There are many ways to save money on printer supplies. In today's day and age, millions of people are interested in doing so. This is true for individuals as well as companies of all sizes. Once you learn how to save money on printer supplies you will never go back to the old way of doing things.

Here are three ways to save:

1. Buy online. This is perhaps the best way to cut your costs when buying printer supplies. The internet gives you the chance to not only find printer supplies, but to also locate those that are the most affordable.

2. Don't be afraid to shop around. There is nothing wrong with looking at a few stores before you decide where to buy your printer supplies. After all, you never know what is out there until you open your eyes and take a closer look.

3. Ditch local stores. There are many stores in your area that probably sell printer supplies. The only problem with this is that they are usually over priced. Instead of dealing with this, shop online for a better idea of what you should actually be paying.

I don't care if I save because I don't buy a lot of printer supplies. This is not a good way of thinking. Remember this: a few dollars here and there adds up over the long haul. This is particularly true when it comes to printer supplies because this includes everything from paper to ink and toner cartridges.

Hopefully you now have a better idea of how to save on printer supplies.

--
Inkchief.com offers its customers great deals on ink and toner products. We also provide volume discounts to those that buy in bulk. Free shipping is available for all purchases.

Source: http://www.articletrader.com

If you have a high speed satellite internet connection, this is a great time to be a sports fan. No matter if they crave football, hockey, baseball, basketball or even soccer, sports fans are no longer limited to only watching what's on their local television stations, but instead they can choose from dozens of live games on their computer. Even more amazing, many websites offer multiple games for free. What fan wouldn't be happy with that?

One of the first website's to offer live streaming sporting events on their website was ESPN.com. Already the leader on live sports on cable television (they recently secured the rights to the college football BCS championship series, becoming the first cable network to broadcast a major championship game), ESPN recently introduced ESPN360.com, a website which broadcast's full, live sporting events over the internet. ESPN utilizes this technology mostly for college football and basketball games which allows viewers to choose from multiple games to watch throughout the day. Depending on your internet speed the streaming is somewhere between average and good, but you can't beat the access to multiple football games that the website gives you.

A couple of years ago, CBS made waves in the sports world by offering every single game of the NCAA Basketball playoffs for free live streaming on their CBS Sports website. This service was offered for two reasons: 1) because the opening rounds featured multiple games being played at the same times, people were only able to watch regional games and thus missed around 75% of the other action; and 2) because many games started during work hours, the average fan could now have a way to watch the games from their office computer. The website even offered an emergency "boss" button which brought up a spread sheet if someone were to wander into a workspace during a game.

NFL Sunday Ticket has been a popular television package for Direct TV which offers customers the chance to watch every football game, in or out of market, from their home. Last year, Sunday Ticket branched out into cyber space and now offers subscribers the opportunity to watch live games on their computer or cell phone. This type of mobile technology has also been embraced by other satellite companies which offer soccer, hockey and other live sporting events.

Not to be outdone, Major League Baseball and the National Hockey League both recently launched a service which allows subscribers the opportunity to watch games from their computer. While both leagues charge for this service, with the way trends have been going look for both of these leagues to begin to offer live games for free in the coming seasons.

--
Author Kim Green works long hours in front of a compue but with a high speed satellite internet connection, she doesn't have o miss any of her favorite shows!

Source: http://www.articletrader.com

How to connect Gaming Consoles to Internet

One of the biggest features in gaming consoles now a days, is that you get the opportunity to connect the console to the internet. By connecting to the internet, you can have more features and bonus maps by downloading them to your game. You can also connect with hundreds also online and play the game with them. You can battle with each other, or even team up and chat by using the headset that comes with the game. Hooking up to the internet, however, may be a bit challenging to some, but it's rather fairly simple.

With every game console that you want to connect, you're either going to have to by an Ethernet cable or a crossing cable to plug into the internet modem or computer. Every gaming console has a slot that you can plug in the cable, and it's usually in the back with the other plug slots. Hook up one end to the gaming console and then hook the other end up to the modem or computer.

With the Xbox 360, one of the most popular gaming systems to play online games with, the plug for the internet cable is right next to the power cord. You plug the Ethernet cable into it, and then plug it in the internet modem. If you have a wireless internet, you can plug it in to the cable slot that a wired internet would normally be plugged into. You have to set your internet so that it's able to read the connection and unlock it, otherwise it will be blocked and you won't be able to play.

