and one that will never be forgotten. In fact, many tourists come back time and time again to bring family members and friends or to experience the wonder of this trip one more time.

If you are wondering what the Wallowa Lake Tramway is all about just imagine sliding into a gondola and have it take you up 3700 feet to the summit of a mountain. Imagine the beautiful views you will encounter along the way and the joy you will experience from the bird's eye view.

Some of the things you will see as you are ascending to the summit include the blue waters of Wallowa Lake as well as the rugged peaks that stick out from the Eagle Cap Wilderness area. The ride up is amazing, but when you reach the summit you will have a new experience that won't be soon forgotten as well. At the summit you will encounter temperatures that are a bit cooler not to mention beautiful plants and vegetation. Most of the plants and vegetation only grow in alpine areas so you may not be familiar with all the plants.

There are lots of trails you can walk along as well to learn a little bit more about the area. There are signs that tell you the names of plants as well as any other important information you might need to know. So, as you are walking all your questions will be answered and you will learn quite a lot about the area. If you don't want to walk down a path then you might enjoy hanging out at the Summit Grill and Alpine patio. There you can enjoy anything from a nice beverage to a full meal while basking in the beautiful views that will literally take your breath away.

Once you see this kind of beauty you will always remember it and may even want to return for family reunions, weddings, picnics, or any other outing.

There is a website that has great information on USA Vacations and Unique Travel Spots Listed State By State and Season, the website is called: Seasonal Vacation Spots, and can be found at this url:

http://www.seasonalvacationspots.com

By Robert W.
You probably know of the big cities in California like San Francisco, Los Angeles and Hollywood, but the hidden jewel of this great state is known as Carmel by the Sea. This little town is charming and sweet despite its well known status as such a great place to visit. One of the reasons so many people head to Carmel by the Sea is to shop. That's because the shopping there is outstanding with galleries and shops lining the streets.

If you choose to vacation in this delightful little town you will certainly find it worthwhile and even refreshing. There are a lot of fun things you can do, which include taking a walking tour, just walking along the beach, taking a drive from Pacific Grove to Carmel by the Sea, or checking out the Carmel Mission. This mission is the state's second mission and it is certainly worthwhile to visit.

Another great way to enjoy your time here is to take a drive to Point Lobos. This location offers an amazing view where the water and land meet and it is perhaps one of the most special places on earth. Once you arrive spread out a blanket and enjoy a picnic on the sand. This is a romantic location with flowers blossoming, coves, and wildlife about.

If you are looking for a place to stay in the Carmel by the Sea area then you will want to consider one of the many bed and breakfasts. These are great places to stay because they are cozy, romantic, and provide an enjoyable experience like no other hotel can. The Highlands Inn in Carmel by the Sea is another great option, but it is a bit pricey.

Some of the best places to dine while in the area include Casanova, Forge in the Forest, Anton and Michael, Flying Fish Grill, and the Cypress Inn. Just make sure you are patient when you are out and about in Carmel by the Sea looking for parking spaces. There just aren't a whole lot of parking spaces available and if you are driving you will be forced to drive around until someone else leaves. Find the joy in this and have fun with it!

There is a website that has great information on USA Vacations and Unique Travel Spots Listed State By State and Season, the website is called: Seasonal Vacation Spots, and can be found at this url:

http://www.seasonalvacationspots.com

By Robert W.
An educational place to visit on your next Wisconsin vacation is the Milwaukee Museum of Art. Even if the sound of this doesn’t sound that great to you because you aren’t into museums or art you should still visit because it really is an experience of a lifetime. First of all you will see the Quadracci Pavilion, designed by Santiago Calatrava, which is some amazing architecture that is worth the visit alone. In fact, this piece of architecture has received a great deal of attention worldwide for its beauty and architectural design. You really should visit the Milwaukee Museum of Art to see this beautiful Pavilion and for all the rest it has to offer as well!

The Art museum is located on Lake Michigan , which is beautiful in itself. It actually looks like a gigantic sailboat the way it is designed and the way the “wings” come up from the water, or the way it appears to come up from the water. This is a beautiful place to take some photos if you are into photography or if you simply like to remember the places you visited on vacation. The landscaping around the museum is also beautiful and practically a work of art in itself as well. By the time you have seen the exterior, landscaping, and the Pavilion you will already be overwhelmed with the beauty of the museum and sufficiently immersed in art to walk in the doors and see all that is on display. The exhibits change periodically although there are some permanent collections on display as well. You will be amazed at all that is on display and really enjoy the art inside even if you aren’t an art lover to begin with.

There is a parking garage underground just off Michigan Street however there is also metered parking on the street outside. Admission is $8 for adults, $6 for seniors and students are just $4 dollars. When accompanied by an adult children under 12 are free.

There is a website that has great information on USA Vacations and Unique Travel Spots Listed State By State and Season, the website is called: Seasonal Vacation Spots, and can be found at this url:

http://www.seasonalvacationspots.com

By Robert W.
If you are interested in visiting an amazing village in the south then you must check out Old Alabama Town in Alabama. This village is made up of quite a few 19th and 20th century buildings that are authentic and have been restored to their original beauty. Located in Montgomery, Alabama, the town stretches over six blocks in the historic downtown area of this city. That's a pretty big area and it can take up to half a day to wander around and see the architecture and all the buildings.

