Work at Home Jobs - How to Get Hired

Are you among the people searching for a real work at home job? Looking for a

company that will hire you to telecommute? The jobs are plentiful when you

know where to look. Getting hired may take standing out from the masses with

a good resume and attitude. You have to treat these just like any traditional

job or you won't last long or get hired in the first place.

I get emails from folks about getting hired by work at home companies. Some

people say the have applied for several jobs, but haven’t been hired yet.

This could be due to several reasons. Think about it like if you went out to

apply for a traditional drive to work job. First, are you qualified for the

position? Would you apply for a position as an executive secretary if you

never worked in that position or only typed 20 words per minute? That would

probably be a waste of time right? How about your resume? Are you listing all

of your expertise and skills?

When you apply for a job working at home, you really have to stand out. Apply

for the jobs that you have experience in or a good bit of knowledge about.

These are employers just like any other job. The difference is, they want to

make sure you are qualified and will have the discipline to work unsupervised.

You don’t have co-workers and supervisors in your workspace looking over

your shoulder. Treat these companies like you would if you applied in person.

Don’t be afraid to put life experiences on your resume if it pertains to the

job your applying for. Be professional!

I applied with six companies and was hired by four of the top companies over

a one year period. I’m not an expert in any of the fields I applied for, but

my application answers and resume stated lots of customer service experience.

Most people have that experience and just don’t realize it. Have you ever

worked on a job where you never spoke to anyone or saw anybody face to face?

Bet not. Use your talents and experience to land the job that you know you

are qualified for and have knowledge in. Be the best you can be.

One of the most important factors is being able to communicate clearly and

with confidence. You don’t have to be a know it all, or a guru, just be

yourself but be very professional about speaking to the potential employer.

Have you ever called for technical help and couldn’t understand the person

who is supposed to be helping you? Very frustrating right? Be prepared to

take a voice test for most call center work, a typing test for data entry,

etc. These companies want proof you can do what you say you can do.

Be patient! Getting hired for a “real work at home job” can take some time.

Geez, some of these companies get over 500 applications a day! Get the point?

Stand out in the crowd and be somebody! I hope this helps everyone who

applies for a job to understand what it takes to work at home. It is a very

rewarding position, and lots of people are in competition with you. Be the

Real Work At Home Jobs

Many people have the desire and dream of earning a living from home. Some just want a regular job that can be done at home as telecommuting becomes more the norm. Others desire an unlimited source of income with their own home business. While both situations are attainable, the search for such companies that do hire “work at home” agents, can be quite exhausting. I know because I spent over a year looking. Finding the right home business is the same due to many wanting an investment to start. So, what do you do?

You try and try to find the right words to put into search boxes. You search through a lot of crud on the net, just to find more stuff your not looking for. Monday comes around and you drive back to that same old boring job with some jerk for a boss that wants you to devote your life to a low wage life sucking nightmare. Can you tell how much I like the corporate world?

That was over two years ago for me too. Now while I'm no guru or expert so to speak, I have been into computers since way before Windows and the internet when I thought a BBS and a 2400 baud modem was the stuff! Now I just felt older. I learned how the search engines look at keywords. I started finding exactly the companies that hired people to work at home. I applied for some and got hired the next week. I took inbound customer service calls for infomercials and major stores right in my own home office! Paid by the Minute!

After about a month and a couple of nice paychecks, I was offered another job at a different company for $14 per hour. I did technical troubleshooting for one of the largest satellite TV companies in the US. All still working from home. Pretty cool to tell friends and family why gas prices don't bother me much anymore. LOL Withyour computer, high speed internet and a land based home phone, you too can do the same jobs as I did, right from home.

Major US based companies are utilizing this realativly new technology for call centers, and lowering their costs of doing business. The language barriers from overseas call centers, lowers customer appeal and sales for these major companies. This is really opening the doors for stay at home moms and dads to earn an income from home.

Work at Home Agents

Working at home with my computer has been a dream of mine for years. I know a lot of people have been searching like me, for a real work at home job. Searching the internet for legit work at home jobs, can be very frustrating. Finding one biz op after another when what you want is just a regular job that you can do from home, with a regular paycheck. Well, I found several of the top companies that hire people as work at home agents. About 35 companies now. I put them all in a list on our website. I will just say that my girlfriend takes calls for one of the biggest toy stores on earth. She makes from $6 per hour off peak and $18 per hour during peak sales times. My son takes calls for one of the top infomercial tv shows on cable tv. I use to take calls for one of the top satellite tv companies for tech support and I made $14 per hour! Now I make money with my own company again.