With the Playstation 3, you can use a wireless modem without even having to hook up any cables. Go under your connection and network settings and set it up so that the Playstation can be played through the internet on your computer. You're also going to have to use one of your network cards for it, or go buy an extra one. These are fairly cheap and could only cost you about ten dollars.

You can connect to the internet with these gaming consoles, but make sure that you have one of the updated gaming systems because a lot of the older ones will not be able to connect to the internet.

--
George Pettit is a journalist and president of Computer Repairs Brisbane Group (CRBG).
Top Reasons To Buy A Netbook Computer

You have undoubtedly read about the newest netbook computers. When they originally became available, many consumers thought these netbooks were a solution seeking a problem, but as they have evolved, these little notebook computers are increasing rapidly in popularity and as their price continues to decline.

The excellent news is that there are not nearly as many option decisions that you must establish when you are shopping for a netbook computer system. The reason is that they are all almost the same, and with nearly identical limitations. Unlike a laptop or traditional notebook or desktop computer, you do not have 30 pages of potential options that you can add to it, which can sometimes almost double or more the basic cost of the system.

But recall I cited limitations? You must realize and accept the fact that these netbooks from any manufacturer are virtually the same. Nearly all of them have about the same size screen, which works out to be about 9 to 10 inches. Be sure you can accept that, since it may not sound like a large difference compared to a average laptop with a 14 or 15 inch screen, but you actually do not have as much screen area as the laptop counterpart.

Most of them are limited to 1 GB of memory. With today's operating systems, that is not much, especially for Microsoft Windows. With most of them you can replace the memory modules and perhaps get as much as 2 GB of memory (which is still not a lot) but before you search out a screwdriver, be very sure that doing so does not void your warranty.

You will not have ability to add high-end graphic cards because the graphic processing power is just not there.

But looking at the positive aspects, what you DO get is an extremely effective computing platform in a very small form factor with astounding levels of battery life. While you are not going to want to open 15 browser windows at the same time like you would on your laptop, the aspect of portability and being able to keep in touch with such a small platform adds new meaning to the term "mobile", and netbook computers are much easier to browse on and send email from than smart phones.

Definitely make sure you do your shopping. The best deals out there can be obtained from many online locations and web sites. Make sure you realize the return options and the warranty options. But knowing what a netbook computer can do and was not designed to do, and accepting those limitations, you are in all likelihood going to be very pleased with your new netbook computer.

--
The battery life is the biggest asset of netbooks, which is usually about twice that or even more than a traditional laptop computer. Most also have built-in wifi and you can also get cellular "air cards" for them for even more mobility.
Surf Without Wires

In order to get to wire-less you need to be wired first; meaning that you need an internet provider and a modem installed and always on broadband service. Most laptops are wireless ready and have wireless capability built in.

You need to purchase a wireless router and just make sure it is a wireless broadband router. Next plug the power supply of the router into a wall outlet. When the power indicator is on, search for the router using your wireless network list. You will see the brand name of the router listed here, for example "Linksys". Click on the router's name, because it is time to configure your router. Plug the Ethernet cable that came with the router into one of the four ports in the back and the other end of the cable into your laptop. Open a browser window and type in the router web address, your instruction manual for your router will give you their specific address if different. Click on Basic Wireless Settings.

If you are unsure if you are using "B" or "G" mode, leave that setting as mixed. There is also a field for you to name your network. If you are choosing to not enable security, you do not need to complete any other fields. Next, click on the link for ‘Wireless Security'. Choose WEP and type in a pass phrase, or a password that you and other computer users on your network will use to log on. There will also be a button to generate "keys" or additional encryption, click that and 4 codes will generate randomly. It is a good idea to copy these and paste them into a word document if you are going to set up additional users or if you need to reset your own computer on this network again. When this is completed, Click on "save settings", close your browser window and unplug the Ethernet cable from your computer. At this time you can click on your wireless icon in your system tray and locate the new network you just renamed and setup. You will be prompted for a pass phrase.

