The process and art of creating pictures is called photography. Basically, film cameras, digital cameras, digital video cameras or camcorders are the equipment used to store the resulting information chemically or electronically. As a result, photography offers many profitable benefits including markets for business, science, and art.
Markedly, a historic camera, the Contax S, was the first pentaprism SLR; it was introduced in the year 1949. Additionally, the Nikon F was the first 35mm film system camera and was introduced in the year 1959. Furthermore, photography's products are called negatives and photographs are known as photos today. From its inception, photography has captured the interest of many artists, scientist and amateurs alike. Scientists have used photography to study and record movements. On the other hand, artists try to explore ways other than the photo-mechanical representation of reality. Moreover, the military, law enforcement officers, and security forces use photography for recognition, surveillance and data storage purposes. Photography is used by amateurs to preserve precious memories of special times and moments, to tell stories and for entertainment. Similarly, many mobile phones contain cameras now to practice these types of usage.

Subsequently, commercial advertising relies on photography, substantially. It has contributed significantly to its development. Thereupon, the first known photograph was taken by Joseph Nicéphore Niépce in 1825. The image shows a man leading a horse. In essence, photography is the result of a combination of several technical discoveries. Thus, the book entitled Giphantie, published in 1760, by the French author Tiphaigne de la Roche, described what can be understood as photography.

Even more so, photography goes as far back as the 1820s with the development of chemical photography. Nevertheless, because this photograph took so long to expose, a new process was being pursued. In 1939, Louis Daguerre took the first ever photo of a person. Eventually, the country of France agreed to pay Daguerre a pension for his formula in exchange for his promise to announce his discovery to the whole world. He did so, as regconition for his country.
After reading about Louis Daguerre's invention, William Fox Talbot refined his process, making it readily available to consumers. By 1840, Talbot had invented the calotype process, which creates negative images. John Herschel invented the cyanotype process, now known as the blueprint. He was also the first to use the terms photography, negative and positive; he made the first glass negative in late 1839, as well. Many advancements in photographic glass plates and printing were made throughout the nineteenth century. Lastly, in 1884, George Eastman developed film techology to replace photographic plates, leading to the technology used by film cameras today.

--
Paul Francis Robertson was born in Galveston, TX, on August 23, 1953. He acquired a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics and Technology from Texas Southern University in Houston, TX, on May 17, 1975, Currently, Paul Francis Robertson is an entrepreneur and a small business owner of the PAUL F ROBERTSON Co. of Small Business Sevices, located in his hometown of Texas City, TX.

Source: http://www.articletrader.com

Review of Minolta X-300 35mm SLR camera

I bought my Minolta X-300 (the older one with metal body) sometime in 1995. I sold it for SGD$250 and bought a X-700 (big mistake!). Several cameras and many years later, I bought back the same X-300 for SGD$125. The difference is that this time, I recognize the quality of the lens and camera body.

The Minolta X-300 is a metal body, manual focus camera with Aperture Priority (AUTO) mode. It does not have DOF preview and does rely on batteries (no battery-no click). It has a shutter speed range of B, 1 s to 1/1000s. Full information (full range of shutter speed with LED indication) is displayed in the viewfinder. I feel this is superior to the +/- exposure readings that can be found in some Nikon bodies. The X-370 is a current production camera with a plastic body. I have not used it but the features are the same.

My camera comes with the standard 35-70mm zoom. And for a zoom lens, it is very sharp. I hear that original Minolta lenses are mostly really sharp. Metering is spot on. The controls are simple and intuitive. It feels as solid as my FM3a (and more so than my 500N). I have not seen the need to send it for repairs as yet.

It loses out somewhat due to the (slow) top shutter speed of 1/1000s, no DOF preview and it depends on battery. But on the battery point, I must add that it has the same battery now as when I bought it in 1995.

My 2-cents:
If you are looking for a learning camera that doubles as a quick point and shoot, the Minolta is a great choice. The second hand lenses can be had for a song and the quality is fantastic.

Did I mention I got mine for SGD$125 (or USD$70)?

Good Points:
Easy to use.
Long serving.
Good build.
Extremely sharp lenses.

Bad Points:
Only up to 1/1000s shutter speed.
Relies on battery.

--
For more camera reviews like this one: visit Review Centre.

Source: http://www.articletrader.com

This is a tough decision. I have the Xsi (Canon 450D). I immediately wanted more zoom range. You will miss the range your Powershot has compared to the kit lens.

Before my daughter ' s graduation, I had a little windfall profit, and I found a 18-200 OS Quantaray on craigslist. That is not the best lens, but I don't see it being worse than my kit lens, and the zoom range is WONDERFUL! My next lens will be the 50mm 1.8.

I bought my camera the way they suggested because I was going on a rare trip to the coast. I don't regret doing this one bit. I already had some money saved up, so I paid it off in a few months.

I have had the camera since august and I am still learning things it can do. I believe that right now, the Nikon has better mid range cameras, but that was not my price range. When I am ready to move up, I believe Canon will have closed the gap with Nikon in that price range.

