Pigeons and doves constitute the bird family Columbidae, which include some 300 species of near passerines. In general, dove and pigeon are almost the same. Their names are used interchangeably. And historically the common names for these birds involve a lot of variations. However, there is a tendency for dove to be used for smaller species and pigeon for larger ones. This family of bords occurs worldwide, but the greatest variety is in the Indomalaya and Australasia ecozones.

Pigeons and doves are stout-bodied birds with short necks, and have short slender bills with a fleshy cere. The species commonly referred to just as "pigeon" is the feral Rock Pigeon, common in many cities.

Doves and pigeons build flimsy nests from debris, which may be placed in trees, on ledges or on the ground, depending on species. They lay one or maybe two eggs, and both parents care for the young, which leave the nest after 7 to 28 days. Doves feed on seeds, fruit and plants. Unlike most other birds, the doves and pigeons produce milk, which is secreted by a sloughing of fluid-filled cells from the lining of the crop. Both sexes produce highly nutritious substance to feed to the baby.

Pigeons and doves are distributed everywhere, except for the driest areas of the Sahara Desert, Antarctica and its surrounding islands and the high Arctic. They have colonised most of the world's oceanic islands, reaching eastern Polynesia and the Chatham Islands in the Pacific, Mauritius, the Seychelles and R

--
Article Submission Software, drip articles to all top article sites on the schedule.
Jacaranda The Beautiful Tree

Jacaranda is a kind of flowering plants and native to tropical and subtropical regions of South and Central America. In many parts of the world, the blooming of this tree is welcomed as a sign of spring.

Jacaranda's size varies from 2 to 30 m tall. The leaves are bipinnate in most species, pinnate or simple in a few species. The flowers are produced in conspicuous large panicles, each flower with a five-lobed blue to purple-blue corolla. The fruit is an oblong to oval flattened capsule containing numerous slender seeds.

Several species are widely grown as ornamental plants throughout the subtropical regions of the world, valued for their intense flower displays. The most often seen is the Blue Jacaranda. Some are also commercially important. For example the Jacaranda copaia is important for its timber because of its exceptionally long bole.

Young trees are upright but assume an irregular branching pattern that produces beautifully asymmetric open crowns as the trees age. From April to June the tree covers itself with showy trumpet shaped flowers that are about 1.5 inches wide and are arranged in panicles that grow at the tips of branches.

Most jacarandas are big size trees, and are not for small properties. Occasionally certain varieties are available that are smaller and can be enjoyed in suburban yards and for patio plantings. Since this is a deciduous tree it is best planted among evergreens that will hide its bareness in the winter and provide a green backdrop for the vibrant flowers in the spring. This tree is especially impressive when reflected in the still waters of a lake.

The jacaranda boasts some of the most electric and intense colors that nature has to offer. It stays in bloom for more that 8 weeks, this makes it even more desirable. Jacaranda are inexpensive and easily available from most nurseries and garden centers in areas where it will grow.

Jacaranda prefers enriched sandy, well drained soils but is tolerant of most soil types. It is not a salt tolerant plant. It prefers bright sunny conditions. This tree will tolerate some shade but will bear fewer flowers. It likes moisture but will tolerate some drought. Doesn't like soggy or poorly drained situations. Selected varieties are grafted. But in most situations, it propagates by seed.

Pretoria in South Africa is called as The Jacaranda City due to the enormous number of Jacaranda trees planted as street trees. In flowering time the city appears purple in color. The time of year the Jacarandas bloom in Pretoria coincides with the year-end exams at the University of Pretoria, and students believe that if a Jacaranda flower drops on your head, you will pass all your exams.

The University of Queensland in the city of Brisbane in Australia has a very high concentration of the tree, and due to the impressive display of purple flowers in mid-Spring, students claim that one will not start studying for exams until the jacarandas have molted. At Sydney University, stundets claim a similar expression: By the time the jacaranda in the main quadrangle flowers, it is too late to start studying for exams.

Brisbane's hilly geography allows views of the city and suburbs in which the brightly coloured flowers can be easily seen for miles. The jacaranda has become a part of the city's identity, despite the fact that it only flowers from September through October.

About 70 years ago, when new mothers leaving the hospital, they were given a jacaranda sapling to plant. People believe that is the main reason for the Jacaranda's proliferation in Brisbane.

The city of Grafton on the north coast of New South Wales, Australia, is also famous for its Jacarandas. Every October the city has a Jacaranda festival during the period of full bloom.

Jacaranda is also popular throughout most of southern California. In California, jacarandas are known as the trees that bloom twice a year, although the fall bloom is generally not as striking as the spring bloom.

Jacarandas were introduced to Israel over 50 years ago, where they are in full bloom during May. They are popular and can be found in cities all over Israel.

--
Jacaranda, The beautiful tree.