You are now connected with your router but there are a few additional steps to get us surfing "wireless" on the internet. Plug the internet cable from the modem into the back of the router port labeled, ‘Internet' or ‘WAN' and unplug the power source for the modem. and leave unplugged for about two minutes to fully reset. Plug it back in, open a browser window, type in the address of the router used before to configure, find the status field and there should be an IP address other than 000.000.000.000, which means- you are now set up and ready to surf- WIRELESSLY!

--
George Pettit is a journalist and president of Computer Repairs Brisbane Group (CRBG).
Computer industry development has brought to the appearance of a great number of various file formats. Every now and then there are situations when we have to change a file to another format. That is where converting software is applied. One of the most popular conversions is HTML to PDF. HTML is a special computer language used by programmers to create Internet pages. Html files support such elements as motion images, flash, background music and others. Note that these dynamic elements are not transformed to pdf document.

To choose an appropriate converter you should weigh several issues before starting with the search.
1)What are you going to use the file converting program for? Do you have to transform just a single web document or do you want to use it permanently for converting numerous documents?
2)Would you like the file converting program to be installed on your fixed disk or is it convenient for you to use online service?
3)How much are you prepared to pay for the HTML-to-PDF converting software?

You should also investigate the properties of the site as HTML files designed to be transformed to pdf are as a rule easily used in pdf files, with clickable links and such option as text search. At the same time in several HTML files text is represented by images and there are navigation links and menus that are based on Java script. That signifies that the text won't be searchable and links will not be clickable in pdf file.

After you weighed thoroughly all the above-mentioned questions it is high time to select an appropriate converter. For most users the best selection will be the converting software named PDFonFly. This file converter represents a free on-line service that use uniform resource locator to create a PDF file that you may download. Prior to beginning the process of converting you will need to pass the so-called CAPTCHA test, but you will be rewarded with effective and convenient html-to-pdf service. This program provides high quality of conversion, colors and fonts are practically the same as in the HTML document. For those who have to use the converter constantly the best choice will be to get acquainted with html2pdf or XHTML2PDF converting programs.

--
You have to convert html files to pdf? Use a special program that is destined to convert html to pdf. You'll certainly find the most efficient html to pdf converter at our site.

Source: http://www.articletrader.com

How to Build Custom Computers

Building a computer may seem like a project for a PhD candidate. The fact is that anyone can build a custom computer at home, and it will be tailor-made to the user's needs.

This is not a way to save money. Computers from a discount store, with bundled software and operating systems, are far cheaper than custom-built machines. Most of those computers have compromises in performance and quality. Custom builders don't have to make compromises.

There are many sources for components. Although the local electronics store has some useful items, most of the parts for the project must come by mail order. Advertisements in magazines and online list numerous sources. The first component purchased is the case. There are several types of cases. From compact to tower, they offer features not found in factory-built computers. A case is usually purchased with a power supply. Buy a power supply that is bigger than needed. Extra power always comes in handy. The case should come with a fan, as well.

The next item is the motherboard. Modern motherboards have many components already installed on the board. Video cards and disk drive controllers included on the board may not be adequate. Be sure that there are plenty of expansion slots on the board to accommodate upgrades in these areas. The processor on the motherboard should be the fastest and newest one available. Processors are improved every year, and they should not be obsolete before being plugged in.

Disk drives and optical drives are cheap. Factory computers come with an optical drive and a hard drive. It is a good idea to include other drives, even if they seem unnecessary. If the goal is gaming, then the biggest and fastest video card goes into one of the slots. Purchase the maximum amount of memory that will fit on the motherboard. This speeds up the machine considerably.

Choose the operating system that is best for the applications being used. Consulting others will help with this choice. Buying an operating system is a new experience for many users, but it is nothing to worry about. When everything is connected, boot the system and input the settings. It wouldn't hurt to find a book on the subject, but it is easier to do than anyone lets on.

--
George Pettit is a journalist and president of Computer Repair Brisbane Group (CRBG).
So you want your own website? Go on, give it a shot, you can do it.

First you need a website domain name, a website host and a website tool to build your site. A domain name is the address, similar to your home address, where visitors will go to find your site. For example, www.myownwebsite.com is a website address or domain name.

A website host is a company who will provide the infrastructure for your website on the Internet. The host will also assist you should you have any technical issues when visiting your site.

Website building tools are a new website owner's best friend. These tools are user friendly and allow you to quickly and quite nicely build your own website.

