It seems that Samsung have their hearts set on beating everyone not just on their phone interfaces, but on cool features, too. Let's check out two phones that exemplify that more than any others.

Samsung Tocco Ultra - trading on its looks?

Touch interfaces are all the rage this year, and the Samsung Tocco Ultra has one of the nicest. Based on their TouchWiz UI (which has previously seen the light of day in phones like the original Tocco), the Tocco Ultra puts that interface into a body that's clearly been inspired by their Ultra Edition series of slim, sexy phones. Even the name Tocco Ultra hints at that dual heritage, with the phone being designed to look good both inside and out.

However, good looks aren't the only thing the Tocco Ultra is trading on some cool features, too. Quite apart form the sleek, finger-friendly interface, it's also equipped with a beautiful 8 megapixel camera (much like the Samsung Pixon that it will be sold alongside), and HSDPA internet access. As well as that, though, the Tocco Ultra adds a whole level of usability, but having a proper, slide-out keyboard.

In other words, anyone who wants a touch interface, but prefers texting, or dialling numbers, on an old school keypad, is going to right at home with the Tocco Ultra.

Samsung Omnia HD - the ultimate video phone?

As nice as the Tocco-Ultra is, however, it's overshadowed by its 'big brother', the Samsung Omnia HD. There's a very good reason for that. Whilst it, like the Tocco Ultra and Samsung Pixon, has an 8-megapixel camera, the Samsung Omnia HD is also the first phone to record true 720p HD video. Never before has a phone been able to capture video at that massive high resolution, and coincidentally (or is it coincidence? Maybe not...), the Samsung Omnia HD captures high-def video at the exact quality that Youtube display high-def videos at. It's very possible that the Samsung Omnia HD was designed with its main feature being the ability to get yourself on Youtube, in high-definition. Combine that with the sumptuous 3.7 inch screen, and a huge 8Gb of internal memory, and it's very clear that the Samsung Omnia HD deserves to be one of the phones of the year!

--
The evolution of the Tocco Ultra, Samsung Omnia HD, Samsung Pixon

Laura Brown is classifiable as an expert on mobile phones, having worked in the industry for over 7 years, she has seen the rise and fall in the varieties of technological advances in mobile phones -- she urges you towards Mobileshop.com to keep up to date with the ever changing advancements!

Source: http://www.articletrader.com

Computer Running Slow?

It is a common experience among the user of personal computers, or PCs, to find that the performance of their computer deteriorate over a period of time. Laments such as computer running slow, my pc is slow etc., prop up in informal meetings of these PC users. The primary reason for this development is not due to any fault on the part of the PC, but only due to the fault of the person using the personal computer.

The inability of the person to maintain the performance of the PC at 100% performance level is the real culprit for the computer running slow and not any manufacturing defects on the part of the PC or any other thing is the reason.

PC is being used for doing a number of activities such as browsing the internet, downloading software, audio and video files, emails and chatting, to name a few. Every time a software is downloaded or a music file is played through the Internet, a whole lot of cookies and virus creep into the hard disk of the PC without any knowledge about the same to the user. A periodic maintenance of the system is of utmost importance for maintaining the performance at peak level.

The files deleted from the system using the Delete key, while disappearing from the directories, appear on the recycle bin and in turn occupy the space. This is a safety measure provided so that files are not deleted by mistake, and an option is given to retrieve such files, which were deleted wrongly. After confirming that the files are no longer required, the recycle bin should be cleared at least twice or thrice a week. Or else, using the Shift+Delete key to delete the files can be resorted to, by which the files get deleted once for all from the system without getting stored in the recycle bin.

The fastest way to speed up a PC is to simply download a registry cleaner and run a scan. It will clear up errors and instantly speed up application loading and PC boot up times.

--
Search For The Best Registry Cleaners free at http://www.fixbluescreen.com

Source: http://www.articletrader.com

A little help on cctv

In my opinion, what would be the best system for somebody who wants a decent system with a bit of time for setup, I would say it's at least a 4 camera wired with an independent DVR with a hard drive and a USB or video output, is a good all-rounder. Of course any system is probably better than none. I know a guy that just bought a 2 camera wireless system that could have been 4 camera (the receiver will take 4 cams). He found that the cameras overlapped his BT home hub channels and cam 1 booted all wireless PCs off his network.. So you better have in mind that if this is a wireless you want to buy, if it's in the 2.4 Giga herz range they may interfere with any wireless networks you may have running.

Buying CCTV and finding the best equipment for you generally depends on how much you want to spend. The basic rule for buying such things (and this applies to computers as well) is first, determine what would be best and second what would be cheap then find your affordable ground and try to spend toward the upper range of your budget. The risk is that if you go too cheaply you will not be happy with what you have bought. Then, Once you've decided what you really want within your range then find the best price by searching searching, and more searching.

