Who needs T.V. News, Newspapers and Radio News? “Not I!” says the happy human living in the New World.

T.V. and radio News got you down? On-line current events and News blogs make being informed a much more enjoyable experience. For many the News on television has become a trying time of the day. Focused mainly on negative events, you may have to wait through the whole program just to hear the one story you were waiting for. If you miss the 6:00 p.m. show, waiting until the late night segment can be a real drag, especially if you’ve got a lot to do, or have to wake up early the next morning.

My friends, there is an answer to this problem: News blogs or on-line current events. You can find all of your favorite broadcasters (E.g.: CNN, BBC) on the Internet, getting up-to-date information at any time of the day or night. You can even read personal journal entries written by multiple correspondents out in the field reporting on several different stories down to the current minute. Instead of hearing all News from one voice (often an irritating one), now you can read different human opinions straight from the scene of interest.

Often News on-line has a section called “themes” which allows the reader to only hear about the specific areas that interest them. No more waiting through several wars to get to the positive story about the current medical breakthrough that could mean a cure for disease, or the technological idea that might mean the end to extreme pollution levels. Like a newspaper, you can go straight to the “jobs” theme and search through all the current employment vacancies available. If you are obsessed with the negative, themes such as “Disaster and Tragedy” and “Crime and Punishment are still readily accessible.

As the News is now on the Internet it has also become an interactive experience in numerous ways. First of all now you can send News stories straight to the News companies yourself! If the story is deemed worthwhile and verifiable, you may even be published. This is also the case with photographers who have pictures of important events. It really means anyone can become a part of the action as a freelance consultant. Some News on-line have “witness” sections where you can tell your story if you happen to have been in the right place at the right time. This option means that we can hear many different views on contentious issues giving a wider perspective to the ‘big picture’.

Some News sites also have interactive sites within. For example, on the BBC News Blog there is a learning site (BBCi Learning) that involves interactive activities and over half a million pages of factual information and resources available for children, adolescents, and adults. There are competitions and all sorts of games to help educate people in any and every area of interest imaginable.

Another great aspect of these on-line News sites is the ability to access archival information. You can watch video and listen to audio recordings of famous historical stories right on the computer. If the day is Feb.3, you can read articles from Feb.3’s from fifty years ago. Looking up any date and year recorded is as easy as pushing a few buttons.

Some services have subscriptions where instead of looking up the website, the News you want is sent straight to your email. Being in the know, and being in the now, has never been such an objective, enjoyable, and simplistic experience as in the 21st century. Partaking in a new perspective on life is what on-line current events and News Blogs are all about.

--

It's a fact. Notebook computers have leapt into the global sales arena with the force and flexibility of Bruce Lee, effortlessly dispatching their desktop competitors with nothing more than a dynamic one-inch sonoma punch.

With wi-fi technology blossoming around us, the demand for laptops is only set to increase. The ability to play games, or casually surf the internet in wireless coffee shops and airports, will ensure that notebook computers remain incredibly popular.

Laptops, though, aren't just utilized for leisure. Mobile technology is also beginning to dictate what happens in the classroom. This is especially true as notebooks are entering the educational arena in ever-increasing numbers. Indeed, schools such as Framingham State College, and the Myron B. Thompson Academy have both decided to use laptops as teaching tools in class.

Thanks to the adaptability and portability of laptop computers, retailers enjoyed a bountiful sales year in 2004. Consequently, everyone's using notebooks these days, from sprightly seventh graders to zimmer-wielding septegenarians.

But can this popularity and the incredible global sales figures be sustained?

Yes they can. Once you couldn't find a notebook for under a thousand dollars, but now there are entry level selling for seven hundred dollars, and even lower with coupons and rebates. Recently, Wal-Mart began to offer laptops with a linux operating systems, and 30GB hard drives for under 500 dollars.

So just how low can laptop prices go?

Can you say a hundred dollars?

If Nicholas Negroponte, founder of MIT's Media Lab gets his wish, wireless laptops for third world countries will soon be available for around 100 dollars.

2005 - The Year of the Rooster?

Think again. This is most definitely the Year of the Laptop.

--

Copying XBOX Games

There really is no shortcut to copying XBOX games. In fact, this is a mightily complicated process and has stumped some really techie people. This is evident with the prevalence of the question on copying XBOX games in Internet message boards and tech chat rooms. But why does one need to be going about there and copying XBOX games? Is this not legal?