I will say, that moving up from a smaller digital camera, many times miss the pocketability. Get use to carrying around more stuff. I have missed shots while digging out the DSLR out of the bag.

Good for you, saving up and moving up!

Good Points:
Good Value!

--
For more digital camera reviews such as this one: http://www.reviewcentre.com/review540210.html visit Review Centre.

Source: http://www.articletrader.com

What makes a poster very captivating are the images used to create this print material. Images draw people's attention and add a lot of creativity to poster prints, making them great wall displays for business establishments and homes. Aside from graphic designs, photography can also be a good choice for adding images to your print posters. Keep your creative juices flowing to come up with photography ideas that you can apply on your print posters.

•	City Lights: Look for a perfect place where you can take photos of the city at night and get ready for some camera shutter action. The good thing about taking photos at night is that you can discover and see things that you won't be able to see by day. This gives you a lot of opportunity to take amazing photos despite the presence of natural light coming from the sun.

•	Panning: Take photos of a subject in motion like a moving car, running dog or people walking in a busy street. Keep your focus on the moving subject and follow its movement to create a blurry background and solid subject.

•	Negative Space: This is basically the space around your subject. Negative space may look simple in composition, but its simplicity is what makes this photography idea stand out. For instance, you can use a flying bird as your subject while still emphasizing its background. This allows your background to take majority of the frame, and your subject still noticeable.

•	Nature: This photography idea gives you a number of subjects to choose from. Wait for the rain to stop and take photos of rain droplets left on the leaves in your garden. Go outside and explore the possible photo subjects that you can use for your posters.

Bring out the best in your poster prints by seeking the expertise of a reputable online printer that offers high-quality poster printing services. Investing on top quality printing is the best solution for you to come up with vibrant and clear print posters.

--
More topics on Print Posters can be found at Poster Printing.

Source: http://www.articletrader.com

Quilt Binding and Quilt Binding Alternatives

Binding a quilt is accomplished when our add fabric to the outer edges of the material to finish it off. There are a number of different binding choices you can make when you're ready.

First, figure out if you want homemade or purchased binding. It's very easy to bind with store bought fabrics; and, you can purchase it in packages that are ready to use on your quilt. If you choose this route, look for Wrights, which is one of the better fabric companies that offers a variety of binding types that are complete with instructions.

Do you want Straight Grain or Bias? If you go with the straight grain binding, you will want to make your cuts perpendicular to the selvage of the material. There isn't much stretch when its cut this way, but it's good for straight edge quilts.

Bias binding, on the other hand, is created from fabric strips cut at a 45 degree angle to the fabric selvage. It is, by contrast, stretchy and flexible which is perfect for quilts that have curvy edges. With the bias cut, it will stretch along the curves while still lying flat when completed.

Double or Single Layers? With single layer binding, you use the least amount of fabric material which is just great for quilts that aren't used much. Double layering is more suited to quilts that will be used more, because the binding provides a really sturdy edge that can be washed regularly with no breakdown.

Hand Sewn or By Machine? You can use both a machine and by hand methods or a combination of both of them. One of the more popular methods is called French double binding which is attached by using a machine and hand sewing. It gives straight edge quilts something extra.

Alternatives to Quilt Binding

If you're not into quilt binding, there are alternatives which include wrapping the backing fabric around to the front of the quilt and binding it that way. Called self-binding, this means that you need to have the backing of the quilt to be bigger than the top of the quilt by at least 1 1/2". You will use this excess fabric to fold it in half around the front of the quilt. You can then sew it down along the front side edge either by hand or on your machine. Beginning quilters find this method useful for a quick way to finish their quilts.

You can also add material on the edge of the quilt. Called Prairie Points, the additions are square fabric pieces that are folded twice to form a triangular shape. These are then placed along the quilt edges at the top and sewn into place. Afterwards, the backing is folded in and sewn over the edges of the raw prairie points to finish off.

Which ever way you decide to bind your quilt, it will be one of your final decisions besides whether you're going to keep or giveaway your creation.

--
Tammy L.
It is like a dream come true when you get a chance to take a closer look at your favorite world renowned celebrities, whom you admire and adore. Die-hard fans of celebrities are ready to do anything to get their glimpse. Such fans like to preserve CDs, photos, clothes and many such things autographed by these celebrities. These things become valuable and can be preserved for the lifetime.

If you are looking for your favorite movie star's autograph, you can find the same easily on their signed photos. Signed photos are easily available at numerous memorabilia collectibles stores.

How to search for the best signed photographs?

Searching for an authentic celebrity signed photograph is a real problem arising for the fans. However, if you follow the below mentioned steps before buying any hand signed photograph of your favorite star, you will face no difficulty in buying the same. Also, chances are that you might never get cheated.

• Do a ground research on signed photographs, either through window shopping or by logging on internet and doing some web browsing

• After you find a good signed photograph of your favorite star at a store, check their past records, goodwill and their existing consumer's review.

• After doing this, you get a certificate of authentication for making a purchase. However, before making an actual purchase, you should check whether the photographs are appraised by the professionals or not. A professional appraiser is the one who will look at all single and minor effects on the photo for its quality, rarity and signature and will make it worthy.

