Get Online to Cheer UpSubmitted by CharlieGoodman Sat, 7 Mar 2009
The Buddha said that life consisted of sorrow, sadness and suffering. We need only turn on the television to see evidence of this statement. No one has ever claimed to be free of sadness. Even those that have led trouble-free lives are not immune. The current global financial crisis and economic downturn make it easy for owners and employees alike to feel discouraged about the future. News of violence across the globe give even more reasons to find ways to cheer up.
An unhappy person is usually unproductive, tends to withdraw from social situations and is prone to overthink their situation. It’s important to take steps to lift yourself from mild unhappiness as soon as possible and not let your feelings and mood lead you to spiral into depression for the simple reason that depression is much harder to overcome. Every person has their own way of beating the blues. Some exercise, others focus on work. One popular cheer up activity is to spend time with friends and family. Unfortunately, friends and family may not always be there to cheer us up. What can one do to cheer up in this circumstance? A simple solution is to get online and find cheer up resources. The internet has a vast treasure of inspirational quotes, poetry, songs, pictures, videos and literary pieces. Sites such as Cheergiver.com exist to lift up the spirits and cheer up people who are feeling down or discouraged. These sites celebrate the human spirit and the finest values it represents. The web has an almost unending supply of things to cheer up and be happy about. But to fully leverage the ability of the internet you will have to make the effort to find things specific to your life situation that will cheer you up. As you cheer up, your outlook on your situation will become more positive and uplifting. As you cheer up, you not only help yourself but become able to help cheer up others. A simple gesture like a smile can help a person cheer up and get them back on their feet. Every time cheer up someone, you also make the world a better place for everyone.
