Okay, I'll admit it. I'm a book lover. I love books, and I love to read whenever I get the chance. As a child, having my parents read me stories was one of my favorite things, but it wasn't until I made the time as a young adult to open a book, that I rediscovered the joy that books and stories could bring. Although I didn't discover my love of reading until my early twenties, I now have an incredible passion for books, and reading is something that I do, not because I have to, but because I love to do it!

My passion is so strong, that I have even converted my wife who is a self confessed non-reader, to a book lover. And now that we have children of our own, I make it a point to instill in them the love for reading that my parents tried to do for me. Reading to my children has become my role as a parent during our bedtime routine.

I have to admit however, that while I tried to make it a habit to read to my kids EVERY night before bed, no matter how tired I was it didn't always work that way. Sometimes life got in the way, and I would entertain the kids, not with the story I was reading, but the snoring that came from me instead when I fell asleep in the middle of the story, exhausted from the day.

Although I had big plans to read to my children every night, more often than not it just wasn't possible, but it was still very important to me. I needed to find an alternative plan. In fact, I considered finding a new job that didn't demand as much time from me. Of course, I continued at the job that I was at, and even found myself getting a promotion which meant that I had even less time to spend reading to my children. I couldn't ask my wife to take over the reading duties; she was already completely overburdened with family life.

Despite all of these obstacles, I was still not willing to give up on my plan to instill a love for reading in my children, but it had become clear that I needed another solution. And then, it came to me, the solution to my growing problem had all but smacked me in the face like the proverbial one thousand bee stings.

Audio books! The solution to my problem that not only gave me a remedy but gave me my life back!

Let me tell you how much my life has changed since I learnt about audio books!

Not only have I gained back the two to three hours a day that my new job position demanded of me, but I have gained many more hours to my life because of audio books.

How have I done this?

Simple! This is how I've maximized my time every day.

With the extreme portability of Mp3 players, I have taken the hour that I get ready for work in the morning and turned it into quality listening time, all while I'm getting ready for the day.

For the hour it takes me to commute to the office in the morning, every day, I enjoy the latest business audio book on my car CD player, keeping up to date on the current business trends and putting me in the right frame of mind for a productive day at the office.

During my hour lunch break everyday I switch on my Mp3 player for a few chapters of an interesting biography in order to broaden my life knowledge a little bit.

For the hour commute home, I switch CD's and listen to a comedy audio book that gives me the chance to decompress, leaving my work at the office, allowing me to effectively deal with the traffic and it puts a smile on my face by the time I get home to my family.

The total time that I have gained back by discovering audio books is at least three hours during what would normally be considered wasted time. I have discovered how to maximize my time enjoyably by listening to audio books.

Don't get me wrong, just because I have discovered audio books, does not mean that I don't enjoy reading books anymore. I do read, but audio books allow me to enjoy a much wider variety of books, and many more books than I would normally have the time for if I limited myself only to paper books.

The second great way that I use audio books is with my children. Now, instead of trying to cram some reading time in when I'm exhausted, I play an audio book for them every second night instead. By doing this I have discovered that the kids prefer the audio books to my reading (snoring) and now they devour books like never before!

The benefit to the children has been enormous! Not only are they broadening their knowledge base by listening to a wide variety of audio books, but we have noticed an incredible difference in their conversation as well. Not only are they using words that are far beyond their years, but they are using them in the right context with the proper pronunciation! It is really fantastic to see. I mean…hear!

Yes, I am an absolute convert... audio books are wonderful!

If you are like most people in today's busy world, you have had similar issues trying to find enough time to fit everything in. Well, I am here to tell you that you can get your life back, and take back that wasted time! Expand your horizons, and fill that empty space by taking advantage of the amazing value of audio books.

What use to be a domain only for sight impaired people, has now exploded into all of the best-selling titles being converted to audio book format. Much of this is thanks to the advances in technology and the shear brilliance of mp3's.

Why waste anymore time? Get started now by going online to search for the audio version of that book that you have been dying to read. You may be surprised to find the incredibly wide selection of titles in all genres and age categories that are available.