When you visit Old Alabama Town it is like you are walking into the late 1800s and by entering this realm you can "meet" the people who had such a huge impact on developing this part of Alabama simply by reading about their lives and seeing where they lived and worked. Seeing how the different buildings were in their original form helps visitors see the distinct difference in lifestyle from city dwellers and those who lived in more rural areas.

More than 40 different buildings have been restored in this tiny little village and by doing so the non profit corporation in charge of it all is helping people remember the past and learn from it for future benefits. You truly will be amazed when you visit Old Alabama Town and kids will be especially filled with wonder. That's because they can see how buildings were constructed so many years ago and give them a new appreciation for the world today.

Everyone who visits Old Alabama Town leaves with a renewed appreciation for all the hard work of our ancestors to make a better world not to mention a newfound appreciation for today's conveniences. This is a fabulous day trip for singles, families, and pretty much any tourist who would enjoy a good time learning about the past.

There is a website that has great information on USA Vacations and Unique Travel Spots Listed State By State and Season, the website is called: Seasonal Vacation Spots, and can be found at this url:

http://www.seasonalvacationspots.com

By Robert W.
You must plan a vacation to Arizona to see the Grand Canyon. It is just simply amazing and the maze of canyons, fissures, and gorges intertwine and merge to create one of the world’s most amazing natural wonders. You can actually see the different colors of the rock in the many layers that make up the canyon not to mention the way the sun reflects on them, and then the shadow, affects their color, which is awe inspiring in and of itself. The beauty of the Canyon is one thing, the size is another and it is just as amazing if not more so.

The canyon is huge and that may even be an understatement. The canyon measures between 10 and 15 miles wide and is more than 200 miles long. At some parts of the canyon it measures nearly a mile to the bottom. Can you imagine looking over the edge of the canyon and the ground being a mile below? It truly is one of the must see places in the world, let alone the United States. The Grand Canyon National Park includes the Grand Canyon and other sites and is located north of Flagstaff, Arizona, by about 75 miles. It will take about an hour and a half to get to the north rim’s visitor center from Flagstaff, or if you are in Las Vegas plan on a five hour drive. The south rim’s visitor center requires a 200 mile drive although it is only 10 miles away if you could fly your car over!

The south rim is the best place to visit if you are only visiting one of the rims. That is because the views are outstanding and it has more facilities than the north rim center. More tourists visit the south rim because the north rim is closed from October to May. If you are a backpacker or don’t like crowds then you might prefer the north rim. The Grand Canyon Village is a great place to stay when visiting because there are hotels, souvenir shops, and restaurants near the south rim.

The best thing to do when visiting the Grand Canyon is to allow yourself plenty of time. There is a lot to see and although it might look like you can do it all in one day you may not be able to and really enjoy it. So, give yourself plenty of time when you are at the Grand Canyon so you can see all the rims, head down to the basin, whitewater raft, and just enjoy this beautiful natural wonder.

There is a website that has great information on USA Vacations and Unique Travel Spots Listed State By State and Season, the website is called: Seasonal Vacation Spots, and can be found at this url:

http://www.seasonalvacationspots.com

By Robert W.
Although referred to as three parks in one sometimes the Olympic National Park is really just one park that encompasses several ecosystems. The three ecosystems that divide the park are the rainforest, Olympic mountains, and the Pacific coastline. Olympic National Park is located in the upper northwestern corner of the state in an area known as the Olympic Peninsula.

The park is very interesting to visit because of its location and its three different ecosystems, but also because there are species there that are not anywhere else on earth. The reason why is the mountain range closes the peninsula off from the rest of the land and certain species evolved here that did not elsewhere. The park is a biological reserve and it is studied on a regular basis to better understand what makes the park so special and how animals evolved here.

Tourists love the Olympic National Park because of the beauty, nature, and outdoor sports like hiking and backpacking. It is especially cool to backpack along the beach for several days. This is no problem because the coastline is very long and provides the perfect place for backpackers to trek through the natural beauty. Hurricane Ridge is a great place within the park to visit during the winter months for the Nordic and alpine skiing.

There are several roads on the peninsula, but none of them make it into the depths of the peninsula rendering much of it wilderness that may only be explored on foot. Because of this visiting the park for a brief time will not do it justice. So, plan a couple days or at the very least one full day to dedicate to exploring the beauty of Olympic National Park.

Some of the best things to do in the park, for those who don’t know, include the following. Doing these activities will ensure you get the best of the park. You should definitely climb all 7,965 feet of Mt. Olympus. Also, backpack the 57 miles of coast and raft the rivers. Hike the Grand Ridge Trail that is above the tree line and provides unbelievable views from a very precarious trail. Sea kayak the coast of the park, soak in the hot springs, and watch the salmon migrate. If you can fit all of these activities into your vacation to the park then you will certainly get the best experience possible.

There is a website that has great information on USA Vacations and Unique Travel Spots Listed State By State and Season, the website is called: Seasonal Vacation Spots, and can be found at this url:

http://www.seasonalvacationspots.com

By Robert W.
