Reasons for Getting Your Teachers CertificationSubmitted by ferguson36 Wed, 10 Jun 2009
There are many reasons that a person may want to get his or her teachers certification. Some people have a real passion for teaching. Other people may want to help out the community through teaching. Other people are teaching because they need money and teaching is a stable job.
Some people get their teachers certification because they have a real passion for teaching. Everyone can think back and find at least one teacher that really spoke to them. Those are the kinds of people that truly have a passion for teaching. There is something to be said about the enriching feeling you get when you give without expecting to receive something. Teaching is much like that because you give the students knowledge and expect nothing in return from them. You can be very surprised to find sometimes though that you do receive something from your students. In getting your teachers certification, you may just find that it is you learning something instead. Other people may get their teachers certification so that they can help their communities. All too many people come from communities that are lacking togetherness or enrichment. Some people are driven to do something to help their communities. They want to improve their schools and the quality of the education that the children there are getting. These people get their teachers certification in the hopes of going back to their communities and succeeding where others had previously failed. There they have the opportunity to give back to the community and make sure that the children there can go on to have better lives through getting a better education. Great teachers really help to enrich a community. Although both of those reasons for getting a teachers certification are very noble, not everyone has such intentions. For many people, teaching is just another job. There is always a need for teachers and there are always people who need jobs. For someone with a math degree during a repression, teaching may just be a speed bump on his or her career path. They would still need a teachers certification however. They may only be pursuing the degree for a monetary reason, but it is still a very valid reason. Also, teaching jobs are stable jobs. They usually offer benefit packages and stable hours. Not only that, they also often allow a person certain amounts of loan forgiveness. Even though a person may be entering the teaching profession merely for money, they may actually find that teaching is actually the vocation they are best suited to.