Take it from me, you will only have to listen to one audio book and you will be hooked for life!

--

About the Author

Tom Reincke was so impressed with audio books and recognized the world wide phenomenon of mp3's that he had to put the two together.

We are what we think about on a consistent basis so it is imperative we have the things that we want to think about foremost in our minds.

We know without doubt that our minds are the engine room to achievement and on a personal level, your achievement! However it is unfortunate that even though so many people know this, they fail to do anything about it.

You see, the mind by any measure is the single most important thing that we have access to in our mental or material world that determines who we become as individuals.

Most of the highly successful people you see, hear and read about in the news today will state that if your mind is positive and creative you can become all you ever dream of becoming. Their autobiographies dominantly reveal that they all took a great deal of time to work on improving their minds in any way.

And to the contrary, it is demonstrated daily, that if your mind is negative and inactive, then your outcomes will match the input with low or no achievement with consistent monotony.

The most extreme examples of this show in the public records of some of the most notorious criminals who have lead a life of misery, low self esteem and poor self image previous to their incarceration.

The obvious subject raised which causes great debate is that of, "Mother Nature or Nurture" theories and the evaluation of separated twin comparison studies.

Personally however, I believe the weight of evidence for the Nurture theory is abound and is proved way too often to ignore. In essence that is you are what you think about on a consistent bases. In fact scientific evidence is abundant to support this theory almost daily.

Certainly, our minds develop by what we feed them and it there fore stands to obvious reason that if you choose to continually put negative information in then this will manifest into negative thoughts out and ultimately negative results out.

The obvious point here is that for positive results, you need positive fuel for your mind on a regular basis.

Certainly a regular injection of respected accomplished mentors is an endorsed past time but the most common and possibly the best median to be able to do this is the consumption of books.

Unfortunately however in today's time starved society, few people have time to read the books they either want or need to read and are left with the poor substitute commonly know as 'The Egg Timer, or daily News paper.

The sad part about that is they are guaranteed to feed our negative input simply because bad news sells.

So if you want to really make the positive change to a great diet for your mind and get positive and helpful information, the obvious decision is already made for you. Books are your source to positive input and knowledge building wisdom.

And now there is a perfect solution to the time issue faced by all of us. That solution; audio books.

With great fortune to audio book lovers is the runaway popularity of MP3's. Their portability, easy of use, storage capacity and superb sound reproduction has literally compelled publishers to convert their written text to audio. And this conversion to audio is happening at an unprecedented rate so thankfully anyone can now get the right information into his or her mind without having to "read".

Audio books give you great flexibility and enable you to become amazingly time efficient. You can take in some or all of an audio book while exercising, doing the dishes, walking the dog or commuting to and from your work and a thousand other places.

While there are many great audio books to now choose from, an excellent selection of audio books has been highlighted for you below.

1) The Secrets of Success

Life-changing wisdom never goes out of style! This classic work has truly stood the test of time, selling tens of millions of copies and remaining in constant demand

Author: James Allen

Publisher: Gildan Media Corp.

2) Creative

Release your imagination and recognise your creative intelligence.

Guy Claxton & Bill Lucas

Publisher: BBC Audiobooks Ltd

3) Discover the Wealth Within You

In Discover the Wealth Within You, Ric Edelman shows you how to choose fun, enriching and rewarding financial goals and gives you a simple straightforward plan for achieving them.

Author: Ric Edelman

Publisher: Harper Collins US

4) How to Win Friends & Influence People

Author: Dale Carnegie

Publisher: Simon & Schuster Audio

5) Awaken the Giant Within Author: Anthony Robbins

Author: Anthony Robins

Publisher: Simon & Schuster Audio

6) How To Get What you Want and Want What you Have

Here's the audiobook to help you get what you want, and be happy with what you have.

How can you easily raise $4,380.00 for your local sporting club, school, university, church group, hospital or international charity with audio books!

If you have a web site that generates visitors, and let's face it why have a web site if you don't have visitors - let's look at some simple yet surprising possibilities.