• Before buying a signed photo, the most important factor to notice is that the photo should not only bears the name of the celebrity in form of a signature, but it also holds a real name signature from the celebrity.

You may find many photographs of celebrities, framed with copies or preprint. However, most of these signed photographs are not original because most of the companies learn to earn money by cheating others. This is not an end though, because the market has some genuine vendors who sell signed autographs on photos, which are signed by the celebrities themselves. Thus, you need to be sure that you buy these memorabilia and signed photographs from a store that has a strong reputation and holds a good past record. You should also make an effort to read the reviews of the current users and buyer.

--
If you are looking for some authentic signed photos, you should check out everythingcollectobles.com.
Digital camera has become the most popular type of camera today. Ten to fifteen years ago, they were not nearly used as much today if at all. That shows how technology slowly but surely changes. Digital cameras are generally easy to carry and you do not have to worry about film and stuff, and you could just post photos on computer and show them on internet via e-mail, facebook, myspace, and other sources on computer and internet. That shows how valuable technology, computers, and digital cameras are today.

Most people live like they can barely imagine life without computer and internet. Digital cameras make picture obtaining very easy and less time consuming. However, not everyone has a digital camera because of the prices and it is not always easy to decide on what digital camera to get because normal people want an easy to use camera to take pictures and show them on computer today that comes at a not very expensive price, and that lasts a long time. Camera enthusiasts would probably go with a camera that has focus, good display, and all kinds of good features, but for some people like me it is OK to have a digital camera and all you do is take a picture with a press of a button.

Jazz Digital Camera is one of the simple cameras that could be for average people. USB cable is there to be able to transfer photos to a computer. Jazz Digital Camera is a good choice for those who want to be able to e-mail pictures and post pictures on websites. Jazz JDC9 is the technical name for such camera that is less expensive at an area easy to shop for, in front of the computer. If a digital camera is not something a buyer is in a market for, the Jazz JDC9 makes a great gift as a birthday present or other occasion present because of the quality and price. Plenty of people might be missing a camera, so it may be possible to help yourself or others make Jazz JDC9 a very good fit to own. It would be ideal for kids and college students to have a Jazz Digital Camera. Jazz JDC9 may not feature what other brands like Polaroid or Canon have, but the Jazz JDC9 is cheaper and gets the job done for most people.

--
http://jazzcameradigital.totalwarehouse.com
http://ikozliak-electronics.blogspot.com

Source: http://www.articletrader.com

Art Value Of Canvas Wrapping Methods

Now, my dear reader, I do not want to go deep into the inside of the various canvas technologies, printers, the ways and methods or the like that allow producing of a qualitative canvas art product. Currently I would like to discuss the artistic or visual aspect of canvas stretching as well as sharing my opinion on the three fundamental opportunities of canvases` wrapping.

To tell you the truth, among many various methods I want now to single out the three typical and different techniques. These techniques include printing on canvas, canvas transfer and original oil on canvas. The first one is a simple wrapping method. The canvas is wrapped on the frame. 100 % of the image is placed on the front side. On the lateral side you can see just staples of the canvas edges. The second method is so called a museum type. It is the method where the white canvas wraps around the edges to the back. This type thus allows hiding staples on the back of the canvas. The sides are at the owner's disposal as he can use them as his or her own purposes. You are free to leave the sides white or paint them black, or to do them the same color as the artwork image. The important factor on which you should draw your attention is the image position. The total image or the most important elements of the image have to be stretched on the centre of the canvas otherwise nobody understands the main target and art value of the canvas. Gallery stretching is the third method of canvas prints. The image itself is stretched all around the sides and onto the back edge. The staples are hidden on the back.

For sure, the second and the third technique you can hand with or without a frame. On the other hand, the image that sits on sides of the canvas might be lost. So, it is up to the customer's taste whether to make a canvas in a bleed or non bleed style. Be careful when you decide to create a piece of art like canvas. Especially, if you are going to gift it with some warm and kind words in say the right corner...Be sure, that the person who gets your present can read the whole nice message from you as well as admire the alluring canvas art.

But, for example if some landscapes or seascapes are on the canvases then the gallery type is the ideal method for canvas wrapping. As the sides are the continuation of the image and it will have a great effect as the logical extension. It provides a successful and aesthetically enjoyable feeling as well as great impression when you see the sky goes unlimited space up, green grass or blue sea have a deep prolongation...
And the last thing is that you can add not only a beautiful but a useful feature to your canvas. If you place a lamp or a small light inside your canvas, then you can have fun and enjoy your reading before going to sleep. So, all is in your hands. Think where you can place your canvas and we assure that it will be a superb addition to the interior of your flat or house.

--
The Original Canvas Company is the UK based company that provides you with the alluring canvas prints. The quality and the cheapest prices are guaranteed. You will be satisfied with the result. Any size, form and colour style are at your disposal. Turn your photograph into a beautiful piece of art work!

Source: http://www.articletrader.com
