Balancing Your Life

Create a little sanctuary for yourself. Make a claim in your home as you private retreat spot. Make is a space that you can read your favorite books, or work on a special project, dream up a special menu for your family, or just have time to think. Your personal space should have fresh flowers, candles with the scent that you love to smell, soft lighting, anything you need to make you feel comfortable and relaxed. It will be a time for you to be calm and restore yourself.

Do something spontaneous. Take a different way home from work or the store. A new routine will help you to discover different parts of your communities and other venues to explore at another time.

Saying yes if someone offers to help you is a good way to start a new friendship or develop a deeper one. You don't have to every thing yourself.

Get to know nature. Take a hike. Go to your local park, walk along the park trails, and listen to the birds and other animals that are in your park. Nature has healing powers. Take a nice walk on a beach or riverbed. The sound of water is another calming sound.

Take time to travel. Changing the scene opens up new vistas. You don't need to travel far or make it an expensive trip. Bring to scenery into your life will help you enjoy life more fully. The world is such a wonderful place to visit. We all miss so much in life my staying in one place.

Do what you always wanted to do. Follow your heart. Take up painting, join that theatre group you've want to be a part off. Start to write that story that's been in your head for years that you been dying to tell the world about for years. Get involved. Help out at the local hospital, help center, whatever you want to do, just do it.

Stop trying to do everything. Start my slowing down and experience the present moment. You don't have to do ten things once. Slow down, enjoy your life: you only get one.