No matter what your web site is about or for, be it for a sporting club, church, charity or a commercial web site that wants to raise funds for a charity and it gets 40 hits per day. This equates to just 14,600 visitors per year. Many web sites do this in a week so hopefully this figure is very conservative for you!

Now what might the majority of these 14,600 visitors be interested in? Exactly what your web site is about obviously and it matters not if it is a product or service in this example. Whether you teach how to ride horses or you actually sell horses, your web site visitor is interested in horses. In fact every thing horses, or it might be everything cars or needle craft or health and well being!

So what can you then do to appease their appetite for their original interest in your web site? Offer them something that is an extension of and complimentary to your web site, preferably something that is booming in popularity, is instantly downloadable and runs on automatic pilot.

And that product is audio books. By the way, the audio book market has had explosive growth thanks to MP3 players in the last 2 years and is expected to grow 33 of the people in the world account for 80 group will read 8 books in every 10 purchased and for many, they will read or listen to at least one book a month or 12 per year!

So being conservative, now let's assume not 20, that's just 1 in 10 of your web site visitors is a book reader/listener and they download not 12 but just 2 audio books for the whole year.

Using $15 as an average purchase price at say a 10 of site visitors 1,460 x $3 = $ 4,380.00! (What if they purchased 12 or more audio books in a year)!

And you may have many more site visitors perhaps less, but would you still be happy with 50 or $2,190.00 more than you would otherwise have raised without audio books on your web site?

Simple to answer...?

Incidentally, if 10% of your web site visitors did download 12 audio books a year that would equate to 1,440 x $18 = $25,920.00!

Incredible really, and anything is possible if you decide to promote a product or subject that you already know your audience is interested in!

You should now be asking,… "How do I do this", because the demand is already proven with the forecast for the next 3 years (and beyond) is explosive?

Rest assured and be excited because adding audio books to your site is easy and is perhaps best explained in example form. Remember that there will be many ways that you can do this, but this is probably the absolute easiest way to do it.

Firstly become an affiliate of an audio book outlet. Then realize that because your web site visitors are interested in your web site, simply offer them a book or category of book that compliments their interest and post a link on your web site for them to be able to purchase that audio book or category of audio books. In essence it really is that simple.

Ie: if you are a church, possibly pick the Religion & Spiritual category link or if you are a Sporting body pick the Health & Recreation category link.

As an affiliate (and beware, do not pay to be an affiliate because there are many excellent free and 'subscription free' programs available), you can do this by simply copying the audio book code from your selected category and pasting it into your web site. Yes… it really is that simple.

Special note:

You should be able to use a variety of links in your web page be they a text link which is simply blue hyperlinked wording or you could use graphical links which really makes for a greater presentation on your web site.

Audio books really are a gold vein of revenue to your web site because they are the ideal commodity. Most audio book listeners listen to more than one audio book per year so the potential life time value of your customers is fantastic. And, the internet and MP3 files are literally 'hand made perfect' for audio books and the automation and facilities available to affiliates by most audio book outlets are now brilliant.

So if you are looking to raise funds for your local sporting club, school, university, church group, hospital or international charity (the easy way) today and every day, think about offering your web site visitors audio books through a recognized affiliate program.

You might also want to consider just how you can use audio books to promote your personal business and create a bonus residual income for yourself.

--

About the Author

Tom Reincke of ClickHereAudioBooks.com was so impressed with audio books and recognized the world wide phenomenon of MP3's that he had to put the two together. You can now discover just how good audio books are for yourself. Simply download a series of 6 FREE audio books now, plus receive a bonus free e-book revealing "The Marketing Magic of Audio Books" for your web site http://www.clickhereaudiobooks.com/FreeAudioBooks.html

Source: http://www.articletrader.com

As an airline flight attendant you will be immersed into a new world of language that you cannot avoid or ignore. While the aviation language standard around the globe is English, it's the English Phonetic Alphabet that is unavoidable to those that fly operationally.

While strange to some at first it will quickly become familiar to you when you are immersed into it as an airline flight attendant.

But why do airlines use this language?