The good thing about a separate DVR is that it can be placed somewhere like in a cupboard and hidden. Then I would use it's output to feed back to my PC. You only feed the info to your PC and if someone steals the PC then you've lost the images unless it has the ability to download to the internet. This should be on the higher range equipment. Be careful, thieves think about stealing cctv evidence, it’s on their minds. It even can be said of a VCR. What if the crime was breaking in and stealing the TV/VCR? With a separate DVR feeding to the PC it would give me the double protection. Your PC could send images to the internet and the secret hidden DVR would be available for backup.

Be warned with INFRA-RED cameras these days, the range for night viewing is not great, they’re just not that great to be honest. Most are just your typical Chinese rubbish. The technology is too cheap in the cameras you get on the home setup market so you may need a separate infra-red light source. Another downer, the infra-red cameras won't work through glass since it reflects back to the camera lens. Unfortunately they must be outside if you want surveillance upon out-door areas. A costly addition to a setup would be to have infra-red cameras that don't have their own light source, mount them inside and then mount a separate infra-red flood light system, this is a common application and very effective.

Back in the good ‘ole days CCTV Cameras were extortionate. But now as with all technology markets, their prices have come drastically down and they are well within the reach of the common householder. The modern CCTV Cameras are almost all digital available with wireless technology. So much for “closed circuit”. Another good feature is they can also be connected to the USB port of computers and can produce digital images and many other functions. Then your CCTV images can be uploaded to the net and made available over the oceans.

It’s up to you, strive for what you want to achieve, not what others want to sell you.

--

A man, a plan, a camera. Installing cctv cameras now for almost a decade I have become somewhat nostalgic on sharing the good news of the eyes part of the "eyes and ears" of our community.

Source: http://www.articletrader.com

Warning Spyware Detected – Have you Gotten the Error Message “Warning Spyware Detected”?

If you have you are not alone. The warning spyware detected message seems to be one of the most prevalent pop up ads internet users see these days. They usually come in two different forms:

1. Legitimate Windows warning that your computer has in fact been infected

2. A fake “false positive” warning generated by a rogue anti spyware program

If I were to take an estimate I would guess that about 95% of warning spyware detected messages are similar to option 2. They are fake messages intended to scare the user into buying a specific counterfeit spyware remover that will infect them further, steal private confidential information, and extort money out of the unsuspecting user.

A rogue antispyware program is a form of spyware that disguises itself as an anti spyware removal tool. The spyware gets on to your computer through security holes in your browser, P2P file sharing, or free programs that come with bundled spyware. Your desktop appears with a spyware warning or you may see the blue screen warning spyware message. If you fall for the trap then do not panic. While your computer is at serious risk all is not lost if you act smart. You must take steps to remove the infections BEFORE they corrupt your registry and steal your information.

Spyware removal is not as simple as deleting the infections and moving on. In the Web 2.0 world spyware, malware, and viruses have gotten very sneaky at how they infect computers. They typically attack multiple folders and disguise themselves in your Windows registry and system processes. Unless you are a computer expert, you will need help to completely eliminate spyware from your computer.

Fortunately there are a select few programs that can properly exterminate all the latest spyware while offering protection against future attacks. I have created a review website that performed comprehensive testing on some of the most popular spyware removal programs. Have a look and get rid of the pesky warning spyware detected message in just a few clicks of the mouse!

--
Want to squash those annoying pop up ads and get your PC running like new?
What Are The Best Thermal Night Vision Goggles?

There are various different kinds of night vision goggles a person can use which have been specifically designed for use on land. In fact a number of the more well known night vision goggle manufacturers have produced ones for thermal use. Below I will take a closer look at some of the thermal night vision goggles that are now available to purchase.

TAG-7

TAG-7 offer the wearer one of the best performing thermal systems available today and are not that expensive to purchase. All a person needs is 2 AA batteries and comes with a head strap so that the wearer can use their hands on other tasks whilst using them. Although they only use AA batteries, these thermal night vision goggles still provide the wearer with a good clear image of their surroundings which have not been exposed to either light or shade. The great thing about these goggles is that they are small and lightweight and this makes them very comfortable for the user to wear.

ATN Otis-G7

These are another version of thermal NVG’s. The great thing about this particular pair is that they can either be attached to a helmet or the person can carry them in their hand. With this particular version you are actually offered the chance to connect to a video.

Because of their design the image you see through the goggles will be clear or unaffected by anything else around it. These particular goggles work by constantly detecting changes in heat from a body as well as the temperatures around the wearer. The thermal imaging used within these goggles ensure that the images are of the highest quality possible. Today these particular thermal night vision goggles are being used by members of law enforcement units along with units that deal with public safety such as firefighters.

The technology that is used in thermal night vision goggles works by capturing the upper part of the infra red light spectrum. This light is emitted through the heat of an object and rather than relying on the reflected light as other kinds of night vision goggles do. The hotter the object then the more of this light the object will emit. So when you use these you will see that a human body will emit more infra red light than say a tree or a building will.

