Drying the meat at low temperatures and often salting or seasoning it was one of the earliest forms of food preservation and is often used to this day to create a perfect and tasty on the go snack.

While there are many commercial store varieties available to today’s consumer nothing can beat that home made beef jerky flavor and taste.

Creating your own recipes allows you to accentuate the flavors that you want to bring out of the meat, and you are by no means limited to using variations on the beef theme as “Jerky” can be made from many meats including turkey, fish, chicken, pork and even venison.

Most of today’s homemade beef jerky recipes include liquid smoke and soy sauce among other flavoring ingredients as a marinade to prepare the meat for slow drying in a conventional oven.

The following is a tasty and easy homemade beef jerky recipe to get you started:

Ingredients for the Marinade:

1/2 cup Soy sauce
2 Table Spoons Worstershire sauce
2 teaspoons Garlic powder
2 teaspoons Onion powder
2 teaspoons Freshly ground black pepper
2 teaspoons Red pepper flakes, less if you prefer a milder beef jerky
2 Table Spoons Liquid smoke

You will also need 2 pounds of London Broil or other lean roast.

To begin making your homemade Beef Jerky start by freezing the London Broil or other lean roast, for at least several hours to make it easier to slice. When you are ready to make beef jerky, remove the roast from the freezer and let partially thaw. When just able to slice, first remove all fat and then slice against the grain in thin (1/4 inch or less) slices.

Cover the meat with the marinade, turn made from the above recipe it marinade overnight. In the morning line a shallow cookie sheet with a few layers of paper towels.
Place on the lower rack of your oven. Place the upper rack in your oven in the top position and lower rack in lower or lowest position.

Hang the beef slices from the upper rack with tooth picks above the paper towels. 6 hours at 160 degrees Fahrenheit average temp is about right. If your oven is real tight, you might crack open the door a bit to allow the water vapor to escape.

After 6 hours give a try to your new homemade beef jerky and I can almost guarantee that you will not find the store bought kind as appetizing as you once did.

Since the legal limit in New York is .08, he was released immediately with an agreed upon bail of $7,500. Next time he might think twice on leaving with his overly tinted truck.

If you have a small bust, you want to look for a suit that will accentuate your petite upper body. Opt for a bikini top that has an underwire or padding to maximize your bust. When you are pulled over for suspicion of driving under the influence you will be asked to take a Breathalyzer test and/or a field sobriety test. If you are over the age of twenty one then your blood alcohol content level must be below .08.

If you are under the age of twenty one then your blood alcohol content level must be below .02. This is because the legal drinking age is twenty one so if your blood alcohol content level is above .02 then you are drinking alcohol illegally which is also a crime.

There are consequences associated with being arrested for a DUI in the state of Washington. You can be convicted of the DUI if you are under the influence of alcohol or drugs while you are operating a motor vehicle. If you refuse to take a Breathalyzer test or your blood alcohol level test show that your alcohol content level is over .08 then your driver’s license will be suspended or revoked. If the offense is serious enough then you will have to go to trial which could end up causing you to pay a steep fine, do community service, or without the services of a good DUI defense attorney you may even go to jail.

If you refuse a Breathalyzer test then your driver’s license will be suspended for at least one year. If your blood alcohol content level was below .15 then your license is suspended for ninety days. If your blood alcohol content level was above .15 then your license is suspended for one year.

At the courts discretion you might have an ignition interlock device installed in your car as a punishment for driving under the influence. This means that you have to blow into a Breathalyzer test that is attached to the steering wheel. If your blood alcohol content level is over the limit then your steering wheel locks up and you cannot steer your car.

The last punishment for driving under the influence is alcohol treatment and counseling. This is to help you better educate yourself about the dangers and consequences of driving under the influence.

Driving under the influence is a serious offense to commit. You should not drink and drive or use drugs while operating a motor vehicle. You are not only risking your life, but you are also risking the lives of others. If you are going to drink consider getting a designated driver or a taxi to take you home. It will help protect your life and the lives of others and will cost far less in the long run.
