Just $79 down and $49 a month gets you your own affiliate business!!! This headline sounds too good to pass up, especially since you are told the fees include your own website and virtual back office. “This is great”, you say so that you can sell online “in your sleep.”

That would be true, as 24/7 availability of the Internet allows for sales any second of the day. What you may not realize is there are 30,000 to 60,000 or more affiliates or multi-level marketers (MLM) just like you trying hoping to catch the eye of random Internet visitors using a web page served up from the company’s main site. For example, “your” website URL is probably similar to www.SiteMadeSimple.com/12345, In this URL format, the page to which you refer customers is not really your site. Your company is allowing you a page or placeholder on their site.

If you do a search on the type of product or service you sell, or the company’s name, the top result belongs to that of the company and then a few hundred other affiliates like you. “But where is my site”, you ask? Off in a black virtual hole, probably without a chance to be seen in top, mid, or low ranking without optimization.

Search engine optimization (SEO) is the phrase used to represent the effort to boost a website’s ranking in search engine results. Briefly, SEO involves multiple components, the main part being the ability to create and manipulate the structure and data needed to optimize a website.

When you don’t own your page or site, typically the way affiliate marketing and multi-level marketing works, you do not have access to the areas needed in order to facilitate SEO. “So what’s an affiliate or MLM to do?” Great question! There are simple solutions at varying price ranges.

At the least, you should have your own domain name that references the type of business opportunity or product. Be careful here as some affiliate and MLM programs do not allow the use of their name by anyone else. With our previous example, this would mean you could not use www.buySiteMadeSimple.com as your domain as it is built off of company’s domain. You would use your own domain and then point it to the URL provided by your company.

The next part is developing your own page, or portal, leading to your company page, or even developing your own website. Be careful here as some affiliate and MLM programs limit the use of their name, branding and product information in sites other than their own. If this is the case, there are still creative ways to present the information without violating policy.

Last of all, you need to optimize your completed page, portal or site and update your SEO on your website on a frequent basis.

That’s it and then you are off and running in the virtual world. Please note that a new page, and even an optimized page, does not show up in search engines or have increased rankings and traffic automatically. It depends on the additions to the engines and the strength of your SEO, which can have different timeframes.

Don’t give up on your affiliate dream (making money while you sleep). Instead, implement the strategies outlined above. <a href="http://www.SiteMadeSimple.com</a"> has created pages and complete sites for affiliate and MLM marketers with great success.
Have you struggled to get your business into the Social Networking stream? By that I mean the new wave of podcasting, video, blogging, and live broadcasting. YouTube and MySpace are each good in their own arena but have drawbacks regarding membership and the ability to promote. Additionally how do you make and convert all this media and then upload and manage content at these various sites? As a web developer, I too struggled with how to provide economical and feasible content in as few places as possible with the ability for the client to make updates quickly and easily.

I have found an awesome solution and the answer is helloWorld from VM Direct. With helloWorld, I have one location to store media, make live broadcasts, send video email, podcast and blog, along with a social networking site to tell individuals about myself and my business. It's that easy.

The personalized video email allows me to be face to face with my customers and offer custom links, in the email, to various recommended products or specials that my company is running. With streaming video, I can broadcast a live tv show to anyone around the world and archive it for future viewing. I can create training seminars or create learning videos with the click of the mouse to activate the camera. I have podcasting and blogging ability right from myworld home page and I can showcase pictures and content that I want folks to see. I cannot adequately describe it all here but I can tell you that I was so impressed, I signed up to offer VM Direct and helloWorld services to others.

Please visit me at
www.vmdirect.com/ChristineBurke to learn more about the products and how helloWorld can enhance your business.

--
Christine Burke is the owner of www.SiteMadeSimple.com providing Internet solutions.

Source: http://www.articletrader.com

Job interviews, first dates, social settings – no matter the occasion, a first impression can make or break a potential relationship. Have you experienced an awkward moment yourself when you were not looking or feeling your best? Have you been introduced to someone and thought, “What were they thinking?”

Does your business have an online presence? Can customers learn about and interact with your company in cyberspace? If the answer to either of the previous questions is “NO” – I have to say, “What are you thinking?”

Just yesterday, I was working with a client who recommended her cousins’ catering service. My first question was, “What’s their website”, to which she replied, “I don’t know.” A query to a few of the popular search engines revealed zilch, nada, nothing – except for other competitors in our local area. Realistically, if I was not particularly loyal to my client, I would more than likely investigate the businesses that were right at hand – right then, via their websites. As a dedicated business owner, can you afford to lose potential customers so unexpectedly, especially when websites are so easy and affordable?

A website consists of a domain name, i.e. (www.yourbusinessname.com), and a hosting account. A domain name is purchased and points to the hosting account – much like your street address references your physical building. Then, web pages consisting of words and graphics are developed and published to the hosting account. You can create web pages or work directly with a design company.

Businesses, both large and small, can create an online presence with a website for under $15. Better yet, monthly maintenance is as little as $4 a month. You can find affordable website solutions at http://www.sitemadesimple.com At these prices, there is no excuse. It’s up to you to make the best first impression.

--
Christine combines her personality and experience in her consulting, educational, and entrepreneurial endeavors.
