In todays financial climate, most of us are always on the lookout for ways to save money. Household bills are one of the many areas that most of us could save. {Many of us avoid comparing energy providers however, due to lack of time on our hands, and the way that different energy providers word their deals can be confusing to consumers.|Sadly most of us dont bother to try an save where possible as we all believe (or so they say) that it is possibly too much effort for too little reward) Compare that attitude to the extent most of us go to, to get a small saving either on our car insurance or grocery bills so why not do the same for your energy supplies and bills?

These days it is very much a case of the consumer being spoilt for choice as they are a wide number of suppliers out there all keen and desperate to outbid each other for our business.

Gas and Electricity comparison websites

These are a great source of help for consumers.A half decent comparison web site should supply you with plain English and accurate comparisons in a format that is easy to understand and navigate. This should make it so much easier to compare accurately the prices and make the right decision.

This allows the consumer to make an informed decision, based on unbiased information. Not only this, but energy comparison websites also cut though the all too often convoluted and confusing terminology, to bring you the real facts about the deals and offers that the various companies offer.

Not every deal is as exactly as it says it is. Using comparison sites can give you a bit of insight to how the various companies operate. It is important not to simply scan through the various offers, but spend some time on the comparison sites, digesting all the info on them, and reading the various articles this helps you, the consumer, make an informed choice.

Many energy companies are getting wise to the comparison website phenomenon, and so are handing updated information out to such sites on a regular basis, meaning they are a great place to go to get a scoop on the latest deals and special offers.

Considering the awful quality of the results returned in many of the internet search engines these days, being able to compare gas and electricity prices so easily is a great help for consumers, that websites like energychoices.co.uk are fast becoming an indispensable tool of the internet savvy consumer.

In short, if you are interested in making sure you have the best deal with your central heating insurance, energy provider, and other such household bills, then I would seriously recommend dropping by one of the comparison websites to check out your choices. Do this on a regular basis to ensure you continue to get a good deal.

In these uncertain financial times, when it comes to planning out your energy requirements you can never be too safe and secure. It pays to put in that little bit of research to make sure that at all times you are getting the best deal available.

--
Stephen Morgan writes regularly on matters of Heating and Energy and more information on compare energy prices can be found at http://www.energychoices.co.uk

Source: http://www.articletrader.com

Scuba Diving and Scuba Diving Sites of the World - Grand Bahama Island

Scuba diving is rapidly becoming one of the most popular of all recreational water sports in the world today.

The corresponding growth in increased and easier to use transportation links now makes the more obscure and hard to get to diving locations now much more within the reach of the average diver.

In this article I really want to take a basic look at Scuba diving but also take a look at one of the worlds leading scuba diving locations in Grand Bahama Island.

The activity of swimming underwater whilst using a scuba set is not unsurprisingly known as Scuba Diving. By carrying and using an independent source of compressed air, Divers are able to stay underwater for much longer than they would normally be able to.Scuba equipment gives divers the ability to stay underwater for periods way in excess of normal usage.

The additional advantage to all of this as far as the diver is concerned is that it frees them up from being hindered and attached to some form of surface powered air system.

The usual technique for swimming or propulsion underwater is by way of using large flippers attached to their feet Some divers also move around with the assistance of a diver propulsion vehicle (DPV). This vehicle is commonly known as a scooter or they can also sometimes move around by using devices known as sleds tethered to boats on the surface.

The original equipment from which modern day scuba equipment was developed came from the use of oxygen rebreathers developed and sued by US Navy frogmen in World War II.Nowadays the term has been assimilated into general usage and more often refers to the equipment developed by Emile Gagnan and Jaques-Yves Cousteau in which compressed gas is inhaled from a tank and then exhaled into the water.

The term SCUBA though originally an acronym of the phrase self-contained underwater breathing apparatus has now alongside other such terms found itself part of the English language as a word in itself such as scuba diving, scuba equipment etc.

So to Grand Bahama Island. The reputation of Grand Bahama Island as a diver's paradise has been growing ever since the earliest episodes of the TV Series "Sea Hunt" were filmed there. The surrounding seas off the coasts of the Island boast such a wildly diverse range of diving attractions that there are very few types of diving that the Island cannot accommodate.

Grand Bahama Island is of course also famous for its "blue holes" these are spectacular azure portals in the reefs through which you can descend, surrounded by reef wall on all sides. Depending on which way the current is going at any one time these holes can be blowing or sucking and the currents here can be quite strong and as a result quite dangerous if you are not an experienced diver.

The geographical sub structure on which the Island is based is a massive limestone base and tied into this is also one of the other major reasons why people flock to this area of the world for diving and that is the massive underwater cave network that exists here.