If you have an XBOX and you have purchased original games to play on it, chances are you must have ran through a huge chunk of your savings. Original games are very expensive and because CDs are not exactly immortal, you can eventually wear out a game especially if you use it every minute of the day.

To give value to consumers, most countries allow original CD buyers to make back-up copies of their XBOX games in case their original got damaged or got lost provided that they are aware of the law against pirated software and that they actually own an original cd and are only copying XBOX games for their personal use only.

While it is relatively easy to do the copying of XBOX games, the same cannot be said in actually using the XBOX games that you have copied. Most software contain an encryption that must be met when inserted in an XBOX. Copying an XBOX game, however, does not copy this encryption. This is a protection system that most XBOX consoles have as protection against flagrant copying of XBOX games.

To be able to run XBOX games that you have copied, you need to modify your XBOX. This can be a daunting task especially to beginners who are afraid of destroying their XBOXes with their tinkering.

According to most tech experts, there are a lot of ways to modifying your XBOX in order to accommodate the practice of copying of XBOX games. Some are quite complicated and only a tech expert could do while other ways can be expensive but easy.

One is to buy and install a MOD-chip. This will allow your console to play XBOX games that you have copied as well as play imported games from other countries with perfect sound and video with no problem at all. While it may seem that all you have to do is purchase a MOD-Chip and then voila, you have another think coming. There are actually a lot of things that you should consider when buying a MOD-Chip. Most recommend the Divineo Modchips, which are purported to be really reliable. Some of the popular brands are the Xecuter 2 and 3, Xenium, SmartXX, X-bit, Alladin, Chameleon and Xchip.

Another way in copying and using XBOX games is to change the BIOS of the XBOX so that it will no longer read the requirements of the digitally-signed software. This is basically reprogramming the whole BIOS.

You might also consider purchasing a bigger hard drive and just save all your games inside the XBOX. This way, you already have copy of your favorite games inside and would no longer need to swap CDs.

The third way is to do the game swapping technique, wherein you will first boot the original CD and then swap the copy once it has already booted up. This might be very complicated and will not actually serve your purpose in copying your XBOX games… that is to preserve your original CDs.

--

Interested in gaming, there are sites that let you play for no cost. All you need to have is Macromedia’s Free Flash Player. Whew! According to Computer Gaming World, there are 80 gazillion free Flash games sites in the cyber world.

Popular sites are:

www.games.yahoo.com -- this has card games, word games, arcade games, as well as puzzles. The number of violent games is limited so the site appeals to the “old-young” –those who are young at heart.

www.shockwave.com -- a popular site with original games as well as PopCap ones. One can do a jigsaw here everyday.

www.addictinggames.com – has free games that are updated every week—Friday. The site has action, arcade, puzzle, as well as sports games.

www.arcadetown.com -- has Flash games, java games, downloads and more.

Since Flash offers many advantages to developers as well as players, many games are designed using Macromedia Flash. It is by far the best game platform and has incredible features.

In an industry that’s evincing exponential growth, Flash has become the universal and popular choice for multimedia intensive web sites. Flash, singly crosses most barriers—

It supports complicated and wonderful graphics.

Allows download of files via the Internet.

And is compatible with playback devices.

In the world of Flash enabled games the hosting system is the web server itself. Flash enables web sites to host animated as well as interactive movies and games. There is no paraphernalia required. All that is needed is to download the game itself. The costs are minimal and not recurring.

To play on the web all that is required is: a web browser, a Flash player, and the Internet. Flash is the universal plug in needed to play games. It is installed on every PC with Windows XP and Mac.

Playing online can be fun and most games can now be played by many players from all round the world. Just keep in mind:

That there are players who cheat at games. Look for PunkBuster software on the server, this detects cheats who try and gain unfair advantages.

Play with others who have credibility and are accountable for their actions. Many online sites need verified log ins, they are actively managed gaming environments. This is a better choice for safe gaming.

Create a select group of friends and use the broadband server to host a private gaming server.

Do your research thoroughly. Seek safe and high quality gaming sites.

Gaming is in its golden phase and is set to reach new heights. Innovation, new business models, and unprecedented growth is expected to open new avenues in gaming.

--

There are a wide variety of playing cards. Some card decks are game specific particularly Pinochle cards, Bridge Decks, and Poker decks. Other card games are King’s Corner, Solitaire, Gin Rummy, War, Old Maid and Slap Jack.

