All About Calorx Foundation in India

The personality of a child develops with quality education, moral values, kind behavior, hard work and dedication. This is all the Calorx foundation aims to teach children. Founded in the year 1995, Calorx foundation is a non-profit organization in Education which has dedicated itself to improve the education system. Calorx foundation is registered under Indian Trust Act and its major focus is on K-12 education. Calorx foundation is supported by Calorx group of companies situated in New Delhi. The Calorx group of companies is into real estate, hospitality and finance.

Serving the education field for over fourteen years, Calorx foundation has established CBSE, ICSE, International schools in various cities. Delhi Public School at Bopal was the first school of the foundation launched in the year 1996. One of its notable contributions in the field of education is ‘Prerna', a special CBSE educational institute for children suffering from dyslexia. Prerna, situated in Ahmedabad, launched in the year 2001, has teachers well trained to guide dyslexic students. ‘Visamo kids' was another project of Calorx foundation which aims to fulfill the dreams of children coming from below poverty line. Visamo Kids Foundation provides shelter and food to the under-privileged children and helps them with their education. The children here are educated in good English medium and Convent schools. The Visamo Kids foundation aims in the development of society through educating the little children. The International Baccalaureate School, ‘The Calorx School' was founded in the year 2007. This is a residential school which aims to educate children at global standards. The other list of public schools under Calorx foundation includes Calorx Public School, BMK International School and Calorx Pre School.

The Calorx foundation has served the society in various ways. After the Gujarat earthquake in the year 2002, which made a number of people homeless, Calorx started Relief and Rehabilitation work to help the people in need. It set up a shelter called ‘Visamo' on the Gujarat University grounds, Ahmedabad to provide shelter to the affected people for two months. Later, after the Indian Ocean Tsunami in the year 2004, Calorx worked closely with the administration of Andaman and Nicobar Islands to reconstruct and rehabilitate it. It also helped constructing two schools in the Island.

The Calorx foundation is now set to establish Calorx Teachers University (CTU), which is located on the outskirts on Ahmedabad. CTU is likely to begin in a year. This is a graduation university which aims to train the aspiring teachers. The university aims to start full time programs like B.A.B.Ed, a four year course to provide high quality training which can make genuine teachers. The university also has plans to provide placements to the graduated students.