The underwater cave network that is located by and large within the Lucayan National Park is the second largest of its type in the world.

The caves are still being explored, and there are numerous special dive programs that can take you into them (provided you are cave certified).

--

Stephen Morgan writes regularly about leisure activities and if you want to find out more about Scuba Diving Sites then visit http://www.divemaster.com

Source: http://www.articletrader.com

Data Recovery and the Dark Side of Web 2.0

OK hands up everyone who has heard of the phrase Web 2.0? Everyone, good, means that we are all paying attention then. Unless you have either juts arrived on Planet Earth from the Planet Zanussi or have been sheltering under a rock for the past couple of years then you would have been hard pressed not to have heard of the phrase Web 2.0?

It was supposed to be the panacea to all Internet ills and the ultimate answer to all marketers’ dreams. It was also supposed to make our daily lives and the way we interact with each other online so much more complete and intuitive.

Well if we are honest the jury is still out on most of these issues as yes good old Web 2.0 and its sites do tick some of the boxes but as in all good things when it comes to mankind, why do we never quit when we are ahead?

By this I mean that there are some cracking sites out there with some extremely useful features and functions but as in all cases, sooner or later along come a bunch of folks who proceed to screw it up for everyone else.

Hands up those who know anything about Facebook?

Good, lots of you and this is good as it means that the PR people behind Facebook have been doing their job so bonuses all round, we can all afford to stand up properly for a change!

Hands up all of you who understand properly the way that all of those nice cute little applications on Facebook work when all your mates keep sending you cute and cuddly little virtual friends and flowers, exploding eggs, plants whatever?

Hmnnnn. Not quite as many as who answered in the affirmative the first time round. Not so good, as there are a number of reasons why you should be aware of how they and other applications like them work.

As I switch on and log into my Facebook account (yes I have one) I can’t help but notice the growing number of cute and cuddly wee applications that keep cropping up when people sent me items. Now this is all very nice and it does indeed keep you all warm and fuzzy inside to know that people care but there is a more insidious side to all of this. Every time you try and open a “hatching egg” or a growing plant” you are asked to download and open an application to run these gifts. Hidden behind the scenes in some of these applications are bots and crawlers who are unleashed onto your hard drive, email in box or wherever they can go to “mine” personal data and store this data. Yes folks you have just been the victim in some cases of the first stages of Identity Theft. In the worst cases your hard drive may be infected and you are on the slippery slope to your data being harvested and the hard drive roasted and fried.

Not a nice picture is it and one that the folks behind Facebook (and others) are less likely to portray? The trouble is that a lot of these applications are third party applications that are not hosted on Facebook’s own servers and as such Facebook and its personnel have no control over what is going on by and large.

Welcome to the hidden dark side of Web 2.0, where it is all too easy to submerge yourself into a collective consciousness and forget about how you may be exposing yourself to hidden theft.

Now if you are the victim of this type of Internet Mugging and yes you have suffered data loss as a result. What are you going to do now?

--
Stephen Morgan writes regularly on such matters and more can be found on Hard Drive Recovery and at http://www.diskdoctors.net is a company that assists consumers to make educated decisions about their domestic or commercial energy needs.

Source: http://www.articletrader.com

In the current climate with rising energy costs and increased demand it is essential that you understand wherever possible the options that you have available to you at all times in relation to your choice of Central Heating Systems.. In this article I hope to be able to shed some light and a bit of background information on a couple of options if you decide that you want to investigate further. To most people their concept of what Heating System you choose revolves round purely is going to be Gas powered, Oil powered and powered by electricity but the choices you are have in front of you also relate to what type of system you install as well.

There are two regular types of central heating system installation styles; you could either choose to place the main boiler unit on the wall, usually in a kitchen or perhaps a small outer room or cupboard of a house or apartment.

The other type of boiler installation is floor mounted, if you have sufficient space in perhaps some kind of exterior alcove or small outer room of the house this may be appropriate.

Ground installed boilers

The more bulky ground mounted boilers are usually more powerful and tend to have a higher output than the wall mounted boilers. Their weight is often around 150 kg and they can occupy an area of about 100 x 60 x 60 cm. Generally installed in the cellar or in an outer annex, floor mounted boilers are highly suitable for heating installations for the entire house.

The power output will be between 23 and 90 kW.

Condensing Boilers

These boilers are considered as the most effective, recovering additional heat from water vapour after combustion. Instead of being exhausted whilst still at a temperature of between 110 and 250 ° C, the fumes from condensing boilers are cooled to a minimum, the heat being used within the system. The gain may go up 15% compared to none condensing boilers.