There are various categories of games that can be played using playing cards. There are fortune telling cards such as Tarot cards, Author cards, and book cards. There are historical fact games, special interest games and a wizard card game.

There are educational card decks such as Arithmetic flash cards, Trivia fact cards, and many more. There are self help card decks such as blessing cards, affirmation cards, conversation cards, and corporate training card decks.

While it is not a game strictly speaking, building a house of cards is fun. The foundation is two card placed facing each other on the short end of the card and a card is place on either side of the two cards. As you move out you can also move up in height. Sounds easy right...NOT!!!! The slightest breath of air can tumble your card castle in seconds. The secret is to not breathe, have a window open, or anyone in the room with you. Since that isn’t possible, you need to be extremely light handed while building your card house.

Card decks have the number and the suit imprinted on the front with some kind of a design on the back. They are printed with a plain matte finish, a glossy finish or no real finishing at all. Laminated card decks are best because they will last much longer than other types of decks.

--

RuneScape Hacks - Backdoors and Beating The System

If you want to gain a mortal edge over other RuneScape players, RuneScape Hacks are the order of the day. RuneScape is a massive multiplayer online role playing game that consists of an ample battle field where thousands of players fight it of for victory. Since there are more than 5 thousand users per server, it is no surprise that many of these use RuneScape Hacks to facilitate their playing experience.

There are plenty of RuneScape hacking tools in the market such as Autoer. Such programs allow you to directly edit your stats and pump them up to any level you want. Even if you feel like changing your mode to God mode, you can accomplish this with a good enough RuneScape hack. An armor upgrader works by upgrading your armor to the highest levels without forking out one cent.

Other auto pickers enable you to pick up dropped items. Maybe the most famous one, the autominer can help you get unlimited quantities of gold. The basic philosophy behind such auto programs is that you can leave them on while you go to school, work or even go asleep all night long to find a pleasant surprise next morning.

A recently offered RuneScape hack, the R2JK is so powerful you cannot even find it on Google. This hack is not meant for anyone, especially children trying to beat the system blindly. With this super hack you can convert any player or item into anything else, including moderator status.

You can see how such a tool can be a menacing danger, hence the very low profile it presents. Do not expect to find this tool easily since so many little players actually get to have the chance of having it in their hands.

--

Browser Games also known as web based, or online flash, java, or shockwave games. Browser based games have evolved from simple reincarnations of collapse, or breakout, to much more interesting games. Some browser based games are using Open GL to create rich 3d environments. One of the earliest examples of this was Alien X ( http://www.gamertech.com/node/150 ) Presented by shockwave.com this was a big leap and a treat to browser based game fans. Since Alien X there have been many equally impressive 3d games. For racing game fans there was Lego supersonic RC ( http://www.gamertech.com/node/70 ) or Rich Racer ( http://www.gamertech.com/node/148 ). And for Real Time Strategy fans came a great multiplayer game called Quantum Legacy ( http://www.gamertech.com/node/141 ). For fans of first person shooters there are newer games that take big steps beyond what Alien X was capable of. Phosphor for example, while still in its beta stages, has much more clean looking graphics and also has the capability of multiplayer online play. While all the games in this list are quite impressive the most successful game would have to be Runescape ( http://www.gamertech.com/node/18 ). Runescape is a massively multiplayer online RPG game where users try to earn money and complete quests in an online world. The game has become incredibly popular there are many sites devoted to the buying selling and trading of items within the game world.

Great graphics aren’t the only direction taken by the creators of these web based games. Atari has created a series of games based on classic board games:
Monopoly ( http://www.gamertech.com/node/10 )
Boggle ( http://www.gamertech.com/node/16 )
Battleship ( http://www.gamertech.com/node/12 )
Scrabble ( http://www.gamertech.com/node/24 )
Sorry ( http://www.gamertech.com/node/13 )
Yahtzee ( http://www.gamertech.com/node/26 )
Users are allowed to login to lobbies where they can find other players interested in playing a game. The game play online is almost identical to the board game counter-parts with the exception that online games tend to go faster due to the fact that the non player-controlled parts of the game are automated very quickly.

