We all know the famous book "How to win friends and influence people" written by Dale Carnegie more than 70 years ago.

This book was extraordinary because it explains in practical terms how to attract people and benefit from it.

In fact, this is one of the best self-help books ever so I'm gonna write here the basic principles that where explained to help YOU be welcomed anywhere.

1 - Become sincerely interested in other people
Remember how having a dog was? He makes you happy each time you see it. This is so powerful that people use that to become friends with everybody: make the other people happy. Show interest in people. Well, you don't have to act like a dog but you can show interest. Show it in a sincere way, do not try to fake it that would be counter productive.

And the best way to do that is to have a good time meeting people so they can have a good time too. Simple. So here is a simple exercise find a group in which you feel comfortable (local association, professional group…) and get to know every single people using these techniques.

2 - Smile and remember names
How can so many people be so sad? One of the answers is simple: you are sad because sad things happen. Sad things happen because… you are sad. That's a basic manifestation of the law of attraction. Smiling is the best way to be welcome because you seem happy and we like to see happy people.

Of course, I'm oversimplificating thing here but here's the thing if you smile and you remember people's name you'll instantly hit success. Nothing sounds so good that you own name.
3 - Have conversation
If you struggle on this, work on it. That is one on the essential ability needed to make friends. Having conversation is the capacity to talk and listen on what interested people. It's the ability to understand and relate to what the people say.

4 - Listen and encourage people to talk
There is nothing like someone wanting you to talk more. If you are sincerely interested in other's people story, they will sense it and keep talking. This is going to make them like you!

5 - Talk in term of other people interests
If your friends are passionnated by soccer and you don't like it, you'll struggle to become close on this point. What I recommend is to start talking about the things that your friends like. You can ask simple questions and try to understand how it works, this could be fun!

These 5 advices are pretty simple but what will be wonderful is that you apply them in real life. Reading and learning is one thing, action is another.
