Centuries later, having drank blood enough to fill a thousand lakes, the vampire has again found the soul of his loved one...in the person a college freshman, Charlotte [Alyssa Milano]. But the vampire is fated to soon fall into eternal sleep. He has only three days to possess Charlotte's soul.

Charlotte must willingly give her virgin self to him. Unfortunately, for the vampire, Charlotte is in love with her horny boyfriend who is trying very hard to seal the deal himself with Charlotte, so the vampire plans to sow seeds of doubt between Charlotte and her boyfriend, Chris [Harrison Pruett]. In the process of watching this plot unfold, Alyssa Milano goes from innocent schoolgirl to a naughty, slightly slutty schoolgirl, and showing off her breasts in generously. Many filmmakers say that what’s on the screen is only half the movie, the other half is to be found in the soundtrack, carefully crafted by talented composers and musicians to elicit emotions of excitement, fear, sadness and joy in the viewer. Once of the major benefits of watching moves on DVD or hi-def formats is the availability of faithful reproductions of the multi-channel sound that can, when fed through a reasonable home system, sound even better than in many modern movie-theatres.

When most consumers go down to the store and pick up a big new flat screen plasma or LCD TV, they may think that they are all set and ready to go. In fact, the sound provided by even an expensive top-of-the-range TV is incredibly limited, providing little or no low-frequency response, producing only a flat, distorted version of the movies music, and generating little or no directionality. If they are good at anything, it is producing clear, audible dialogue, but that’s pretty much it.

Modern movie soundtracks contain so much more information; they contain multiple channels so the viewer perceives the sound to be coming from a particular direction, such as a plane flying overhead, or dialogue coming from left or the right. They also contain low-frequency information, to reproduce deep bone-shaking sounds such as explosions or rumbling engines. To be able to access and hear all this extra information you need a dedicated home theatre audio system.

The basic home theatre audio system consists of an amplifier and multi-channel speaker set. The job of the amplifier is to decode and then amplify the multiple audio tracks present on the disc. To do this, it needs to be connected to the DVD or Blu-Ray player by a data-cable. A fiber-optic digital audio cable (also known as a TOS-link cable) will be needed for DVD’s, but to decode next-generation hi-def audio will require a HDMI cable connection. The HDMI cable also carries the video stream, so most amplifiers will have a HDMI out socket, allowing the video information to continue on to the TV or projector.

In terms of power, a quality separate amplifier be marked somewhere in the 80-100 watt range, which is plenty for watching a movie in the average family home. Beware amplifiers that are built into DVD players, or into a speaker set, they are usually underpowered and will perform poorly. The most demanding audio signals to reproduce are the low-frequency type; so many speaker-sets will have “active” sub-woofers, which have small dedicated amplifiers built in.

Speakers for home-cinema can be purchased in packages of matched sets, or individually, allowing you to mix fronts from one manufacturer with rears from another. In general, purchasing a set of matched speakers is the best option for beginners and will produce a very good sound. Unlike regular stereo speakers, home cinema speaker-sets are generally split into dedicated low and mid/high frequency speakers, with the sub-woofer speaker handling the low-frequency sounds by itself. This works because it is very difficult to detect the direction of low-frequency sounds, so it does not matter where in the room the sub-woofer is placed. By contrast the direction of mid and high frequency sounds is easier to detect, so speaker-placement is key, with left/ right speakers best positioned level with the screen and widely spaced apart, the central speaker positioned directly beneath the screen, and the rear speakers positioned diagonally facing the viewer from behind. This setup is for a 5.1 speaker set, which is all that is really required for proper directionality, although 6.1 and 7.1 sets are available.

Amitabh and Shahrukh in Bhoothnath

One of the much awaited latest hindi movies of Bollywood ‘Bhoothnath’ is going to be released on coming 9th May 2008. The film ‘Bhoothnath’ is about a bond between a departed grandfather (which is played by Amitabh Bachchan) and his grandson (played by Aman Siddique). The grandfather returns to his grandson as a ghost named ‘Bhoothnath’. Famous Bollywood actress Juhi Chawla is playing the role of widowed mother of the boy and Shahrukh Khan is playing the role of father of the boy.

After a long gap, ‘Bhoothnath’, one of the most awaited upcoming hindi movies brings together the two supremos — Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan. In between, rumours were flying left, right and centre about the tension between the two actors and that the once good friends weren’t interested in working with each other anymore. The director of the film Vivek Sharma says, “Shah Rukh Khan plays the husband of Juhi Chawla in the film. He is the father of Aman Siddique. SRK is a very naughty father who encourages his son to play pranks. Since he is not an integral character, we have delayed his promotion for the film. He will be seen in a few days in the film’s last week prior to release, promotions. We wanted to use him as a surprise package. Lot of people feel that he is just there for two-three minutes, but he is there for 22 minutes in the film. If we tell more about him, the surprise element will go away. Also, the film belongs to Banku (Aman Siddique) and Bhoothnath (Amitabh Bachchan).We did not want to misguide the audience by promising that it is a Shah Rukh Khan and Amitabh Bachchan film.”

‘Bhoothnath’ is the seventh film where Shahrukh and Amitabh are acting together. Other films are Mohabbatein, Veer Zaara, Paheli, Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham etc. Other castings of this film are Rajpal Yadav, Satish Shah, and Tejas etc. In an interview, the leading actor of this film Amitabh Bachchan has been asked that why he is doing ‘Bhoothnath’? Amitabh Bachchan replied, “I and Kuku (Ravi Chopra) are very old friends. He used to often come to me with this ‘ghost’ story but I never showed much interest. At one point I even said no but then the director Vivek Sharma started crying so I took an emotional decision and said yes. It was a very nostalgic experience shooting for the film.” Also he has explained working experience with SRK, when he has been asked about SRK, “We have done many films together. He is a very dedicated actor and it’s always good working with him. He has a small role in the film but a good one. We had a nice time shooting and used to play games and chat during our free time. I wish he was here for the event.”

Now, Hollywood super-couple Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are looking to set up a holiday haven on the French Riviera. They were recently spotted strolling the beaches while reportedly shopping for a private villa.

Jolie and Pitt have become more than entertainers. In fact, Time Magazine's recent 100 Most Influential List describes them as heroes and pioneers. On a recent trip to Monaco, they met up with fellow humanitarian The Edge while hunting for a holiday home. While they were looking in Monaco at the time, Jolie and Pitt have often expressed their love for France. Jolie wants to have a permanent French base, so the couple is looking for the perfect place to raise their children.

Their twins were born in mid-July in Nice, in the south of France, just twenty minutes from Monaco. The twins weighed around five pounds each and were delivered by Caesarean section. Pitt stayed by his partner's side while she was in labor and through the entire operation. Mother, father and babies are said to be doing well.

Jolie gave one of the twins the middle name Marcheline, in honor of her French-Canadian mother who died in 2007. Though her mother was often identified as French, Jolie insists that her mother was "as far from French Parisian as you can get." Jolie's second son, Pax, also received his name from a suggestion by Marcheline shortly before her death.

Jolie and Pitt have had both commercial and critical success in their careers. Jolie's early career is marked by technological-thrillers such as Hackers and made-for-cable-movies like Gia, for which she received an Emmy nomination. She won an Oscar for her role in Girl Interrupted, before becoming box-office royalty with her role as Lara Croft in the Tomb Raider films.
