With every game console that you want to connect, you're either going to have to by an Ethernet cable or a crossing cable to plug into the internet modem or computer. Every gaming console has a slot that you can plug in the cable, and it's usually in the back with the other plug slots. Hook up one end to the gaming console and then hook the other end up to the modem or computer.

With the Xbox 360, one of the most popular gaming systems to play online games with, the plug for the internet cable is right next to the power cord. If you have a wireless internet, you can plug it in to the cable slot that a wired internet would normally be plugged into. With the Playstation 3, you can use a wireless modem without even having to hook up any cables. Go under your connection and network settings and set it up so that the Playstation can be played through the internet on your computer. You're also going to have to use one of your network cards for it, or go buy an extra one. These are fairly cheap and could only cost you about ten dollars.

You can connect to the internet with these gaming consoles, but make sure that you have one of the updated gaming systems because a lot of the older ones will not be able to connect to the internet.

The excellent news is that there are not nearly as many option decisions that you must establish when you are shopping for a netbook computer system. The reason is that they are all almost the same, and with nearly identical limitations. Unlike a laptop or traditional notebook or desktop computer, you do not have 30 pages of potential options that you can add to it, which can sometimes almost double or more the basic cost of the system.

Most of them are limited to 1 GB of memory. With today's operating systems, that is not much, especially for Microsoft Windows. With most of them you can replace the memory modules and perhaps get as much as 2 GB of memory (which is still not a lot) but before you search out a screwdriver, be very sure that doing so does not void your warranty.

You will not have ability to add high-end graphic cards because the graphic processing power is just not there.

But looking at the positive aspects, what you DO get is an extremely effective computing platform in a very small form factor with astounding levels of battery life. While you are not going to want to open 15 browser windows at the same time like you would on your laptop, the aspect of portability and being able to keep in touch with such a small platform adds new meaning to the term "mobile", and netbook computers are much easier to browse on and send email from than smart phones.

Definitely make sure you do your shopping. The best deals out there can be obtained from many online locations and web sites. Make sure you realize the return options and the warranty options. But knowing what a netbook computer can do and was not designed to do, and accepting those limitations, you are in all likelihood going to be very pleased with your new netbook computer.

You need to purchase a wireless router and just make sure it is a wireless broadband router. Next plug the power supply of the router into a wall outlet. When the power indicator is on, search for the router using your wireless network list. You will see the brand name of the router listed here, for example "Linksys". Click on the router's name, because it is time to configure your router. Plug the Ethernet cable that came with the router into one of the four ports in the back and the other end of the cable into your laptop. This is not a way to save money. Computers from a discount store, with bundled software and operating systems, are far cheaper than custom-built machines. Most of those computers have compromises in performance and quality. Custom builders don't have to make compromises.

There are many sources for components. Although the local electronics store has some useful items, most of the parts for the project must come by mail order. Advertisements in magazines and online list numerous sources. The first component purchased is the case. There are several types of cases. From compact to tower, they offer features not found in factory-built computers. A case is usually purchased with a power supply. Buy a power supply that is bigger than needed. Extra power always comes in handy. The case should come with a fan, as well.

The next item is the motherboard. Modern motherboards have many components already installed on the board. Video cards and disk drive controllers included on the board may not be adequate. The threat of cyber attacks is not exclusively from terrorist organisations, as organised crime is making increasing use of the internet to blackmail and otherwise extract money from individuals and organisations.

Hostile nations also pose serious cyber threats. Both Russia and China have launched cyber offensives against the UK, though the government believes that these have not been successful in penetrating government computers or obtaining secret information. Knowing how careful the UK government have been with secret information of late what else can one do but believe them?