Source: http://www.articletrader.com

Bougainvillea is a genus of flowering plants native to South America. The name comes from Louis Antoine de Bougainville, an admiral in the French Navy who discovered the plant in Brazil in 1768.

They are thorny, woody, vines growing anywhere from 1-12 meters tall, scrambling over other plants with their hooked thorns. The thorns are tipped with a black, waxy substance. They are evergreen where rainfall occurs all year, or deciduous if there is a dry season. The leaves are alternate, simple ovate-acuminate, 4-13 cm long and 2-6 cm broad. The actual flower of the plant is small and generally white, but each cluster of three flowers is surrounded by three or six bracts with the bright colors associated with the plant, including pink, magenta, purple, red, orange, white, or yellow.

Bougainvillea are relatively pest-free plants, but may suffer from worms and aphids. The larvae of some Lepidoptera species also use them as food plants, for example the Giant Leopard Moth.

Bougainvilleas are popular ornamental plants in most areas with warm climates. Numerous cultivars and hybrids have been selected, including nearly thornless shrubs. Some Bougainvillea cultivars are sterile, and are propagated from cuttings.

Bougainvillea are rapid growing and flower all year in warm climates, especially when pinched or pruned. They grow best in moist fertile soil. Bloom cycles are typically four to six weeks. Bougainvillea grow best in very bright full sun and with frequent fertilization, but the plant requires little water to flower. As indoor houseplants in temperate regions, they can be kept small by bonsai techniques. If overwatered, Bougainvillea will not flower and may lose leaves or wilt, or even die from root decay.

Bougainvillea flowers are tiny white flowers that usually appear in clusters surrounded by colorful papery bracts, hence the name paper flower. Single and double flower forms are available. The woody trunk tends to be twisted and the thin stem have sharp thorns and dark green leaves. Bougainvilleas can be easily grown as a hedge, an arch or a tree on the ground and in pots. Bougainvilleas available in a variety of species, is ideal for bonsai.

Planting Bougainvillea may be grown from root cuttings and branch cuttings. Cuttings can propagate plants easily. Cuttings should be planted in a shady area until they form roots. The shoots, a few inches in length, can be replanted in sandy soil with bottom heat and moisture. Half-ripened or old woodcuttings in six to twelve inch lengths may be rooted April to June. Bougainvillea does best in dry conditions. They need full sunlight, warm weather and well drained soil to flower well.

Bougainvillea will thrive in almost any soil as long as it is well-drained and fertile. Soils that work for other plants you grow will be fine for your bougainvillea.

CULTURAL REQUIREMENTS:
Exposure: full sun, heat tolerant
Water: moderate user but drought tolerant; may need water 1-2 times per week in hottest part of year
Soil: adaptable, okay in rocky or sandy soil, amendments beneficial but not necessary
Propagation: vegetative cuttings, very easy
Maintenance: fairly high, bract cleanup, annual pruning of frost damage, training

--
Good quality content provided by Link Submission Service, Collection of Free Content.

Source: http://www.articletrader.com

Are you a new business owner contemplating your computer network support needs? Or have you owned a business for a while, but find yourself in need of a more reliable business IT support system? If you don't have those resources already built in to your company structure, or you simply don't have the budget room to accommodate the kind of IT team you need, you may wish to consider outsourcing to a company that provides computer networking services on a remote basis. Imagine having everything operate smoothly from day to day, without even having to see the folks that are making it happen unless you absolutely have to.

If you're looking for a reliable way to have your business IT support needs met, you likely are wanting to hire the best people you can find to maintain, upgrade, and repair aspects of your technology infrastructure. You'll want to make sure that within the team providing your computer networking services, each member is qualified, experienced, and licensed in accordance with industry standards. Start by assessing your computer network support and IT needs, and then shop around for a company with the competence to address those needs at a cost you can afford. Speaking of cost, remember that although outsourcing IT services can be a considerable investment, it will more than pay for itself by helping to keep your business running smoothly and growing at a steady pace.

So, you've hired a third party company to handle your computer networking services. What's next? Well, from now on, the team you contracted will be monitoring your system around the clock, installing the necessary protective programs and upgrades, and working consistently and proactively to prevent business-stunting problems from rearing their ugly heads. Problems will, of course, happen from time to time, but when they do, many of them will be solved using remote support provided by your IT company. Should the problem stem from the actual equipment and require on-site assistance, then make sure the company you hire is set up to provide that when necessary.

Many folks have had sub-par experiences with tech support, but that should never be the case in the event that you have invested in competent and reliable computer networking services. The best thing you can do is to educate your staff on how to handle communications with the remote business IT support team. Find out your options and protocol for communication when a problem arises. In most cases, IT team will have caught these issues before you even notice them, but when they don't, make sure to provide as much detail about the problem as possible.