The principle of low temperature condensation has been implemented in the most current condensing boilers, to further improve their performance.

They are particularly suited to under-floor heating or simple heating radiators. Condensing central heating boilers have a broad power range from 8 to 65 kW or more.

As I mentioned it is vitally important that you understand exactly what options you have in front of you.
Organic Kids Clothing and Baby Clothing, Why?

Organic clothing for babies and kids, just how viable is it for the world in which we live in and why should we bother? Would it have been possible to imagine a world merely ten years ago where it was possible to buy organic baby clothing and children’s organic clothing? Why would we appear to be bothered by this at all? The answer to these questions would appear to lie within the psyche of the modern day parent to be.

Ask any young mother (or any mother in fact) what one of the prime motivators is with regards to their newly born offspring and you will find that it is by and large the desire to make sure that their children’s clothes are firstly of the best available design and functionality and secondly wherever possible of the most user and environmentally friendly construction.

This latter point is a major selling point in the mindset of today’s parent and those manufacturers who ignore it do so at their own peril. The potential loss of such major market could at times be the difference between profit and loss.

So what is that actually happens to make the young commercially avaricious adults of yesterday turn into the environmentally and eco-friendly parent of today.

The answer if the truth be known lies somewhere in the transition that occurs to the adult human within the ninth months (or thereabouts) of pregnancy. It starts probably with the potential “mum to be” in the “nesting” process that occurs fairly early on in the pregnancy and develops from there I guess.

Now before most people start to think that this is some sort of “anti-feminist” or “anti-parent” rant, let me set my position out early on here as being someone who can talk about this from the position of being a father of a nine year old son and someone who has been part of the entire process. It was a process that I dearly loved and probably would repeat at the drop of a hat if possible but sadly that was not to be.

No folks, the transition from self centered adult to caring parent is quite a major transition and is one that is not to be dismissed lightly. One of the major effects of this transition would appear to be the growing awareness of not only ones mortality but also a desire to try and affect in a positive manner the world in which not only we live in but also the one that our children are going to inherit.

Sort of a “to our children’s children’s children” kind of thing. Enter stage left here the desire to examine sustainability in all of its manifestations. High amongst these is a desire to help shape and develop a world in which materials where possible are grown in an organic manner that is not only beneficial to the environment but also, hey, makes us feel good too not only physically but mentally too.

The entire Organic Movement has moved quite a considerable distance forward from the whole “brown bread and sandals image of the late sixties” and now it seems that Society has at last woken up to the benefits of using organic produce not only as consumer produce to eat but also is now viewing organic produce as viable for the raw materials for what we wear.

Organic kids and baby clothing comes from that very growing movement, it is now possible to buy children’s organic clothes quite readily and would appear to be very much a phenomenon that is here to stay.

--
Stephen Morgan writes about a number of family issues and more information on organic clothing for babies can be found at http://www.organicbabywearhouse.com

Source: http://www.articletrader.com

Data Recovery - Is it ever to late to recover Data?

Hard Drive Recovery – a phrase guaranteed to strike fear into the hearts of most Computer Technicians (or would do if most of them really knew what it meant) but what causes it and what can be done either to prevent it or certainly to make sure it is handled and remedied correctly.

We can all picture the scenario, a hard pressed systems technician or home worker, up against a deadline to deliver a project in on time or under budget sits back, presses the enter button and……zippo, nada, nothing or even worse than that, the entire system juts flashes up the computer equivalent of “Gone to lunch, back whenever.”

If you have never been in that situation (and haven’t we all at some time or other) then believe me as someone who speaks from battle hardened experience then I can guarantee you that medical science has discovered no laxative quite like this. Boy, the phrase “losing ones lunch” conjures up a whole new image. Not pretty I can assure you.

The answer to all of this is usually quite simple. Back up your data more often and take better care of the equipment you use and hopefully it will take better care of you (or so the story goes) but sometimes it is not that simple.

Data loss can occur for a number of reasons and the five most common are “Hardware Malfunction” and this accounts for 44% (allegedly) of all Data loss situations. Next there is “User Error” and this accounts for about 32% of all data loss. An amusing euphemism for this was once used by one of my colleagues when describing a particular client one day, he went on to describe the source of the problem as being an “interface problem occurring between the keyboard and the chair!”

In approximately 14% of the cases, the data loss occurs through software corruption, Computer Viruses account for 7 % and the remaining 3% occur through what can best be described as “Natural Disasters”.

