Before I started along the path to my current weight loss journey, I was unaware to many of the dangers in the foods I was consuming, as I am sure most others are. It wasn’t until I was attending a social anxiety group session that I actually found out about Aspartame first hand.

I guess I will begin by explaining exactly what aspartame is. Aspartame is an artificial sweetener that has no calories and no nutritional value. It is made of Aspartic Acid. Products use aspartame instead of sugar to promote “low fat” or “low sugar” or “low calories” so that people buy into these products thinking they are better for them.

Some of these products include things like carbonated soft drinks, powdered soft drinks, chewing gum, confections, gelatins, dessert mixes, puddings and fillings, frozen desserts, yogurt, tabletop sweeteners, and some pharmaceuticals such as vitamins and sugar-free cough drops and Crystal Light that is used to flavor water.

Scientific testing was done to establish aspartame's safety, which resulted in brain tumors and grand mal seizures in rat studies, and depression, menstrual irregularities, constipation, headaches, tiredness, and general swelling in human test groups. When exposed to heat, aspartame breaks down into toxic methyl alcohol. It was also stated that 75% of the adverse reactions to food additives were linked to aspartame use.

Aspartame and glutamate act as neurotransmitters in the brain by facilitating the transmission of information from neuron to neuron. Too much aspartame or glutamate in the brain kills certain neurons by allowing the influx of too much calcium into the cells. This influx triggers excessive amounts of free radicals, which kill the cells. The neural cell damage that can be caused by excessive aspartame and glutamate is why they are referred to as "excitotoxins." They "excite" or stimulate the neural cells to death.

Aspartic acid is an amino acid. Taken in its free form (unbound to proteins) it significantly raises the blood plasma level of aspartate and glutamate. The excess aspartate and glutamate in the blood plasma shortly after ingesting aspartame or products with free glutamic acid (glutamate precursor) leads to a high level of those neurotransmitters in certain areas of the brain.

The blood brain barrier (BBB), which normally protects the brain from excess glutamate and aspartate as well as toxins, 1) is not fully developed during childhood, 2) does not fully protect all areas of the brain, 3) is damaged by numerous chronic and acute conditions, and 4) allows seepage of excess glutamate and aspartate into the brain even when intact. The excess glutamate and aspartate slowly begin to destroy neurons. The large majority (75 percent or more) of neural cells in a particular area of the brain are killed before any clinical symptoms of a chronic illness are noticed.

As of today, there are now 92 known dangerous side-effects that are a result of using products that contain aspartame. These being anything ranging from blindness and headaches to epilepsy or Alzheimer’s disease.

As I stated previously, I was able to find out about this danger because of an anxiety group I had attended. The lady who ran the group had suffered some of these symptoms that her doctor linked to the use of aspartame products when she was dieting. She experienced over 75 mini-strokes, as well as having to walk with a cane for 2 years all as a result from this.

As a conclusion, all I ask is that all of you read the nutritional labels to the foods you are buying for you and your family. In most cases, if you can’t pronounce the ingredients on the label, they are not good for you and contain no nutritional value. So please be safe and happy dieting!

--
By Missy Wagner at Biggest Loser Forums and The Biggest Loser Blog

Source: http://www.articletrader.com

For 10+ years now people have been searching for ways to make money on the internet. That means for 10+ years people have been writing ebooks promising you that if you read this book you will make money on the internet.

To put it to you the easiest way I know how, “They are all full of shit”. The only reason why 99% of the ebooks ever get written is for the sole purpose of making money for the writer. The writer could care less about helping you earn money on the internet after they have sold the ebook to you. I have never purchased an ebook but I have browsed through most of the ebooks that are supposed to be decent and never found any use full information that I couldn’t find easily for free.

Here is why none of these ebooks can ever make you rich. The main reason is because they always lack the idea. This is the most important part behind making a website for profit. You need to get that one idea that is unique and its something people will want. That is a must in order to make huge profits on the internet. No one is ever going to sell you that information so stop looking for it. You need to come up with that yourself.

Heres an example on what a real “how to make money online” ebook should look like:

First off I will give you the million dollar idea that is going to make you rich. Since you are the only person who bought my ebook you will have exclusive rights to all my information and you can rest assure no one will be copying you.

Through out this ebook I am going to walk you through step by step from the idea all the way up to cashing the checks. So lets get started with the idea right now.

The million dollar idea that you bought off of me for $59,95 because I am too lazy to put this idea into action is this. You are going to make and market a website that mimics the look and functions a computer desktop. Everything will work exactly the same from moving the icons to making new folders and icons.

What this is doing is giving users something that they are used to seeing with functionality that does not need to be explained. This will help out in that famous decision that will come up to everyone that sees your site down the road which is, “Make this page your homepage?” The purpose behind this site is to get users to use it as their homepage which will end up bringing a ton of traffic to you on a daily basis.

To build the site I would just hire a programmer to make it. There are quite a few freelance sites where you can go post your job and get it done easy. I would suggest to get the site done in AJAX because its probably the easiest to do all that functionality in right now.