--
Written by Mel Bryson.
Conference Centre

Organizing a conference can be incredibly easy if you have planned well in advance. There are several things that you must keep in mind while booking a conference centre.

In the UK, there is no dearth of conference venues. However, you must not select a venue with your eyes closed. You need to put in a lot of thought while planning for a conference.

The choice of a conference centre has to be backed by sufficient research and adequate planning. Before you hire a venue, the most important factor you must consider is accessibility. You must ensure that the participants of the conference find it easy to arrive at the chosen conference centre, whether it is in Oxfordshire or Leicestershire. Any inconvenience caused to the participants can create a delay in the start of the conference, leading to monetary losses and wastage of time.

The planning stage can be quite simple as compared to the execution. After you have made all the arrangements, it is essential that you cross check and conduct an inspection to see if everything is all right. Inspection is a vital aspect of all planning. After you have chosen a conference centre and closed the deal with the organizers, you need to carry out a site inspection. There have been instances in the past when the venue providers failed to make the necessary arrangements after the booking has been done. In addition to the resentment caused, you would also lose valuable time in looking for an alternative. Prior to the start of the conference, drive down to the venue to see if the site is well prepared for the conference. The professionalism of a venue provider is best evidenced from the commitment they have showed to prepare the venue in the best way possible. A site visit will tell you if the organizers have been remiss or efficient.

When you visit the conference centre, make sure you speak to the venue staff as well. The marketing team would, at times, present you a different picture of the venue and make grand promises. It is the interaction with the staff that will give you the complete picture. When the staff is friendly and helpful, it is certain that the attendees will be treated well and the event will be successful. On the other hand, rude and inefficient staff can affect the event in a negative way.

A very important part of planning for a conference is the choice of the conference date. Ensure that there no other events concurring with the conference date. It is possible that most conference centres will be booked if there is a major event happening. Moreover, the rates are likely to be higher as well, if the venues are over-booked. Hence, plan well in advance and choose a date appropriately. At the same time, road shows during special events can block the roads, leading to late starts and inaccessibility of the centre by the participants.

While booking a conference centre, make sure you discuss the purpose of the conference with the providers. The venue will make the necessary arrangements based on the type of conference being organized. Well-informed providers can offer suggestions that can help in making the event a bigger success than you had originally planned. At the same time, you can mention any specific requirements in terms of the capacity, the seating arrangement, accommodation, etc.

Catering plays a very important role in conference planning. Most venues have a standard caterer for any conference arranged there. However, it is essential that the menu suit the lifestyle and the eating habits of the attendees. When you have a multi-cultural audience, it is imperative that you go the extra mile to ensure that they are offered a menu that suits their palate. If any of the attendees are on a special diet, you would want to consider this factor as well. Make sure the conference centre follows specific instructions with regard to the catering requirements.

For every event, the conference centre has to provide a single point of contact to eliminate confusion and mayhem. It is highly essential that the organizers and the providers co-ordinate seamlessly to make the appropriate arrangements. The single point of contact has to communicate effectively with the representative of your company right from the planning stage to the end of the conference. Additionally, the contact person can help you with any special requests that you have. He can assist you by offering you information about the people you need to contact to place additional requests.

Most conference centres do not make changes to the original agreement after the deal has been closed. It is essential that you check with the venue provider about this aspect. If there is any urgent requirement halfway through the conference, you would want the provider to co-operate with you on the requirements. Hence, discuss this aspect before signing the agreement with the venue.

--
Jigsaw Conferences venue finder team is a specialist corporate venue finding agency and because we are funded by hotels and conference venues, the service we offer is completely FREE.
Group Travel: Traveling For Less

Admit it, vacation is your favorite time of year. Not only do you feel more relaxed and "like yourself" than you do during busy work weeks, but you get to experience more of the world, meet new people, and try new things. Studies have long proven that vacation is actually quite good for you, increasing your immune system's function, and sharpening your senses. After two weeks on vacation, subjects in studies were able to concentrate better, focus for longer, had faster reflexes, better memories, and were getting an hour more of quality sleep than they were before their departure. Sounds pretty good, right?

Well, it is. Which is why you should be thinking in terms of discount vacation packages for this year's vacation. Many people, frightened by the economic happenings over the past few months- and they haven't been too cheering- have begun to cut spending in an effort to save their budget. Cutting the fat out is something that can be good to do when you are facing a tight budget, and pinching pennies has long been a respected way to save money. However, if you start cutting into your quality of life, it isn't going to matter how many pennies you actually pinched. If you skip all your vacations, you won't function as well, you won't be as happy, and there isn't going to be much that can be done to change that.