--
Ricky highly recommends Bushnell night vision googles. Visit his night vision goggles website for more information.

Source: http://www.articletrader.com

Panoramic Night Vision Goggles

Panoramic night vision goggles now offer all combat pilots with a 95 degree field of vision compared to the more traditional versions offering only a 40 degree field of vision. All of these goggles use 4 x 16mm image intensifier tubes whereas more traditional night vision googles only have 2 x 18mm tubes.

The great thing about these panoramic night vision goggles for combat pilots is that they are able to improve their overall awareness of the situation that they are in. Plus they are much safer as they actual double the amount of area in front of them that they are able to view so allowing them to be able perform almost the same kind of tactics that they would use in the daytime at night. This in turn results in much better tracking and targeting capabilities than they had previously.

Another feature that is particularly unique to panoramic night vision goggles is known sometimes as auto gating. What this means is that whilst been worn, the wearer is protected from any kind of temporary loss of vision or it becoming impaired because of sudden flashes of bright light occurring. Normally such bright flashes may have been caused by a flaring going off. Each of the 4 tubes in the panoramic night vision goggles contain the auto gating feature so each tube if it should become exposed to any bright light source will then automatically reduce how much the wearer is able to see (gain) by blocking it out.

But because this feature works independently in each tube then if one of the tubes is required to go into auto gating mode the other tubes will continue to operate in the normal way that is unless they are also exposed to the same bright light as well. By having this feature within the tubes this now means that the combat pilot is able to retain good visual of all around them at all times which makes them more aware of the situation in which they are in.

Although panoramic night vision goggles are extremely effective as they are at present, the manufacturers of these particular goggles are always looking for ways to upgrade and enhance them further. At some stage they hope to produce a pair which also includes sensor fusion technology. This kind of technology will use both night vision and image intensifying technology along with an infrared sensor technology as well. Such goggles will be commonly referred to as “Enhanced Night Vision Goggles” or ENVG’s and there are some that are already using such technology in theirs. In fact ITT Industries have partnered up with Raytheon in order to develop such goggles.

--
Ricky is a night vision goggles enthusiast. Visit his website today for more information on night vision goggles such as thermal night vision googles.

Source: http://www.articletrader.com

While a huge draw for Direct TV's fifteen and a half million subscribers is the massive amount of quality television programming provided by its hundreds of channels, the great television technology that's provided with every subscription goes a long way toward keeping those subscribers happy and satisfied.

All of Direct TV's programming starts out at transmission stations where if it isn't already in digital television format, it's converted into digital television format. Then all of the programming is encrypted to prevent people who don't subscribe to Direct TV's service from stealing it. Once the programming has been converted and encrypted, it's compressed using either MPEG-2 or MPEG-4 data compression technologies and transmitted up to a fleet of satellites in geosynchronous orbit above the Earth's equator. Those satellites then send all of the programming back down to the Earth's surface where satellite dishes all over North America can pick it up. Those satellite dishes then send the programming to Direct TV's satellite receivers which decompress it, decrypt it, cleanse it of interference, and make it available to display on television screens in a high quality picture that can't be matched by an old fashioned analog television signal that just travels across town.

Along with great programming and a great picture, Direct TV also provides interactive features with all subscriptions. These interactive features include things that will help make hundreds of channels manageable and enhance the enjoyment of the satellite TV experience. The central feature to all of this is the on screen program guide. The on screen program guide provides interactive listings of every program on every channel available from Direct TV. Each listing includes the year the program was made, who stars in it, what it's rated (if applicable), and often comes with a brief summary of the plot. Scrolling through the on screen program guide is a much more efficient way to decide what to watch than surfing through the channels would be, and can even tell you what's available to watch in the future.

Another valuable interactive feature that's included on all of its subscriptions is Parental Control capability. Parental Controls allow you to block inappropriate programming from being accessed by your children. You make the rules for what they can and can't watch based on MPAA ratings, channel, time of day, or even specific TV show. You can also set spending limits on Pay Per View programming. Best of all, you can still watch what you want with the use of your own personal identification number.

Direct TV subscribers can also enjoy access to optional technology. Digital Video Recording is a very popular example of what you can get through Direct TV. With a Digital Video Recorder you can record up to two hundred hours of the TV shows and movies that you want to watch again and again or the programming that you have to see, but can't be at home to watch when it first airs. A Digital Video Recorder is easy to program with the intuitive software supplied by Direct TV and because all of the video is stored on a built in hard disk, you won't have to worry about finding blank video tapes. Plus, because the video is recorded in all digital television format, you'll enjoy the same great high quality picture and sound that you would if you were watching the program directly off of the satellite signal.

With all of this great technology, you can't go wrong with Direct TV.

--
J.