The first step in marketing the site is we are going to get webmasters interested. To do this we are going to allow them to create their own icons for their sites and submit them. Why would a webmaster want to waste their time doing this? Well because the icon will be listed in our directory that are users will be browsing through to put icons on their internet desktop. So it will provide a link back to their site and it will also improve the chance of users picking their site to put on their desktop for the main reason of them having a custom icon.

Now that we got the webmasters involved you should start seeing your site being talked about throughout the internet and hopefully gaining some popularity. If you are lucky you will make it on popular websites that have the ability to send you a ton of traffic like Digg and Slashdot.

Now that we have the users we were looking for now we need to make some money. This can be done in two ways. The first way is just to sell simple banner space on the top of the site. The second is to use Google search to monetize it. Both ways are effective but I believe using Google search will make you more money.

Now I know that is incomplete obviously but that is basically how an ebook that is going to make you money online should look. They should not tell you how to make money without giving you the idea. That means the only idea that they are giving you is to write an ebook and sell it to people!

--
By Aaron Nimocks an SEO professional at iSEO Company.

Source: http://www.articletrader.com

Class C IP’s

Here is an SEO myth that has not really been proven one way or another yet. The myth is that having links from the same class C IP address will not help you. If you don’t know what I am talking about here’s how you breakdown an IP address.

AAA.BBB.CCC.DDD

So where the CCC is that number needs to be vary. The reasoning behind this is that someone could get web hosting and put 1,000 different sites on it and then link them all to one site trying to gain its link popularity. So the search engines put an end to that by using the IP of the sites to calculate how much weight to give the link.

There are quite a few people that don’t believe that this myth is true just for the simple fact of how popular shared hosting is. If this myth is true then all those sites on the same shared hosting server cant help each other out with ranking.

There is some evidence that can prove this myth though. I have followed many discussions on this topic and have seen some results that make me a believer. The results basically just prove how a site with far less links can out rank a site with a ton more links. This is because the site with less links has a ton more different class C IP’s links than the one with just more links.

Like I said I am a firm believer in this myth and I don’t even like to refer to it as a myth but until proven beyond a doubt I will call it that just to make people happy. So when you are doing link building be sure to check out the IP address on where your link will be placed in order to make sure your link will pull the most weight.

--
Written by Aaron Nimocks, SEO Professional at the SEO Company

Source: http://www.articletrader.com

Keyword Research

One of the most important items in SEO but yet its overlooked. In order to drive traffic to your site you need to rank high for keywords that get searched for. Who really cares if you rank number 1 on Google for a keyword that no one searches for. It does you no good.

To go about keyword research smartly you need to first figure out what keywords you would like to target. We will use “SEO” for an example. Your next step is to go look for some keywords that have to deal with rabbits. To do this you can use wordtracker, keyworddiscovery, or overtures tools to check searches per day. Now remember these are not always accurate searches per day so don’t always trust them and compare the results with each other.

Now when you do your search for “SEO” you are going get a return of popular searches with the word SEO in them. Now you take all of these keywords and run them through a search on Google using the command (allinanchor:keyword). This will return all the results of pages that use that keyword in their anchor text. This will give you a rough idea on how competitive that keyword is. If you return a result less than 1,000 then that keyword is pretty easy to rank for and won’t take much effort.

Now once you found a keyword that has little competition and is searched for a decent amount of time per day you can take it to the next step. This would be to evaluate all the sites that are listed in the first page results. To evaluate them you are looking basically on how many incoming links are going to that page. The fewer the better.

Now you just rinse and repeat until you find enough keywords to bring in some decent traffic.

--
Written by Aaron Nimocks, SEO Professional at the SEO Company

Source: http://www.articletrader.com

Page Rank is Googles way of showing the user a basic ranking of a webpage. The ranking is from 0 to 10 with 10 being the highest. To calculate page rank there are numerous variables involved but the most important in link popularity. So the more incoming links you have to that webpage the higher Page Rank you will have.

Page Rank is updated all the time but not visible to users. The visible Page Rank on the Google toolbar is only updated a few times a year. Normally every 3 months. There are a few ways that you can get a general idea of your Page Rank at all times. One way requires the site to be listed in the Google directory. It has become known that the directory lists in order of Page Rank. The directory uses current Page Rank data and not the visible one that only updates every 3 months. So if you have a site in the Google directory you can always get a general idea on what your current Page Rank is.

There are also Page Rank predictor tools out there. Now these tools used to be somewhat accurate but they have been shutdown with Google changing the PK parameters to all 0s. This may change again in the future but as of right now it simply does not work.

One thing that gets me is how Page Rank consumes people that are new to the SEO world. To get a few things straight here is what Page Rank does for your. NOTHING! You do not rank higher in the SERPs, make more money, get more traffic, or look cooler. This number is just a basic guideline of how many incoming links you have to your site.

But Page Rank is good for a few things at the same time. Most webmasters base link exchanges primarily based off of Page Rank. So the higher Page Rank you have the better chance of getting a good link exchange. Also it is good for selling links on your site. The price pretty much always reflects what the Page Rank is on the page.

--
Written by Aaron Nimocks, SEO Professional at the SEO Company

Source: http://www.articletrader.com