Simply the world is a small place when it comes to jet aircraft. In less than a day you can cross literally dozens of countries and all with local Pilots and Air traffic controllers that have accents that are native to their mother tongue.

To save confusion with accents and to have clarity and precision of identification over the airways around the world, the airline industry communicates with a system called the Phonetic alphabet. The Phonetic alphabet was developed during the mid 1900s so that soldiers of war could articulate messages over the radio to other soldiers in the heat of battle without misunderstanding due to poor reception and the noise of battle.

Basically the use of the Phonetic alphabet sounds a word that starts with the letter that you want to say. That way, letters like C and D although similar in letter sound, can be correctly identified. Charlie is very different to Delta for example. It is then just a matter of sounding out the letters or spelling of the word that you need to communicate.

Operationally, this is always used to identify aircraft and anything that needs certain understanding. As a Flight Attendant you will need to know the phonetic alphabet as you will use it and hear it used often while at work. You will quickly find that it creeps into your everyday language as a type of short hand to operational understanding with other crew members.

So what is the Phonetic alphabet used by the Airline industry?

A - Alpha, B - Bravo, C - Charlie, D - Delta, E - Echo, F - Foxtrot, G - Golf, H - Hotel, I - India, J - Juliet, K - Kilo, L - Lima, M - Mike, N - November, O - Oscar, P - Papa, Q - Quebec, R - Romeo, S - Sierra, T - Tango, U - Uniform, V - Victor, W - Whiskey, - X-ray, Y - Yankee, Z - Zulu

Simply print out the above and refer to when needed. With a little bit of practice you'll learn the alphabet in no time. Then as a Flight Attendant you'll easily apply the phonetic alphabet when and where needed automatically and almost without thought.

Numbers also have a pronunciation all of their own and further information on this is fully explained for Flight Attendants in How To Become a Flight Attendant available at FlightAttendantSecrets.com

Echo, November, J - Juliet, Oscar, Yankee (Enjoy)

--

About the Author

Tom Reincke has enjoyed an airline career for more than 16 years both domestically and internationally.
Flight Attendant Interviews. Tips and Secrets to Answering Questions

Before we dissect the SAO (Situation-Action-Outcome) system of answering questions at your airline flight attendant interview, let's just remind ourselves of a few things.

You attend an Airline Interview to secure what many people the world over think is the most fantastic job in the world. To become an airline Flight Attendant!

And so the very reason that an airline interview takes place and you answer a series of questions is to give the interviewer or effectively 'the airline', the opportunity to employ you as a flight attendant. After all, that's what they are trying to do, employ flight attendants.

Unfortunately for you and possibly them is that you only have a miniscule time frame relatively speaking, to tell them how good you are or would be, as a flight attendant. (Please be humble)!

That means that you have to sell yourself. The best way to do that in an interview situation is to relate the interviewer/s questions to your experience and follow the SAO method in your answer!

What's the SAO method to answering questions? The SAO system is a formula that airlines use to identify qualities in a flight attendant applicant by the answer they give to a targeted question. In answering a question you will recall a 'S'ituation or problem, you tell what 'A'ction or remedy you took to right that situation and you summarize what the 'O'ut-come was. (SAO)

While a good interviewer should identify and draw out the required information from you if they think you show promise, don't risk them having to draw the required response out of you and simply give them what they are looking for by being totally complete with your answer in the first response.

That means practice the SAO method with any question that you can think of until you are naturally comfortable with it. Being naturally comfortable is also critical! The best way to be natural is to be confident, utilize your communication skills, have prior knowledge, be prepared and answer relative to your own experience.

And if you practice answering questions relative to your own experience your believability or genuine factor increases because your body language will naturally be in harmony with what you are saying.

It may seem strange but true to some but according to language experts, your answer, or in effect your message is being received by your interviewer in a strangely disproportionate way to what most of us would probably think.

What you say will account to just 7 of your message, and your body language will account to a whopping 55% of your message.

So the message is clear. Take the time to practice and provide answers relative to your own experience. This will enable you to be as naturally comfortable as you can be to display your response positively using the SAO system to answer all questions.