If you like the idea of playing the games you know so well and you were a fan of the old Nintendo Entertainment System, or NES as it is well known, then you’re in luck. NESCafe has created a java based emulator for the NES, as well as many other console systems. What this means is that many of your favorite NES games like Tecmo Super Bowl, Contra, or RBI Baseball, are all available for you to play online within your browser! Find out more info here: http://www.gamertech.com/node/37

Browser based games have indeed come a long way, and there’s something for everyone. Whether you want to find a classic arcade game, a brand new FPS or RTS game, or an online version of your favorite card or board game, you will find what you are looking for online. You can find a great directory of only the very best online games here: http://www.gamertech.com

--
Chris Rogoza is the owner and operator of Gamertech - Free Java flash shockwave Games a browser based game site.

Source: http://www.articletrader.com

Sports games involve high quality 3D graphics and high-speed animation and special effects that allow users to play such games as soccer, baseball, snooker, and other games on computers and on the internet. The advances in software and graphics technology have made software renditions of such games next to real and fun.

Before the rise of software and computer technology, few would have imagined playing baseball in virtual reality or on computers. These were games to be played outdoors, in lush green parks, or on the street. Now we can play them on monitor screens in one’s bedroom, or online with other players.

Some of the games that are popular today include the following:
Billiards – A combination of letter keys and the mouse allow the player to aim and shoot with high precision. The rules remain the same, and the visual effects are 3-dimensional.
Bowling – A number of customizable ball, 3 alleys, and near-realistic ball and pin movements make this club game come alive in your drawing room.
Tennis – A 3 set tennis match against the computer allows amateurs to try their hands with this game. The players and the strength of the hits are controlled by combining mouse dragging and a few keys.
Snow Boarding – An obstacle filled race that gives more points the earlier you finish. The controls as usual are with the mouse and keyboard. You get the choice of listening to background music as well.

Most of the virtual games are a test of one’s hand-to-eye coordination. It is a skill that comes with practice. The levels of the games differ and the usual options available are beginners, intermediate and advanced. Since the games are played against a computer software, the level of difficulty in limited by the quality of programming.

To learn more about playing online sports games, visit online sports games

--
The author is a freelance writer associated with http://freehentaigame.info

Source: http://www.articletrader.com

Renai which means ‘romantic game’ is an interactive computer game based on themes of love and sex. The protagonist could be a male or female, and various controls allow manipulation of the 3D environment and the characters. These are popularly called dating sims or visual novels.

A visual novel presents pictures with text at the bottom and deals with romantic themes. Dating sim games allow more interaction with event planning.

Artificial Girl 2, or Jinkou Shojo 2, is a three dimensional interactive game featuring a single girl and a boy. The object of the game would be revealed later, but the graphics are said to be a bit poor. The virtual environment consists of natural surroundings with woods and hills as the backdrop. There is an option to keep the background blank, the reason for which is explained below.

The controls allow the user to manipulate various aspects of the game. These include the physical features of the girl, walking movements, locations, etc.

At first it may seem like a silly, romantic game where you take the girl for a walk through the woods, or kiss her on top of a hill.

The ‘advanced’ features of the game would however reveal the real objective of the game – to have 3D sex with the animated girl, and watch it from various angles.

That is why the background can be blanked if required!

There are other features of the game that could be pleasing to the user – the ability to choose the surroundings and see the characters take a walk, sit together, hold hands, and kiss.

What can we make of Renai games? The fantasy aspect of the game is quite prominent. The themes are libidinous. The content is more of a play with imagination.

For more information on Renai games visit - Hentai games

--
The author is a freelance writer and associated with http://www.freehentaigame.info

Source: http://www.articletrader.com

The game of chess has come a long way with computers and software programs getting an upper hand over amateur players and even experienced grandmasters. It was a dream of some chess enthusiasts to have a machine play this game which represented pure thinking in action. It seemed like only a human could play meaningful chess and win.

The advances in software and computer hardware have made chess playing machines commonplace, so much so that now one can play the game on small handheld devices as well.

Another aspect of chess playing software is the use of Internet for playing the game. The Internet has made the world a close-knit community, with real time chatting and emails widely used everyday by millions of people around the world.

It is now possible to play the game of chess sitting at home or your office with people located anywhere in the world with an internet connection. This is a marvelous thing that has happened to the game of chess, and gaming in general. For before the internet, one could hardly imagine anything like this happening in the future.

What is it like to play chess online? Simply find out the website that allows you to play the game, and register with a username. Download some files and log in. Locate a player and start the game. Invite the player with some introduction.

The game software allows choosing time and colors, and takes care of most of the rules of the game. You may offer draws or resign at any point.