However in most cases and if dealt with correctly i.e. talking to the right people the situation does not necessarily require or dictate that the perpetrator immediately reach for an old rusty razor blade, meaning that is a lot of cases the problem can be fixed to some degree or other.

Don’t let me build false hopes entirely. If you are in position whereby you do think you have lost data then the first thing you do have to do is talk to someone who knows what they are talking about but accept there will be a certain amount of “collateral” damage in the attempt at restoring your lost data. Sometimes this occurs when the lab you are dealing with encounters formatting issues with hard disks etc and these are unavoidable. However in situations like this you will usually find that the core data recovered (even if a little strange in layout) is at least usable.

So just when you think that all is lost, it need not be the case, in the case of Data Recovery; you just need to know to talk to right people.

--
Stephen Morgan writes about a number of Technical issues and more information on Data Recovery can be found at http://www.diskdoctors.net

Source: http://www.articletrader.com

Plasma Technology has been with us since its inception in the mid 1960s and it is indeed LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) Technology that is actually the younger and newer of the two types of technology available with Plasma being with us since the mid 60s.

To bring it down to its most simplistic form plasma display works effectively by housing many thousands of tiny cells located between two panels of glass which are held in a mixture of inert gasses usually Neon or Xenon.

If we take a look at couple of Plasma Flat Screen TVs we can see exactly what there is in the marketplace right now.

The first Plasma we will take a look at is the LG 50PC1D?

The 50PC1D is a 50in Plasma TV and these TV's at present can be found in the region of 1500 pounds sterling or 3000 US dollars. The screen resolution is 1366 X 768 and with regards to being HD Ready the answer is yes. The LG has 3 (2 RGB) scarts and the type and number of Multimedia interfaces the 50PC1D uses is HDMI and 2. The type of Tuner for this TV is Analogue and Digital and the LG is available from a wide variety of outlets.

So what would we think is a fair assessment of the LG 50PC1D?

First up, we would look at the picture quality and our score here would be 6 out of 10, as the other half of the "Sound and Vision" double act our opinion of the sound quality would be 8 out of 10. Taking a look at the number of relevant connections and their availability, our score would be 8 out of 10. As far as overall features are concerned we would give it 8 out of 10 and with regards to ease of use and overall value for money our opinion and score would be 6 and 6 out of 10 respectively.

The overall verdict would be that the overall performance of this Plasma we felt was rather good if not let down slightly by a noisy picture but on the other hand compared against similar machines this is on the cheap side so that has to be a plus also.

(The next Plasma Flat Screen TV to look at would be the|Next up amongst the Plasma Flat Screen TVs to look at would be the} Vivadi Saturn HD50.

The Saturn HD50 is a 50in Plasma TV and these TV's at present can be found in the region of 8000 pounds sterling or 16000 US dollars. The screen resolution is 1366 X 768 and with regards to being HD Ready the answer is yes. The Vivadi has 1 (no RGB) scarts and the type and number of Multimedia interfaces the Saturn HD50 uses is HDMI and 2. The type of Tuner for this TV is Analogue and Digital and the Vivadi is available from limited outlets only.

So what would we think is a fair assessment of the Vivadi Saturn HD50?

First up, we would look at the picture quality and our score here would be 10 out of 10, as the other half of the "Sound and Vision" double act our opinion of the sound quality would be 10 out of 10. Taking a look at the number of relevant connections and their availability, our score would be 10 out of 10. As far as overall features are concerned we would give it 10 out of 10 and with regards to ease of use and overall value for money our opinion and score would be 8 and 6 out of 10 respectively.

The overall verdict would be when you look at the scores we gave it you get a fairly good picture of what our team felt when they reviewed. This may sound slightly stupid and very obvious but now and then you can give a Tva good score on a technical basis but not really "fall in love" with the entire package. In this case the big down side is the price it has to be said but if you have the cash or can get your hands (legally) on the money thenm do whatever you have to do to get one of these pieces of kit. The Picture quality alone just leaves most people speechless!

From 2006 onwards industry analysts noted that effectively LCD TVs were overtaking plasma displays particularly in the large 40inch plus market where basically plasma previously enjoyed a massive dominance since the inception of technology. Another interesting industry trend is that effectively manufacture of plasma displays has consolidated from about 50 odd plus brands available but these are only from five manufactures so the upshot of that is that plasma technology is fighting back in terms of economy of scale because as you can imagine with 50 brands from five manufactures there are certain economies of scale with regards to the reduced duplication of internal technology.

--

Stephen Morgan writes quite regularly on the Internet about TV and Home Entertainment issues and more on the above can be found at Best Flat Screen TV and also at http://cheapplasmatelevision.biz

Source: http://www.articletrader.com