--

Tom Reincke has enjoyed an airline career for more than 16 years both domestically and internationally. Having been a Flight Attendant Cabin Manager for 7 years and a regular participant in Flight Attendant interviews, Tom has written a complete insiders guide to how to become a Flight Attendant which is available at: http://www.flightattendantsecrets.com

Source: http://www.articletrader.com

If you are like thousands of others, you've wanted to or at least thought about becoming an airline flight attendant at some stage in your life. And there is no doubt, becoming an airline flight attendant is the absolute dream of many the world over. No matter where I travel across the globe there are always many questions asked of me from flight attendant hopefuls or soon to be flight attendants about the flight attendant position, but some are definitely asked more often than others.

I guess the two ever burning constant questions that I get from potential flight attendants the world over concern height and weight. It is something that I can associate with because I was no different when I wanted to become an airline flight attendant. Here I have given the answers and some reasoning behind them.

What are the maximum and minimum height guidelines for airline flight attendants?

Not all, but many airline carriers set minimum and maximum height limits for their flight attendants. The primary consideration is firstly the personal safety for that of the flight attendant and the safety of the passenger. Secondly, the delivery of customer service. Safety is identified in the ability to conduct or participate in an evacuation and be able to operate emergency exits. Service is identified in many ways and the ability to reach overhead lockers to provide customer service in luggage stowage and in-flight accessibility of passengers' belongings is just one.

And it only takes minor reasoning to realize that a flight attendants reach which is normally a function of height for meal delivery, is also very important. Especially when participating in serving 200 or more people many times during a tour of duty in a two seat span aircraft.

Similarly height on the maximum scale requires you to be able to move about the cabin safely without fear of hitting your head or body on any aircraft structure.

This might be on an over wing aircraft where the wing structure encroaches head space in the cabin for example or perhaps head space that is encroached by drop down TV screens presents an important consideration for some airlines.

Obviously it becomes a huge consideration for airlines if they were to employ a person of such a stature that was at odds to the work place in which they were required to work. Especially if that work place could potentially hurt that person in the normal course of their duties.

Further, to employ a person that could not carry out the functions of the flight attendant job role which includes both safety and service due to their height or physical capabilities would be silly, dangerous and possibly fatal.

A minimum used by many airlines starts at 1.58m and the maximum for many is stated as 183 cms.

Weight

While the airline flight attendants of yesteryear were perhaps confronted with a set of scales, the modern day weight requirements for flight attendants are weight in proportion to your height. Translated, this means you can look like real people! In most cases your weight has little to with your competency to fulfill the job role as flight attendant. An airline flight attendant must be able to perform the duties required irrespective of weight. Weight from an applicant's perspective will only play its part if it prohibits the flight attendant applicant from performing the duties of a flight attendant.

--

About the Author

Tom Reincke has enjoyed an airline career for more than 16 years both domestically and internationally.

Did you know that more than three million people around the world fly on commercial aircraft every day?

Did you know that Boeing aircraft state that, "In the United States, it's 22 times safer flying in a commercial jet than traveling by car, according to a 1993-95 study by the U.S. National Safety Council. The study compares accident fatalities per million passenger-miles traveled. The number of U.S. highway deaths in a typical six-month period of about 21,000 roughly equals all commercial jet fatalities worldwide since the dawn of jet aviation four decades ago. In fact, fewer people have died in commercial airplane accidents in America over the past 60 years than are killed in U.S. auto accidents in a typical three-month period".

Did you know that aircraft have brakes on their wings?

Aircraft have what they call lift dumpers on their wings that spring up into the air upon landing. This does two things. One, it creates resistance to the oncoming airflow and the disturbance that it creates causes drag. Two, the lift dumpers gradually nullify the lift component of the wing the further they are raised into the air steam. On landing this transfers the aircraft weight from the wings directly to the ground enabling maximum braking effectiveness from the wheel brakes.