The obvious answer isn't to cancel your plans, but rather, to change them. For example, did you know that you could go on discount cruises, rather than paying the full rate? You don't get any less of a vacation, either. Oh no, this is the exact same cruise that many others paid full price for. There are two main ways that people get these discounted tickets. One is group travel, in which bulk rates on tickets afford everyone a lower price. The other way to get to go on discount cruises is to buy last minute tickets via the agencies that sell them. When it comes close to time for the ship to sail, tickets that aren't sold become available for enticingly low prices. This does mean that you'll need to be able to get yourself to the departure point quite quickly, but the saving that you're getting on the cruise usually render that a non-issue. For those who live in port cities, it's even easier- just catch a ride to the dock and off you go.

Whether it's group travel or solo cruising, there are other ways to save money as well. One of them is to set a budget for your cruise and stick to it. It might seem tempting to buy all those duty-free items on board, but think about it- there's no competition, it's a closed market. How can you know that you're getting a fair price? Secondly, limit the amount of alcohol you drink, as it will likely be the one food/drink item that you have to pay for.

--
Written by Mel Bryson.
Modern Musicians Use Music Social Networks

21st century musicians have a veritable treasure trove of marketing and PR resources right at their fingertips. All they need to do is go online and get involved in the music social network or networks that seem appropriate to them and conducive to their success. With the proliferation of music social networks online, musicians also have the ability to connect with fans and promote and sell their music online. The edge artists get from using a musical social networking site for these activities is that they have more control over how their music is promoted and they can make more of a personal connection with their audience.

Using a music social networking site, bands can sell their music with their own pricing attached. They also have the option of selling individual tracks as well as the album as a whole. Having control means that bands can price their albums to sell, and possibly even pick up some extra sales by attracting potential clients with individual tracks. While most social music networks will take a cut off of sales, that cut is infinitely smaller than the one that would be taken if you went the traditional route.

Music production these days is a costly endeavor. There is no such a thing as a "free" or even "cheap" day at the studio; however, there are tons of musicians out there recording music left and right that never reaches the ears of the listeners who alone have the power to propel it up the charts. Additionally, promoting the music once it has been produced requires yet another massive investment, and even more so if the musicians don't already have a solid following.

Album sales aren't really a reliable and steady form of income for most music artists. The real money is in playing gigs, in being on tour, and selling merchandise. The artist usually averages less than 20¢ profit out of a $17 CD. Not exactly a large chunk of change, although a reasonable sum if record sells are in the millions. Of course, selling a million records isn't something that just happens to musicians overnight. But that's where a music social networking site can help.

Music social networks thrive because fans appreciate having personal (or as close to personal as they can get) interaction with their favorite performers. Fans love reading online journals and blogs written by band members from on the road, or inside the recording studio, for instance. Fans in your music social network love getting to see the tour dates before anyone else, having access to free mp3's, the insider scoop on band gossip, and many other perks that you should be willing to share with them in order to build a report.

--
Written by Mel Bryson. Music social networking site that provides a music social network and store for artists and listeners.
Fashion is fairly cyclical thing, when you look at it. Hemlines rise and fall, as do waistlines. Pant legs taper, they flair, they straighten back out...you can see where this is going. Fashion is constantly in flux, and those who inform it hold a great deal of power over what the trends will look like in the coming season. Brown is the new black, and all such nonsense. When it comes right down to it, fashion is all about having the time, money and interest to invest in how you appear. Now, there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. We are in a culture that cares a great deal about the packaging, and as such, it is not only normal, but encouraged, to pay attention to one's style of dress.

Western wear was born out of necessity, and while life out west is much more comfortable these days, many of the elements- such as the horses, the cattle, and all the hard work that comes with ranches, farms and riding remains the same. Saddles haven't much changed since then, and cowboy boots still need to be worn when riding, for practical and safety reasons. Likewise, rodeos have grown up out of this culture, creating another instance where fashion is born directly out of the clothing worn (not as style, but as function).

What is important to recognize here is that western apparel has never gone out of style, and the reason for this is that it's never ceased to be useful. Ranch workers never woke up and realized that they could do their work in something else. While western wear has evolved over the years and there are more protective garments today than there were at the advent of this style of clothing, much of it remains the same. As such, it really can't "go out of style" and in most cases, western apparel will be worn regardless. It has worked its way into fashions across the States as well. You'll see cowboy boots from New York to California and just about everywhere in between.

One of the reasons that western apparel can make the jump from work wear to fashion wear so easily is that it doesn't add unnecessary additions to the clothing in order to make it fancier. For example, a western wear skirt is unlikely to suddenly have lots of ruffles, but it might well feature decorative stitching. As far as cowboy boots go, decorative inlays and stitching are what make the boots unique from one maker to another. It also is the difference between the boots you'll wear while mucking out stalls and the boots you'll wear for a night out on the town, listening to music and dancing.

--
Written by Mel Bryson.