Where to begin? A quick search on the Internet will introduce you to numerous companies who offer one-stop shopping. Various businesses existing today, offer customers a start to finish guide to website owning, building and maintaining. Doing business with one of these reputable companies can be a great benefit to you in building and owning your website.

After researching and selecting such a company, you will be asked to pick a domain name. Your domain name should be specific yet easy for visitors to remember. A shorter address is more likely to generate more traffic to your site than a longer name.

You will then be asked to select a web hosting account. These accounts range from a very basic and limited amount of disk space to an elaborate and unlimited amount of disk space. To begin, select a basic account because you can always upgrade should you decide to in the future.

What is most important when selecting a web hosting provider are the tools offered to you to build your site. These tools eliminate the need to understand complex programming language in order to construct your site. You will be surprised at how easy it is to build your website and how professional it will look with some patience and thought.

So, don't let inexperience discourage you. Every one starts at the beginning some time. In less time than you think, and at a low cost, you will be giving your family, friends, business partners and customers your new website address which you constructed all by yourself!

--
George Pettit is a journalist and president of Computer Repair Brisbane Group (CRBG).
What is spyware?

As the years have gone by, more and more people are aware of what spyware is. While the number of people out there that are aware of spyware probably isn't as high as people that are aware of anti-virus software, the gap is certainly closing. Spyware is a growing problem that has been a major issue for the past several years. How does one get this stuff on their computer? What are some of its characteristics, and what are some of the things that people don't understand very well about spyware?

According to most people, spyware means the following. It is generally considered a form of malware that is put into someone's personal computer without their permission or approval. Once the software has been put on someone's computer, then the person that put it on their computer can do a number of things. One of the things that can be done is to check out and monitor the user's computer habits and behaviour. What is the benefit to the person that puts the software of the computer of the user? There are a couple of main benefits. One of those things is that the people that installed the spy ware use it for is to steal peoples personal information such as credit card and bank information. Why would people want to do that? It is due to the fact that they want the information in order to steal people's money. Also, some people will take the information and sell to third parties that want to have access to that kind of secret information.

Another reason why people apply spyware to a person's computer is to track where they visit on the internet. Having that information can be valuable to the spy and damaging to the person that has had their information compromised. It is critically important that people always update and use their anti spyware software in order to protect themselves. Not using that software can put a computer in a compromised state. Spyware can be so sneaky and all that a user is most likely not even aware that it is on their computer, which makes it even more important to use the appropriate tools in order to keep one protected.

--
Spyware and adware are big threats, so invest in some antivirus software from k7 computing

Source: http://www.articletrader.com

Today, 25th April 2009, the UK government announced the deployment of a new computer security defence organisation with a mission to protect these islands from cyber attack by foreign countries and terrorist groups. This organisation will deploy all the latest advances in antivirus software and other resources in order to detect and defeat and pre-emptive attack.

This new group will be based at Government Communications Head Quarters (GCHQ) at Cheltenham in Gloucestershire. The new centre is to be called the Cyber Security Operations Centre. The team, who are referred to as the cyber forensics team, will monitor the internet in real time and will analyse all potential attacks and develop appropriate defences. Their role is not exclusively defensive, for they are also developing new ways to counterattack cyber terrorists. These will add to an already extensive arsenal of weapons that are available to the team for deployment against terrorist groups such as Al Qaeda.

The government minister in charge of this operation is Lord West and in a recent speech he reiterated the government views that certain terrorist groups are already making full use of the web for recruiting new members and that they use advanced encryption methods for internet communications. These groups are now going one step further, and are beginning to use virus and denial of service attacks on government organisations, businesses and banks.

The threat of cyber attacks is not exclusively from terrorist organisations, as organised crime is making increasing use of the internet to blackmail and otherwise extract money from individuals and organisations.

Hostile nations also pose serious cyber threats. Both Russia and China have launched cyber offensives against the UK, though the government believes that these have not been successful in penetrating government computers or obtaining secret information. Knowing how careful the UK government have been with secret information of late what else can one do but believe them?

If you are not one hundred percent secure in your belief that our government will successfully protect you from cybercrime, then you are advised to ensure that your antivirus software is up to date.

--
If you want to invest in your own antivirus or adware software, the experts at k7 will help you out!

Source: http://www.articletrader.com