These lift dumpers have three protective security safety deployment requirements before they will fully engage to avoid inadvertent full deployment in the air. If of course they did fully deploy in mid air, the aircraft would be in a serious flight situation. The result would defiantly be earth bound!

Did you know that Aircraft are frequently hit by lightning?

In fact, aircraft are designed around the fact that they will be hit by lightning and have special electrical discharge wicks to dissipate the electrical energy from the aircraft when this does happen. These discharge wicks are on the trailing edge of the ailerons, rudder and elevator control surfaces. They are approximately 12 to 20cms long. Without the discharge wicks to disperse the electrical current there would be a substantial risk that the control surface linkages could be welded together resulting in nil response to pilot maneuver commands resulting in a possible catastrophic situation.

Did you know that warm air from the engine is used to heat up the wings?

When outside air temperatures fall below zero and there are atmospheric conditions conducive to icing, then heated air from the engines is drawn from them and routed along the leading edges of the wings. This is to keep the wing above zero degrees so as to prevent the build up of ice on the wings.

Ice formulation on a wing severely disrupts the flow of air over it affecting the capacity of the wing to produce lift. If this was allowed to go to the extreme the lift component of the wing would fall below the point required for the aircraft to fly and the aircraft would literally fall out of the sky. The ice also dangerously adds to the weight of the aircraft which could develop to a catastrophic state itself.

--

About the Author

Tom Reincke has enjoyed an airline career for more than 16 years both domestically and internationally.

There should be no surprise as to what an Airline is looking for from flight attendant applicants in their interviews. All airlines want Flight Attendants that will embrace and propel the corporate image of their airline.

Certainly flight attendants are individuals, but many identifiable traits of a typical flight attendant can be identified. All applicants will be positively cheerful and sport a happy disposition. They will also understand impeccable grooming and professional personal presentation. However for the most part, the successful flight attendant will possess the values and required communication standards of the interviewing Airline, and this can be markedly different between the airlines.

They maybe focused on first class VIP, relaxed business or holiday passengers, however in order to achieve its identifiable corporate image and brand, the airline interview process for flight attendants must identify and adhere to a matrix of values and guidelines upon which they can achieve consistency of a standard amongst their selected flight attendants.

The flight attendant interview selection process must adhere to this matrix template to enable consistent professionalism and fairness in the process and yet allow for the unique differences of every individual in a non discriminative way.

When attending any airline flight attendant interview, impeccable grooming and professional personal presentation must be first and formost. And while many of us can talk amongst our friends, not all of us are good communicators with strangers.

Your knowledge of the airline and enthusiasm for the flight attendant position will also be front and center to some of the questions that you will be expected to answer.

Understand that you will be observed at all times, even before and after your interviews. While this can possibly be nerve racking for some, it will be the questions that you are given during your interview that will probably most challenge you.

And while rote learning of particular specific questions for your flight attendant interview on the whole can be useful, it is not nearly as effective as knowing why and how the interviewer wants a question answered.

When you know the reason for a question being asked and the format required to effectively answer it, any question can be answered with confidence and completeness.

Back ground knowledge of your chosen airline and complete flight attendant interview preparation will certainly dispel any jitters and add to your over all presentation and delivery.

Your knowledge of the airline and that of the flight attendant job role will provide a great reference base upon which to be able to naturally answer any questions. By then drawing on your own experiences when giving an answer you'll be able to provide consistency and accuracy in your answers without fabrication.

So first and foremost be positively cheerful and sport a happy disposition. Understand what impeccable grooming means from an Airline interviewer's perspective and be professional in your personal presentation.

Learn to be a great communicator with all people. Demonstrate your interest and knowledge of the airline and the flight attendant position and relate your personal experiences to the questions asked of you at every opportunity.

And always remember that you will be observed at all times!

While the career path of an airline Flight Attendant is just way too good to miss out on, by knowing the objectives of an Airline during your flight attendant interviews it can't help but provide a greater degree of confidence in what is required.

This can only reflect positively for you in the eyes of your airline Flight Attendant interviewer.

--

Tom Reincke has enjoyed an airline career for more than 16 years both domestically and internationally.
